The powerful potential of the teaching staff, modernized material and technical base, modern innovative teaching technologies have made Zhytomyr State University named after. Franko (ZHSU) is one of the prestigious educational institutions of Ukraine.
Students of Zhytomyr State University receive everything that meets the requirements of the model of a modern specialist:
Deep professional knowledge, ability to work with a computer, knowledge of one or two foreign languages.
If desired, they can get two or three working professions (driver, governess, secretary to the manager, etc.). From the first year, students are involved in research work, continue their studies in master's and postgraduate studies, and in the future become candidates and doctors of science. By decision of the Higher Attestation Commission of Ukraine, a specialized council for the defense of candidate dissertations was opened at the university.
Zhytomyr State University named after Ivan Franko is a complex polystructural system, including a number of educational, scientific and production complexes, research centers and institutes, dozens of laboratories, a rich library, a computer center, an agrobiological station, an observatory, an institute of postgraduate education, a canteen and buffets , 5 dormitories with 2 thousand beds and a modern and powerful sports complex with an area of about 3 hectares.
One of the features of Zhytomyr State University is democracy and humanization of relationships between students and teachers. The university has a collective agreement that provides for the encouragement of any constructive activity of students and teachers for the benefit of the university, the region and the state as a whole.
The Student Fraternity created at the university, together with the administration, organizes the lives of students so that none of the more than eight thousand student families stand aside from the cultural and social life of the university.
International relations of Zhytomyr State University
Thanks to close scientific and educational ties with foreign universities in the USA, Germany, Great Britain, France, Austria, Mexico, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and other countries, students have the opportunity to participate in various international competitions, undergo internships and continue their studies abroad.
Soon, on the basis of a number of memorandums with prestigious European universities, another opportunity for cooperation will appear - international exchange of students, organization of joint international research projects that will promote the mobility of students, teachers and university researchers.
