Sup boards. Buy sup board from America. High technology, super light, design of the year. Hard or inflatable options

SUP boarding is a form of surfing. But, unlike the more common and familiar to all sports, sup boarding is practiced with a paddle. This means that such a board is used not only where you can catch a wave, but also on absolutely calm water, in almost any body of water. It is suitable for those who just want to ride, fish, master complex sports tricks and add many more interesting tasks to their leisure time. You can master the SUP board, which our store sells, at any age - now they even produce special products for children.

Types of SUP boards depending on use

When choosing a sup board for purchase in an online store, carefully study all the characteristics of the products. You need to take into account the length, weight, displacement, and the maximum permissible weight of the person who will operate the product.

Depending on the purpose of use, boards are divided into options for surfing and rowing. In the first case, accordingly, the rider will catch a wave, and in the second - ride on a more or less flat surface - boards for such purposes are also called pleasure boards.

SUP surfboard (Paddle Surfing) is more compact because it should be maneuverable and high speed. The optimal length for such tasks is no more than 2.9 meters. If you plan to calmly ride or row, then the product should be longer and more stable. In this case, look for solutions at 3.8 or 4.3 meters. They are quite easy to hold on even for beginners.

Hard or inflatable options?

You can also buy a sup board of one of two types, depending on the type of construction - inflatable or hard. The debate about which of these options is better has been going on for a long time. But everything is simple here: an inflatable sup board, since it can be deflated, takes up less space and is easy to transport. For hobbyists who do not want to create problems with transportation and storage, this is a convenient solution.

When you need a professional SUP board, consider hard models first. The good thing about this sport is that manufacturers offer a huge selection of products to suit every taste and budget.

Price range

There is no single opinion on how much a sup board should cost: prices in Moscow depend on a lot of factors. Children's models can be purchased for about 20 thousand, products for adults start on average from 25-35 thousand rubles. There is no upper ceiling, as in any sport, because expensive custom solutions are always relevant. But among factory goods, for 80-90 thousand you can buy quite professional, very high-quality types of boards.

In the age of high technology, if you want to know something better, use the Internet. However, even if you ask Yandex what a SUP or Stand Up Board is, the Russian-language answer will only be on the second page; in the second ten there is a company of kiters who carry SUP boards to order and simply do not supply them to Russia.

Meanwhile, as correctly noted on that kiting site, SUP is becoming more and more popular abroad. So what is SUP?

Many people are probably familiar with surfing. There is windsurfing and there is regular surfing. For the first you need a fairly large board, a sail and wind, for the second you don’t need a sail, but it’s all about the waves, that’s what you’re riding on. What should you do if you want to train in balance on an unstable board, but there is no wind or waves near you? Or are there still no waves and there is still no way to transport a large windsurfing board and sail? The answer is SUP. SUP is also a board. Almost the same as in surfing. But only without a sail. A person can make quite long and long-distance movements on it, standing on it and controlling the oar. The driving style is a bit like that of the Venetian gondoliers, but the technique is closer to canoe rowing, only in a standing position.

There are two types of SUP boards - inflatable and plastic. With plastic everything is clear, the same principle as ordinary boards. But an inflatable board offers a lot of possibilities.

Firstly, it is much more compact. It folds into a package, like a regular rubber boat. The kit only requires a pump and a paddle.

Secondly, more often inflatable boards are made a little larger than plastic, and therefore, if you just like to travel long distances, such a board will provide a little more stability in the presence of waves. Plus, sometimes these boards have elastic bands on them, so you can attach a small waterproof bag and put everything you need for a day trip in it (camera, snacks, etc.)

Nowadays, the spread of SUP in the world is due to the presence of competitions in this type, as well as all sorts of records for crossing straits, lakes, etc. on SUP.

In addition, if you own a recreation center or rental center for equipment for water recreation, SUP will be an original addition to the solutions you offer.

This season we will be pleased to offer you boards from the French company Aquadesign. Two of the three models we presented will be inflatable and one made of polyethylene.

And as a snack for yoga lovers:

Your advantages are obvious - you can combine outdoor activities and water treatments. What could be better in summer?

So, are you already interested and now want to know where to start?

SUP equipment.

In this sport, you only need a few key pieces of equipment.

SUP board- This is the most important piece of equipment and, of course, the most expensive. The size of the board depends on the weight and experience of the paddler. Lighter and more experienced riders may choose a narrower board. For beginners, it is better to choose wider, more stable ones. More information on choosing a board at the end of this article.

Paddle: SUP paddles are distinguished by the presence of a bend, or “knee,” in the shaft to increase stroke efficiency and a specific blade shape. Choose a paddle that is 15-20 cm shorter than your height (some manufacturers recommend 20-25 cm shorter than your height).

Life vest: If you plan to travel on a SUP on the ocean or on bodies of water where navigation is open, wear a life jacket.

The right clothes: In cold weather you will need a wet or dry suit, in warm weather a T-shirt and shorts or a swimsuit - anything you can get wet in - will suffice.

Sun protection: hat, sunglasses and sunscreen.

Technique. Start

Transportation of the board.

Most manufacturers provide boards with a special handle for transporting them. If your board does not have such a handle, and you need to carry it for quite a long time, then the best way is on your head or, slightly bent, on your shoulders. And here you need to guess with the balance so that the board leans neither forward nor backward.

Start in shallow, calm water.

Positioning on the board.

At the very beginning, it may be easier for you to row in a kneeling position than straight away while standing. Here are some guidelines for the first steps:

Standing next to the board, place the paddle across the board and use it as a support. The shaft should lie on the stiffening rib of the board, and the blade should lie on the water.

Hold the board by the sides and additionally hold the paddle with one hand. Sit on the board on your knees slightly behind the center of the board. Feel the balance of the board. The bow should not rise too high and the stern should not go under water. Keep your hands on either side of the center of the board for better balance.

The moment you are ready, place one foot first and then the other. Stand where your knees were on the board. At this point, you can use the help of a friend. Ask him to hold the board while you stand up.

Technique. On the water

Standing rowing.

Your feet should be parallel to each other and in the center of the board (equal distance to the sides of the board). Do not stand on the boards. Try to keep the toes of your feet pointing straight, your knees slightly bent, and your back straight. Maintain balance by working your hips rather than tilting your body. Keep your head and shoulders straight. Look towards the horizon, not at your feet. The technique is very similar to cycling: as you increase forward speed, stability increases. Once you start to feel confident in shallow water, it's time to go on a real adventure. Here are some tips to help you improve. If you are doing a right side stroke, your right hand should be on the shaft and your left hand should be holding the handle on top. The bending angle of the oar is directed in such a way that the blade faces in the direction of movement (see picture - left is correct, right is wrong)

Keep your arms straight and only rotate your body as you row. You should row with your core, not your arm strength, as the arm muscles are weaker. Lower the oar into the water with your top hand (the one on the handle). Lower the paddle into the water, slide along the board underwater and then remove the paddle from the water. When you're just starting out, take small strokes. Small strokes will be enough to maintain forward motion. To move in a forward direction, alternate 4-5 strokes on the left and right sides. When you change the side of the stroke, you must change the corresponding hand position.

Turns while driving.

There are several techniques for turning while moving.

Straight strokes. The easiest way to turn. Simply paddle from one side until the nose of the board is pointed there. Wherever you need it.

Reverse stroke. Another quick way to turn or change direction. You need to stroke back on the side you want to turn.

Sea strokes. Lower the paddle near the bow of the board and make a long, wide, arcing stroke towards the stern.

Other tips:

Standing a little closer to the stern and looking over your shoulder in the direction of the turn will help make it happen. Another technique that works well especially in surfing is to paddle from your comfortable side (left foot forward if paddling from the right side). Bend your knees and put more weight on the leg closest to your rear. This will speed up the turn and make it easier to execute.

If you fell.

Learning how to paddle a SUP board is relatively easy, but that doesn't mean you'll have the occasional fall as you master the skill. For times when you've lost your balance:

Try to fall into the water and not onto the board. If you lose your paddle while falling, first climb back onto your board and then paddle up to the paddle.

Common mistakes made by newbies.

These mistakes are easy to make when you're just starting to learn a skill. Try to avoid them and you'll have a lot of fun on the water.

Body tilt. Keep your back straight. Shoulders straight. Look at your feet, not at the horizon. The oar bends in the wrong direction. Incorrect oar grip - both hands on the shaft. Straight legs without bending at the knees. It is easier to maintain balance if your knees are slightly bent.

Next steps.

When you finally master the basic technique, don't stop there. Ride the waves in the ocean, learn new turning techniques and new types of strokes. You may want to change your board to something narrower and more maneuverable.

Either way, enjoy the views and have a great time on the SUP!

SUP FAQ

Question: Is it necessary to have waves to ride a SUP board?

Answer: Even though SUP boards look like oversized surfboards, you don't need waves to enjoy this sport. In addition, to gain and consolidate skills, it is better to ride on calm water.

Question: What board size is right for me?

Answer: The choice should be determined by the ratio of the rower's weight, his experience, the area of the desired use of the board and local conditions. You can consult with our specialists and they will help you choose the board that suits you.

Question: Why is the oar bent?

Answer: The curve of the oar provides a more efficient, more powerful stroke. Due to the bend, when you move the oar along the side of the board, the blade will be strictly vertical.

Question: What should you wear for SUP training?

Answer: Wear clothes that allow you to move freely and that will dry well - T-shirts, tank tops, shorts, swimsuits - this is all for good, warm weather. In cold weather it is better to stock up on a wetsuit. And always wear a life jacket.

Question: Do I need to wax the board?

Answer: Most boards have a special coating where the paddler sits. Such boards do not slip and do not need to be waxed. If you choose a board that does not have such a coating, then you will need to apply a base coating and a grip ointment that will ensure that it does not slip.

Question: Is it possible to remove the fins from the board?

Answer: Fins help you maintain direction as you move your board through the water. They can be removed for storage and transport, but you probably won't want to go out on the water without them.

Question: Where should you stand on the board?

Answer: Stand slightly behind the center of the board. The bow should not stick out of the water, and the stern should not bury itself in the water.

Question: Can I ride a board on rivers?

Answer: Certainly. You can ride on almost any water suitable for rafting.

Question: Why not just use a kayak?

Answer: Kayaking is certainly a great form of recreation and sport. But SUP wins in comparison because it allows you to enjoy the best views, both of the horizon and underwater. This sport and recreation is easier to learn and requires less equipment. And SUP provides a great full-body workout.

Question: Is it possible to surf with a SUP board?

Answer: Yes, but it's better to learn on empty waves first before you start going out on the waves with a group of people.

Question: How much does a set of equipment for SUP classes cost?

Answer: Depends on the model you choose. The cost of a board and paddle varies between $1,100 and $2,100.

SUP boards: which one to choose?

Once you get the SUP virus, you'll want your own board. To choose the best one, base it on data on its weight, dimensions, volume, and carrying capacity. Below you can find information that will help you make the right choice.

Types of boards

SUP boards vary in shape/purpose and materials.

Purpose - includes two main types: universal and tourist/high-speed. The advantage of these boards is that they are suitable for multiple types of paddling.

All Arounders - universal: These boards are offered in a traditional body design and range from 305 to 365 cm in length and 74 to 92 cm in width. They are best for beginners and those who want to travel on calm rivers, lakes, close to shore or those who want to fish from a board.

Race, Touring, Downwind - Speed, expedition and windy boards: These boards feature a pointed bow and a rounded, kayak-like hull shape. Most are 380-425 cm long. The pointed nose shape is more effective and requires less effort over long distances. Speed and expedition boards are usually made narrower, so make sure the board is stable enough for you.

SUP Hybryd - hybrid SUP designs: The boards are hybrids that you can use as both a Sit on top kayak and a Stand Up Paddle Board. Its versatility allows you to use the board for fishing, light surfing and travel. Often, models of such boards are equipped with fasteners to allow you to take some equipment with you for long day trips.

Surfing SUP - SUP surfboards: Beginners to surfing can try this form on a wide, stable, versatile board. Those who are already comfortable enough can enjoy riding on a narrower board. If you're a pro, you can also use a shorter board that's easier to maneuver.

Children's boards: Several types of boards are suitable for children, depending on the situations. If a child rides independently, a classic universal board with a length of about 240 cm will suit him. It is easier to control and carry than an adult board. Children will also love inflatable boards as they are lighter, easier to carry and absorb shock from falls.

Women's boards: Standard boards are heavy and inconvenient to carry and load on the roof of a car. Manufacturers responded to customer needs by creating special ultra-light boards with an additional handle in the middle of the body.

Balance and board width

The width of the board is the most important factor in determining the stability of the boat. Boards are made up to 92 cm wide to meet the needs of people of any body size. Wider models are ideal for larger people, people with limited physical fitness and those with recent leg injuries. The increased width and thickness of the board adds load-bearing capacity and stability.

For example, a person with a height of 195 cm and a weight of 105 kg will need a board width of 79 cm or wider and a thickness of 10.3 cm. And on the other hand, people up to 170 cm tall and weighing up to 82 kg should consider options with a width of 73.7 to 76.2 cm. These boards will be more maneuverable and easier to transport.

And one more recommendation for people who pay a lot of attention to balance - select wider boards until you feel comfortable on it. It’s better later, when you feel more confident, change it to a narrower one.

Board length

For starters, the board needs to be a certain length to work for you. If the board is not large enough to displace enough water, it will not keep you on the surface.

Other aspects of choice

For beginners and those who need a board for simple travel without any specific complex requests, a length of 305-365 cm is suitable.

Long boards are faster than short boards. If you are interested in expeditions and high-speed travel, you need a board with a length of 380 to 427 cm to either maintain physical fitness or travel long distances.

Advanced riders will benefit from shorter boards for greater maneuverability.

Well, an important argument in favor of a certain length of the board is your ability to transport it by car, store it at home or in the garage, the distance to the nearest body of water, etc.

Fins

One large fin: It is usually mounted on the board in runners and screwed with a bolt. The fin can be moved back and forth on the runners. When the fin is closer to the stern, the board will move better, which is good for expeditions, fast passages and paddling in calm water. If you move the fin closer to the nose, the board will turn easier, which is an advantage when surfing in rough water.

Three fin set: This set was originally used on surfboards, but also works well in calm water. These straighter, stiffer fins are better for downwind because they help long boards sail easier in big waves. On the other hand, if a hard fin hits a rock, you will likely fall forward. Other fins are softer and will bend when they encounter rocks, logs or the shore. They will bounce off the obstacle and you can continue your move.

Fins on inflatable SUPs: There are also non-removable rubber fins or removable semi-rigid fins.

Board designs

Boards are made from a variety of materials, with a base of expanded polystyrene wrapped in fiberglass, carbon, or most often plastic. The boards can be hollow from the inside or solid. Most boards produced using spin molding technology are hollow due to the manufacturing process, and some professional boards can be hollow to reduce weight while maintaining performance.

Plastic boards (rotomolding):- durable, affordable, heavy. Some models can be used as Sit on top kayaks. These boards are good for families with children who want to dive into the water.

Fiberglass or epoxy based on polystyrene foam: average cost, can be used for various types of rowing. The most popular type of boards. Design features vary within this group, so weight also varies. Some boards have a wood core underneath a fiberglass deck, which adds strength and rigidity. Others use an epoxy coating process that makes the outside of the board very durable.

Inflatable: Durable, easy to transport, can be used in a wide range of paddling styles (from white water to slow speeds). Made from PVC with taped seams, inflatable boards can be easily stored at home, on the top shelves of racks, or in the trunk of a car.

Choose a hollow or inflatable board if you find it difficult to carry heavy epoxy boards. Or travel in groups so that someone can help you transport your board.

Cost of boards

Prices for boards typically range from $600 to $2,100. The cheapest ones are made of durable hard plastic and are heavier. Top board models are made from ultra-light materials such as carbon or have a bamboo deck.

Don't forget to budget for a paddle, life jacket and harness. Boots or rafting shoes are also a good idea if you have to walk along wild beaches or shores. Lastly, you may need a wetsuit if you want to travel in cold weather.

To save money, many families use one board per day for the entire family with 1-2 children. For these purposes, using an adjustable paddle is a great idea.

SUP surfboard

There are a number of equipment features for SUP riding. For example, the board is larger than a traditional surfboard, which contributes to greater stability. The width of such boards also differs significantly, and if the standard size of a surfboard starts from 55 cm, then for a SUP board it is 65 cm. There are also models of boards, the design of which provides for the installation of a mast with a sail. As for transportation and storage, inflatable SUP models easily fit into a backpack. But do not confuse surfboards and SUP surfboards; they differ from each other in a number of design features.

If we talk about the functional task, then everything is even simpler; the main task is maximum stability on the water surface. In addition to dimensions, shape plays an important role, and depending on it there will be different degrees of maneuverability and speed. Recently, the creators of SUP boards have gone very far, and now it is possible to select special forms, for example, for racing, water recreation, fishing, etc. Options for fishing, for example, are equipped with special rod holders and various accessories. Inflatable options are suitable for general outdoor activities on the water.

SUP paddle

Once you have decided on the choice of board, an equally important point is the correctly selected oar. The main difference is the variety of materials from which the oars are made. The most budget option are oars made of aluminum alloys; accordingly, the most expensive and lighter ones are made of carbon fiber. The best option would be a paddle made of fiberglass. What else affects the choice of SUP paddle? First of all, this is on the efficiency of movement, as well as on other important factors, such as whether the paddle is foldable or not, which, accordingly, will either be convenient to transport or less convenient. When you are about to buy a SUP board and start browsing sites on the Internet, you must be experiencing a slight misunderstanding: how can the same product cost from 22 to 120 thousand rubles? In addition, you need to decide on the shape and size of the SUP board, load capacity, choose a paddle and accessories. Our catalog includes more than 100 types of boards, 85 types of oars and many accessories. To help you make the right choice, we have compiled this review.

We would like to note that we compile the review exclusively objectively. In our company, it is not customary to criticize competitive online stores and the brands that are their priority.

The review is based on the assortment available in our company in 2019.

Choosing the shape of the SUP board

The shape should be chosen depending on your riding style.

Choosing a board for pleasure skating on smooth water

It is thanks to its accessibility for mass riding and simplicity that SUP surfing has today become the most popular type of surfing in the world. Most people just want to ride on a river, lake or sea in the calm, enjoying the views and sunbathing. No extreme. Therefore, the most common style of riding is recreational. For these purposes, you need a large, wide and stable sap, which is called a travel sap. Board sizes range from 10"6 to 12"6 feet. Thickness 10-15 cm, width - from 80 cm. Oval shape.

Travel rigs, as a rule, have 3 fins: two small side ones and one large middle one, usually removable. Loading capacity of walking boards from 80 kg. They can be ridden alone or together. These are the kind of paddle boards that heavyweights, people whose weight exceeds 100 kg, should buy.

Walking SUPs are available in the lines of all brands. The choice should be made more based on appearance. Premium brands make very beautiful SUP boards, pleasant to the touch, everything is glued together smoothly, the glue does not stick out anywhere. Beautiful translucent fins, graceful handles, fashionable bags. The Anomy company produces designer paddle boards with prints of famous artists: , . These are perhaps the most fashionable items in our assortment.

SUP boards also differ in the materials from which they are made. Cheap ones are made from simpler materials, they smell strong when new. This SUP board should not be stored in an apartment, the smell is quite toxic. This is not dangerous for an adult, but can be dangerous for small children and small pets. Premium brands (Red Paddle, Shark, JP Australia, Anomy, Fanatic) produce almost odorless products.

The type of material also affects the weight of the board. Good material allows you to make it significantly lighter without reducing the number of layers on the sides that determine the rigidity of SAP. Thus, for premium travel models, the maximum pressure reaches 25 PSI (pounds per inch, this is more than 1.5 atmospheres) with a projectile weight of up to 7-10 kg. Inexpensive SUP boards weigh 13-14 kg and the maximum pressure is up to 18 PSI.

A walking SUP board can also be used as a surfboard if your weight is heavy enough. If the weight is low, you should not use a travel model for wave surfing, as maneuverability will be low.

Choosing a SUP board for wave surfing

How to choose a paddle board if you are going to surf the waves? If your weight does not exceed 90 kg, then it is better to choose from the Surf series. Surfboard sizes range from 7"8 to 10"6 feet. These are short and thin paddle boards - up to 10 cm thick.

The shape of the SUP board has a narrowed stern and a ledge for the feet. The mat can be either soft or hard, but it is better to choose a hard one - at speed and when maneuvering on waves you need good grip. The fins are usually two glued short and one removable 9 inch.

Surfboards are available from Shark, Red Paddle, JP Australia, Starboard and Fanatic.

When deciding on the size of a surfboard, it is important to note that not all short paddle boards are well suited for surfing. For example, the short SUP board Gladiator is more suitable for children's walks and is suitable for light riders due to its simple round shape.

For surfing, the Red Paddle line includes a board.

Let's take a look at the surfing products in the Shark company line; there is a wide choice here. There are three models for surfing - , . The founder and chief designer of the Shark company, Alan, is an excellent surfer himself and makes SUPs, one might say, for himself, so that he can ride them himself. He personally tests all paddle boards and rides only his own equipment. Surfers note that they are made just perfectly in shape and maneuverability.

The Australian brand JP Australia Surf Air 9"7 has a similar equipment. The founder of this brand is professional surfer Jason Polyakov, winner of many surf competitions, which is also important to know when choosing a board. Surfers design equipment as they should be and improve it every year ride quality, rigidity, weight and maneuverability.

The cost of surf SUP boards is quite high, primarily due to the fact that they are produced mainly by premium brands. You can buy a relatively inexpensive surfboard made by Shark, and the quality will be no worse than premium brands. Children and light riders can use the SUP surf as a touring surf.

Touring boards

Touring paddleboards are designed for long distance paddling on smooth water. They are narrower in shape than for walking, have a pointed bow and a wide stern for greater stability. This shape allows you to literally glide through the water, which significantly increases speed. Touring boards make it easy to travel long distances without much effort.

To ensure load capacity and rigidity, touring paddle boards are made thicker, 15 cm each. The length of such boards ranges from 10"6 to 13"2 feet. The width of the touring model is usually from 73 to 76 cm.

In terms of stability, the touring SAP is slightly inferior to travel models, but in terms of speed it wins. If on a walking board you don’t need to spend any time adapting to feel the balance, then on a touring board you will have to get used to it a little.

The fin of a touring projectile is usually one, removable and large, which allows it to better maintain course. Some manufacturers make an additional two small ones. We remember that one fin is a significant limitation in shallow water.

Of course, a touring board can easily be converted into a walking board. It will be uncomfortable to ride through the waves on such a projectile; the long and narrow shape does not allow you to quickly maneuver and catch the wave.

This year Shark updated their line of touring boards: they removed the small 10"6 and added another 12"6 with a width of 81 cm, this board will be more stable and perfect for heavy riders.

Touring SUP boards are available from many manufacturers: Red Paddle, Shark, Gladiator, Jobe, Naish, Fanatic, Starboard, D7, Bic and others. Often the board name will have the word Explorer or Touring in it.

The selection criteria are the same as for travel models:

  • Design,
  • Quality of material,
  • Hardness (how much PSI can be pumped up),
  • Quality of the kit
  • Availability and quality of oars.

Sports high-speed SUP boards

Red Paddle and Shark have very decent sports inflatables. Red Paddle additionally equips its sports boards with fiberglass stiffeners. There are even children's sports shoes!

SUP-wind boards (inflatable windsurfing boards)

Recently, many manufacturers have begun to offer inflatable boards that are universal for windsurfing and stand-up paddle boarding. As a rule, this is a recreational SUP board with a sail mount. The most ordinary sail will do.

An inflatable windsurfing board has a number of advantages over a rigid one. Firstly, it is stronger and indestructible. Secondly, it has a rubberized body, which again saves the board from the mast constantly falling on it. Thirdly, it is more pleasant for the athlete to fall on the inflatable. It is for these reasons that more and more rentals aimed at beginners are choosing inflatable windsups.

Today there are even professional inflatable windsurfing boards. They are distinguished by the presence of a centerboard, leg loops, and original shape. Our assortment includes a board - this is a real inflatable windsurfing board!

Windsup boards are available from a range of manufacturers: Shark, Red Puddle, Fanatic, Mistral, Naish, Aqua Marina, D7, Starboard, Bic, JP. This year, the manufacturer JOBE was added to this list; they released a board with the ability to install a sail - Venta 9"6.

When choosing a SUPWIND board, you need to pay attention to the length of the removable fin. For windsurfing, it is also important to have a second central removable fin (centerboard). By the way, there is also a nuance - all manufacturers simply have a second fin in the middle, while Red Paddle, Bic and Starboard have a real centerboard, i.e. a through hole in the board into which a large fin is inserted.

Starboard and Aquamarine have boards with foot mounts and a sail included.

In the Red Paddle, Starboard, Mistral and Aquamarina line, in addition to boards, there are also sails ranging in size from 1.5 to 6.5 meters. Particularly popular are those from the Starboard company.

When choosing a SUP board, you need to pay attention to the reliability of the board. Choose models with dense PVC, 23-25 PSI or a model with stiffness stringers. Collisions with rocks when parking can be quite serious and it is important to have a strong grip.

Any exotic

Some manufacturers produce special equipment for girls and children. Usually this is just a surf or travel model of a certain coloring.

SUP yoga boards

Shark, Red Paddle, Mistral, Aquamarina, Starboard and Jobe produce paddle boards for SUP yoga. These are large travel boards with a mat over the entire surface of the deck, additional handles and an oar mount.

Aquamarina's bad option for yoga is a board of a strange rectangular shape. There is a plastic handle in the middle, which makes it difficult to exercise. In addition, the board is very small for tiny girls and it’s simply impossible to turn around on it! However, the Super trip model from the same manufacturer is simply created for SUP yoga, although it is not positioned as such.

Big SUP and tandem boards

Big SUP is a gigantic size SUP board for riding with a group of 4-12 people. Perhaps the best equipment for corporate entertainment. It is more difficult to ride on such a board than on a single sup. The model is completely unstable and does not hold its shape well. But it's fun - tested it on yourself! Highly recommended for rentals.

This year the big saps released Shark, Red Paddle, Mistral, Fanatic. The kit usually includes a board and several hand pumps.

Tandem boards are elongated boards for 2-3 people to ride. This same board can be used by one heavy 120kg+ and tall rider. Shark (), Red Paddle and Aqua Marina have such models this season.

SUP for fishing

SUP boards for fishing are currently available from Aquamarina, Starboard, JP Australia and Bic, but the boards are not very popular, so most often they are only available for pre-order. Such models are equipped with special mounts for fishing rods and fishing tackle. Aquamarine also has a cooler seat.

Our store's assortment includes: With their help, any travel board can be turned into a fishing board!

White water SUP

These models are short in length, up to 9.6 feet, and are very wide and thick. Also equipped with many handles (up to 6). The body is reinforced with thick PVC, so these boards are simply indestructible. However, such boards are therefore heavier. They are intended for SUP rafting and rafting on wild rivers.

Such boards are presented in the following lines: Red Paddle, Shark, Fanatic, Starboard.

The White water SUP board can be used as a walking board - it is very stable.

Pedal SUP

Hobie has made a big splash in the SUP community with its board. The handle and pedal drive are removable, so the board can be used as a regular SUP.

SUP dragon

By analogy with the dragon kayak, the Red Paddle company released. This is a racing board for 4 athletes. The D7 brand made a similar board called .

This area is developing very quickly. The World Championship in this discipline, Dragon world series, is being held. At one of the World Cup rounds, the team from Vladivostok took 3rd place. Team swims are also held at many starts, as a separate category, for example, at Gla Gla race.

In 2018, the SUP-club team took 3rd place at the Russian Championship in dragon racing.

SUP hydrofoils

These shells are simply a miracle of technology. This SUP doesn't go, it flies over the water! This is made possible by the large T-shaped fin. The board only rises above the water at high speed, so on these models you need to ride the waves (surf) or flow downwind.

SUP hydrofoils are available in the Starboard and Naish ranges.
