Topiary "Heart" - a great gift for loved ones. How to make a heart-shaped topiary How to make a heart-shaped topiary from coffee

Since ancient times, the heart represents love and tenderness. This symbol is present everywhere, whether it is a familiar element on household items or it may be an unusual coffee topiary presented to lovers for the holiday. Next, we offer you a master class on how to make a do-it-yourself topiary in the shape of a heart from various materials.

Do-it-yourself topiary "heart" from coffee: master class

It's always nice to give a handmade item as a gift. They look unusual and cute in their own way, reminding of the person who gave you a gift. Recently, coffee bean topiaries have become very popular. Let's look at how to make a heart-shaped coffee decor.

For manufacturing you will need:

  • Cardboard;
  • Coffee beans;
  • Scissors;
  • Cotton pads;
  • Pencil;
  • Universal glue;
  • Threads;
  • jute thread;
  • plastic pot;
  • PVA glue;
  • Thick wire;
  • Brown gouache;
  • Satin ribbons.

Master class for making coffee composition:

  1. At the beginning, we will make a cardboard heart template by drawing it with a pencil, and then cut it out with scissors. The simpler the template, the easier it will be to further make the composition.
  2. Cotton pads will be needed in order to make a three-dimensional figure. Carefully wetting the disks with PVA glue, we put them on a cardboard blank to the desired volume.
  3. Then you should bandage the workpiece with ordinary threads and leave to dry.
  4. As everything dries, it is better to paint the product with brown gouache so that the base is of a uniform color.
  5. While everything dries, you can make a trunk for the heart. Taking the wire, twist it as you like, and carefully wrap the entire trunk with jute thread, fixing the edge well.
  6. Let's go back to the blank, in the center of the heart we fix a loop of tape and, starting from the edge to the center, we will fix the coffee to the base using universal glue. To avoid gaps, it is better to place the coffee as tightly as possible. The grains can be glued in the form of some kind of pattern, or they can also be placed end-to-end. The reverse side must be done in the same way.
  7. At the end of the work, we proceed to the assembly of the topiary. We lower the trunk to the bottom of the plastic pot and fill it with a solution of putty, alabaster or gypsum. The mixture must be completely dry.
  8. As soon as everything dries, we decorate the surface of the pot, for this we grease the main part with glue and sprinkle coffee beans on top. Next, it remains to hang a coffee heart and the craft is ready. You can complement the composition with a bow and various beads.

This master class showed that making a coffee accessory with your own hands is not difficult at all. Having invested all your love and diligence in such a product, you will give a lot of positive emotions to yourself or the person to whom you will present this beauty.

Do-it-yourself heart-shaped topiary: fabric master class

Now let's look at another MK how to make a do-it-yourself topiary heart out of fabric.

In the course of work, you will need:

  • Cardboard;
  • Cotton wool;
  • Silk or organza;
  • Wooden skewers;
  • Threads;
  • plastic pot;
  • Universal glue;
  • Gypsum solution.

Master class for making silk compositions:

  1. At the beginning of MK, you need to make a cardboard blank, cut out two templates for the heart of the same size and glue them together. To give the figure volume, wrap it with cotton wool and rewind it with threads. Then we apply a red napkin to the prepared surface and cover it with water and PVA, so that it sticks to the cotton wool better.
  2. For the stem, take three sticks and rewind them together. To fix the stem, it is necessary to cut a small hole at the cardboard base and glue it first to one layer, and finish with the second on top.
  3. Next, we proceed to the manufacture of decorative elements - silk flowers. To do this, cut out 3-4 circles of different diameters from a red fabric. Then you need to singe the sides of the circles with the help of fire. Now we will collect the flower by folding 3-4 different circles, and fix the middle with a loop with a white bead. Now that everything is ready, let's proceed to the final design. We glue fabric flowers to the base, we try to place larger ones in the center, and smaller ones from the edges, we close the remaining gaps with the smallest ones.

Toward the end of the MK, it is recommended to wrap the stem with tape or thread. Then pour the gypsum mortar into the pot, fix the stem in it and leave it to dry completely. It remains to decorate the ground and add various elements as desired.

Silk flowers for topiary: master class (video)

Do-it-yourself heart-shaped topiary can be made not only from coffee and fabric, but also from other various materials, such as coins, cones or napkins, as previously described in the master class. A coffee topiary is perfect for kitchen decor, and a fabric accessory can be presented for any occasion. Most importantly, when making such artificial trees, do not forget to show your imagination in full force, then the topiary will become the subject of everyone's attention.

To all coffee lovers. This tree will not only please your eye, but also fill your home with an invigorating aroma.

To make coffee topiary you will need:
- coffee beans;
- cardboard, in my craft - corrugated;
- cotton pads for removing make-up;
- paper napkins;
- threads;
- acrylic paint brown or black, brush;
- stick for sushi;
- leg-split;
- a cup with a saucer;
- gypsum or putty;
- cinnamon stick, star anise, satin ribbons, beads for decoration;
- heat gun and glue.

The initial stage of work is the preparation of the heart itself, of course, in a specialized store you can buy a foam blank or find a plastic heart somewhere, but I suggest you do it yourself from ordinary cardboard. So, draw a heart, cut out two blanks. Having well glued one of the blanks with glue, we fix the stick and collect the heart.

To form the volume, glue the heart with cotton pads, wrapping them on the end part of the workpiece. For the convenience of painting, I pasted paper white napkins.

In order for the whole structure to hold well and not crumble, we tie the heart with threads.

The next step is to paint the heart with black or brown acrylic paint.

Thus, we create a uniform background that will not be striking, even if some piece of the surface of the heart is not covered with coffee beans. Painting is especially relevant if you decide to make a heart with one layer of coffee.

After the paint has dried, you can proceed to the most important stage - gluing coffee beans. I start from the end, gluing the grains cut down, filling the entire workpiece.

We paste the second layer of coffee with the cut up, trying to place the grains in the aisles of the first layer. If you accidentally poured a lot of glue and it is visible, you can paint over the glue with brown acrylic paint.

We decorate the trunk of the topiary, smearing it with glue and tying it with twine.

Now the topiary needs to be fixed in the cup. To do this, we dilute the gypsum (putty) quite thickly, insert the trunk, trying to keep it level, and wait for a while for the trunk to stand on its own.

After the gypsum has dried, we decorate it with coffee beans fixed with glue. You can also walk on the plaster with brown paint, cover it with a layer of leaf tea or ground coffee.

Glue a cinnamon stick, star anise and ribbon onto the heart. At the base of the heart, we tie a bow of brown satin ribbon, up to 1 cm wide, decorate the knot with a bead.

We decorate the base with a rosette twisted from a red satin ribbon, 25 mm wide. We plant a few coffee beans on a saucer with glue. Also, at the end, you can cover the coffee beans with acrylic varnish, which does not interrupt the smell of coffee.

Here is your topiary and completed! A little imagination, patience - and a great extraordinary gift for a loved one is ready!

It is customary to wish happiness at any celebration, or maybe it is worth enhancing the effect and giving a tree of happiness - a topiary? Or just treat yourself to a new decor element for your home. In any case, a do-it-yourself topiary will give a little joy. Human imagination and ingenuity "spawned" many options for creating this tree. They differ in shape, color and material of manufacture. Corrugated paper is widely used, which we will use for our Heart Topiary.

Required inventory and materials:

Cup with saucer;
- corrugated paper (red, burgundy, pink and green);
- barbecue sticks;
- satin ribbon (pink and burgundy);
- glue (PVA and liquid nails);
- masking tape;
- threads;
- gypsy needle;
- cardboard;
- gold sequins;
- a simple pencil;
- scissors;
- ruler;
- stapler;
- newspapers;
- Styrofoam;
- rod for the handle.

Do-it-yourself technology for making topiary "Heart"

Let's start with making a cupid. On white cardboard with a simple pencil, draw his silhouette.

You can print the scheme of our cupid from here.

We cut it out with scissors and with the help of a gypsy needle we skip a red thread in the middle of the cupid. Then, on any unnecessary piece of paper, pour a little gold glitter.

Lubricate one side of the cupid with PVA glue and dip this side into glitter. We let it dry a little and do the same with its “rear”. Then you can hang it by a thread somewhere so that the shine grabs well. If there are places left, then carefully drip the glue and dip it in the shine again. But it is quite possible to leave it in the form as it turned out, the figure will seem voluminous.

From the cardboard we cut out 2 identical heart shapes (the cupid should fit easily in the middle).

We put together 4 barbecue sticks and fasten them in several places with masking tape.

With the blunt side of the sticks, glue them to one heart shape. And around the perimeter of it we glue twisted pieces of newspaper - they will give the necessary volume (it is better to switch from PVA glue to liquid nails or another powerful analogue).

We drip a little glue on a saucer and put a cup on it, pressing it down a little. Inside the cup, we “sit down” a piece of foam plastic on the glue.

We return to the heart. We wrap the barrel of barbecue sticks with pink ribbon. We glue the two halves of the heart and wrap them with masking tape. We cut out a circle from cardboard along the diameter of the cup with a margin of 1.5 cm. We cut this margin with a fringe. We make a hole in the middle of the circle and insert the barrel into it.

Since the second end of the barrel is sharp, we simply stick it (previously lubricated with glue) into the foam in the cup. We fill the free space in it with newspapers. And we lower our circle of cardboard down.

We cut out a huge number of squares 2.5 * 2.5 cm in size from corrugated paper of 3 colors. The trimming technique is not particularly difficult: insert the pen rod (blunt end) into the middle of the square and “hug” the rod with paper.

Without removing the paper, dip the tip into the glue and apply it to the mold, press for a second and easily remove the rod (liquid nails are good because they are odorless, do not sag the paper and provide a very reliable grip).

Having finished on one side, go to the end and the back side.

We will decorate the bottom with flowers. We cut out circles with a diameter of 2.5 cm from corrugated paper of 3 colors. We put them in 6-7 layers in a different sequence by color. In the middle we fasten with a stapler. And starting from the top leaflet, one by one we lift and gently squeeze.

Glue the flowers on the circle first.

Then from one outside of the cup and down on the saucer. Since it is unlikely that flowers can be glued closely to each other, we fill the remaining space with greenery using the trimming method.

The final touch remains - we tie a purple ribbon to the trunk, which we tie with a bow. All! We made a topiary with our own hands! This will be a great addition to a gift to your loved ones for Valentine's Day, March 8 and other celebrations. And, of course, the "Heart" topiary will perfectly fit into the interior of its creator's house! Create for fun and be happy!

Topiary "heart" with your own hands how to make? Master class, photo?

    Topiary Two hearts made of beads. The finished topiary looks like an exquisite home decoration that you can give and be happy with.

    We look at the manufacture of topiary from the photographs. Those who have already made topiaries will be able to do a similar job.

    A heart topiary is made in exactly the same way as a regular one. Its basis is a heart, you can buy it in needlework stores, but, unfortunately, you can not find it everywhere. You can make a heart like this: Make a pattern on thick paper and cut out two parts of the heart (with a margin for seams) from thick fabric. Sew them together, leaving a hole for stuffing, and stuff inside with scraps of fabric.

    On the eve of Valentine's Day, I want to do something pleasant for my soul and heart with my own hands. Such a wonderful gift will surely please a close friend or girlfriend, you can also give it to a relative.

    To complete the craft you will need the following:

    • tulle, paper, napkins, threads;
    • cardboard to make the basis for the heart;
    • barrel from improvised materials (different options);
    • alabaster (gypsum plaster) plus water;
    • for decorating beads, buttons, ribbons, beads, etc.

    The first step is to strengthen the trunk at the base. It is poured with alabaster, which is prepared by mixing with water in a ratio of 1: 1 to make it like thick sour cream.

    A branch of a tree (for example, corylus, as in the image) is inserted into a pot and filled with building plaster, you have to wait for it to grab and be strong. Also, as a branch, you can use a wire wrapped with threads or paper. A branch of a tree can be purchased at a flower shop and painted with varnish.

    It is very important (!) For those who take a ceramic pot as a pot. The gypsum heats up a bit as it sets and expands, so the pot will be cracked. To avoid this, the inside should first be laid with foam, or crumpled foil, so that they straighten out a little when the volume becomes larger, and the gypsum fills the pot.

    As a basis, we cut out a heart from cardboard and fix it to the branch with a glue gun, or glue - Moment-Crystal.

    To give volume to the cardboard heart, we attach crumpled paper to it, fix it with threads, and around it is a red napkin, it will be under a layer of tulle.

    Cut the tulle into square pieces. We fold each of the squares in half to make a triangle, then each triangle in half again. After that, we apply the triangle with the base to the heart base and glue it with a glue gun carefully so as not to burn ourselves, helping with a toothpick. So we glue the pieces tightly until we glue the entire surface.

    Topiary heart is ready.

    Have a nice holiday!

    Topiary in the form of a heart can be presented for many holidays - Valentine's Day, birthday, wedding anniversary, March 8 and others. But it is not at all necessary to order such a topiary in the salon. It can be made at home - with your own hands. It is very simple to do this, just like a regular topiary, only the base is not a lump of newspapers, but a heart shape, for example, from wire. We attach a leg to the heart, lower the leg into a pot with gypsum, after solidification, you can decorate.

    Here are some ideas for making heart-shaped topiary:

    Heart-shaped topiary can be made from a variety of materials. I can tell you how I made a corrugated paper heart topiary using the trimming technique. This method is very convenient for beginners, since it practically does not require any costs, it is done simply (but not quickly), but it looks spectacular. You will need cardboard from the box, corrugated paper, a wooden stick, a satin ribbon, a pot (I took a glass jar instead and decorated it with paper), gypsum. Cut out two identical hearts from cardboard. It is more convenient to do this with a stencil, I first drew a template on a folded newspaper, then I just circled it on cardboard. Two cardboard parts need to be glued together by inserting a stick between them from below. Cut paper into squares. Then take a pen and wrap the squares around the end, crimping around the edges. Dip in glue and, without removing it from the handle, press it against the cardboard base. So fill the whole heart, including the thin side parts. Wrap the stick with ribbon, you can also tie a bow of a different color, and insert it into a pot of plaster. You can further decorate to your liking. I masked the gypsum with strips of green corrugated paper, thinly sliced.

    The picture is not mine, I got something like this, but I made a heart with a hole in the middle.

    Since ancient times, topiary has been made from living plants.

    Now there is an opportunity to show imagination and products from various improvised materials have become possible.

    You can make a heart-shaped topiary, for example, from coffee beans.

    It turns out not only beautiful, but also fragrant. It is a wonderful interior decoration and a wonderful gift for any occasion.

    Topiary from coffee beans.

    We need a cup and saucer, a foam heart on a stick, scotch tape, wire, Moment glue, coffee in grains, gypsum, knitting threads, a needle, brown acrylic paint, star anise, satin ribbon.

    The wire is wrapped with adhesive tape (painting tape), smeared with glue, tightly wound threads. The wire must be shaped into a spiral.

    We glue the foam heart with adhesive tape. We thread a thread into the needle, pierce the heart, stretch the thread, forming a loop.

    Paint the heart with acrylic paint.

    We glue the grain with the convex side up, the second tier - with the grooves up.

    Decorate the heart with an anise flower.

    The trunk is decorated with a satin ribbon.

    We glue the cup to the saucer, fill it with plaster.

    We insert the topiary there and wait for the plaster to set.

    After that, we decorate the container itself with acrylic paint, grain and star anise. We hang the composition by the loop.

    Another version of the topiary. They can decorate any solemn event, starting from a birthday and ending with a wedding.

    To make it, we need a flower pot (plastic), artificial flowers (preferably small roses), white paper napkins, thick cardboard, plastic tube, ribbons, gypsum, water, solution container, scissors, pencil, paper, hot melt adhesive.

    Draw and cut out a heart from cardboard.

    We crumple dense balls from napkins, glue them over the heart on both sides, tightly so that there are no gaps.

    Lubricate the tube with glue and wrap it with tape, fix the tip with glue.

    We glue the tube to the heart.

    We dilute the gypsum to the consistency of sour cream, pour it into the pot, without adding 5 cm to the top.

    We insert the product into a pot of plaster, holding it until it seizes.

    We decorate the heart pasted over with napkins with artificial flowers (roses), gluing them tightly to each other.

    We decorate the place under the barrel with a ribbon in random order, having previously smeared it with glue. We tie a satin ribbon on the barrel.

    All master classes for making heart-shaped topiary combine several principles.

    Topiary consists of:

    The crown and trunk are made of durable material - this is the basis.

    Then we immerse the barrel in a glass and fill it with gypsum.

    The design must be strong and stable.

    Well, the most pleasant thing in this work is decorating.

    The basis is almost identical for all topiaries - a trunk, a pot (planter), except that we replace the standard ball shape, which is easy to buy in needlework stores - a real foam ball, with a heart shape, and here, if you don’t find it in stores for needlework such a heart, then you will have to make it yourself from papier-mâché.

    More details in the video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFxrv5X5TmA

    We cut out a heart from thick cardboard. We connect it to the trunk with hot glue. For the trunk, you can use wire, barbecue skewers, a simple branch. At your discretion.

    To give the heart volume, we coat it with PVA glue, glue a crumpled newspaper or toilet paper. You can use napkins. We wrap everything with threads.

    We do this on both sides. So that the surface is even, wrap the heart with toilet paper and thread on top.

    We take a floral organza and cut it into ribbons 4.5 cm wide, and then into 4.5 by 4.5 squares. It will take about 400 squares. If the organza is red, then the heart should be covered with a red napkin so that the white paper does not shine through.

    We put the trunk of the heart in a pot and fill it with plaster. To do this, we dilute it in cold water, put it in a pot and insert the trunk. We equalize the top and wait until it hardens.

    Working with organza will take a lot of time, but the result is worth it.

    Fold the square diagonally.

    Then we fold again.

    On both sides, bend the corners to the middle.

    We drip glue on the heart blank and glue the folded square. We press it with a toothpick so that it sticks better. First we glue it along the contour, and then from all sides.

    We coat the gypsum in a pot with PVA glue and glue napkins of the same color as the organza to it in several layers. Glue the folded squares on top of the napkins.

    We decorate the heart with beads. We glue the rose. From the satin ribbon we tie a bow on the trunk.

    We also decorate the lower part. It turns out a very delicate and beautiful heart topiary.

    The folded organza should be glued not at the very corner, but about 0.5 cm.

The heart topiary is a great home decoration, perfect for classic or romantic interiors. It can be made from improvised materials: artificial flowers, ribbons, cones, shells or coffee beans. The size can be any, with your own hands you can make both a cute miniature and a product of a meter height. A heart-shaped topiary makes a wonderful gift, inexpensive, but quite elegant.

Topiary: a mini tree for the home

Topiary is a decoration in the form of a small tree with a curly crown. Most often it is made in the form of a ball, but there are also more unusual options: a heart, a flower, any simple figure. Ready-made products can be purchased at a floristic salon or a gift shop, often such compositions are made to order, choosing the style of the interior and the shades in which it is decorated.

In needlework magazines, you can get ideas on how to make a topiary with your own hands. The master class is very simple and understandable even for beginners. Any materials are suitable for work, experienced craftsmen create magnificent crafts from dried fruits, cones, shreds, plastic bags. The finished product does not lose its decorative effect for a long time, from time to time it is fanned with a whisk, removing dust, or vacuumed. To prevent the topiary from fading, it is important to place it in dry places and protect it from direct sunlight.

Craft from coffee beans: a gift for gourmets

A very interesting option is a heart-shaped coffee topiary. The composition, sustained in soothing natural colors, can be placed in the living room or dining room. Coffee topiary is best made from high quality beans. They have an even shape and a beautiful rich color. The product will fill the room with a pleasant unobtrusive aroma for a long time.

For work you will need:

  • roasted coffee beans;
  • faience mug or cup with a saucer;
  • thick wire;
  • glue gun;
  • cardboard;
  • newsprint;
  • thick brown threads;
  • gypsum or alabaster;
  • twine.

A heart blank is cut out of cardboard. The heart should not be too big, it is important that the cup in which the composition will be strengthened does not tip over. The cardboard is coated with glue, crumpled newsprint is laid on top. The heart is formed by hands, wrapped with threads, a loop is inserted from above.

The workpiece is pasted over with coffee beans in 2 layers. The second layer consists of grains glued with a strip to the outside. The heart is set aside to dry. A thick wire is twisted in the form of a spiral, the upper part is folded into a ring. The wire is tightly wrapped with twine, the turns are fixed with glue. On top of the workpiece is wrapped with threads or a narrow brown ribbon.

Alabaster or gypsum is diluted in a separate container. A wire support is installed in the cup and filled with liquid gypsum. When the mass hardens, it must be covered with two layers of coffee beans, fixing them with glue. The heart is suspended by a loop to the top of the spiral.

Coffee topiary can be additionally decorated by attaching star anise, small cinnamon sticks or dried orange slices. If desired, the heart can not be hung, but fixed on the trunk, turning the composition into an elegant coffee tree.

Ribbons and flowers: a heart in a romantic style

You can make a heart topiary with your own hands from ribbons, organza, artificial flowers. Such a product can be designed in any delicate colors: pink, white, cream, beige, lilac. Gold or silver add-ons look spectacular. The ribbon tree will be a nice gift for engagement, wedding, birthday or housewarming.

For work you will need:

  • narrow silk ribbon in 2 shades (for example, pink and white);
  • thin wire;
  • a pot or small vase for the base;
  • alabaster;
  • glue gun;
  • scissors;
  • several crystals made of plastic;
  • ready-made artificial roses of different sizes (white or pink);
  • floral straw.

The basis for the composition in the form of a heart is easiest to purchase in a floristic salon.

Suitable sponge for artificial flowers, it is very easy to work with. A hole is cut in the lower part of the heart with a sharp knife, corresponding to the thickness of the stem.

Silk ribbons of white and pink color are cut into strips, then each is folded into a bow. The wire is cut into pieces about 2 cm long. The rolled tape is fixed in the middle and secured with a drop of glue. To fix the bow well and not burn your fingers, the tape is pressed against the wire with the blunt end of a toothpick. The blanks are laid out to dry. Artificial roses of different sizes are fixed on wire stems in the same way.

Glue is poured into the hole of the heart from a floral sponge. Then the upper end of the stem is inserted into it and pressed for good fixation. The blanks from the tapes, fixed on the wire, are alternately stuck into the sponge so that there are no noticeable gaps between them. Color combinations are chosen to taste. Ribbon bows are interspersed with roses of different sizes. A properly designed heart should look neat and even. Transparent plastic crystals imitating dew drops are glued on top of the tapes.

Alabaster mixed with water is poured into the base pot. The lower end of the stem is placed in the container. When the alabaster hardens, it is masked with floristic straws. A pink silk ribbon is tied to the stem right under the heart. For greater reliability, it is fixed with a couple of drops of glue, and then tied with a bow.

DIY topiary is not only beautiful, but also a very interesting hobby. Starting with the simplest compositions, you can gradually move on to more complex and fantasy ones. For some, this occupation turns into a profession. Beautiful and neat topiaries can be sold, they are in good demand in gift shops or flower shops.
