DIY candy gifts step by step. We make simple and beautiful bouquets of sweets with our own hands. Video tutorials for beginners on creating candy bouquets

Today, on a handicraft forum, I came across a request from a young lady to advise me on what materials to start with in order to try my hand at suite design. I immediately remembered how I myself was tormented by this issue, bought a bunch of materials, half of which are still lying around, collecting dust and being taken out of the bins extremely rarely (and some materials have not yet been unpacked at all). I think this problem is familiar to many. Therefore, I decided to write a review on the topic of materials and tools for candy floristry and reveal little secrets about what you need to try yourself in this type of needlework and not go broke (what if you change your mind after the first flower?). Because, believe me, if you buy everything at once, at least half of one of your rooms will be littered.
Well, I started talking... Let's start.

1. The first and most important material is corrugated paper.

We also make our flowers from it.

and pack hand bouquets,

and decorate the compositions,

and tape (wrap, hide) the stems of the flowers.
Italian corrugation is used for flowers and bouquet packaging. It has more density and corrugation, unlike other crepe papers, due to which it stretches well and allows you to create flowers that are close to their natural appearance. To “wrap” compositions, you can use Chinese or any other similar paper to reduce the cost of work.
The corrugation can be plain, metallized, or with a transition.
If you want to try yourself in suite design, but are not sure that you will do it thoroughly, buy three colors of corrugation that can be combined with each other (or at least red, white and pink!), as well as green corrugation for leaves and stems (preferably take number 560 or 591). Enough for testing.

2. Kebab skewers, toothpicks, wire.

All this is used for the stems of our flowers. And if everything is clear with skewers and toothpicks, then it’s worth focusing on the wire separately.
Usually in our candy crafts we use floral wire - drut. Comes in different diameters. The most convenient (in my opinion) is 1.2. And it holds the flowers well and bends easily. But sometimes for handmade spiral bouquets and decorative elements I use size 1.6 (or 1.4), and for branches of beads or other decorations you can use the thinnest wire (0.6) or bouillon wire (0.3) .
First, buy skewers and toothpicks so as not to go broke on wood, and if things get going, buy wire.

3. Packaging film.

Oh, this film... I have several unpacked rolls of it lying around... Of course, they will come in handy someday, but I was definitely in a hurry with their purchase.
So. The film can be very different. And matte, and glossy, and metallized, and with a pattern, and holographic... In general, there are all kinds!
Previously, it was fashionable to use so-called “cones” in bouquets. Holographic or glossy plain film is best suited for them. If you want to plunge into “retro suite design,” then it’s better to buy one roll of beautiful holographic film in the color that matches your idea. But don’t buy a lot of it at once! It may end up hanging in your closet for a long time.

There is also a transparent film. They wrap compositions with it to give them a finished “for sale” look.

Also, the film is used to fill the space between the flowers (so-called “pounders” are made from it and inserted into the basket between the flowers to cover the base). It's best to start by buying one roll of green matte film to imitate greenery.

4. The next frequently used material is organza.

It’s better to buy a florist too. It is impregnated, a little tougher than usual and does not crumble when cut. But to save money, you can buy a simple one.
Organza can also be different: plain, with a pattern, “snow” organza. It is also used for pounds (like film, only the composition is more delicate),

and for bouquet packaging,

and for decorating compositions.

If you just want to try candy making, you can do without organza, film is enough. If you do decide to purchase, choose green organza first to use it to fill the space between the flowers. And if you like it, buy other colors to suit your ideas and ideas.

5. Another floral material is mesh.

It comes with a small and large cell. Regular and "snow". Cobweb, metallic, shimmer...! Different! Beautiful! So hands are reaching out!))
The larger the cells, the stiffer the mesh. The snow mesh is one of the softest. Here you need to select it according to your needs.
A mesh is used for packing bouquets,

for decorating compositions,

for all the same pounds.
You can hold off on buying a mesh if you are not yet sure that you will be thoroughly interested in the candy and flower business.

6. Felt.

Used for packaging bouquets and decorative items. Also, some craftswomen make very beautiful flowers from it. I have not yet found a use for this material in my creativity. And I advise beginning craftsmen to hold off on using it until they understand what to use it for.

7. Sisal.

This is a material made from natural coarse fiber obtained from the leaves of the Agava sisolana plant from the Agave genus, sometimes the plant itself is called sisal. It comes in two types: sisal fabric and simply sisal fiber.
Sisal fabric is needed if you plan to wrap a frame for your bouquet in it, or beautifully pack a gift bottle, or want to use it as decoration. I don't really like sisal in canvas form. I rarely use it, and if I try to “ruffle” it, I end up with a huge number of nasty little splinters in my fingers.
Another thing is fiber. It’s very convenient for them to cover “holes” in bouquets instead of pound cakes. And if you drag a little more sisal “outside” the composition, you’ll get a beautiful effect of hay peeking out from the flowers)))

But, although sisal is a convenient material for work, you can’t rush into buying it either. To begin with, use film to fill the space, and when you get the hang of it, buy that too.

8. Polysilk.

A thin film similar to foil. Beautiful, thin, airy, but not cheap material. It stretches well, wrinkles, and is pliable. Ideal for wrapping gifts of complex shapes, for beautiful bows. In our craft, it is often used as a beautiful wrapper for candy, if its shape is suitable and the color is disappointing.

Or, for example, many people make strawberries out of sweets, wrapping the truffle sweetness in polysilic. At the very beginning of learning suite design, this material is not needed. But later it’s worth splurging on at least a couple of types of this amazing film.

9. Polystyrene foam, penoplex, polyurethane foam, floral foam.

You can “stick” our flowers into all these materials. What is more convenient and profitable for whom - everyone chooses for themselves. You can start with foam plastic, but it crumbles too much and is not very convenient to cut for this reason. Polyurethane foam is too dirty. Floral foam - more suitable for fresh flowers. Penoplex is the closest to me. It does not crumble when cut, flowers hold well in it, and it is convenient to cut complex shapes from it. But it's hard to cut. You need a very sharp knife. But once you get the hang of it, you can make interesting compositions with its help.

10. Baskets and frames.

There are separate master classes on the Internet on how to work with a frame. I've never bought it. I do it myself. Everything is clear with baskets. Buy a basket to suit your idea.

You can also create compositions on glasses or vases (corresponding master classes can also be found online).

11. Glue. It is best to use hot glue with a hot glue gun.

It's convenient, fast, strong. The main thing is to handle it carefully so as not to get burned (the glue is sooo hot!). You can buy the cheapest gun and replace it every time it burns out (yes, they often break from overheating). If you are just trying, then a cheap pistol from a store “all for a few rubles,” for example, is what you need. But if you have already been drawn into needlework, it is better not to be greedy and buy a good, expensive gun with heating modes. I have a pistol worth about 1000 rubles. I'm sooooo happy with them! Whatever pistol you choose, buy one with a narrow nose for 7mm rods. Since the work is usually quite delicate, it can be extremely inconvenient to work with a gun with a thick nose. I buy all the rods for the pistol in the same store “all for a few rubles.” It’s better, of course, to take expensive ones, they give less “snot”, but I save money here.
Also, sometimes Titan glue is used in the work (for gluing large areas) and regular pencil glue (for example, for gluing polysilic).

12. Tape.

Floral ribbon coated with wax. Due to the slight heating with your hands when working with it, it sticks well to the skewer/wire. Comes in different colors. Used for taping flowers. Attention! If your flower has a thick lower part where it is attached to the skewer, it is better to use corrugated tape for taping, because The tape is unlikely to seal this area.
You can also use fum tape. It is cheaper, adheres well, and is sold at any plumbing store. True, you need to get used to it, since the tape is very thin.

13. Ribbon imitating an aspidistra leaf.

Good for imitating leaves.

Not the cheapest. At the first stage, you can make leaves from corrugated paper.

14. Artificial greenery.

For filling and beauty of the bouquet (grass, leaves, small flowers).

15. Various tapes.

First, buy for a specific bouquet. As soon as you start getting really involved in candy floristry, you will have more than one box of ribbons))) That’s something you can never have too many of! And for filling, and for decoration, and for wrapping basket handles, and for tying a bouquet! But you never know where else your imagination will run wild!!! In addition to regular tapes, I have red and white thin polypropylene tapes in stock (for working moments).

16. Beads.

The same as with ribbons. There is never too much. To imitate dewdrops, it is better to buy half beads, they are more convenient and prettier.

17. Butterflies, bugs, rattan balls, hearts, birds - all this, of course, is necessary, but at the first stage it is absolutely not necessary. In addition, many of the decorative “goodies” can be made by yourself.

18. Tools: sharp sewing scissors, round nose pliers and/or pliers, wire cutters, construction knife, ruler, pencil, stapler, compass - all this will most likely be useful to you. So run and empty the boxes of your husband and children)))

19. Scotch tape, double-sided tape, thread - for attaching candies.

Well, we don’t throw away cardboard, foil rolls, cling film, beautiful boxes, and everything that you find useful in subsequent work with flowers and candies.

Let's summarize. To try to create your first simple compositions (for example: a bouquet in a basket, a hand bouquet, decoration for a box of chocolates) and spend a minimum of investment on it, we will need: corrugated paper of three colors that match each other, as well as green corrugation for leaves and taping stems; green film for pounds; skewers; polystyrene foam or penoplex; a small basket (about 14-15 cm in diameter is quite enough) or a pot; a pair of ribbons matching the selected corrugated paper; scissors; hot glue gun; threads or tape; and, of course, candy. The rest of the materials are up to your choice and budget.

I hope my review will be useful to beginners. And I wish you all success and inspiration!

P.S. The publication uses photographs of materials and tools from the Internet. Photos of finished works - author Margorina Anna.

It is customary to give flowers for various holidays, and this is already customary. Another thing is bouquets of sweets, they are original, beautiful, even tasty. With due diligence, you can make such a miracle with your own hands, using paper, sweets and your own imagination.

Such a gift will definitely be appreciated on March 8, February 14, birthday, wedding, or simply as a way to demonstrate your feelings. These can be universal bouquets or themed designs (heart-shaped for Valentine’s Day, eights for March 8, wedding ones with figures of doves, two connected rings). There are a lot of ready-made options from famous needlewomen, but you can come up with your own, original version of the decoration!

Bouquets of candy, of course, can be bought from craftsmen or in flower pavilions, but the technique for creating them is not so complicated that you should give up trying to make it yourself. Read the description of the master classes and understand - everything is quite possible!

The easiest way to make flowers with sweets is to use candies with wrappers-tails, to which you can easily attach skewers and other elements. You can even take lollipops - inexpensive, but varied.

Take: corrugated paper, threads, scissors, tape, caramels with different flavors but the same shape, bamboo skewers, optional decorative elements (beads, ribbons, wrapping film, organza);

The process of creating a masterpiece is as follows:

  • Attach caramels to each skewer with tape
  • cut the corrugation into long strips, fold them according to the desired width of the leaves, cut off the corners to make a garland

  • twist the petals onto the shaft of a pen or a toothpick
  • wrap the garland around the caramel, secure with thread, tape and green paper or floral tape on top
  • wrap the skewer in green paper
  • decorate all the “flowers” in the same way
  • collect them in a bouquet, wrap them again with a header, film or floral net.

Video master class on creating a candy bouquet from corrugated paper

Corrugated paper is an excellent basis for a variety of flowers - roses, gerberas, callas, peonies, and many others. A bouquet of dahlias looks very beautiful and is easy to make.

Necessary:

candies, ribbons, corrugation, glue gun, scissors;

  • cut from the “reaper” one strip measuring 5 by 6 centimeters and 3x5, two strips 3x12, five 4x12

  • a piece of tape is glued to the candy in the form of a loop using a glue gun (you can then easily pull the sweet out of the flower using it)
  • A petal is cut out from a 5x6 rectangle, and we stretch the petals with our hands. The candy is wrapped in it, a small stem is formed at the bottom

  • a 3 by 5 cm rectangle is folded like an accordion and cut out in the shape of a petal to form a garland
  • the petals of the garland are stretched from the edge, a candy is wrapped around it, and secured with glue

  • a 3x12 cm rectangle is again folded like an accordion, cut out with a petal, cut along the leaf
  • the bottom of the petals is glued inward, like an envelope. All petals are processed this way
  • glue the finished petals to the candy, the second row in a checkerboard pattern to the first

  • the remaining rectangles are also folded like an accordion, cut into petals, each of which is straightened, the garlands are glued along the contour
  • In this way, the buds in the desired quantity are precisely arranged and a bouquet is made from them.

Spring tulips look no less original - the most suitable flower for March 8 or February 14, and at other times such a gift will definitely not be rejected. Its production is as follows:

You need to prepare: corrugated paper of the chosen color, bamboo skewers, candy, glue gun, scissors;

  • cut the material into strips 2-3 cm wide and 15 cm wide, three pieces in total
  • fold each strip, twist in the middle, straighten a little in the shape of a petal
  • If necessary, glue the tail of the candy (it is better to take sweets without bulky protruding parts), pierce it at the base with a skewer
  • wrap the paper so that the solid spherical part is on top and the free sides are adjacent to the skewer
  • so use all three petals
  • cut a thin strip of about 20 cm long from green corrugated paper, cut into the shape of a long leaf
  • cut another small rectangular piece, wrap it around the base of the bud, secure with glue
  • secure everything with green floral tape, wrapping it around the stem, wrap a “leaf” 5-7 cm below the bud
  • collect a bouquet of such tulips.

Daffodils are gorgeous spring flowers that also look great in bouquets. They are made like this:

We will need white and yellow crepe paper, thread, scissors, pliers, small candies;

  • cut the yellow material into rectangles 1.5x7 cm, cut out the petals, stretch with scissors, twisting slightly, thus making 6 petals
  • fold a sheet of approximately 10 by 7 cm, stretching the edge of the fold, then stretch the place for the candy in the middle, put the sweetness there, twist it, wrap it with thread
  • stretch, straighten the top of the resulting core
  • We place the petals in the middle one at a time, wrapping them with thread (three in a row, the second row in a checkerboard pattern)
  • Next, you should screw the wire to the flower, wrapping it around the base, fixing it with pliers
  • cut out long thin stems from green paper
  • We wrap the wire with green tape, not forgetting to wrap the leaves as we go.

Bouquet of sweets in a basket for March 8

For World Women's Day, in addition to (or instead of) a gift, you can create an original composition with paper flowers based on candies.

The manufacturing technology is as follows:

base (circle made of plastic, wood, or other material), basket, ribbon, corrugated paper, organza;

  • Cut a circle from foam plastic to the size of the basket, place it inside
  • decorate the basket itself with ribbons, wrapping the handle and edges

  • We cut out squares from organza, fold them diagonally, then bend two corners inward, secure with a toothpick, secure with tape, it turns out to be a bow, just like this we make several dozen similar decorations
  • insert them into the base, forming a beautiful bottom

  • we install tulips there (read about the technology of their production in point 2).

Simple bouquets from Raffaello

Delicious Raffaello sweets are an excellent basis for a simple, quick bouquet.

It requires:

tape, thread, candy, bamboo sticks, crepe paper;

  • wrap the candies in tape, hiding their tails
  • insert a skewer into the sweetness
  • treat all rafaelki this way

  • cut the crepe paper into small strips, round the edges, wrap around the candy, secure with thread
  • make petals with a wide base, wrap them around the candy, forming a lush bud, secure everything again with thread

  • In the same way, make the required number of flowers, collect a bouquet, and decorate.

Candy bouquet of roses for February 14

For Valentine's Day, you should prepare a special gift - a bouquet of roses and sweets. It is better to make it in the shape of a heart - a symbol of love. This gift is suitable for both a girl and a guy; it’s easy to make like this:

Take: corrugated paper of the chosen color (pink, red, white plus green for leaves), glue, candies (preferably round ones), ribbon, a heart base made of polystyrene foam or polystyrene foam, small skewers;

  • cut the paper into rectangles 6×7 (1 piece), 6×10 (2 pieces), 6×15 (2 pieces) for each bud
  • We attach a piece of thin ribbon to the candy with a loop; it will then be convenient to pull the sweet out of the bud without damaging it
  • from a small rectangle we cut out a large petal, which we wrap around the candy
  • We fold a large rectangle like an accordion into five layers, cut off the corners, slightly trim along the folds, straighten the middle, curl the edges - we get five petals in a garland, we do the same with the rest of the stripes (smaller cuts will contain not 5, but 4 petals)
  • We wrap the resulting 4 rows of petals around the candy (first 4-petal, then 5), placing the last petal under the first for beauty, securing with glue
  • the last step is to straighten the petals and insert skewers from below (again on the glue)

  • We wrap the skewer with green corrugation, imitating a stem

  • the base should be covered with a pink header, wrapped with thick cardboard on the sides, forming small sides (later they will hold the buds)

  • carefully, using tongs or thin pliers, insert the buds into the base, “blooming” in the center, the buds along the contour
  • If desired, you can decorate roses with beads by placing them on glue.

Having given such a bouquet, we have the right to count on the most sincere emotions, because it is not only beautiful, but also unusual, tasty, original, and most importantly, made with our own hands. Of course, to create a decent present you will have to spend a couple of hours of your time, but our loved ones deserve it!

Often the question of how to please a loved one is very pressing, so interesting and original handmade gifts have recently become very popular. The recipient of the gift will certainly be delighted with a bouquet of sweets, complemented by various details and elements.

With all this, preparing such a surprise will not require large financial expenses from you, and in just a few evenings, by investing a minimum of money and maximum warmth, you can create an exclusive gift for a person close to you.

What materials are needed

Video tutorials will allow you to immerse yourself more fully in this process, understand the basic tricks, observe the creation technique, look at successful ways to complement compositions, types of flower designs, successful combinations of shades, etc.

The first point in the instructions for beginners will be the selection of tools and materials necessary for the creative process. Of course, the most important elements of the composition will be sweets. To create a chic bouquet, you need to choose candies that are not only very tasty, but also brightly and beautifully packaged.

It is also necessary to prepare corrugated or colored paper, lace, foil, satin ribbon, beads, beads, beautiful laces, ready-made figures and similar materials that will serve for an interesting design of the “flower” itself, or rather its petals and the composition as a whole.

There is no way to do without the material that will be used to create the bouquet packaging. A special mesh, suitable fabric or flower packaging sold in stores is suitable for this.

If you plan to make flowers on long stems, stock up on thin sticks, toothpicks, wire, etc.

To attach the “inflorescences”, foam rubber, polystyrene foam is used, and it is possible to use hardened polyurethane foam. To make the job easier, you will need a glue gun.

To fix the composite elements, tape is required. It is advisable to purchase several varieties of it: transparent, colored and paper.

If you plan to make a bouquet of paper and sweets in a vase, wicker basket, or flower pot, then be sure to prepare the desired container.

The list of the above materials is approximate; at your own discretion, after studying a variety of photos of bouquets of sweets, you can select for yourself the desired design elements and use them to build an exclusive composition. Bows, butterflies, birds, berries, fruits, etc. can be used for decoration.

The main tools you will need when creating a bouquet: regular scissors, paper glue, and pliers if you plan to use wire.

Creative process

Having prepared all the necessary materials and tools, you can begin to create. To begin with, we advise you to experiment: practice creating simple elements, individual inflorescences.

So, at the first stage, the candy is attached to the “stem”. Afterwards, you need to prepare and cut out petals of the required number and required shape from paper or fabric.

The method of attaching the petals and the design of the “flowers” themselves depends on your desires and preferences: let your imagination fly or look for good ideas in numerous photographs of candy bouquets.

After the candy flowers are made, proceed to forming the basis of the composition - arrange the flowers in a vase, basket, pot or wrapping paper, using the material chosen for fastening (foam rubber, foam, polystyrene).

To make the bouquet truly original and chic, make it additional decoration by decorating the finished composition with interesting elements: beads, ribbons, butterflies, tulle, figurines of berries and animals, perhaps even small soft toys.

A bouquet of sweets will be an excellent gift for any event. Having decided to create a composition with your own hands, choose the design you like as a sample, prepare all the necessary materials, be patient, put your soul into the creation process and you will definitely succeed!

Sweets are always a welcome gift for any holiday; children eagerly await them; they are given to ladies and loved ones. Sweet gifts are gaining great popularity and can well serve as an independent gift. On the Internet you can find photos of crafts made from sweets for every taste.

Candy stand

Crafts from candies are easy to make with your own hands for any holiday. The most popular are bouquets of sweets. Any candy is suitable for creating bouquets, but it is easier to work with round and light-weight ones.

Bouquet of roses

Necessary materials:

  • Candies 15-20 pieces
  • Long skewers
  • Corrugated paper in two colors for buds and green for petals
  • Glue gun
  • Scotch
  • Threads
  • Organza
  • Satin ribbons

We cut blanks from corrugated paper for petals measuring 8*12 cm, fold the blanks in half and round the ends, forming petals. We secure the candies on the skewers with tape. We tightly twist the candy into the petal and secure it with thread at the base. We stretch the edge of the corrugation, forming petals.

From green paper we cut out small pieces 0.7 cm wide, about 10 cm high, round the ends with scissors. For each flower you will need 4-5 leaves, glue them to the base of the flower so that the leaves are slightly higher than the petals. For realism, slightly curl the ends of the leaves. We wrap the skewers up to the middle with green paper and secure them with glue.

We collect the resulting flowers into a bouquet in a spiral and tie them with ribbon. We turn the bouquet over and decorate it with corrugated paper, and tie the packages with thread. We decorate the bouquet with organza on top and tie it with satin ribbons.

Additionally, the bouquet can be decorated with beads and bows made of satin ribbons. Candy flowers can be placed in a basket.

Candy heart

  • To make it you will need:
  • Styrofoam
  • Skewers or toothpicks
  • Candy flowers
  • Jewelry (beads, ribbons)

We take foam plastic 3 cm high to make the base, draw a heart on it and cut it out. We make flowers from candies according to the previous master class. Instead of long skewers, you can use toothpicks.

Glue corrugated paper to the resulting heart on both sides, use an awl to make holes and insert candy flowers. We decorate the edges of the heart with corrugated paper and organza, or tie it with a wide satin ribbon.

Sweet card

Necessary materials:

  • Thick cardboard
  • Sweets and chocolates
  • Colored paper

We select the size of the postcard ourselves, fold the cardboard in the shape of a book. For the base, instead of cardboard, you can use the cover of an old book. We write wishes on two sheets of paper of the required size and glue sweets; you can use white or colored paper.

We wrap the card-book with colored or wrapping paper, secure everything with glue, and paste sheets of wishes and sweets inside the card. We decorate the outside with beads and appliqués.

A postcard can be given not only for birthdays, but also to coincide with a themed holiday. Candies can be wrapped in colored paper, then they will resemble gift boxes.

Handmade gifts always delight the heart and eye; they speak of a special reverent attitude.

Candy crafts for children

For children, sweet gifts are made in the shape of animals or cars; such gifts are more complex. But with the help of step-by-step instructions, you can make a candy cake for children.

Two-tier candy cake

To prepare, you will need two round cardboard boxes of different diameters; you can make them yourself from cardboard, or use ready-made ones. The larger box will be the first tier of the cake, fill it with sweets and close it, place a smaller box on top and glue it. We also fill the insides with any sweets.

To decorate the ends you will need long candies of square or rectangular shape; we fix them in a circle with glue. The top of the cake can be decorated with small candies in multi-colored candy wrappers and small toys.

After the holidays there is always a lot of candy wrappers left over; they can be used for children's creativity or adult crafts. You can make simple Christmas tree decorations, colored appliques and much more from multi-colored candy wrappers.

Paper candy wrappers are suitable for creating origami figures, and snowflakes can be cut out from foil candy wrappers. Making crafts from candy wrappers will not only diversify children's creativity, but will also help save on materials.
