Mallow - grown from seeds.

Stock-rose, mallow is also called mallow among the people. Growing this beautiful plant from the seeds will not be too difficult and costly.
Mallow is a perennial plant cultivated as a biennial or annual. There are simple and terry varieties, terry varieties are more valuable, for the beauty of flowers and a little trumpet attention to themselves.
In the second year of life, this garden giant reaches a height of more than 2 meters, and a flower diameter of up to 12 cm. At the same time, the color range ranges from pure white and bed tones to almost black, dark cherry.

I prefer to grow terry mallow through seedlings. I sow seeds in March in glasses. The soil must certainly be nutritious, loose and breathable. It is better to mix humus, sand and perlite (2: 1: 1). Seedlings appear quite quickly within one week. They grow up on the southern windowsill with moderate watering and regular fertilizing with liquid nitrogen fertilizer (once every 2 weeks).

Already at the beginning or in the middle of May, I plant my baby boy in a sunny and calm place. Only the transplant should be done very carefully so as not to damage the long taproot. Otherwise, the plant will take root for a long time (or maybe even die) and you will not wait for flowering this year. Mallows bloom from mid-June until frost.

I continue to feed terry varieties once every 2 weeks with "Kemira", or it can be organic, or a complex fertilizer for flowering plants. By the way, mallow seeds remain viable for 2-3 years.
