The series "Natural Sciences", being an independent publication, is integrated into the family of journals "News of Higher Educational Institutions. Volga Region". Journal “News of higher educational institutions. Volga region. Natural Sciences" provides an opportunity to publish scientific results in various fields of natural sciences, including the following sections (but not limited to): biology (theory of evolution, theoretical biology, bioinformatics, bionics, bioengineering, mathematical modeling of biological processes, cytology, genetics, immunology, molecular biology, biochemistry, biophysics, embryology, virology, microbiology, plant physiology, human and animal physiology, human and animal morphology, zoology, botany, anthropology, toxicology, radiation biology); chemistry (physical, analytical, inorganic, organic, bioorganic, macromolecular compounds); geography (physical, economic and social, historical, toponymy, regional studies); ecology (general ecology, ecology of organisms, populations, communities, ecosystems, the study of the biosphere, ecological biogeochemistry, ecology of microorganisms, plants, animals, soil ecology, hydroecology, general environmental issues, pollution and environmental protection, human ecology, rational use natural resources, environmental monitoring, environmental assessment, environmental management); science education; history of natural sciences; natural sciences and innovations. In this respect, the journal differs from most highly specialized scientific journals and gives all researchers in the natural sciences, primarily in the Volga region, the opportunity to present their results and undergo a benevolent, but “rigid” multi-stage examination according to modern rules in force in international scientific journals. Thus, the main goal of the journal is achieved - the publication of high-quality scientific materials of interest to the world scientific community. The journal publishes original articles containing the results of fundamental and applied research, as well as reviews of leading experts on the subject of the journal. In addition, we publish short (1–5 pages) reports in which new facts are presented or new ideas are presented that have theoretical foundations, but for which there is still not enough experimental data. Reviews of new books, as well as a chronicle of conferences, meetings and forums can be published on the pages of our publication.
