Composition and useful properties

Prunes are dried plum fruits that have a mild laxative effect. Ready-made dried fruits are obtained by drying fruits that have previously been exposed to steam or boiling water.

Regardless of the method of their preparation, they fully retain their healing qualities and can be stored for a long time.

Dried prunes are eaten in their natural form or soaked in water, added to many dishes, decoctions and infusions are prepared on their basis.

Important! The rich composition of prunes contains a full range of essential substances, including natural pectins, vegetable fiber, organic acids, vitamins of all groups, as well as vital trace elements.

This unique dried fruit perfectly improves intestinal motility, promotes the active formation of enzymes, starts the process of the digestive tract and accelerates the excretion of feces.

Dilution of feces occurs due to the large amount of fiber in the composition of prunes used for constipation.

Compared to conventional drugs, it has a stabilizing and restorative effect on the entire body, so eating prunes is necessary on an ongoing basis.

Since constipation retains dangerous substances in the intestines, entering the bloodstream and spreading throughout the body, this process can harm the fetus and provoke various diseases.

During treatment, the measure should be observed, due to the high content of fructose, it can cause skin rashes, increased sugar levels in the urine, and even serious weight gain.

After the appearance of such symptoms, it is worthwhile to suspend treatment for a while and seek the advice of a doctor.

Treatment of gastrointestinal problems in children

Prunes for constipation are equally useful for adults and children, but it must be remembered that this medicine is prohibited from prescribing to infants under six months, since plum fruits can adversely affect the gastrointestinal tract and cause diarrhea.

For children, compote based on dried fruits, such as raisins and prunes, is better.

For small children, puree is made using a blender and given as a nutritional supplement during complementary foods. It is prepared in several stages.

First you need to sort out the berries, remove the spoiled prunes, and pour the remaining fruits with hot water.

When they soften enough, they can be ground to a mushy state and given to the child in between main meals.

If there are contraindications from the pediatrician, it is better to exclude prunes from the diet. This happens in situations where the child has serious problems with the gastrointestinal tract.

Methods of use

For constipation, dried plum fruits are used fresh, they can also be brewed overnight and a healing infusion is prepared, which is very useful to drink in the morning.

Dried fruits also pair well with meats, including pork and beef.

Diet number 2: a general description

The peculiarity of the second table is that the diet provides the body with all the necessary nutrients, vitamins and minerals. Nutrition has a gentle effect on the mucous membrane of the stomach and intestines, stimulates secretion, and accelerates digestion. Products are subjected to different types of heat treatment and degree of grinding. Only food with coarse fibers is completely frayed, hard-to-digest foods are excluded.

Important! A characteristic feature of diet 2 according to Pevzner is the absence of a time frame. The treatment table can be used not only during an exacerbation of diseases, but also become a permanent nutrition system.

Indications and purpose of the diet

The main goal of the diet is to protect the mucous membrane of the stomach and intestines from mechanical and thermal damage, improve the digestion process, and speed up the healing process.

Table No. 2 is assigned for such indications:

  • Chronic diseases of the gastrointestinal tract in the acute stage (gastritis with low and high acidity, acute and chronic enteritis and colitis).
  • In acute diseases of the gastrointestinal tract at the stage of recovery, as a gradual transition to a normal diet.
  • During the preparation for the operation.
  • After suffering infectious diseases.

General characteristics of table number 2 according to Pevzner

Table number 2 is distinguished by good nutrition. The daily calorie content of the diet is 2500 kcal. The chemical composition is as follows:

  • 80 g of fats (up to 25% vegetable).
  • 350 g of carbohydrates.
  • Up to 10 g of salt.
  • At least 1.5 liters of fluid per day.

  • Food should be fractional, 4-5 times a day in small portions.
  • Recommended ways of processing dishes: stewing, boiling, steaming.
  • Exclusion of too hot and cold dishes (the optimum food temperature is 45-60 degrees Celsius). Contrasting temperatures irritate the gastric mucosa, can increase pain and impede recovery.
  • Compliance with the regime is recommended, it is better to think over the menu for each day in advance. Eating at the same time helps speed up the digestion process.
  • During the period of exacerbation during the first two days it is recommended to refrain from eating. An exception is a decoction of wild rose (2 tablespoons per glass of boiling water, leave for 30 minutes) and clean water. On the second day, you can include low-fat broth in the diet.

  • Good health in people suffering from gastrointestinal diseases.

The cost of the diet is not higher than the usual daily diet and will not hit the family budget - this is also a plus.

Of the minuses, they note the monotony of the diet (sweet teeth will have to be especially difficult), the need to mess around with the selection of products and the preparation of some of the right dishes.

  • Chronic gastritis with secretory insufficiency;
  • The period of recovery in acute diseases of the gastrointestinal tract;
  • Chronic enteritis;
  • Chronic colitis.
Gastritis- acute or chronic inflammation of the gastric mucosa. This disease appears as a result of exposure to the gastric mucosa of various chemical, physical or biological stimuli. At the same time, the digestive functions of the stomach are disturbed, and affected areas of various sizes and depths appear on its wall.

Gastritis is the most common disease of the gastrointestinal tract. They affect more than 50% of the adult population. It can be an independent disease, or it can appear as a result of the presence of a more serious disease in the body. Regardless of its origin, gastritis is a serious disease that can lead to complications such as peptic ulcers, or even stomach cancer.

The development of chronic gastritis is mainly caused by such factors as the abuse of spicy, fatty foods, irregular meals, hasty and plentiful meals, too cold or too hot dishes, as well as smoking, alcohol, stressful situations and frequent overwork. In this case, there is discomfort in the epigastric region, nausea, pain, heartburn, and indigestion. In addition, gastritis is usually accompanied by general symptoms such as weakness, loss of appetite, and bad mood.

In acute forms of gastritis, chronic gastritis with increased secretion of gastric juice, as well as exacerbation of chronic diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, diet No. 1 is prescribed, which has the most gentle effect on the gastric mucosa. In chronic gastritis with secretory insufficiency, diet No. 2 is indicated, and in case of recovery, diet No. 15.

What is the purpose of this diet?

Therapeutic nutrition for chronic gastritis is built according to the following requirements:
  • Ensuring good nutrition- in case of violation of the digestive functions of the stomach, it is especially important to provide the body with a sufficient amount of useful substances and trace elements, this will help it restore its strength and prevent the further development of the disease;
  • Fractional diet- meals 4-5 times a day in small portions improve the processes of digestion, as well as the absorption of nutrients, in addition, the stomach is not overloaded with an abundance of food, which gives it the opportunity to digest it better;
  • Mechanical sparing of the gastric mucosa- exclusion from the diet of roughage, as well as adequate culinary processing of products will help to avoid additional damage to the gastric mucosa, and also give it time and the opportunity to recover;
  • Chemical stimulation of the digestive glands- with secretory insufficiency of the stomach, it is necessary to pay special attention to products that irritate the gastric mucosa and contribute to the active work of the digestive glands, this will help improve the processes of digestion and absorption of nutrients.
