Origami "Maple Leaf", a step-by-step photo for the manufacture of which we now present to your attention, can become a bright part of many autumn crafts.

How to make an autumn origami leaf?

To work, you will need double-sided colored paper that fixes the shape well, as well as a standard stationery set: ruler, pencil, scissors, glue.

To make origami autumn leaves, we cut out one strip and several squares with different side lengths from paper of the desired color: one is 8x8 cm, two are 7x7 cm and two are 6x6 cm. In general, work with these squares will be the same, just obtained as a result, the leaves will be slightly different in size.

First of all, lay the square diagonally and fold it in half.

We bend the right corner to the line of the central fold.

We bend the left corner to the line of the central fold.

Now we bend up the lower edge of the resulting irregular rhombus.

And lay the top sides on it.

Fold the bottom right corner up again.

Then fold the left corner in the same way.

We unfold the structure on one side and, guided by the fold line, lift the bottom edge up.

We repeat this action on the other side.

Now lift up the bottom corners.

We turn the craft over and bend the bottom corners again, only now to the center.

Our product takes the form of a tulip.

But if you expand its narrow sides, then the tulip will turn into a leaf. But this is only part of the maple leaf we plan to make.

We make the same parts of different sizes from those squares that were cut out at the beginning.

Armed with stationery glue.

And we begin to assemble the origami maple leaf, connecting individual blanks to each other.

From the strip we make the petiole of the leaf.

We glue it in the center, and our sheet can be considered ready!

You can make leaves of various colors.

Modular origami is a popular type of origami, in which the product is assembled from several identical modules, folded according to the rules of classic origami. Such products do not fall apart, being held due to the friction force that occurs when the modules are added to each other. However, very often glue is used in the works, when it is simply impossible to do without it.

Modular origami was first mentioned in a Japanese book in 1734. It came to the masses only in the 60s of the last century. The most famous masters of modular origami are the Japanese Mitsunobu Sonobe and the American Robert Lang.

From modules it is possible to fold both flat and voluminous products using paper of different colors. Working not only with volume, but also with color requires an increased concentration of attention and connects both hemispheres of the brain to work. Therefore, for children, this will be an excellent educational activity. A very interesting object made in this technique is kusudama. Translated from Japanese means medicine ball. Previously, it was used to treat the sick, putting medicinal herbs and flower petals inside. The Japanese believed that such a ball radiates positive energy and helps the patient to recover. Kusudama can become an original interior decoration and a wonderful gift for your loved ones.

Modular origami is comparable to a designer, from which you can put together various figures of any complexity. The main thing is to learn how to fold modules, and from them you can assemble anything you want. Connect your imagination, or take a look at the master classes in this section. In the modular origami technique, swans of various sizes are often made, as well as peacocks, bunnies and other animals. You can even make candy bowls that will fully fulfill their function.

Modular origami has a positive effect on the development of the child. By folding the modules, children not only develop fine motor skills, but also get acquainted with geometric concepts such as edges, angles, triangles, squares, etc.

Take a peek into the magical world of origami and create your own and unique compositions! This section accumulates our master classes and assembly schemes for various products using this technique.

We have been living in Thailand for more than six months, and unfortunately there is no autumn, yellow maple leaves and everything that distinguishes this time of year from summer, for example ... I remember how during our walks my son did nothing but run with great pleasure and joy along the fallen rustling leaves and jumped over huge leafy heaps (may the poor janitors who sweep the roads forgive us ..). The autumn that has come in our distant Russia has become an occasion for my son and me to learn how to make herbariums using the origami technique. In order not to forget that atmosphere and create a little bit of that autumn mood at home, we set about paper art. And for you, I have collected several origami schemes for the autumn theme.
