Master class: crocheted basket. Crochet basket: diagram and description of knitting work for beginner needlewomen Crochet baskets with patterns

You can crochet not only clothes, but also interesting toys, interior decorations, and funny souvenirs.

Crocheting baskets made of cord or thick yarn is very popular today. This useful accessory is convenient for storing various small things that need to be kept at hand: keys, lighters, hairpins, etc. Don’t rush to go to the Ikea store - you can create a basket with your own hands.

DIY knitted basket

The basket is an indispensable accessory in everyday life and a bright interior accent. In addition to aesthetic pleasure and the realization of your creative potential, you will get a lot of benefits with it:

Amateur summer residents can use a wicker basket for collecting berries, and mushroom pickers can use it for quiet hunting. However, in this case, it is necessary to cover the bottom with cloth or thick paper, otherwise the item will quickly get dirty and will no longer be as elegant as before. It is best to take such a basket for collecting berries or fruits that are hard and do not wrinkle (for example, apples, pears or gooseberries). But you shouldn’t use it for currants or raspberries.

A knitted or wicker basket will look great in a kitchen decorated in Provence style (the so-called “rustic style”), combined with lace curtains, embroidered towels and other homemade textiles. It will make the kitchen cozy and beautiful.

What you need for work

A wicker basket can be made from thick rope (for example, using the macrame technique), and a knitted one can be made from good quality yarn. Before reading the crochet master class, you need to prepare materials for the basket. Woolen threads can be of different colors, it all depends on the desire of the craftswoman. If the basket has a round shape, it is more convenient to use circular knitting needles. Also for work you need to prepare:

You can use other materials for weaving or knitting. The main thing is that they are sufficiently dense and durable. The material of the handle must be especially reliable so that the basket can be carried.

Step-by-step master class

Knitting is now at the peak of popularity, so there are many suitable patterns on the Internet. The basket can be of any shape: oval, semicircular and even rectangular. Of course, knitting such a product is much easier than a jacket or scarf. However, it is better for novice craftswomen to choose the simplest scheme with a detailed description. Then you can easily knit the desired item and avoid mistakes. For crocheting or knitting a basket, it is best to look for a pattern and description on specialized Internet sites. Schemes presented in women's magazines often contain errors or typos that significantly complicate the work. So, to make a basket, you need:

  • Knit the bottom of the basket according to the pattern. If the item is not intended for decoration, but exclusively for practical purposes (storing things, collecting crops in the country or mushrooms), the bottom can not be knitted, but made of thick fabric or plywood and then millet attached to the knitted base;
  • Next, start making the walls. The easiest way to do this is using the circular knitting technique;
  • The finished walls and bottom are connected to each other. If the bottom is also knitted, it is sewn to the walls by hand, using threads to match the yarn. If the bottom is made of another material, it can be “planted” with glue;
  • The handle is knitted. The most convenient way to do this is to crochet. The handle should be of medium length. Too long will easily tear, and too short will make using the basket inconvenient. The length must be such that the product can be easily transported from place to place and used for its intended purpose;
  • The handle is securely sewn to the basket with a hidden seam - threads to match the fabric.

Stages of creating a basket

How to decorate the finished product

Here are several options for decorating a knitted or wicker basket:

Other basket options

You can weave an original basket from old newspapers, cut into strips and coated with a special varnish. It can be of any shape, for example, square or rectangular. A man who loves to craft will willingly weave baskets from willow twigs. You can also try crocheting from multi-colored garbage bags cut into strips (the technology will be approximately the same as crocheting rugs in the traditional “grandmother’s” way).

A decorative basket-box will be made from strips of colored cardboard- even a child of primary school age can cope with such work. Such a product will look especially impressive if you take cardboard strips of two contrasting colors and intertwine them in a checkerboard pattern.

Straw weaving is developed in Belarus. Before work, it must be thoroughly dried, trimmed and processed. Such products do not need to be coated with varnish or paint, since the straw is beautiful in itself.

Basket weaving is a unique creative activity: there are no limits to your imagination. Once you get comfortable with simple patterns, you will be able to create more complex ones, for example, using the amigurumi technique, and become a true master of this craft! Good luck!

Abbreviations:

  • Air p. - air loop
  • Art. without n. – single crochet
  • Art. s n. – double crochet
  • Conn. Art. – connecting single crochet.

Step-by-step description with diagram

So, let's start making a cute crochet basket; a detailed diagram and description will be given below. In our case, we will use ribbon yarn of 2 colors.

Craftswomen usually start crocheting round products with an Amigurumi ring. To understand how to make it, look at the picture below.

The yarn should be as thick as possible - this way the finished product will keep its shape!

  • Row 1: make an amigurumi ring - to do this, you need to wrap the thread around two fingers, then insert the hook under the first thread and form a loop from the second thread.

Knit 8 tbsp in this way. without n.

When the first row is completed, close the connection ring. Art., pull the free end of the thread and slightly tighten the loop.

  • 2nd row: we tie the ring in a circle, knitting 2 tbsp in each loop. without n. and starting a row of air. lifting point. Finish the row of connections. Art. As a result, we get 16 tbsp. without n.
  • 3rd row: we make increases in every second loop, that is, we knit 1 tbsp in the first loop. without n., in the second - 2 tbsp. without n. and so on. At the beginning of the row, do not forget 1 air. p. for lifting, and we finish the connection. Art. This makes 24 loops.

  • 4th row: air. p. lifting, then we make increases only in every third loop - 1 tbsp. without n., 1 tbsp without n., 2 tbsp. without n. We close the row of connections. Art. As a result, we have 32 loops.
  • 5th row: in the 5th row we evenly add 8 tbsp. without n. As usual, start a series of air. p., and finish the connection. Art. We get 40 loops.
  • Row 6: add another 8 tbsp evenly around the circle. without n. Total 48 loops.

  • Row 7: from this row we begin to knit the wall of our basket. To obtain a more prominent row of art. without n. We knit only under one loop of the previous one. We don't give raises. We begin a series of air. p., and we finish the connection. Art.

  • Row 8: knit st. without n. along the circumference under both loops of the braid in each loop. There is no need to add anything.
  • Row 9: knit in the same way as the previous one.
  • Row 10: in this row we use yarn of a different color. In our case it is white. Knit around the circumference of st. without n. and finish the connection as usual. Art. We don't give raises.
  • Row 11: knit it with white threads. In total, we knitted 2 rows with white yarn.

  • Row 12: from this row we knit the handles of our basket. The sequence is as follows - we knit 2 air. p., 10 tbsp. from n., 5 air. p., skip 7 loops, 17 st. from n., 5 air. p., skip 7 loops and finish st. s n. to the end of the row, ending the connection. Art.

  • 13th row: 2 air. p. lifting, tie in a circle st. s n. A chain of 5 air. p. we tie 7 tbsp. s n. As a result of painstaking work, we came up with such a cute little thing

At the end of the work, sew up all the loose ends of the yarn.

Such a basket can be knitted either in a single color or with various colored inserts, making the product more colorful and bright - it all depends on your imagination.

The basket can be made larger or smaller both in diameter and in height. In our lesson today we presented the simplest crochet basket, the diagram and description are very detailed and understandable.

The finished product can be decorated with various ribbon bows, sew on buttons or beads, glue on rhinestones, and much more. etc. Such a basket will be a very beautiful handmade gift.

Basket with a “Checkmark” pattern crocheted from knitted yarn

Previously, we sorted it out in different ways. It's time to put your knowledge into practice. You've probably seen baskets made of knitted yarn on various online resources dedicated to crochet. Most of them are knitted with the “Tick” pattern. Knitting from knitted yarn is a specific process, and therefore the requirements for the pattern are special: simplicity and medium density. “Checkmarks” just meet these requirements.

Scheme of the Checkmark pattern

In general, the “Checkmarks” pattern is presented in two versions - with checkmarks arranged one above the other and with checkmarks arranged in a checkerboard pattern. For knitting baskets, the first option is used, as it provides sufficient density and makes it possible to conveniently increase and knit in the round. You can find the second knitting option for this pattern in a special article - a link to it at the very beginning of this material.

Pattern repeat- 3 loops + 2 loops for symmetry.

Scheme

Below is a pattern for knitting a circle with the “Tick” pattern, which we have already discussed in previous articles. It is universal because it allows you to knit a circle of any size - increases in all rows are carried out according to the same principle.

According to this pattern it fits basket bottom made of knitted yarn. Then the increases stop, and knitting continues according to the general pattern presented above (a tick above a tick, no increases). Sometimes the pattern changes, but care must be taken to ensure that the new pattern has the same density. Otherwise, the walls of the basket will either expand or contract, causing the shape to be lost.

Video tutorial

A text description of even the most basic pattern is always bad when it comes to needlework. Therefore, it is better to watch a master class (video tutorial) on knitting a round basket from knitted yarn with the “Checkmark” pattern. In addition to the general principles of knitting, the video discusses the nuances of the transition from the bottom to the walls, types of seamless connections and the method of closing the last loop. There is a lot to learn!

Square basket made of knitted yarn

Scheme

For knitting a square basket, the “Tick” pattern is no longer enough. The bottom is made according to the square pattern presented below, and the transition to the main pattern is carried out when knitting the walls.

Knitting starts from an amigurumi ring. The first row is highlighted in red - 8 sc, knitted into a ring.

Having knitted the bottom of the basket according to the square pattern, you can proceed to knitting the walls. They are already knitted according to the basic “Tick” pattern, the diagram of which is presented at the beginning of this article.

Good afternoon friends!

Time has turned to spring, and therefore it’s time to think about gifts for the upcoming holidays.

It's so warm here, in my garden even two dandelions have bloomed, tulips have hatched, and they always remind me of the approaching March 8th - a holiday, first of all, for all mothers.

Everyone decides for themselves what to give their mother. I think the most important gift for mom on March 8 is flowers. You can present them in a beautiful wrapper or even in the form of a modest bouquet. It would also be nice to design it in an original and tasteful way.

Mothers of any age will be happy with a handmade gift. Maybe they’ll like this crocheted basket? Especially for those who love knitted comfort in the home.

Crochet basket with flowers

A bright crocheted basket can be useful for fruits or simply for interior decoration.

Of course, I’m attaching a pattern for knitting the basket, and I’ll tell you a little about how to knit it.

The basket consists of square motifs with flowers, very similar to the ones I used to knit a pillow and offer ideas for beautiful knitted blankets.

We don't need a lot of yarn; leftovers of different colors will be enough. But to knit this basket, I specially bought new yarn; I wanted the colors to be bright and rich, but I didn’t have those at home.

Any yarn is suitable: cotton, acrylic, wool blend. We select the appropriate hook, naturally.

Description of knitting a basket

For the basket you need to connect several motifs with flowers. Their number will depend on the thickness of the yarn and the size of the product you need.

My basket turned out to have a diameter of 21 cm and a height of 14 cm. I took a thick yarn, so I only needed to knit 5 motifs.

Knitting floral motif

1st row: in a ring of 6 VPs - 6 single crochets.

2nd row: RLS in every second column of the previous row and 3 VPs between them.

3rd row: in the arches from the VP of the 2nd row we knit 1СБН, 1С1Н, 3С2Н, 1С1Н, 1СБН.

The result is a small flower with three petals.

4th row: RLS in each column with one crochet of the previous row and 3 VP between them.

The flower will be tight, but there is no need to be afraid, everything is correct. This is exactly how the effect of a three-dimensional flower is obtained.

5th row: same as 3rd row. As a result, we get a second tier with six petals.

In the 6th and 7th rows we knit another row of petals. In this case, the beginning of knitting a row is shifted to the top of the petal by pulling the thread in half-columns.

6th row: sc at the top of each petal of the previous row and 5 ch between them.

7th row: in the arches from the VP of the 6th row we knit 1СБН, 1С1Н, 5С2Н, 1С1Н, 1СБН.

Now we change the yarn to green, attach it at the top of the petal, and knit leaves.

8th row: 1VP at the beginning of the row, 5VP, 3 double crochets, knitted together, in the second column of the second petal, 5VP, 3C2H together in the same column of the second petal, 2VP, 1C1H in the 6th column of the second petal, 3VP , 1С1Н in the second column of the third petal, 2VP, 3С2Н together in the 6th column of the third petal, 5VP, 3С2Н together in the same column of the third petal, 5VP, 1СБН at the top of the 4th petal.

9th row: attach the yarn of the main color (I have gray) and tie all sides of the motif with single crochets. In the corners we knit 3 VP between the columns.

Collecting items in a basket

Similarly, you need to connect the remaining motifs of different colors.

I crocheted the motifs together on the reverse side using single crochets. You can also sew from the front side with a needle and thread, making the seams less noticeable and the surface more even.

I tied the top edge of the basket with picot.

For the bottom we knit a regular circle. I am not providing a diagram or description; anyone can probably cope with this task.

We sew the bottom with motifs and the crocheted basket is ready!

I took pictures as best I could from different angles.

Knitted yarn is winning our hearts! You can knit anything from it! It comes in a variety of colors, from pale neutrals to boldly vibrant ones. The products are knitted quickly, the hand is stuffed into even stitches. Today we are crocheting knitted baskets. We will need a No. 8 hook and knitting yarn. My color is called coffee with milk.

From one skein of 100 m of yarn (weighing 290 g) these 2 baskets came out and there was very little left.

Description

We start knitting from the bottom. First we make an amigurumi ring, then we put 6 single crochets into it. We knit tightly so that the contents of the basket do not fall into the holes. (It is more convenient to hold the hook not as a pen when writing, but as a spoon when stirring the salad. This is clearly seen in the second video master class of this article.) We knit a “perfect circle”, making additions first in each loop (in the second row there will be 12 loops) , then through a loop (there will be 18 loops in the third row) and so on (24, 30, 36 loops). I didn't need it anymore. If the basket is wider, then in the fourth row add loops after 2. Try to ensure that the new loops are in a different place, not exactly under the addition of the previous row, so that the bottom is round and not angular. To start knitting the walls and get a bottom designation like mine

you need to knit the first row of the basket wall behind the back wall of the loop of the previous row and through the knot on the wrong side. We don't add any more loops. If you want a basket that is not flat, but wider at the bottom, knit first loosely and then tightly. Next, let's use our imagination! Baskets can be knitted in a variety of patterns. The small basket has a braid pattern, like in this master class.

The wide basket is crocheted according to this video, only I inserted the hook not into the next one, but into the same loop. It takes a lot of yarn. The walls are thick and stable.

We tie the top of the basket with half-columns. We hide the end of the thread from the wrong side.

And here are the MK baskets with a lid. Have fun creating!

I liked knitting with knitted yarn. You can pull it while knitting, or you can straighten the yarn to make it wider. It will be easy for beginners to work with. Practice the skill of straight stitches and receive an exclusive handmade gift.
