Aliya Mustafina was born on September 30, 1994 in Yegorievsk near Moscow. Her parents brought her to the sports section at the age of six, and soon she began to win in various children's competitions.

Bobsleigh competitions often take place on the American continent. Due to the difference in time, Mustafina and Zaitsev hardly slept, since the free time of one invariably overlapped with the other's night sleep. By the way, it was thanks to her future husband that Aliya decided to still compete at the Olympics in Rio, although she herself was ready to give up everything - the path to the second Olympics was too difficult. Due to a series of injuries, I had to train, constantly overcoming pain.
Lesha said: there is so little time left before the Olympics, are you really going to leave like this? And I thought that for the sake of both of us I should perform there, ”Mustafina says.
The result of this performance shocked the entire gymnastic world. After so many severe injuries, the Russian woman won three medals at once in Rio, one of which, in the uneven bars exercise, was gold. Alexey Zaitsev met his beloved at the airport, although at that time few knew about their romance. But soon followed the wedding, which, however, was not too magnificent. Aliya has such a character: extra pathos and solemnity - this is not at all about her.
There was nothing grandiose, - says Mustafina. - We didn't invite a bunch of guests. Restaurant, limousine - in principle, everything is like everyone else. I chose the dress in one day, just put it on and realized that I don’t even want to try on others.
But Zaitsev made an offer to his beloved in a special way. Although the decision to marry was made mutually, Alex subsequently arranged a surprise that will surely go down in family history.
I came to Lesha's home in Krasnodar and saw that balloons were hung around the house, - says Aliya. - They had arrows, all sorts of inscriptions, which I followed and found the place where the ring was hidden. We used to talk about the wedding, so I didn’t really have a shock. But it was still very nice.
During the period of active training, the chores of family life passed by Mustafina. Eating, sleeping - everything had to obey a strict schedule, and the lion's share of the time was taken up by work in the gym. Now Aliya is happy to plunge into the arrangement of her own home.
All these troubles are a joy to me, - says Mustafina. - For a long time, while preparing for the competition, I did not have enough. Now I'm happy to catch up. Lesha likes everything, no matter what I cook. And whenever possible, he helps me with everything around the house.
Home comfort in the apartment of Mustafina and Zaitsev is guarded by a red cat named Fox. Aliya is not afraid of any allergies, even in the light of the appearance of a child.
The fox has been living with us for a very long time, and no one has ever had allergies, Mustafina says. “Therefore, there are no concerns about this. She brings only joy.
Another nice addition to Aliya's current, non-gymnastic life is the absence of the need to use cosmetics. During the performance, the makeup of the athlete should be bright so that it can be seen from the stands.

I GO TO THE BOBSLEY COMPETITION WITH PLEASURE
Aliya's gymnastic history is reminiscent of a fairy tale. A year before the Olympic Games in London, Mustafina received a severe injury on landing from a vault - a rupture of the cruciate ligaments of the knee. After her, the question was not so much about returning to sports, but about a full life in general.
But together with her then coach Alexander Alexandrov, Mustafina did something truly incredible. The question of her performance in London remained open until the very last moment. But Aliya took to the mat and won a full set of awards, including gold in her favorite exercise on uneven bars and bronze in the most prestigious category - all-around.
After London, Mustafina's career again did not go smoothly. Here and new injuries, and a change of coach - now Aliya began to work with Sergei Starkin. At the time of the transition, few believed in the success of the new tandem. Time and constant health problems played against Mustafina. Initially, Aliya generally relied more on team competitions, trying to help our young renewed team. And in the end, the girls pulled out to the silver Olympic awards, and she herself turned out to be an absolute winner.
Aleksey Zaitsev cannot yet boast of such sports feats, but in bobsledding and success in an adult career often come later. Now our overclocker has powerful support in the form of a spouse. While Mustafina is sick on TV, but it is possible that he will soon appear in the stands.
If there is such an opportunity, I would love to go on a bobsleigh, - Aliya admits. - I can’t say that I understand it professionally, but when the occasion arises, I watch the competition with pleasure. I root for Lesha, I note for myself some points that we can discuss later. It is unlikely that my experience can be very useful to him - after all, we have too different sports. But I want to be able to just support and be aware of what is happening in sports.
Surprisingly, the young couple has not even had a single vacation together yet. Mustafina and Zaitsev have traveled so much as athletes that now the best rest for them is just to be at home together.
We just didn't have time to go somewhere, because our schedules didn't match,” says Mustafina. - And in general, I can not say that I love to travel. I have been to competitions in many countries, and sometimes it is interesting to see something new. But if you ask where is the best place for me, then I will answer - at home.
Most recently, during the next European Championship, Mustafina made her debut as a TV commentator. Now it is already obvious that even in non-sporting life Aliya will definitely be in demand - at least on television, at least as a coach or consultant. But Mustafina still does not leave thoughts about returning to the carpet.
Lesha is still going to perform, so I don’t know, Mustafina says. - I will not make any statements yet.
Gymnast Ksenia Semenova is afraid to touch her husband's feet
It just so happened that last year several of our famous gymnasts got married. And one of them received a marriage proposal from her beloved guy.
* At the end of September, the wedding of two gymnasts - ex-world champions Xenia Semenova and winner of three Olympic medals in Rio 2016 Denis Ablyazin. The governor of the Penza region sent congratulations to the newlyweds Ivan Belozertsev.
According to Ksenia, they have known each other for more than ten years - they trained together at a base near Moscow. The wedding was played in Novomoskovsk, Tula region - this is the birthplace of Semenova. And the newlyweds live in Khimki, in Ksenia's apartment. A native of Penza, Ablyazin represents his region at competitions, but prefers to live closer to the capital. The malleable Ksyusha did not object to her husband moving in with her. And Denis - even more so.
He got two exotic cats at home - Bengal Kuara and Maine Coon Jenny. He buys them food, cuts their nails, and combs them. And the friends of a young married couple are transparently hinting that it's time to get them not cats, but children. Denis and Ksenia promised to seriously work on this issue.
* One of our best gymnasts David Belyavsky turned out to be much more romantic than Ablyazin. He proposed to his girlfriend right during the Olympics, dropping to one knee.
It was very unexpected, he recalls. Maria Mikhailova. - I came to Rio de Janeiro from Novosibirsk to support David, he rented me an apartment, but I rarely saw him. When our gymnasts won silver in the team tournament, I cried with joy. It was not possible to communicate with David at the sports palace. Then I rushed to the Olympic village. And then, with teammates, he takes out a ring and asks: “Will you be my wife?” I even got lost. Of course, she agreed - and began to cry again.
They did not determine the date of the wedding, but most likely the celebration will take place in the fall. We add that Maria and David have been living in Belyavsky's apartment in Yekaterinburg for several years.

Later, he surprised Mustafina several times by appearing unannounced at the Krugloe Lake gymnastic base. After finishing the training, Aliya, a little embarrassed, ran away on a date. Over time, Mustafina realized that she was increasingly drawn to this guy. Once she met Zaitsev at Sheremetyevo Airport, when he did not expect this at all. Aliya had two workouts that day, but the gymnast combined them into one (longer than usual) and rushed to the plane. Lesha was touched.
Bobsledder Zaitsev can be proud of only one achievement in the sport so far. He is the silver medalist of the European championship in the four-bean competition. Mustafina has much more fame and titles. She is a two-time Olympic champion, three-time world champion and five-time European champion. As they say, feel the difference.
But Lesha fell in love so much that he dedicates poetry to Aliya. And blows dust off her. Of course, Aliya is pregnant! The gymnast's father told us about this Farhat Mustafin, a famous Greco-Roman wrestler in the past.
