Nowadays, the type of kanzashi needlework – making jewelry from ribbons – is becoming increasingly popular. These jewelry allow you to emphasize individuality and add a zest to everyone, be it a mature woman or a two-month-old baby, a teenager or a girl. If you want to create a charming Kanzashi dandelion, a master class with step-by-step photos will do all the hard work for you!

Every born needlewoman can learn to make such jewelry herself if she has the desire and a little time.

Materials for summer decor

This master class on creating a kanzashi dandelion is designed for completely inexperienced needlewomen who are just beginning to learn a new hobby. Before starting work, we recommend that you read our other publication.

To work you will need:

  • ribbon 6 mm wide, yellow (any shade of your choice);
  • felt circle with a diameter of 3.5 cm;
  • glue gun;
  • scissors;
  • lighter or candle (whichever is more convenient to work with);
  • centimeter or ruler;
  • tweezers;
  • base (elastic band, hairpin, bandage).

First of all, divide the tape into pieces 8 cm long. You need 45-50 such pieces.

Formation of petals

From each piece, make a dandelion petal in the kanzashi style. To do this, fold the ribbon in half, forming a loop, and singe the ends with a candle (or lighter).

You will get petals, of which you will need 45-50 pieces.

Assembling a flower

Take a felt circle and a glue gun. Apply a drop of glue to the edge of the circle.

Glue the kanzashi dandelion petal.

After the first glued row, glue the second, third, fourth rows in the same order and so on until the end.

When the center is sealed, glue several petals inside the flower vertically in a free order, thus making a lush center. And the dandelion is ready.

The last stage of preparing the decoration is the base. Choose a hairpin, elastic band or bandage if you wish and glue it to the dandelion (on the back of the flower on the felt).

Dandelion-kanzashi is ready!

The color of the ribbon can be varied. You can take any colors and shades. You can mix several colors in one product. You can change the diameter of the felt circle and change the length of each segment.

It all depends on your imagination and desire, on where you want to wear the product, and to whom. Remember that charm and beauty are available at any age. It all depends on the person himself.

Today, the art of tsumami kanzashi is becoming increasingly popular among fashionistas. This interesting technique was presented to us by representatives of the Land of the Rising Sun. This unusual craft is based on classic Japanese origami. Only in this case the products are made from silk materials.

In the skillful hands of craftswomen, satin ribbons turn into amazing flowers and unique floral arrangements. With such little things you can decorate your hair, clothes, and room interior. We offer a small master class on creating dandelion kanzashi.

A yellow flower is a symbol of the sun and the long-awaited spring. It looks very beautiful on a hairpin or hoop. Kanzashi dandelion can be used to decorate a handbag or a new blouse or skirt. For the craft you will need 5 meters of yellow satin ribbon, 5 centimeters wide. The size of the flower can be changed depending on your wishes. For small flowers, it is better to choose a ribbon 2 centimeters wide.

To work you will need:

  • yellow and green ribbons;
  • glue;
  • indelible pencil;
  • green felt;
  • glass;
  • metal ruler;
  • burner;
  • scissors.

Manufacturing process:

  • cut the ribbon depending on the required size of the flower. From 1.5 meters of material you will get a Kanzashi dandelion about 7 centimeters in size;
  • place the tape on the glass surface;
  • we retreat half a centimeter from the edges and put marks every 3 millimeters;
  • apply a ruler and use a burner to make cuts between the marks on the entire tape;
  • fold the dandelion kanzashi blank in half, face up;
  • Now in several places you should spread glue and press. This will make it easier to carry out various manipulations with it in the future;
  • coat the bottom (where it is not cut) with glue along the entire length and roll it into a roll. You can cheat a little and use a toothpick for this job. This is especially convenient when making a very small kanzashi dandelion. To do this, you need to drop a drop of glue on the end of the stick and carefully wind the folded ribbon, not forgetting to lightly coat it with adhesive;
  • We securely fix the end of the material on the kanzashi dandelion blank, let it fasten and straighten the petals.

  • Next, we make kanzashi dandelion leaves. There are several ways to do this. The simplest method is as follows: take a thin, green tape, place it on the glass, mark 0.5 centimeters from the edge and cut out small triangles;
  • Carefully coat the bottom of the ribbon with glue and apply it to the base of the yellow Kanzashi dandelion bud.

Jewelry that imitates fresh flowers does not lose its relevance. True, wreaths and hair clips made from artificial roses, lilies and other luxurious flowers have already become a little familiar. But the theme of dandelions has not yet been fully explored by fashionistas. I propose to take advantage of the fact that summer is coming (besides, graduation time is ahead) and make a luxurious accessory with your own hands - a fluffy dandelion.

It can be worn as a brooch, hairpin, headband. Can be used as an unusual wedding accessory. Or maybe your imagination will suggest other options?

The last photo shows Tatyana (drakon4ik), who published a master class on creating this accessory on the “Country of Masters” website.

So, she took a white satin ribbon 3 cm wide.

I opened the edges of the ribbon to a width of about 2–2.5 cm. I cut off this loose piece with an allowance – a whole ribbon 0.5–1 cm wide.

Tatyana made 10 such segments. And then I cut each strip into 4-5 parts.

Then she took a special thin wire covered with gray paper and cut it into 5 cm pieces. (If the wire is longer, the dandelion will be larger.)

Then she dripped a drop of hot glue onto each satin blank and, until the glue cooled, wrapped the fabric around the wire.

She applied the center of each resulting panicle to a hot iron, and the panicles turned into umbrellas.

Tatyana cut a foam ball with a diameter of 3 cm in half, and glued a circle of felt to the cut of one of the halves.

She applied the threads remaining from the loose ribbon to this base, smoothed it with her palm and trimmed off the excess. It was possible to coat the ball with PVA glue in advance, but Tatyana did without it.

All that remains is to stick the umbrellas into the fluffy blank, dripping hot glue onto the ends. You need to stick from the center to the edges.

This is how beautiful it turned out.
