Remembrance of Allah. Benefits and fruits of remembrance of Allah. Remembrance in worldly affairs

“So remember Me, and I will remember you…” (Cow, 152).

Allah Almighty is Gracious and Merciful, He is the creator of all things, He is the owner of the past, present and future. The human heart must not cease to make remembrance of His majesty and praise of His name.

The remembrance of Allah is as necessary to the believer as water is to a fish. Without dhikr, the human heart becomes hard, and the connection with the Lord is broken. In the remembrance of the Almighty - the happiness of both worlds, help and support from Allah and the purification of the soul. That is why the Holy Book of Allah and the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) calls us, no matter what happens, to remember Allah Almighty at any time.

Allah Almighty notes in the Qur'an that the believers “remember Allah while standing, sitting and on their side and reflect on the creation of the heavens and the earth: “Our Lord! You didn't do it in vain. You are pure! Protect us from the torment in the Fire ”(Ali Imran, 3:191) and thus informs us of the possibility of remembering Allah in any state.

The hadith says: “On the Day of Judgment, a person will be shown the time that he spent in his life. And he will greatly regret every hour he has spent without the remembrance of Allah.”

Dhikr is performed with the tongue, heart and body. Remembrance of the tongue consists in pronouncing the beautiful names of Allah, in praising Him, in turning to Him with a prayer of du`a and in reading the Qur'an. Remembrance with the body consists in the complete submission of all organs of our body to the commands of Allah and a warning against the forbidden. When we talk about worship with the heart, we mean our devotion to Him with all our heart, with all our soul, in all our words, deeds and deeds.

For the remembrance of Allah, a sincere intention, sincerity in the heart and saying:

  1. La ilaha illa llah.

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “The most valuable and worthy thing that I and the Prophets who preceded me said is the phrase: “La ilaha illa llah.” “Between the slave, after the pronunciation of “La ilaha illa llah” and the Almighty, there are no veils,” said the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Almighty said that the phrase "La ilaha illa llah" is His court, and whoever enters it will be protected from His punishment.

“The one who says “La ilaha illa llah” seventy thousand times will be saved from the fire of Hell,” said the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). It is said that this phrase has a lot of hidden wisdom, miracles and abilities. One of them is the purification of hearts. This kind of dhikr is like an abrasive that removes rust and dirt, while other remembrances are like soap.

  1. Subhana-Llahi wa bi-hamdi-hi, subhana-Llahi-l-‘Azym.

And the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:

“(There are) two words that the Merciful loves, they are easy on the tongue, but heavy on the Scales: “Glory to Allah and praise to Him, glory to Allah the Great!”.

It is also reported that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: “Whoever says “Subhana-Llahi wa bi-hamdi-hi” (glory to Allah and praise to Him), a palm tree will be planted in Paradise.”

It is reported that Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “(One day) the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said to me:“ Shall I tell you which words Allah loves the most? Indeed, the most beloved words of Allah (are the words): “Glory to Allah and praise to Him!” (Subhana-Llahi wa bi-hamdi-hi!) ”(Muslim)

It is narrated from the words of Abu Malik al-Ash'ari, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: “Purification is half of faith, (the words)“ Praise be to Allah ”(Al-hamdu Allah) will fill the Scales, and (the words) “Glory to Allah and praise to Allah” (Subhana-Llahi wa-l-hamdu li-Llahi) will fill (the space) between heaven and earth ”(Muslim).

  1. Al-Hamdu li-Llahi.

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: -Llahi), “There is no god but Allah” (La ilaha illa-Llahu) and “Allah is Great!” (Allahu Akbar!) I love more than what the sun rises on!” (Muslim).

  1. Allahu Akbar.

It is reported that Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, said: “(One day) to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and welcome him, the poor from among the Muhajirs came and said:“ The rich will occupy (all) the highest steps and gain eternal bliss : they pray like us and fast like us, but (besides this) they have the advantage of having wealth (thanks to which) they perform Hajj and Umrah, take part in the struggle in the path of Allah and give alms. (After hearing them, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)) said: “So tell you about that, thanks to which you will be able to catch up with those who are ahead of you and get ahead of those who come after you, and no one will surpass you except those who will do the same? They said: “Of course, O Messenger of Allah!” (Then the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “After each prayer, say thirty-three times “Glory to Allah” (Subhana-Llahi), “Praise be to Allah” (Al-hamdu li-Llahi) and “Allah is Great "(Allahu Akbar)" (Al-Bukhari; Muslim).

  1. Astagfiru Allah, Astagfiru Allah.

It is reported that Sauban, may Allah be pleased with him, said: “Having finished praying, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, always asked Allah for forgiveness three times, and then said: “O Allah, You are Peace and from You is peace Blessed are You, O Possessor of majesty and generosity! (Anta-s-salamu wa min-kya-s-salamu, tabarakta, ya Za-l-jalali wa-l-ikrami!).
Al-Awza'i, who was one of the transmitters of this hadith, was asked: “How (should) ask Allah for forgiveness?” (To which) he replied: “Say:“ I ask Allah for forgiveness, I ask Allah for forgiveness ”( Astagfiru Allah, Astagfiru Allah)" (Muslim).

  1. La ilaha illa-llahu wahda-hu la sharika la-hu la-hu-l-mulku, wa la-hu-l-hamdu wa huva ‘ala kulli shay’in kadirun.

It was narrated from the words of Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: “Whoever says a hundred times a day: “There is no god but Allah alone, Who has no partner, To Him belongs the power, praise is to Him and He can do everything ”(La ilaha illa-Llahu wahda-hu la sharika la-hu la-hu-l-mulku, wa la-hu-l-hamdu wa huva 'ala kulli shayin kadirun ), (receive) the same (reward, which is due) for the release of ten slaves, and a hundred good deeds (commission) will be written to him, and (records) of his hundred bad deeds will be erased, and they will serve him as protection from the shaitan on this day until the evening, and no one can do better than what he did, except (such) a person who will do even more.

  1. “Allahumma, gfir li, va-rham-ni, wa-hdi-ni va-rzuk-ni!”

Allah is Great, (much more Great than anything else), much praise to Allah, glory to Allah, the Lord of the worlds! And no one has power and strength except Allah, the Almighty, the Wise!” (La ilaha illa-llahu wahda-hu la sharika la-hu. Allahu Akbar kabiran, wa-l-hamdu li-llahi ka-siran wa subhana-llahi, Rabbi-l-alamina! Wa la haula wa kuvvata illa bi- Llahi-l-'Azizi-l-Hakimi!) ”(Bedouin) said:“ This is for my Lord, but what about me? (The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Say: “O Allah, forgive me, and have mercy on me, and guide me to the right path, and grant me livelihood!” (Allahumma, - gfir li, va-rham-ni, wa-hdi-ni va-rzuk-ni!)

  1. La ilaha illa-llahu wahda-hu la sharika la-hu, la-hu-l-mulku, wa la-hu-l-hamdu wa huva ‘ala kulli shayin kadirun! Allahumma, la mani'a li-ma a'taita, wa la mu'tiya li-ma mana'ta wa la yanfa'u za-l-jaddi min-kya-l-jaddu.

It is reported that al-Mughira bin Shu'ba, may Allah be pleased with him, said: “After finishing praying and saying the words of taslim, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, used to say:“ There is no god but Allah alone, Who has no partner. To Him belongs dominion, and to Him be praise, and He can do everything! O Allah, no one will deprive what You have given, and no one will bestow what You have deprived, and the wealth of the possessor of wealth will be useless before You ”(La ilaha illa-Allahu wahda-hu la sharika la-hu, la-hu- l-mulku, wa la-hu-l-hamdu wa huwa 'ala kulli shayin kadirun! Allahumma, la mani'a li-ma a'taita, wa la mu'tya li-ma mana'ta wa la yanfa'u za -l-jaddi min-kya-l-jaddu).

  1. Allahumma, inni a'uzu bi-kya min al-jubni wa-l-bukhli, wa a'uzu bi-kya min an uradda ilya arzali-l-'die, wa a'uzu bi-kya min fitnati-d-dunya wa a'uzu bi-kya min fitnati-l-kabri).

It is reported from the words of Sa'd bin Abu Waqqas, may Allah be pleased with him, that after the completion of the prayers, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, used to turn to Allah for protection, saying the words: “O Allah, verily, I resort to Your protection from cowardice and avarice, and I resort to Your protection from being a decrepit old man, and I resort to Your protection from the temptations of this world, and I resort to Your protection from the temptations of the grave (Allahumma, inni a'uzu bi- kya min al-jubni wa-l-bukhli, wa a'uzu bi-kya min an uradda ilya arzali-l-'die, wa a'uzu bi-kya min fitnati-d-dunya wa a'uzu bi-kya min fitnati-l-kabri).

  1. Allahumma, a’inni ‘ala dhikri-kya, wa shukri-kya wa husni ‘ibadati-kya.

It is reported from the words of Mu'adh, may Allah be pleased with him, that (one day) the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, took his hand and said: “O Mu'adh, I swear by Allah, truly, I love you! ", and then he said:" I punish you, O Mu'az, in no case do not forget to say at the end of each prayer: "O Allah, help me to remember You, and thank You, and properly worship You" (Allahumma, a'inni 'ala dhikri-kya, va shukri-kya va husni 'ibadati-kya).

  1. Allahumma, inni a'uzu bi-kya min 'azabi jahannam, wa min 'azabi-l-kabri, wa min fitnati-l-mahya wa-l-mamati wa min sharri fitnati-l-masihi-d-dajjali.

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “After saying (words) of tashahhud, let any of you turn to Allah for protection from four (things) and say: “O Allah, truly I resort to Your protection from the torment of Hell, and from the torment of the grave, and from the trials of life and death, and from the evil of the temptation of the Antichrist!” (Allahumma, inni a'uzu bi-kya min 'azabi jahannam, wa min 'azabi-l-kabri, wa min fitnati-l-mahya wa-l-mamati wa min sharri fitnati-l-masihi-d-dajjali!) .

It is reported that Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, said: When the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, stood up for prayer, at the end of it between tashahhud and taslim, he often said among other things: “O Allah, forgive me that what I did before and what I put aside, what I did secretly and openly, what I transgressed the boundaries of, and what You know better than me! You are the Pusher and You are the Pusher, there is no god but You!” (Allahumma, gfir li ma kaddamtu, wa ma akhhartu, wa ma asrartu, wa ma a'lantu, wa ma asraftu wa ma Anta a'lamu bi-hi minni! Anta-l-Mukaddimu wa Anta-l-Mu'akhkhir, la ilaha illa anta!).

  1. Subhana-kya, Allahumma, Rabbana-na, wa bi-hamdi-kya, Allahumma, gfir li.

(Subhana-kya, Allahumma, Rabbana-na, wa bi-hamdi-kya, Allahumma, gfir li!)

  1. Subbukhun, Kuddusun, Rabbu-l-malya'ikyati va-r-ruhi.

It is narrated from the words of Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, that, making his waist and earthly bows, the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and welcome him, used to say: “Glorious, Most Holy, Lord of the angels and the Spirit (Subbuhun, Kuddusun, Rabbu l-malya'ikyati va-r-ruhi).

Azkars are words of remembrance of Allah or words that are considered a prayer. By pronouncing them, a person receives retribution from the Almighty and grace.

There are azkars read in prayer, after namaz, before leaving the house, before eating, after eating, etc. Each of these azkars is pronounced at a certain time, in certain situations. For example, "Bismillah" is said before a meal, and "Alhamdulillah" after a meal.

It is the same with other azkars and prayers ..

There are also prayers that are not associated with any conditions, which it is desirable to read constantly. Such prayers, which are also a remembrance of the Almighty, have their own reading rules that must be observed. Whoever wants to read prayers constantly, he must study the ethics of constant remembrance, so that later his prayers will not be in vain. There is a hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), which says that even a reader of the Qur'an can receive a curse from the Qur'an he reads. For what reason? Due to non-compliance with the necessary ethics of reading the Qur'an. However, the ethics of the Quran is a separate topic, which is disclosed in sufficient detail in reliable Islamic sources. We are now talking about some mistakes in daily prayers and adhkars.

Let's take a few examples.

To the question "How are you?" It is supposed to answer: "Alhamdulillah (praise be to Allah), good." To answer in this case "Subhanallah, good" will not be correct. One of my comrades, calling his friend, asked him: “How are you, what are you doing?” He replied: "Subhanallah, I'm walking in the park." Is it appropriate in this case to accompany your answer: “I’m walking in the park” with the expression “Subhanallah” (i.e. “God be blessed from all qualities and attributes that do not correspond to Him”)?! Another comes to the diner and says, "Subhanallah, give me one shawarma." What is the connection between shawarma and this remembrance of Allah?! There was another case when one girl, outraged that some Muslims talk about worldly affairs in the mosque, said: “They sit in the mosque and,“ bismillah ”, begin to talk about love.” It is not clear, and here "Bismillah". This remembrance means “with the name of Allah”, it is pronounced before starting to do something - for example, before entering the house, before eating, before reading the Koran, etc. But these people did not start a conversation with “bismillah” in the mosque of love. It's funny! Although no, it's not funny anymore... This is carelessness in relation to prayers.

In such cases, azkars lose their true spiritual meaning, which means that the one who uttered them may well lose the reward for reading the prayer.

For example, "Al-Fatiha" is a very valuable sura, who read it receives a huge reward. Let's ask ourselves: will we get the full reward for reciting this surah in the sitting prayer? Not! Sitting, they read “at-Tashahhud” (“Attahiyata”), and not “Fatiha”. Another question: will we be rewarded for reading Surah Al-Fatihah in a garbage dump or in a toilet? Not! Such a disrespectful attitude towards the sura is a sin. So it is with the rest of the Azkars. Before pronouncing them out loud, a person should think: is he wrong? I recommend to everyone, and first of all to myself, to study the ethics of reading azkars and prayers, because this is not empty chatter, but the remembrance of Allah Almighty.

I would like to draw your attention to some key points:

1. Azkar should not be read for show .. Ask yourself how many times you read these azkars in private and how many times you say them in public, and you will see the degree of your sincerity. But this is not the main criterion for striving for ostentation. Such a desire is very hidden and very dangerous in a spiritual sense. It not only negates our good deeds, but can also turn them into sin.

2. The level of piety and righteousness of a person is not determined by the number of azkars and prayers pronounced by him in public . God-fearing is something hidden in the human heart. I do not deny that the behavior of a God-fearing person is different from the behavior of a sinner, but appearance is not the main indicator of God-fearing, and even more so, the careless use of azkars cannot serve as proof of piety. Therefore, a person who reads azkars should not exalt himself above those who do not read them aloud. Perhaps, alone with the Almighty, he reads as many adhkars at a time as you will not read publicly in your entire life.

3. Say azkara when it is appropriate . Read in reliable books or articles and remember where, how and when one or another adhkar or a certain prayer should be read. This is very important, because violation of the rules leads to non-observance of ethics in relation to the azkars, because prayers with the name of the Creator must be said with the appropriate ethics. Ethics are both desirable and mandatory. Failure to comply with desirable norms leads to the loss of the reward for prayer. May the Almighty help us. Amine!

Gamzat Magomedov

Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said:

“Do not talk much without the remembrance of Allah, for from many conversations without the remembrance of Allah, the heart hardens, and the one who is the most distant from Allah is the one with a hard heart.”(Tirmizi).

Subhanallah! Our hearts are hardened without the remembrance of Allah. The remembrance of Allah nourishes the heart, and when we do not do this, it is not surprising that, for no apparent reason, discouragement attacks us.

The Muslim scholar Ibn al-Qayyim stated:

“If a servant of God remembers Allah and aspires to Him, Allah continuously regales him from the cup of Grace. The heart that forgets Allah is hardened and emptied to the extent that it has forgotten Him.”

For those who think that Islam is something difficult for us, let us recall what answer the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) gave to a man who turned to him with a request: “O Messenger of Allah! Sharia law is too much for me. Show me what I need to hold on to." To this the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) replied:

"May your tongue never cease to be wet from the remembrance of Allah"(Tirmizi).

What is the result of remembering? Dhikr cleanses the heart of rust and leads to the remembrance of us by the Almighty. In a beautiful hadeeth qudsi Allah says:

“I will be what My servant thinks I am, and I am with him when he remembers Me. If he remembers Me in his soul, then I will remember him about Myself, and if he remembers Me in society (other people), then I will remember him among those who are better than them ... ”(Bukhari, Muslim).

What is remembrance?

Remembrance of Allah means certain dhikrs (such as saying “subhanallah”, “la ilaha ilallah”, etc.). In addition, these are any actions related to Allah or mentioning Allah. Everything that is done with thoughts of Allah is dhikr.

Types of dhikr

Let's clarify. What part of what we do is dhikr?

Intention

When doing something good, we should always try to be conscious of the fact that we are doing it for the sake of Allah. When doing a good deed, talk to Allah, ask Him to accept this deed from you and allow you to do even more good deeds.

Add intentions such as doing this deed in the name of Allah, following the Sunnah, helping Muslim brothers and people - the more you remember Allah, the more He will remember you, and this will inevitably affect your life.

When you do something good, remember that good things must be done from the heart. Often we do many things mechanically: give alms, make dua ... This is done without the participation of the heart, without special feelings or emotions, and even more so without understanding that this is done for the sake of Allah.

Meanwhile, these things need to be done, knowing that they contain a cure for the heart, that one cannot do without them, and when we fall into despondency, this is precisely what heals: helping one's neighbor, praying in prostration to Allah.

Appeal to Him

“If he [My slave] comes towards me on foot, I will run towards him.” (Al-Bukhari)

It is impossible that we turn to the Lord and He rejects us. Let us recall the hadiths about those who turn to Him:

“Allah rejoices at the conversion of His servant when he turns to Him, stronger than the one of you who rode his camel in the desert, and she ran away from him, and she had his food and drink. And he despaired of finding her. He came to some tree and lay down to sleep in its shade, and when he was in that position, he suddenly saw a camel standing in front of him. He took her by the reins and joyfully said: “Oh Lord, You are my servant, and I am Your Lord,” making a mistake due to great joy. ”(Muslim).

In a beautiful hadeeth qudsi Allah says:

“O son of Adam, truly, I will forgive you, regardless of what sins you have committed…” (Tirmizi).

"Remember Allah in joy and He will remember you in sorrow"(Tirmizi).

Thanks to Allah

“If you are grateful, I will give you even more…” (Quran, 14:7).

To give thanks means to acknowledge and appreciate. The more you see the blessings of Allah, His presence in your life, the more it should help soften your heart.

Take time every evening to thank the Lord for all the blessings of the day: not only will you be amazed every time how many there are, but this will be a true recognition of the presence of Allah in your life.

Remembrance in worldly affairs

“Remember your Lord much and praise Him before sunset and in the morning” (Quran, 3:41).

It is known that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) always remembered Allah. Therefore, we have dua and dhikr for almost all occasions, from making a toilet and ending with words in response to someone's wish.

The Prophet had a special remembrance that he spoke every morning and every evening. Each of these words and sentences is priceless, since it not only cleanses the heart and removes any anxieties from it - the Prophet uttered them for the sake of protection, and the consciousness of this in itself should pacify and calm us.

At the same time, it is very important to have complete confidence (yakin): if the Prophet told us that certain words have such and such an effect, we must trust him implicitly.

Efforts must be made to understand these words so that they really penetrate our hearts.

May Allah make us people who...

“Remember Allah while standing, sitting and on their side and meditate on the creation of the heavens and the earth: “Our Lord! You didn't do it in vain. You are pure! Protect us from the torment of the Fire.” (Quran 3:191).

Theologians believe that it is better to remember the Almighty by pronouncing the word "Allah", because this is His greatest name, which has absorbed the dignity of the meanings and sifats of all other names. They claim that the Almighty said: "You remember Me with the pronunciation" Allah "". Many say that this is said about the remembrance by the pronunciation “La ilaha illa llah”, it also contains the name “Allah”.

One of the hidden wisdoms of this dhikr is that all its letters are pronounced from the inside of a person (which means that it is pronounced from the soul, from the heart in accordance with the language). The fact that this formula is of great importance for Him, the Almighty told the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) (meaning): "Truly, there is no deity but Allah." But the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) knew that there is no other deity except Allah alone, which means that the meaning of what was said is as follows: “Keep, Muhammad, what you know, and do not stray from it.”

According to tawheed (Monotheism), the Alims thoroughly convey that the meaning of the phrase “La ilaha illa llah” with a small number of letters combines everything that is characteristic of the Almighty, comes to the point that can be given and not given to Him. Its pronunciation along with “Muhammadun rasullullah” contributes to the knowledge of Islam in the heart of a slave.

Sharia does not accept Islam for any person except by the pronunciation of the shahadat formula, which includes both of these phrases. Therefore, it is better for a reasonable person to pronounce it more, while keeping Allah in the heart. Then he will see the countless secret wonders of these words (insha Allah).

The virtues of the formula "La ilaha illa llah" are listed in the Qur'an, in the hadiths. One of them: “If one who at least once in his life from the bottom of his heart utters “La ilaha illa llah Muhammadun rasulullah” and dies in this statement, is not an atheist, and he will enter Paradise.”

Reward for Zikr

Conditions for getting more reward for pronouncing "La ilaha illa llah":

1. Saying after “La ilaha illa llah” “Muhammadun rasulullah”. The Prophet Khizri (peace be upon him) taught this to Abdulkhalik Guzhduvani (may Allah be pleased with him). Khizri (peace be upon him) from Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) translated as follows: “Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) never said “La ilaha illa llah” without the following “Muhammadun rasulullah”.

But some after "La ilaha illa llah" do not pronounce "Muhammadun rasulullah." Others stop at an even number of their dhikr and recite. Still others recite at the end of their dhikr. All three options are acceptable. If not said out loud, it is highly desirable to keep it in mind. According to the teachings of Guzhduvani (may Allah be pleased with him), one who pronounces “La ilaha illa llah” with his tongue or heart should be detached from everything except Allah. We must try to think about Allah all the time, to have Khuzur. If this is not possible, it is still impossible to stop remembering the Almighty. A person who is in oblivion, with repeated remembrance of the Almighty, according to His will, can reach the degree of Khuzur.

2. The smallest thing for a Khuzur is to have a constant thought that he is in the remembrance of Allah. Its perfection lies in submission to Allah, self-abasement, expansion of the heart for the remembrance of Allah, distraction from everything except Allah and constant awareness of the meaning of what he says.

3. The phrase "La ilaha illa llah" must be pronounced as it is, without adding letters.

From pronouncing this phrase with changes there is no retribution. You can not pause between "la ilaha" and "illa llah." Also, you can’t stretch the first letter “m” with “Muhammad”, stretch “x”. The same requirements apply to the takbir on the holidays "Allahu Akbar valillahil hamd".

Formation of a circle (khalq) during dhikr

The formation of a circle when people gather for the remembrance of Allah is accepted by Shariah, the dignity of which is given in the hadiths. At a time when the caliphate was ruled by Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), the Companions, after performing the afternoon prayer, gathered together in a circle to remember Allah aloud. If some of them recited dhikr softly, Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) sent a man to them to raise their voice. The hadeeth says: “Those who have gathered for dhikr, desiring nothing but the face of Allah, are informed by a voice from heaven:“ You will become sinless from this Majlis. I turned your bad deeds into good ones. Another hadeeth says: “In search of those who have gathered for the remembrance of Allah, the angels go around the earth, and when they find them, they sit in circle after circle of people and pray to the Almighty for the forgiveness of their sins.” During dhikr, it is desirable that there be one leader, so that it sounds in unison, it is also necessary to have a person who finishes it (out loud), be it the one who started it or another.

From the book of Sheikh Ibn Qayyim Jawziya "Blessed Rain of Beautiful Words"\"al-Uwabil as-Sayyib"

Translated by Sarbulatov I.F.

1. The remembrance of Allah drives the devil away, kills him.

2. Pleases the Merciful, He is Great and Glorious.

3. Removes sadness and mental anxieties.

4. Pleases the heart and gladdens it.

5. Strengthens the soul and body.

6. Illuminates the face and heart.

7. Increases life lot.

8. Clothes the commemorator in robes of reverence and honor. Gives it a nice, fresh look.

9. The remembrance of the Almighty generates love for Him, and this is the spirit of Islam, the core of religion, the basis of happiness and salvation.

According to the plan of the Almighty Allah, everything has its own reason. Love arises from constant remembrance. Whoever desires love for Allah must remain in constant remembrance of Him. As, for example, study and repetition are the gates of knowledge, so dhikr is the entrance doors of love, its main street, the most direct road to it.

10. Strengthens self-control, gradually brings a person into the state of "ihsan" and he begins to worship the Almighty, as if seeing Him. A careless dhikr will not reach the position of Ihsan, just as one who sits still will not reach the desired goal.

11. Awakens repentance (Motivates for a constant return) to the Almighty. The more a person is in the remembrance of Allah, the easier it is for him to turn to Him under any circumstances. Allah becomes the “qibla” of his heart, a refuge during troubles and trials.

12. Brings a person closer to the Almighty. The more he remembers Allah, the closer he is to Him. The more unwatchful he is, the farther away from Him.

13. Opens for him the greatest door of knowledge. The more he is in remembrance, the greater his knowledge.

14. When remembering, when the heart is completely subordinate to the Almighty, present with Him, reverence for Him arises. Unlike the careless one, the veil of reverence on whose heart is very thin.

Allah Almighty remembers him. In his book, He said: "Remember Me, I will remember you...". Only in this one, so much honor and respect. Also, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) conveyed to us the following words of his Lord: “Whoever remembers Me secretly, I will mention him about Myself, who remembers Me in society, I will remember in a better society.”

16. Revitalizes the heart. I heard Sheikh-ul-Islam ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy on him) say: “Dhikr is for the heart like water is for the fish. What will the fish feel like if you pull it out of the water?!

17. The remembrance of the Almighty is food for the heart and spirit. A slave who has lost it is like an organism deprived of nourishment.

Once I read the morning prayer with Sheikh ibn Taymiyyah. After it, he sat down and commemorated the Almighty almost until noon, then turned to me and said something like the following words: “This is my breakfast, if I don’t take it, I will weaken.” He also once said to me: “I leave the dhikr only in order to, after resting, start a new one.”

18. Eliminates the corrosion of the soul.

Every thing has its own rust. At the heart it is negligence and passion. Eliminating it in dhikr and istigfar.

19. Releases from the burden of sins. He removes them from the slave, since dhikr refers to the greatest righteous deeds, and, as you know, the good washes away the bad.

20. Removes the alienation between the slave and the Lord, Blessed be He and Exalted. Between the negligent and Allah is dislike, which disappears only with the help of dhikr.

21. Words of reverence, cleansing the Almighty from vices and shortcomings, praising Him are remembered who spoke during a period of misfortune.

22. A slave who remembers Allah in the happy moments of his life, Allah will not leave him in a period of misfortune. Regarding this, it is narrated that when a righteous servant gets into trouble and begins to cry out to the Almighty, asking Him for something, the angels say: “Lord! A familiar voice, a familiar slave." Hearing the voice of a negligent one who turned away from the Almighty, they say: “An unknown voice, an unfamiliar slave.”

23. It is salvation from the punishment of Allah. Mu'adh, may Allah be pleased with him, said: "Nothing saves a person from the punishment of the Almighty like the remembrance of Allah."

24. Dhikr is the cause of the descent of tranquility, the environment of the remembrancer with mercy and the constant presence in the environment of angels.

25. Distracts the tongue from uttering slander, gossip, lies, obscenities and nonsense. A person cannot do without talking. If he is not busy remembering Allah and His orders, then he automatically falls into sin. The only way to get rid of this is dhikr. Life and practice are witnesses to this. Having accustomed his tongue to dhikr, he secured it from lies and idle talk. Tongue dry from dhikr, usually moistened by empty chatter.

26. Meetings where the name of the Most High is commemorated are the places of the presence of angels, while at the gatherings of carelessness there are crowds of demons. The slave must choose what he likes, what he prefers more, as he will be with them both in this world and in the future.

27. Brings happiness to the one who remembers, and to the one who is next to him. He is blessed wherever he is. The careless talker and the one who is with him are unhappy because of their actions.

28. Guarantees the safety of the slave from disgrace on the Day of Resurrection. A place in which the name of the Most High was not mentioned will dishonor and take revenge on a person.

29. Crying alone because of the remembrance of the Almighty, the reason why the slave will be in the shadow of the Throne on the day of the Great Heat.

30. For the practice of remembrance, Allah gives more than those who ask.

31. This is the easiest, easiest kind of worship, the most glorious and most preferred. It is easier to move the tongue than other organs. It is hard to imagine a body part that can be used non-stop, day and night.

32. Dhikr is the seedlings of Paradise. Tirmidhi, may Allah have mercy on him, in his collection cites the hadith of Abdullah bin Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “On the night of Ascension, I met Ibrahim, peace be upon him. He said to me: “Muhammad, give your community greetings from me, and inform them that the lands of Paradise are fertile, its waters are fresh and transparent. The seedlings for her valleys are the words: “Holy is Allah and praise be to Him, there is nothing worthy of worship except Allah and Great is Allah.”

Tirmidhi also cites the hadeeth of Abu Zubair from Jabir, may Allah be pleased with them, that the prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever says:“ Allah is holy and praise be to Him, a palm tree will be planted in Paradise.

33. None of the deeds is rewarded so generously, with blessings and gifts, as for dhikr.

In both authentic collections, there is a hadeeth from Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever says:“ There is nothing worthy of worship except Allah alone; He has no partner. Only to Him belongs dominion and praise, and He is powerful over every thing ”a hundred times a day, it was as if he released ten slaves into the wild. Also, a hundred good deeds will be written to him and a hundred bad deeds will be erased. And he will have protection from the devil for the whole day until it gets dark. No one will do better than him, except for the one who utters these words more times. And whoever says a hundred times a day: “Holy is Allah and praise be to Him,” his sins will be forgiven, even if there are as many of them as sea foam.

In the collection of Muslim from Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, there is a hadith that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “To say“ Allah is holy and praise Him, there is no deity but Allah and Allah is Great, ”I love it than all that over which the sun has risen."

Tirmidhi, may Allah have mercy on him: “... who, at the entrance to the market, says: “There is nothing worthy of worship except Allah alone; He has no partner. To Him alone belongs dominion and praise! He gives life and death; and He is Alive and will never die, in His hands is good and He is powerful over every thing, ”Allah will record a million good deeds for him, erase a million bad ones and raise him up the same number of steps.”

34. Constant dhikr is a guarantee that a person will not forget Him. Such forgetfulness is the cause of the slave's unhappiness in this world and the next, leading to the abandonment of the interests of his soul. The Almighty said: “Do not be like those who forgot Allah, and Allah made them forget themselves. They are libertines."

When a slave forgets himself, turns away from what benefits her, carried away by other things, he certainly perishes. He is like someone who sowed a field, grew a garden, took up raising livestock, or took up something else that requires care and constant supervision, and then became careless about them, left all this, doing something else. Naturally, he will not be able to extract the right thing from it, he will definitely spoil them.

All of the above things can be looked after by another person, but who will help the one who himself doomed his soul to death, misfortune, leaving and forgetting it, distracted from its interests, stopped caring about it.

The only way to protect yourself from this is to constantly remember Allah, so that the tongue is always occupied with it, taking the place of that without which it cannot live. Dhikr should be turned into food, without accepting which his body will weaken and disappear, into cold water during severe thirst, into clothes in heat and cold, into a good dwelling in winter and summer. The slave should put the remembrance of Allah in a higher position than what was listed. After all, can spiritual decay and death of the heart, after which there is no hope for something good, be compared with the decay and death of the body, after which eternal good is quite possible. This benefit of remembering Allah alone would be enough.

And whoever forgets Allah, He will make him forget himself, and on the Day of Judgment he will leave him in punishment. The Almighty said: “And whoever turns away from the remembrance of Me, he will truly have a cramped life! And on the Day of Resurrection We will revive him blind. He will say: “Lord, why did You raise me blind, because I used to be able to see?” He will answer: “Thus my signs came to you. And you forgot them - and so today you will be left.

That is, you will be left in torment, just as you turned away from Our verses, did not remember and did not practice what is in them. Refusing to remember Allah includes renouncing His book, not wanting to remember your Lord, His names and attributes, orders, blessings and favors with this book. That is: “he who turns away from My book, does not follow it, does not meditate on it, does not live by it, does not understand it, then his life will be cramped, gloomy, passing in torment.”

Crowding is a crushed, unhappy, miserable condition. Someone says that this life is torment in the grave, but it would be more correct that it embraces punishments in this world and "barzakh". That is, he will experience suffering in both worlds, and on the Day of Judgment he will be left in torment. This is the exact opposite of who is the successful lucky one. He has the most pleasant life here in this world, and the best reward awaits him in "barzakh" and in the world to come. Allah Almighty said about them:

“Whoever has done good, be it a man or a woman, and he is a believer, We will revive him with a good life.” This is the reward in this mortal world.

Then He said, "And let us give them their reward even better than what they did." This is their reward in "barzakh" and the world to come.

The Almighty said: “And those who emigrated for the sake of Allah, after they were oppressed, We will bring them out of this world into a beautiful one, and the reward of the next life will be greater if they knew.” “And ask forgiveness from your Lord, repent to Him, and He will give you a good inheritance until a certain time.”

It is in this world, after that He said: "And he will give to every possessor of good His mercy."

And this is in the world to come: “Say: “O my servants who believe, fear your Lord! To those who have done good in this life, good. And the land of Allah is wide. Verily, those who endure will receive their reward without counting.”

In these four places, the Almighty indicated that He would reward the doer of good for his righteous deeds in this and the next world. That is, for good deeds, a preliminary reward is necessarily due, just like evil is also rewarded in advance.

I heard that Shaykh-ul-Islam ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah sanctify his soul, said: “Indeed, in this mortal world there is a garden that did not enter it here, it will not enter the Gardens of the future world.”

One day he said to me, “What can my enemies do to me? The Qur'an and the Sunnah are in my chest, wherever I go, they are always with me. Truly, imprisonment for me is solitude, violent death is evidence in the path of Allah, exile from my homeland is a journey.

Being in the prison fortress, he said: “Even having distributed alms in gold, the size of this fortress, I could not repay this mercy,” or he said: “I could repay those who were the cause of the good that I received in it.”

In conclusion, he said in prostration: “O Allah, help me to remember and give thanks and worship You well.” “The prisoner is the one who kept his heart from Allah Almighty, the captive is the one who was captured by his passion.” Once inside the citadel for prisoners, he looked at its walls, and said: "And a wall was erected between them, at which the gate: the inside is her mercy, and the outside - from her side - punishment."

Allah knows, I have not seen anyone whose life was better than his, despite all his domestic difficulties, discomfort, imprisonment, threats and harassment. He was the most magnanimous, strong spirit, cheerful, from his face breathed the freshness of pleasure. When fear intensified in us, bad thoughts took possession of us, and the earth became narrow for us, we went to him, and it was enough for us to see him, hear his speech, as all our worries disappeared, turning into joy, strength, conviction and calmness.
