Oksana Seifert

Good afternoon, dear colleagues! Winter has come into its own and very soon a cheerful and joyful holiday will come - the New Year! And as always, according to tradition, we decorate Christmas tree, forest beauty purchased toys: multi-colored balls, icicles, snowmen, snowflakes, tinsel, etc. Well, what if you decorate Christmas tree with toys made with your own hands. After all, such toys made with love, carry warmth and positive emotions of the one who gives them tinkered. Today I propose master class on making Christmas tree toys(balls) from DIY salt dough. Such toys can be done with children, since working with test develops fine motor skills of children's fingers. For making New Year's balls for us will be needed: 1 cup flour, 1 cup fine salt, a little water, a cap felt-tip pen, gouache paints, brush, sippy cup, glue "Moment", or glue "Titanium", green, blue, silver sequins, star-shaped sequins, satin ribbons. Place flour, salt and a little water in a small bowl and knead dough. It must be hard and thick so that it can be sculpted. Dough Roll out to about 1 cm thick and cut out circles using a glass. Using the cap from felt-tip pen cut a hole for threading the ribbon. Then our balls should dry. To do this, you can bake them in the oven, or you can leave them on a sheet of paper for several days. After the balls have dried, you can begin the fun part - decorating them. Here you can show all your imagination. Can be colored toys with gouache paints, draw patterns, glue multi-colored sequins using any available glue. Thread a satin ribbon through the hole and tie a bow. Our Christmas ball is ready! Can be decorated Christmas tree! Thank you for your attention! I wish you all good luck and creative success!

Publications on the topic:

The New Year will come only in a month, but we are preparing for the holiday now. Following tradition, the senior group and I decided to do this.

When the “Golden Autumn” exhibition was announced in the garden, I thought for a long time what we could do with our (almost) 3-year-old daughter. So that she too can participate.

Educator: Boeva Irina Yuryevna MBDOU kindergarten No. 34 Objectives: - To promote the development of fine motor skills, imagination, and observation.

Master Class. Goal: to form an idea of the type of decorative and applied art - dough plastic. Objectives: Level up.

Good evening, dear teachers. Today I want to share again my creativity from salt dough. I made it from an ordinary half liter bottle.

Easter is a big and bright holiday in the life of every Orthodox person. This year, a charity fundraiser was dedicated to this holiday.

MASTER CLASS “BRIGHT COLORS OF AUTUMN” (AUTUMN TREES FROM SALT DOUGH) The autumn forest, playing with colors, Weaves wreaths from the crowns of trees, with its own.

Friends, are you ready for the new year? But the holiday is just around the corner. And this is a reason to work fruitfully with your little ones. What am I offering? Today we will talk about how and what kind of New Year's crafts to make from salt dough. A prerequisite is that we will create with our kids. We involve them in as many processes as possible. In fact, the material is safe and easy to clean, so let’s allow the little ones to get their hands dirty.

Do you know what will add significance to these activities? The fact that the child will feel that all this is a very important matter! He will try hard when he finds out that his crafts will decorate the Christmas tree: as toys (we will hang some of them on the tree) or become part of the festive composition.

Let's decide. Remember? We have a main focus - New Year's themes. There is a basic material - salt dough. And in the kitchen, any housewife has the necessary tools. And our children have a good helper - us! All that remains is to get down to business.

Ingredients and tools we will need

All we need is:

  • Salt;
  • Flour;
  • Water;
  • A little vegetable oil.

Of course, I want the figures to be bright. Therefore, we use any dyes of our choice:

  • Food paints;
  • Eco-friendly construction;
  • Markers;
  • Gouache;
  • Nail polish (if you need to use very little).

And in order to make dough with your own hands, and then products from the dough, you need tools. Let's prepare in advance:

  • Bowl;
  • Rolling pin;
  • Cup;
  • Scissors;
  • Pen/felt-tip pen.

We will also need additional tools. We'll talk about this in the next topic, when we look at different ideas for creativity.

Various ideas for decorating works

And there’s a sea of ideas! And, moreover, boundless! But don’t forget, there are 2 points to consider:

  • Abilities and capabilities of babies;
  • Crafts should relate to the New Year 2018 theme. This means that, if not the symbol of the year itself, the Dog, we should succeed, then at least try to ensure that golden colors dominate in our products.

And a lot will depend on what tools we have at hand. In principle, absolutely anything can be a tool! And the decoration of the works, and even their form, will depend on what we own.

Now I intend to call something that can be used as a handy tool when making crafts, and how the work will depend on it.

Lace. They will add delicacy to the work. All you have to do is apply them to the dough and roll them over with a rolling pin.

Buttons. It will be simple and interesting for children to press buttons into finished products to create an unusual texture.

Beads. You can simply sprinkle it on your finished work, and everything will immediately shine.

Cocktail straw- This is an excellent “hole maker” that turns ordinary crafts into lace ones.

Marker. They can draw any patterns.

Hands, legs, paws. Place your little one's hand and make an impression of the palm; the same can be done with the leg if you have a baby. If your dog doesn’t mind, then the prints of its paws will also look symbolic.

Master Class

And now I’ll share what my baby and I did. And at the same time I will conduct a small master class.

I'll start with our video. In it we show how to knead the dough, how to sculpt a big owl on a Christmas tree, how to decorate a window in the form of a Christmas tree with dough toys.

And now, as promised, a photo lesson: how to make a slightly different owl, hedgehog and snowman.

You all remember the recipe:

  • Flour – 1 tbsp;
  • Salt – 1 tbsp.;
  • Water.

It is better to take fine salt. It is cleaner and mixes better with flour and water. But I specifically took a large one, because I mainly intend to bake all the products. And when baked, coarse salt gives it an unusual golden color. As for water. I didn’t say how much is needed. It took me half a glass. But it is better to focus on how much the dough will take so that it is not liquid.

I will try to attach a photo to each step.

So, the ingredients:

The dough turns out tough, but very plastic. I divide it into 3 parts.

Of the two, I intend to make figures of a Snowman and a Hedgehog. And I will divide the third part in half, and the baby and I roll out the mass and twist two circles with a glass.

I'm eager to try how flathead owls are made.

And the second part is a toy for the Christmas tree.

Now I will talk about each craft separately.

Snowman

1. Making the base for the snowman. I cut out a circle and decorate it, squeezing out the relief with the tip of a knife.

I divide the remaining mass into 3 parts so that one is large, the second is medium, and the third is small.

I roll the largest piece into a ball in my palms. I make a small depression in the middle.

I do the same with the second one. This way the entire structure will stand firmly without any special fastening.

I insert a thin twig into the middle ball. These are the hands of the Snowman. I place a walnut shell on top. It turns out to be such a hat.

I make the nose from the tip of a toothpick.

How to paint a Snowman? I won't put it in the oven. I'll just wait for the dough to form a crust on top. I have matching colored nail gels. I use them for painting.

The details remain: mouth, eyes, snowflakes based on the Snowman.

And this is what happened to me.

Owl

I press the bottom half of the circle with a pen cap. The result is a feather pattern.

I fold the edges on the sides so that they touch each other.

I fold the top half of the base in half and bend it slightly on top.

On the top part I squeeze out round eyes with a cap and draw a beak.

I round the corners at the bottom. I make the “ears” sharper.

I set it to bake, having previously greased the wings and ears with yolk.

This is the golden Owl after baking for 7 minutes at 180 degrees.

What other owls can you make?

Toy

I pierce the second round blank through the top with a cap. And below I make prints with the same cap.

I set the toy to bake.

After baking, I apply a little red varnish to all the circles, and draw leaves above them. This is mistletoe. All that remains is to thread the ribbon into the hole and you can decorate the Christmas tree with the toy.

Hedgehog

A small barrel-cylinder is rolled up, in which the nose of the future hedgehog is slightly extended.

“Needles” are cut throughout the body. To do this you will need nail scissors with curved edges.

First, the edges of the scissors are slightly pressed into the dough, then the “needle” is cut.

A Christmas tree is made from salt dough using the same principle: its branches are cut with scissors.

Now go over the face and along each edge of the needle with a brush with yolk, and the product can be sent to the oven.

After baking, make a nose and eyes by pressing in a piece of a twig, and the Hedgehog with Golden Needles is ready!

This is how I managed to make 4 toys with my baby!

Very! I really want you to show off your work! Send the results of your work, share your successes, so that we can be happy for you! That's all for today! I remind you about subscribing and please don’t forget to bring your friends: it’s more fun together! All! Bye bye!

Do you know that New Year is just around the corner? Today it seems that it’s still autumn on the calendar, and you’ll have time to do everything, but tomorrow - bang-bang! - and winter has come, and time is running out. Yes, yes, it's time to hurry if you want to decorate the Christmas tree this year New Year's toys made from salt dough! This is a completely affordable project that is 100% family friendly and matches your DIY skills perfectly. Well, seriously - all the necessary materials can be found at home (and if not, then most likely we will talk about paints, but you can buy them at the nearest stall, and if a package of gouache or a couple of tubes of acrylic is not currently included in your financial plans, you can refuse altogether from painting toys and making them in such a distinct eco-style), and even a child can roll out the dough and cut circles out of it with a glass (yeah, don’t want circles? That means your handicraft skills have stepped a little beyond the level of a novice pithecanthropus, and you’re quite you will be able to create New Year's miracles at the advanced level).

In general, less words, more action: - the most complete step-by-step guide with photographic evidence, go to the cut and study carefully. Also join New Year's marathon "Handicraft Runet" VKontakte and show your finished toys on topic of a partner. Waiting for you!

Step 1 - dough

There is nothing complicated, the main rule is intuition. And even if the word “approximately” doesn’t scare you, everything will work out.

Let's start with the fact that there are trainloads of recipes on the Internet. And all the very best, of course - the best, tested, accurate and generally practically guarantee that New Year's toys from salt dough will be made on their own, dry and jump onto the Christmas tree. We urge you to believe everyone, but do it your own way - listening to your intuition. We tell and show in pictures.

Need to:

1/2 cup fine salt "Extra";

1/2 glass of water;

1 tbsp. l. vegetable oil;

approximately 2.5 cups flour.

We measure out the salt. Many sources write that this should be the most ordinary small “Extra” and definitely not iodized-fluoridated. Yeah, that's right. But the author of the master class does not have non-iodized salt at home and, as you understand, her common sense does not allow her to leave the house in the nasty frost and disgusting slush to find non-iodized salt in the thirty-eighth supermarket. Believe me, for some reason it works with the one you have at hand.

Yes, for the haters of such a measure of volume as half a glass, let us clarify: we weighed it, it turned out that salt was exactly 170 g.

If you don't have a food processor, you're out of luck - you'll have to play with your hands. Pour salt into the bowl in which you usually knead the dough for dumplings. If you are using a food processor, pour it into the food processor bowl.

We measure out the water. Yes, yes, half a glass. Happened 130 g water.

Gurgling - to the salt, let them be friends.

Vegetable oil - to the same company. By the way, you can get by - if you are greedy and don’t want to transfer precious olive oil to some kind of New Year’s toys, but you never had cheap industrial palm and rapeseed oil at home, don’t add it at all. The oil is needed so that the dough is a little more elastic than it would be without oil, that's all. By the way, if you suddenly feel the urge to show miracles of unprecedented generosity and pour half a glass of butter into the dough at once (why waste time on trifles, we measure everything out in glasses!), we warn you: this dough will have to dry until the next New Year. So you better be greedy. Or remember the golden mean and add a spoon, just one tablespoon of oil.

Now it's time to turn on your intuition. Add flour. We immediately measure the glass (the scales said that it turned out 160 g flour).

And into his water, straight into salt water.

Stir - you get thick, thick sour cream. You can't fashion anything out of it! The photo is a little unclear, but the meaning is 100% clear - there is not enough flour, you don’t have to be a professor of salty toy business to understand this.

Therefore, feel free to add another full spoonful of flour ( plus 20 g flour).

Mix. It’s okay, it already looks like something.

But in essence, it’s not enough: the dough sticks to your hands and its appearance speaks of your personal unwillingness to turn into Christmas tree decorations.

Add another spoon ( plus 20 g flour).

Oh, this is already beautiful - the dough has gathered into a ball, nothing sticks to the walls.

We check - everything is in perfect order in our hands too.

Well, almost completely - still, some tiny particles still stick to your hands, so you can play it safe and add another teaspoon of the dry ingredient (plus 5 g of flour). Extremely intuitive.

By the way, the longer you knead, the better the gluten of the flour will develop and the easier it will be to work with the dough - so let the processor work, it won’t hurt.

We check with our fingers - nothing sticks at all, the indentations in the dough do not blur, the dimples “hold” their shape. It’s worth stopping at this point - excess flour will negatively affect the products, they will crumble, such dough is very, very nasty and difficult to work with.

Last test just in case - everything is fine.

Next is a proprietary secret: take a lump of dough and throw it forcefully on the table. Collect again into a ball and throw again. Once again. And so on - until you get tired of it, but at least 10-15 times - this way you will make it homogeneous, more elastic, pleasant and smooth.

That's it, you can wrap it in a bag so that the dough does not dry out while you prepare for the second stage.

By the way, many sources say that the dough needs to rest, they suggest wrapping it in three rolls of cling film and hiding it in the refrigerator for at least a day, or better yet, for almost a month. Liars! No, of course, nothing bad will happen if you have a week left and you let the test rest, but if you feel the urge to work with it right now, if you can’t deny your inspiration, then there’s no need - let’s do it right away !

Step 2 - cutting out the figures

This is perhaps the most interesting stage of work - creative, imaginative, “pure” and simple.

You can go three ways.

The first is not to cut out figures from salt dough, but to sculpt them - remembering school labor lessons or Roni Oren’s books, puffing and trying. In general, this is a very worthwhile and interesting option, but on one condition: if the level of your skills is such that, if you are going to sculpt an elephant, you at least get a cat, and not, waving a crooked hatchet, claim that this is actually a sleigh Santa Claus, then, of course, you can try.

The second is to print from the Internet or draw yourself templates of flat New Year's toys (Christmas balls, Santa Claus's bag, bells, jingles, stars, icicles), and then, following solely the call of love for art, apply the templates to the dough, carefully and almost jewelry-cut them out with using a knife, making sure to be especially careful when turning: one awkward movement -

The third is not to reinvent the wheel and not to discover America, but to simply take cookie cutters and cutters for working with mastic and, using their help, cut out something simple, accessible and thematic. If you have a special passion for creativity, you should reassure yourself with the hope that your needs will be fully realized at the stage of painting and painting.

So, place a small piece of dough (we hide the rest in a bag, don’t relax) on a lightly floured surface.

We roll it out as we want, the main thing is evenly, while remembering that the thicker the toy is, the longer it will take to dry. The optimal size is 3 mm: it won’t break, but it will dry quickly.

Of course, not themselves: the use of child labor at this stage is welcomed and encouraged in every possible way. Mom needs to drink coffee sometime!

With a properly organized labor process, everything will be done quickly and efficiently.

Don’t forget to immediately make holes for future strings that will help hang the toys from the tree.

Or a lot of holes - for reliability: so that there is definitely something to cling to.

Please note that some cookie cutters leave “rags” on the cut - if they are thin and small, there is no need to remove them; they will fall off during the drying process, but if they are thicker, then it is better to spend another five minutes and carefully cut everything off.

Yield of products from the specified proportions.

Step 3 - drying

But here you have to slow down. If you want to cope with the task of making New Year's toys from salt dough in one day, you need to dry the products in the oven at a minimum temperature. Depending on the thickness of the toys, you will need 3-7 hours - put everything on a baking sheet, turn on the oven at 50-70 degrees, do not forget about the fan and wait, periodically opening the door slightly to “release” the moisture and occasionally turning the figures from side to side.

You can take a simpler route - lay out the toys on a sheet of parchment paper and leave them alone for several days. Depending on the room temperature, you will need 3-5 days for the salt dough figures to dry completely. Once a day they need to be turned over to the other side - you will see how the color of the toy will change during the drying process: the wet spot in the middle will be yellower than the white dried edges.

Do not try to speed up the drying process of toys - they will either burn (yes, this is possible!) or become severely deformed. Be patient, go for a walk, work out your abs, make homemade marshmallows - in general, anything, just not to rush things.

Well-dried products are uniform in color, do not wrinkle or bend, are light and pleasant.

Step 4 - painting and decorating

Do I need to tell you something? Take acrylic, gouache or even watercolor, contours and varnishes, multi-colored rhinestones and beads, brushes and sticks, toothpicks and cotton pads, forks and markers, pencils and needles - everything that can be used for drawing in one way or another.

And draw. Paint it. Create. Decorate. Get creative. Create. Gush out. Create. All in your hands.

It is convenient to immediately hang painted toys on all protruding parts of the house to dry.

And the final decoration is done after the first layer of paint has dried.

A very wonderful remedy is spray paint: quick and easy. Lays down smoothly, dries instantly, labor costs are minimal.

Children's creativity - it is so... childish and beautiful!

Salt dough figurines can be used as Christmas tree decorations, as decor for self-wrapped gifts, and as figurines for other projects - for example, advent calendars.

Salted dough

On our website you can see many different crafts created based on salt dough.

Here one of the recipes for the manufacture of salt dough:

1Mix a glass of flour and 1 glass of salt.

Then pour in 125 ml of water(the volume is approximate, because the amount of water may depend on the type of flour you used for the dough). Stir this mass again with a spoon, and then knead with your hands until a homogeneous consistency. Some people use a mixer for this purpose.

By the way, water can be replaced with jelly made from potato starch (dissolve 1 tablespoon of starch in 1/2 cup of cold water. Then pour another 1 glass of boiled water into this liquid, stirring. When the jelly thickens and becomes transparent, remove from heat. received the paste). The dough will only benefit from such a replacement - it becomes more plastic.

Just don't overdo it! If the dough is too soft, knead it with a little extra flour and salt mixture. Salty dough there must be dense.

Now you can sculpt! It is better to sculpt on a sheet or board - this is a good place for drying. The drying itself is carried out at a temperature of +80C in the oven for an hour, or on a radiator (in winter). The drying time depends on the thickness of the figurine.

If you need color salty dough , then it can be colored either at the kneading stage, using food coloring or gouache, which is convenient when working with small children; or paint the finished product after complete drying.

And our craftswomen have their own subtleties and secrets for working with salt dough. That's why , go to the blog , Whose work did you like and ask! I’m sure the craftswomen will be happy to share with you!

P.S. Reminder on how to make the required color:

cyan = blue + white

pink = white + red

purple = blue + pink

green = blue + yellow

orange = yellow + red

brown = green + red

emerald = green + blue

flesh = light pink + a little yellow

gold and silver will be obtained if you add the corresponding color of gouache or acrylic, in the same way you can get glitter dough(gel for gouache)

When working with salt dough many come up with amazingly beautiful names - testoplasty , bioceramics and even, flour ! But whatever you call it, the result sometimes exceeds all our expectations! The birth of a salt dough masterpiece is always an event! Happy creativity and peace to everyone!

Not a single New Year can do without a Christmas tree. You can make a salad with cucumbers instead of Olivier, replace champagne with cognac, but you simply must put up a Christmas tree. It is she, the beauty, who will bring you a festive New Year's mood.

And since not everyone and not always manages to bring a fluffy Christmas tree home, we thought and thought and came up with a way to get a Christmas tree without leaving home. You will need flour, salt, water, acrylic paints, cardboard, scissors, tape, a brush, a foam sponge, a couple of marker caps. First you need to decide on the size of the tree you need. The taller and wider you want to get the tree, the larger the diameter you will need to draw a circle. You can use any plate, pan or even bucket as a round template. Trace a circle, cut it out of cardboard and cut it into two equal parts.

Cover each cardboard semicircle on one side with tape.

This must be done so that later it will be convenient to remove the Christmas tree from the frame. Roll the semicircle into a cone and secure the edges with tape.

Knead the salt dough according to the recipe: 100 grams of flour, 100 grams of salt and 50 ml of water. Add water to the dry mixture little by little, kneading the dough thoroughly. Cover the entire cone with dough, being careful to evenly distribute the layer of dough and not deform the frame.

For decoration, use whatever you like. Since there were only a couple of markers on hand, it was decided to use caps. Holes were cut out with one, smaller in diameter, and prints were made with the second cap, with a snowflake pattern.

Send the Christmas trees to dry in any warm place. Do not remove the product from the cardboard base until the dough is completely dry. Our Christmas trees dried for about 24 hours in a warm oven. Carefully remove the frame.

Paint the Christmas trees green.

After the first coat of paint has dried, use a sponge to lightly apply a translucent coat of white paint.

Now the salt dough Christmas tree is ready. We decided not to decorate the tree with anything else, but to use it as a New Year’s candlestick. Small tablet candles were ideal for miniature candlesticks. However, be careful, the surface of the candlestick heats up quite quickly and strongly, so blow out the candles directly through the holes on the Christmas tree. Be careful and do not leave candles unattended!
