DIY tulle skirt for a girl. How to sew a skirt for a girl: master class How to sew children's dress skirts

If you have a daughter, then probably her closet drawers are full of a variety of skirts and dresses, because even the smallest women are usually big fashionistas. One of the things that is always present in every girl’s wardrobe since childhood is a circle skirt.

The original cut model is extremely comfortable for young ladies of all ages. The youngest beauties love it because it looks very elegant, but at the same time does not restrict movement.

Today we will tell you how to sew a circle skirt for your little princess. In this article you will also find fashion tips for combining a circle skirt with different things.

Peculiarities

The sun is a very interesting style. Its unusualness lies in the peculiarities of its cut - if you unfold the skirt, it will take the shape of a circle. This skirt is sewn in several different ways. The simplest of them is cutting out a circle from a single piece of material; in this case, the product is obtained without seams. Also, a circle skirt can be sewn from two semicircles or made from several wedges.

This model is usually fitted with an elastic band. For children, this is the most successful option, since such a skirt is easy to take off and put on independently. For older girls, a circle skirt with a yoke is suitable.

According to the age

Circle skirts are worn by young ladies from a very tender age. Many carry their love for this model throughout their lives, continuing to wear circle skirts as adult women.

4-5 years

Mothers often dress preschool-age girls in circle skirts. Little girls like skirts with elastic, and they are also very convenient for kindergarten, as they allow children to get dressed without the help of teachers. In addition, such models are suitable for dancing and active games.

6-7 years

When it's time to go to school, parents have to think about buying a school uniform, since they are now being introduced everywhere in educational institutions. In most cases, the school charter allows you to vary the styles of clothing, forcing you to only adhere to the color scheme and insignia. A circle skirt in the right color can be a great way to add variety to your school uniform.

8-10 years

At primary school age, girls think not so much about the comfort of their clothes as about their beauty. In this case, a circle skirt is a win-win option. Her models are very diverse: young fashionistas can choose between slightly flared and incredibly voluminous silhouettes, between high and low rise, between a playful mini and a modest maxi.

For teenagers

During adolescence, fashion trends come to the fore. Teenagers strive to be like their idols in everything, be they Hollywood stars or famous athletes.

During this period, children tend to choose their own clothes and they should not be too limited in this. If you wanted to sew a flared skirt for your teenage daughter, then it is best to choose the fabric and style along with it. Look through fashion magazines, go shopping - this is a great chance to spend time together.

What to wear with?

The circle skirt will go perfectly with a variety of things from a child's wardrobe. You can wear it to school with a turtleneck, shirt, vest or cropped jacket.

In winter, it looks good with a sweater and pullover; You can complement the look with colored claws or leg warmers. This skirt is worn with boots or elegant shoes.

In the warm season, circle skirts can be combined with a variety of T-shirts, T-shirts, and light tops. In cool weather, you can throw a short summer jacket, such as denim, over it. Any comfortable shoes will do: sandals, sandals, ballet shoes, sneakers, etc.

How to do it yourself?

Even if you are a beginner needlewoman, it will not be difficult for you to sew a circle skirt with your own hands. Children's models are simpler to implement, so it is recommended to master this model with them.

Pattern

The first stage of sewing any item is making a pattern. To make a pattern, you first need to take measurements. We are interested in two sizes - waist circumference and hem length. The length of the circle skirt can be any, so we take measurements, depending on which model you chose - mini, midi or maxi.

Next we draw the pattern itself. To do this we need to draw two circles. The length of the inner circumference is the circumference of the waist plus 2-3 cm of margin. Based on these data, we calculate the radius of the circle: divide the circumference by 2 and multiply the result by the number π.

The radius of the outer circle is even easier to find: it will be equal to the desired length of the skirt plus 1-2 cm for finishing the edge. Having calculated the necessary parameters, we transfer the pattern to the fabric.

Sewing

A circle skirt can be cut out from a single piece of fabric or sewn together from several elements - it all depends on the size of the fabric. To make it more convenient to transfer the pattern onto the fabric, it is recommended to fold the material in four, then use a tailor's yardstick to measure the radius of the inner circle from the central corner. Moving the meter in a circle, we apply markings to the fabric. Then, in the same way, measure and mark the hem of the skirt. For greater convenience, before starting work, we recommend fastening the material along the edges with safety pins.

Master class on sewing a children's skirt with your own hands.

Required materials and tools:

Paper pattern, main fabric and pocket burlap fabric, zipper, button, two colors of thread, scissors, tailor's pins and chalk.

Preparing the pattern

One of the easiest skirts for girls to make is the A-line skirt. Its pattern resembles a geometric figure, where the upper base is the waist circumference of the model, and the lower base is the desired width of the bottom of the skirt.

It’s not difficult to build such a model using a regular ruler and pencil. If you plan to make the skirt with pleats, you need to add their width to both bases. If pockets and other details are needed, they are additionally drawn on a paper pattern.

In this master class, you will sew an a-line skirt with side pockets with a zipper at the back. On paper we need to make a pattern for the front and back panels of the product, as well as the back and front of the pocket.

Sewing the front of the skirt

We sew the cut out parts of the front part of the pockets to the entrances of the pockets on both parts of the front panel. We turn the blanks for the pockets inside and sew them with a double stitch.

We apply the back part of the pocket from the main fabric and connect it to the skirt panel and the inside of the pocket.

We sew the halves of the front part of the product, stitch it with one line and lay down the folds.

Sewing the back of the skirt and assembling the product

We sew the blanks cut from the main fabric, leaving room for the zipper. We sew it in using any known method, after which we stitch it around the perimeter.

Add folds. They may be the same as on the front, or they may be different.

When both halves are ready, we sew them together and sew off the seam itself with a contrasting thread.

Sewing a belt and making a fastener

We move on to the last stage of sewing a skirt for a girl - cutting out and sewing in a belt. It is a strip, the length of which is equal to the waist circumference + 4-5 cm to form a fastener. The width of the belt is arbitrary, multiplied by 2. In the traditional version, the width of the belt is from 3 to 5 cm, that is, you need to cut out a strip with a width of 6 to 10 cm plus seam allowances (at least 2 cm).

We sew in the belt and stitch around the entire perimeter. Please note that if the main fabric for the skirt is thin, it is better to reinforce it with a thicker fabric or non-woven fabric.

Sew a button above the zipper and form a loop for it.

All that's left to do on the skirt is to hem the bottom and it's ready!

To sew a skirt for a girl, you don’t need to have the skills of a high-class dressmaker. Sewing a skirt for a girl is quick and easy.

Surely you have had situations when you urgently needed to sew a skirt for your daughter for a dance or theater group.

Or maybe you just have a wonderful piece of fabric lying around that you bought a long time ago, and now you don’t know where to put it. Here are a few ways that will help you sew a baby skirt for your daughter in just 15 minutes. These simple and quick methods are available even if you are not an experienced seamstress.

Skirt for little ones "Tatyanka"

Skirt style "Tatyanka"- one of the simplest “skirt” styles.

To sew skirt "Tatyanka" you will need:

elastic band 3 cm wide, fabric and threads 🙂

You don't even need to make a pattern for this skirt.

All we need is a rectangular piece of fabric.

The length of the fabric cut should be equal to the length of the skirt + seam allowances (elastic band and finishing of the bottom of the skirt). If a girl is 116 cm tall, then the length of the skirt will be approximately 33 cm, add 7 cm for the allowance, we get 40 cm of fabric needed for the skirt.

The width of the cut should be equal to the circumference of the hips multiplied by 2. And even better, if the width of the skirt (i.e. fabric) is 2.5 times greater than the circumference of the hips. In this case, the skirt will turn out fluffy and beautiful.

The first thing to do is fold the side sections of the fabric facing inward and stitch a seam width of 1 cm. Process the edges.

Then you need to bend the top section of the skirt to the width of the elastic (4cm) and stitch it into a hem, leaving a distance of 1-1.5cm between the beginning and end of the stitching to pull the elastic through.

Using a safety pin, thread the elastic through and stitch the ends together into a ring.

A wide elastic band can be replaced with a regular narrow one. Then the hem of the top edge needs to be made wider and several parallel lines should be sewn along the waistband, each time retreating a little more than the width of the elastic.

The bottom edge of the skirt also needs to be finished with a closed hem stitch. 1 cm wide. Iron the skirt. She's ready!

Such skirts can be sewn for both summer and winter by choosing a warmer fabric.

which shows how to sew a warm Tatyanka skirt.

Skirt for girls with wide elastic band

You can sew such a skirt for a girl in literally 15 minutes.

You will need:

Wide elastic band, knitted fabric with ruffles.

You can choose any fabric for the skirt, but I recommend purchasing a knitted fabric with already knitted ruffles. Firstly, such skirts for girls are now very fashionable, and secondly, the cut of such fabric does not fray and there will be no need to process the bottom and side seams of the skirt, which will reduce sewing time. This knitted fabric of different colors can be found in any fabric store. The skirt in the photo is suitable for school.

The length of such a fabric when purchased is calculated depending on the number of ruffles that the skirt will have.

The width of the cut should be equal to the circumference of the hips multiplied by 1.3. If you take regular fabric (without ruffles), then multiply the hip circumference by 2.

First we sew the elastic sections together. We process the edges so that they do not fray, do not unravel and are neat in appearance.

Then we sew the side sections of the fabric facing inward. Be careful that the edges of the ruffles must match. Fabric like the one in the photo does not need to be processed.

Then we pin the upper edge of the skirt to the elastic, evenly gathering and distributing the fabric. To be sure, you can sew the fabric to the elastic “live.” All that remains is to sew along the edge of the elastic with a zigzag seam.

A skirt is made for your daughter!

Your daughter will be able to wear this skirt for more than one year. Stretchable elastic band provides room for growth.

Skirt "Sun" for girls

It is believed that sewing a “Sun” skirt is very difficult. But I assure you, it can be done in 15 minutes!

Sewing a “Sun” skirt is very simple if you make it with an elastic band.

Required:

wide elastic band, fabric and decorative braid for finishing the bottom of the skirt.

We calculate the length of the cut as follows: (length of the skirt from the waist + 2 cm + R) multiplied by 2.

R = hip circumference: 6

The length of the wide elastic band is waist circumference minus 5cm.

The braid is about 4 meters. Depends on the length of the skirt.

Skirt "Sun" with elastic

Next, fold the fabric four times, carefully measure the required distance from the corner that ends up in the center of the fabric. To prevent the fabric from moving, pin it together. Cut it out. We process the resulting sections (inner-top of the skirt and outer-bottom of the skirt) so that the fabric does not fray.
Then, we grind down the edges of the elastic. And we sew the skirt fabric to the elastic band, (same as in the previous version) having previously secured them with pins or basting.

The bottom of the skirt was left unfinished. I must say that it is not so easy to hem the bottom edge of the “Sun” skirt. Therefore, it is better to use a different edge processing method. A decorative braid chosen to match the tone or contrast of the fabric is suitable for this. You just need to sew it from the front side onto the finished edge of the bottom of the skirt.

This is a good way to sew summer skirts for girls from silk and light fabrics.
This is the easiest way to sew a full skirt for a girl. There is no zipper and no side seams, so sewing time will take no more than 15 minutes.

But if desired, such a skirt can be made in two layers by hemming another layer of thin fabric inside.

You can combine colors: The top layer of the skirt is multi-colored - the bottom layer is plain, the top layer is dark (bright) - the bottom layer is light.

Summer skirt for girls "Country"

To sew such a skirt you will need jeans, or denim shorts, or a denim skirt and a piece of light fabric with a pattern.

Of course, hardly anyone would want to sew such a skirt on purpose, but if you have damaged jeans or a denim skirt, then the top from them may well give life to a new idea.

The amount of fabric depends on how long you want the skirt to be and how tightly gathered it is.

First, cut the top of the jeans to create a yoke.

We cut out the lower part of the skirt from bright fabric. You may end up with one or two side seams. Stitch and sew the skirt fabric to the top. Then we process the bottom edge. The lower part of the skirt can be made of several layers. photo 2.

As you can see, sew a skirtfor girl not difficult at all :)

And finally,

look at the version of a skirt for a girl that doesn’t even need to be sewn!

This tutu skirt will delight any little princess.

You will need:

  • Approximately 50 rectangular pieces of soft tulle or mesh
  • Elastic band for clothes (waist circumference minus 5 cm)
  • Satin ribbons, bows, fabric flowers

We cut the tulle into rectangles.

Width 20cm. Length = skirt length x 2 +3cm

Tulle is easily cut in bulk. You can cut 10 layers at once.
First of all, we sew the elastic band (you can simply tie it in a knot) and put it on the back of the chair.

Then we take tulle ribbons and tie them with an elastic band. You can tie it in several ways:

1. With a regular double knot.

2. Fold the tulle strip in half. Wrap the elastic band around and thread the ends through the resulting loop. Tighten, but not too tight.

3. Or you can not tie it at all, but use a stapler. Wrap the ribbon around the elastic, squeeze it and staple it under the elastic. It will take skill, the main thing is to fasten each ribbon separately so that the skirt can easily stretch.

You can use tulle of several colors and alternate them. The skirt will be more fun if you decorate it with satin ribbons, bows or flowers.

If you make such a white skirt, then we can say that your “Snowflake” costume for the New Year is ready.

For greater clarity, watch the video with a master class on how to make a fluffy tulle skirt.

Tulle skirt - Master class

If you make such a skirt a little longer, attach satin ribbon straps and tie it with a belt, you will get a wonderful dress. This is the easiest way to make a New Year's costume from tulle for a fairy.

Don't be afraid to invent and add something of your own. Be sure to sew and knit something for your children. A skirt for a daughter, a hat or scarf for a son. Children should have at least one thing knitted or sewn by their mother’s caring hands.

If desired, you can decorate the skirt with a fun pattern.
Many companies involved in printing on fabric offer such a service as cut printing.
The design on the skirt is best placed on the front right side.
When choosing a pattern, you need to remember the combination of colors; for example, on a pink skirt, colors such as fuchsia, yellow, light green, blue, turquoise, purple and silver look good.
There are many such companies in any region.
In Moscow, the company prints designs on the cut TEXPRINT.rf
When choosing a material for a skirt, ask if it is possible to print a design on it.

100% cotton or cotton with elastane, linen, viscose, synthetics will definitely work.

But printing on fabrics such as tulle, denim, tweed and organza is not recommended.

Every mother or grandmother probably has old jeans made of good denim in her wardrobe. Jeans is a good natural material, which is especially valuable in children's clothing. We will help you sew a skirt for a girl with your own hands from old jeans. We hope that the patterns posted in this article will be useful for you in future sewing for your beloved princess.

How to sew a denim skirt for a girl from old jeans? Let's start with the simplest master class: a skirt for a girl made from children's jeans. If you have a pair of trousers that are too short for a child, great, let’s turn them into a child’s jeans skirt. We will make 2 versions of such products as skirts for girls with flounces.

The simplest option, such a children's skirt can be made in one evening. The first 2 skirts are sewn quite quickly and resemble Gloria jeans skirts.

For the skirts we will need a top from children's jeans and a piece of denim for one frill. Here the model has an elasticated belt, but in this case it is better to leave the old belt and not touch the top of the trousers.

So, you need to cut off the top of children's jeans to make a yoke. Back pockets, if there are any, are best left untouched. No matter how carefully you peel them off, the marks will remain. We will make a flounce from the remaining trouser legs. Cut long strips of fabric. You can make a shuttlecock if you sew several strips crosswise. The width of the flounce can be from 9 to 12 cm. Length - waist circumference multiplied by 2. Stitch the seams on the frill, process the edges so that they do not spill out and iron them. Next, we process the bottom of the shuttlecock. We sew thin lace here (for those who know how to crochet, there are many options for patterns), you can treat them with any satin ribbon, or cut out bias tape from any fabric.

The second version of the skirt with one flounce. Now the last “squeak” is the fringe. The flounce with fringe is sewn separately to the finished hem. The shuttlecock is “fringed” not reaching 4-5 cm from the top cut. The length of the flounce is only 5-6 cm longer than the bottom of the yoke.

In both models, the bottom of the yoke is processed first: the bottom edge is folded in and stitched with a double stitch. Then the second (upper) cut of the shuttlecock is sewn by hand or by machine. Assemble the shuttlecock by hand and attach it to the bottom of the yoke, as in the photo. Baste on a live thread and topstitch from the front side. This is what the bottom looks like from the inside out:

Reverse side of the skirt:

A cool denim skirt can be made from adult jeans. Here we will get more fabric, which is to our advantage. You can sew a beautiful fashionable item for a girl or girl.

To work you will need:

  1. Old jeans.
  2. 4 buttons.
  3. Ready-made patch on pockets, or do-it-yourself embroidery.
  4. Elastic band for the belt.
  5. Scissors, thread.
  6. Pencil, ruler.

We start by measuring the child's waist and determining the length of the skirt. For example: if you take a 5-year-old princess, then the measurements will be approximately the following: waist circumference - 59 cm, length of the skirt from the waist line - 35 cm, hip volume - 68 cm. You can correct the pomp of the lower frill (flounce) by multiplying approx. waist by 2 - this will be the length of the flounce. We will need to cut out the details: a belt, the top of the skirt, 2 pockets, a placket and a flounce.

  1. The belt is cut - width - 12 cm, length - waist circumference plus 16 cm (75 cm). The result will be a strip of 12/75 cm.
  2. The top of the skirt is the volume of the hips plus 14 cm for a loose fit, the width is the length of the skirt divided by 2. The result is a stripe of 82/17.5 cm.
  3. Bottom of the skirt - width - 59 cm, multiply by 2. The height of the flounce is 17.5 cm. The result is a stripe of 118/17.5 cm.
  4. Cut the plank arbitrarily, to the length of the top. Make the pocket details out of paper, this will make it easier to figure out what size pocket to make. Then transfer it to fabric and cut it out.

Do not forget about seam allowances of 0.9 - 1 cm.

First, let's deal with the pockets: embroider on them, or sew on stripes. Fold the yoke piece in half and mark the middle with a pencil. We make the strap: we grind it along the length, turn it inside out, sew on the buttons, and adjust it to the middle of the yoke. Then we fold the yoke in half again and mark the location of the pockets with a pencil and ruler. We make sure everything is symmetrical. We baste the pockets using live thread. Let's see: if everything is symmetrical, we sew pockets.

Next, fold the belt and the top section of the skirt yoke right sides together. We sew along the wrong side, departing 1 cm from the cut. We sew around the cut of the belt, turn it inward, and attach it to the yoke. We thread the elastic into the waistband and secure the ends with a couple of stitches. Fold the skirt yoke and stitch along the side seam. We iron the seam and overcast it.

Prepare the bottom frill: make a small fringe along the bottom and sew a line at a distance of 1.5-2 cm from the cut. Manually assemble the frill along the cut, evenly distributing the assembly. Fold the yoke and frill right side to right side and baste. Then sew and process the cut.

That's all. The skirt for your daughter or granddaughter is ready.

There are so many options for sewing children's skirts from old jeans, it's just mind-boggling. There will be patterns at the end, but for now, look at the skirt options:

Skirt with elastic- this is the simplest option for processing a belt, which is often resorted to by inexperienced dressmakers who are taking their first steps in sewing. This processing is usually used when sewing long floor-length skirts and other summer skirts of various lengths from light fabrics. Such a belt will be an ideal solution for a simple circle or half-circle skirt, and for children's skirts it is the most profitable option.

Short skirt with elastic for girls involves two belt options, for example, an elastic band can be inserted into a sewn belt in a circular pattern or a wide elastic band can be sewn with a zigzag stitch, in this case there is no need to make a belt from the material at all. Wide elastic is often used by curvy women when sewing long skirts.

If you decide to first sew the main product with a belt, and then insert the ribbon, then you will need two pieces of 20 (25 cm), although, of course, the length depends on your volume. The pieces are inserted through the holes in the side seam, and it is convenient to use a wide pin to pull the piece through the small hole. When both pieces are in place, the “unclosed” areas must be stitched using a finishing stitch.

This belt is very convenient if you work in an office and sit at a desk for a long time; due to the fact that it consists of two sections, it stretches better and does not “cut into” your stomach.

Skirt with elastic

If you like sun skirt with elastic and you decide to sew it, then when starting to build the pattern, keep in mind that you will have a section for a double-width belt, you also need to leave allowances for the hem and for the stitching seam.

Keep in mind that such skirts have a slight gather at the waist, which is why the belt pattern should be larger than the waist, and when you insert a ribbon into it, it will compress it. Since there will be no zipper, the length at the waist should correspond to the volume of the hips so that you can wear a skirt.

In another option, the belt is not opened, and when constructing the pattern, double the width of the belt is added to the waist line and the width for the hem is necessarily added. This method of construction is usually used when sewing the “Tatyanka” model and other simple models for girls.

For sewn-in belts, it is necessary to close the finishing stitches correctly; it is advisable that they be perpendicular to the fastening stitches and run along the side seam, so that when worn, it will not stretch and will fit well on the figure. If you are sewing from variegated floral fabric, you can make a belt from four pieces, two additional ones will go in the center front and back, this will allow the material not to shrink at the back and front. For the same purpose, finishing stitches are made in the center, and then even a skirt with a geometric pattern will look beautiful.

For a cut-off belt, the sewing process is almost the same: first you need to stitch the connected belt, then iron the left seam allowance up and sew a line, it goes along the front side, parallel to the stitching line.

How to sew a skirt with elastic

Another option how to sew a skirt with elastic, is to stitch it separately. In this case, the skirt fabric is cut separately, and then a wide elastic band connected into a circle is attached. Typically, this option is used for floor-length models, but you can experiment and perform it on short models that should fit your figure, and you can even make a classic office skirt; moreover, in this option, the belt is usually hidden under the jacket.

This method is the simplest, but there is one condition: your sewing machine must have a zigzag stitch, only with its help you can stitch the elastic with high quality, maintaining its stretch. If your machine has many functions, then sew a skirt with an elastic band with your own hands you can do it in less than an hour, and most of your time will be spent on cutting out the canvas of the main fabric product.

However, while sewing, some unpleasant moments may await you, for example, the machine may “be capricious” when working with such “rubber” material, this will manifest itself through skipping stitches, it may loop or break the thread. In this case, you need to try to configure the machine specifically for this material.

To make the belt neat, you need to assemble the material evenly, because the main fabric at the waist will be much larger than the “rubber” piece. It is quite difficult for inexperienced seamstresses to make this assembly uniform, which, of course, affects the overall appearance of the product. In this case, you can resort to a trick: the unstretched tape must be divided into several equal parts (four or more). Divide the fabric of the product into the same number of parts: usually they are divided into four zones (along the side seams, in the center of the front and back. Place neat marks on the selected areas on the wrong side, and then, already adjusting the tape to the fabric, combine these marks and evenly distribute the fabric between them. When stitching, using both hands, stretch the piece between the two marks, which you can additionally pin together to prevent movement.

First, the top edge of the product must be overcast on the overlocker, and using chalk, mark the allowance on the fabric; the edge of the “rubber” tape should be applied to this line.

Elasticated skirt pattern

Elasticated skirt pattern“Tatyanka” is very popular, despite the fact that this model has been known for several decades. It is still in trend, because the cutting and sewing technology here is, one might say, elementary. This is the best model for a novice dressmaker who has decided to try to sew something on her own. Of course, for the first time you shouldn’t buy expensive fabric; take something from old stocks, and some people even train on old sheets. In addition, “Tatyanka” does not require construction on paper, which greatly simplifies the technological process.

A piece of fabric must be folded edge to edge in half so that the right side is on the inside. The edge can be pinned together; if you are a beginner, then this step will definitely not be superfluous. Now you need to set aside the length, adding an allowance of about 5 cm for the hem, as well as an allowance on top for attaching the waistband of about one and a half centimeters.

Stepping to the left from the fold, you need to set aside the half-girth of your hips. Then draw a vertical line from the waist line to the bottom. Next, from this line you need to set aside the distance that will go into the folds; here you must decide in advance what kind of assembly you want to get.

By the way, DIY elastic skirt It is also good because there is no need to determine where you have the grain thread, which allows you to save fabric when cutting.

If we do, then, most likely, we will need to hide the belt, and sew a wide satin ribbon on top, which is tied in a bow at the back. Its blades must be carefully straightened, and if you want to get a wide and voluminous bow, then the ribbon will not be enough, you will need dense material, which also needs to be cut and then sewn into a long ribbon. The bow can additionally be starched; this “grandmother’s” method allows you to achieve unique volume if you like full skirts that keep their shape.

DIY elastic skirt

Skirt with wide elastic band requires absolutely no sewing experience, all you need to know is how to use a sewing machine, performing a few simple lines. Of course, the machine must be multifunctional; in addition to the usual stitches that are used for hemming cotton fabrics, you will also need a zigzag stitch (a special knitted stitch that will maintain the stretch of your waistband).

To measure the required amount of “rubber” tape, you need to wrap a tape measure or a rubber band directly around your waist, and then add a couple of centimeters to sew the belt together. If you are making a simple skirt, then you will need a single piece of ribbon, and not two parts, as when sewing into a belt.

One of the main components of our product is ready, all that remains is to choose the material. For the summer, you should definitely choose a fabric that “breathes” in order to feel comfortable in the hot months, and if you are sewing, for example, a “Little Red Riding Hood” costume, then you can use red satin or velvet, then your outfit will turn out solemn and very beautiful. Of course, a summer product can also be sewn from silk; only an experienced seamstress can sew such a complex material correctly, but even a beginner can work with cotton fabrics.

Cotton is available in a wide variety of colors, so you can bring any of your ideas to life, sew a lot of simple skirts, each of which will create a new, unique summer look.

You'll also need an elastic band if you're thinking, or a stylish tulle skirt for your little princess. From this material you can sew a magnificent product and do a themed photo shoot.

When you have chosen the fabric for skirts with elastic waistband, we need to cut it out, for this there is no need to create separate patterns and take measurements, because we are sewing the simplest model. The fabric must be folded in half so that the front side is inside, measure the required length of the product, leaving a few centimeters at the bottom and top for hemming. The width of the canvas should be slightly larger than the piece of elastic.

Skirt with elastic for girls

A little more difficult to cut half-sun skirt with elastic, and you can also crochet a half-sleeve, as shown. This is a very interesting model for little fashionistas; for example, it can be an addition to the “Snowflakes” costume at a New Year’s party.

Although even for half-asleep, you can do without a pattern and start immediately drawing on the chosen fabric, but first make the necessary measurements. The first thing we need to measure is the waist size, and since our product should be worn without a zipper, fifteen centimeters should be added to this value. The fabric must be folded in half, and then draw an arc from the corner, which will indicate the waist, then increase the radius along the length of the skirt and draw another arc. Next, you just need to make seam allowances and you can cut out the material.

Once you gain experience in sewing, you can make more complex items, for example, or dresses that elegantly highlight your figure.
