Nissan Teana II J32 with mileage: good engines and a defenseless variator. Should I buy Nissan Teana II (J32) in the secondary market? Nissan teana 2 generation restyling

Nissan Teana j32 is a comfortable and respectable sedan of the second generation, which has become a kind of compromise that combines an affordable price and rich equipment. Its characteristics directly depend on it. For example, the type of engine with the Elegance package is V6, and the Luxury Four is L4.

The second generation sedan replaced the Nissan Teana J31. Of course, the Nissan Teana J32 is not designed for off-road driving, but some “sores” are still felt when driving through the city streets. Consider the pros and cons of this car.

Weaknesses Nissan Teana (J32), 2008–2014 release

  • Variable speed drive;
  • Chassis;
  • Poor quality paintwork.

Now more…

One of the weak points of the Nissan Teana ll is considered to be a CVT. Careful operation of the car means regular oil changes in the automatic transmission and, if possible, reducing friction due to driving at high speed. Signs of problems are violations in the operation of the belt, the oil pump pressure reducing valve and the valve body. The likelihood of their occurrence increases with increasing mileage. Slightly less often there is a need to repair the differential and bearings. According to experts, the repair of the variator is a delay in its replacement.

Chassis

While Nissan Teana's front suspension is extremely smooth, it's not very durable. The wheel bearings are the first to fail, then the rear struts and silent blocks require repair. Be sure to note the steering rack, its frequent breakdowns are expressed in streaks or knocks. The cause of the last symptom may be the cross, which is located at the bottom of the steering shaft.

Poor quality paintwork

It manifests itself through sudden defects. You can fix this problem by repainting the car. Often this has to be done at your own expense, since warranty service is sometimes not satisfactory.

The same applies to chrome exterior parts, and they lose their attractive appearance much earlier. By the way, some of them can really be replaced under warranty. To avoid such consequences, you can follow the advice of professionals by using "ceramics" and an anti-corrosion coating in advance. Such measures can stop corrosion for quite a long time.

The main disadvantages of Nissan Tiana 2nd generation

  1. Lack of adjustment of the driver's seat and steering wheel for reach (but there are buttons in the armrest, the function of which is to control the heating of the front seats).
  2. Failures in the multimedia system.
  3. The absence of parking sensors (there is a rear-view camera, the use of which is often difficult due to the rapid occurrence of pollution) and a hydraulic compensator.
  4. Unsatisfactory operation of windows and thermostat.
  5. Low ground clearance.
  6. Rapid wear of the steering wheel trim, seats and selector.
  7. Extraneous noise (the cause may be debris that has fallen into the fan motor, a long lack of lubrication or wear of the air conditioning drive motor).
  8. Short cushion driver's seat.
  9. Insufficient sound insulation of the rear wheel arches.
  10. The possibility of power steering overheating due to the proximity of the high pressure hose to the exhaust manifold.

Output.

Nissan Teana 2nd generation was released in 2008. Compared to previous models, the new car began to look more impressive. This was greatly facilitated by the chrome parts that appeared in the exterior. The operation of the engine and transmission is not satisfactory. Compared to the previous model range, the Nissan Teana j32 has acquired a more rigid structure, which provides a smooth and even movement, improved handling and aerodynamics, a comfortable spacious interior.

In general, despite the shortcomings, the Nissan Tiana deserves the attention of drivers and is rightfully considered one of the most reliable premium cars in the D segment. For longer CVT operation, you should choose models with a 2.5-liter V6 engine and change oil more often. This applies to all-wheel drive models.

Before you buy this car in the secondary market, you should diagnose it. After all, repairing a Nissan Teana is quite expensive, since it is almost impossible to pick up a non-original part to replace a broken one, and original spare parts cost a lot. It is better to prepare in advance for the upcoming repair.

Weaknesses and main disadvantages of Nissan Teana 2 with mileage was last modified: December 12th, 2018 by Administrator

Nissan Teana second generation among its many classmates is considered a great deal. At a relatively low price, it offered a solid appearance, a spacious interior and an excellent level of equipment. In addition, most motorists a priori believe that few can compare with Teana in terms of reliability. But is it really so?

A lot of car for little money - this definition fits the Nissan Teana perfectly. The Japanese performed a miracle, but already from the first kilometers of acquaintance with Teana it becomes clear that when creating this model, they did not forget about savings. In comparison with more expensive classmates, the Japanese sedan does not stand out for the best sound insulation. Teana owners also complain about “crickets” in the cabin. In a word - if you seriously think that the Teana is in no way inferior to similar-sized Audi or Mercedes Benz in terms of comfort, then you will be disappointed.

Strengths and weaknesses of Nissan Tiana with mileage

Nissan has been very proud of the self-adhesive paintwork applied to its vehicles. The first innovation was tested by Teana. In theory, everything looked great. Poured the body with warm water - a small scratch was healed. In practice, things were not so rosy. in itself, it turned out to be too tender and susceptible to external influences, which is why scratches appeared on it actively. If they disappeared, then deep defects could not heal on their own. After a short time, a characteristic red coating appeared on the damaged areas. Not too durable on Teana and numerous body chrome elements. They become cloudy after 3-4 years of operation. Following the chrome, the front optics also become cloudy.

Inside the cabin Nissan Tiana 2

Enough claims to the door locks of the car. In winter they freeze. Luckily, inexpensive silicone grease solves the problem. She should also lubricate the door hinges. Otherwise, when opening and closing the doors, you will have to listen to an unpleasant creak. Inside, there are good quality finishing materials, which look great even after 5-6 years of operation. The age of the car gives out except that the steering wheel and leather seats. No matter how hard you try, and after a run of 100-150 thousand kilometers, they already look shabby.

The engines offered for Nissan Teana 2 - 2.5 and 3.5 liters are reliable. Their resource, if you do not neglect regular maintenance, is estimated at 350-400 thousand kilometers. Both, so you will have to constantly monitor the cleanliness of the radiator of the cooling system. At least once a year, radiators will have to be flushed. The "Nissan" power units are also picky about the quality of the fuel. A couple of gas stations with low-quality gasoline lead to a replacement

Which were installed on a Japanese sedan, reliable. But with a number of reservations. They do not like active driving, long standing in traffic jams, slipping in snow or mud. If such operating conditions are excluded, then the Teana stepless gearboxes will withstand 200-250 thousand kilometers. Jerks and shocks during the operation of the transmission should immediately alert. First of all, you will have to change the oil in the box and the oil filter of the variator itself. If it does not help, then you should prepare for the worst. Repair, and even more so a complete replacement of the variator, will be expensive. Do not forget about replacing the variator belt. This will have to be done after a run of 150 thousand kilometers.

Used Nissan Teana is reliable, but requires attention from time to time. Every 30-40 thousand kilometers will require replacement, every 60-70 thousand kilometers - tie rod ends. Wheel bearings on Teana can withstand about 80 thousand kilometers. Since they change in tandem with the hub, the price for them is high. The mark of 100 thousand kilometers will be marked by the replacement of shock absorbers. Again, if you install original parts, they are not cheap.

Despite the generally high reliability, the Nissan Teana has enough sores. But buyers of the Japanese sedan are of little concern. Indeed, in the case of Teana 2, you get a lot of car for relatively little money. In addition, if you take a responsible approach to car maintenance, Teana will serve you for many years without fail.

Video: Choosing a used car Nissan Teana 2 (budget 800-900tr)

I decided to write such an offtopic.
I know from my own experience that it is usually not so easy to find a detailed description of the car, so that it would immediately become clear to buy or not to buy, and if you buy which one and what to look at. Besides, I'm a longtime Nissan killer. Before Teana (which I have had for 2 years) I had a 1999 Nissan Maxima QX 3.0 (like in its maximum configuration).

instead of an introduction. What are they.
The second Teana began to be made in 2008 and at the beginning they were supplied from Japan. In 2010, they launched a release near St. Petersburg. A little later (I suppose that somewhere in the same 2010 or maybe in 2011) she was restyled: the car was slightly raised, the head optics were replaced (it became a searchlight) and rear lights (they appeared "white" stripes instead of red ones) .
Teanas are equipped with three engines:
- V6 2.5 of the wonderful VQ series (182 hp)
- V6 3.5 of the same series (249 hp)
- inline four 2.5 from X-Trail (167 hp) on the all-wheel drive version
All Teanas have a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT).

Complete set
In the initial period of time (I think that at least before the transfer of production to St. Petersburg), the configurations were as follows:
- Elegance
- Elegance+
- Luxury
- luxury+
- Premium
nameplate on the stern says little about the configuration, but nevertheless the rule is: XE- this elegance(initial), XL - Elegance+, but XV- that's all the rest and Luxury and Premium).
In this case, the equipment also somewhat depends on the engine. And for the 3.5 engine, only three upper trim levels are available (Luxury, Luxury + and Premium).
Roughly speaking, the car is in the initial configuration ( elegance) - these are steel wheels, a monochrome display in the center of the torpedo, "rag" seats without electric drives.
At the same time, already in this initial configuration, the car will have a lot of goodies: keyless go (or chip key or Intelegent Key), engine start from the button, 4 airbags, heated mirrors and folding from the button, headlight washers, LED rear lights, full-size spare wheel , 2-zone climate control, all 4 power windows, cruise control, heated front seats ... I did not mention a number of "goodies" that MUST be on a car of this class (type, business class) for a long time: GUR, ABS, etc...
Second level of equipment Elegance+ includes a leather interior, power driver and front passenger seats, 16-inch alloy wheels, for all-wheel drive vehicles, ESP (stabilization system) and 17-inch alloy wheels.
Third level Luxury adds to the above: stabilization system (ESP), video signal input, color display with rear view camera (with trajectory drawing), 17-inch alloy wheels, bi-xenon headlights.
luxury+ adds a Bose audio system (sounds pretty good to my unassuming taste!).
Premium additionally flaunts 4 additional airbags (so-called curtains), ventilation and heating of all seats, driver's seat memory (2 positions), "ottoman" for the front passenger, climate with air ionization and automatic recirculation, DVD player, touch screen with navigation.
As I said above cars with 3.5 engine have somewhat richer equipment. Starting from configuration luxury+ a panoramic roof is added, a Bose audio system and ventilation of all seats with driver's seat memory are installed on all 3.5 cars.

Which of the following is really necessary and useful?
I have 3.5 Luxury +. This means that in the car there is, perhaps, only navigation and air ionization in the climate. So about the need for navigation and ionization, I will only say that my friend, who has 2.5 premium, seems to use this. I don't see much harm from absence. Navigation (and I'm sure that the functionality is much more convenient than native Nissan) is now available in any smartphone.
Keyless Go- a handy thing! This means that you simply put the smart key in your pocket and forget about it. Approaching the car, you simply press the button on the door and it opens. Just get in the cabin and press the "Start" button - the engine starts. Approach the trunk and by pressing the button on its lid (it gets dirty, of course, but I won’t say that it’s much, in short, it’s not a problem at all) open it. At the same time, if you move away from the door or trunk with the key, then they, accordingly, will not open. Another useful feature - you can easily lock the running car: you just get out of the running car, close the door and press the button on the door. That's all: the car stops and cools / heats the interior, and you go to drink morning coffee :) I also note that this system will not allow you to accidentally lock the keys in the car. NO WAY! You don’t have to look for a special car with Keyless Go. As I said above, this feature is "in the database".
Rear View Camera- a thing that is certainly convenient, you can park in very narrow places half as often leaving the car to "see how much is left there", you can move in reverse more safely. But I would not call it fundamental, because you can use parktronics on a collective farm. The camera does get dirty in muddy weather. But this is by no means a problem. I have cotton gloves in the driver's door: I go out and wipe her eye and that's it. It takes quite a long time to wipe. And in clear weather, it does not get dirty for months.
Seat ventilation- a very, very good thing! Try to find a car with her. At least in the front seats. I had a car with a leather interior, air conditioning and no ventilation (Nissan Maxima QX 3.0). I will tell you that even with a normally working air conditioner, your back will still sweat! Ventilation is a very nice thing!
Power seats- a thing, certainly convenient, but of course not fundamental. Particularly useful in combination with seat memory if not only you will drive the car.
bose I don't consider myself a music lover or an audiophile. I like the sound of the audio system in general. Can't be compared with normal.
Xenon- they say that good halogens do not shine much worse than xenon.
ESP (stabilization system)- sometimes her work is felt. But I don’t drive extremely, and I didn’t compare it with the work of ESP on other cars. Personally, it seems to me that ESP on Teana is rather simple, because it works, according to my feelings, rather rudely. I'm judging this from what I've read in car magazines about how ESP works on premium cars like the Audi A6.
Attamanca- mostly a toy (to surprise girls), but if you suddenly have to sleep in the car, it will be more comfortable.
Panoramic roof- I personally really like it. I must say right away that the roof opens only a little, getting into it with your whole body as you can on the X-Trail will not work. They say that cars with a sunroof have a lower ceiling level and tall drivers will be more cramped than in a car without it.

What's good about Teana? Why can you love her?
Teana - large, quite powerful (especially in version 3.5), comfortable, well-equipped and reliable car. They are not particularly stolen, insurance for it costs sane money. Even the 3.5 version has a sub-threshold power of 249 hp. leaving the tax within reasonable limits (hello Audi A6 3.2 with 255 hp!).
Variable speed drive- a godsend for calm drivers.
Like equipment level far from all premium Germans offer it (this is generally a feature of Japanese cars). For example, try to find an Audi A6 that is close in terms of equipment, I think you will run into a problem.
3.5 real bullets. According to the passport, 7.2 seconds to 100 mph, somewhere in the video I even came across 6.8. Easy to pick up at any speed.
VQ series engine very reliable, quiet and unpretentious. I read a lot about it (for example, this engine was recognized as the engine of the year in the USA, which are known for their poor service and disregard for maintenance, hello BMW!). I can confirm all this with my 6 years of experience in operating machines with this type of engine (3.0 on Maxima and 3.5 on Teana).
Appearance I personally still like it, although auto journalists in one of the last articles called it either boring or archaic. I agree, there are a lot of cars now that look more interesting. But Teana still retained its relevance for my taste.
Maintenance cost makes me personally happy. And it is especially pleasing that it practically does not require unscheduled repairs. For all 2 years, I had to replace the left front hub, the battery, and the radio tape recorder composted the brain a little (more on this below). I also had to clean the radiators 1 time (they clogged with fluff).
Fuel consumption very, very humane. If you drive on a flat road with a flat, not too high speed (I checked at 90 km / h on cruise control), then you can easily fit into 8 liters (during the experiment I had 6.9 l / 100 km at all). In real city traffic, the consumption does not rise above 16 liters. My average is 14.4. But I drive a lot in traffic jams and often stand for a long time with the engine running. If you say that's a lot, then I'll send you to car magazines, see how much turbo bugs like the VW Golf 1.4 TSI really spend. Smaller, of course, but I would not say that it is essential. All the same, few people fit into 10 l / 100 km. If consumption is fundamental to you, perhaps look for a diesel (but get ready for more expensive maintenance). In general, for such a class and such an engine, I think that this is more than acceptable.

What, then, is bad in Teana?
Do you think I will only praise? But no! :)
First of all, it's budget business class. Interior materials cannot be said to be of super high quality, especially for wooden inserts. The leather on the chairs is quite delicate and often becomes unpresentable after 1-2 years of operation (what's the point of 1-2 years, I read about several months on the forums!). Especially bad is the case with fair skin: it, of course, looks gorgeous while it is in good condition, but it quickly rubs off and loses all attractiveness. I came across such examples :(
Paintwork scratches easily almost with a fingernail, the chrome elements fade, the paint on the hood is chipped and the hood starts to rust (I have a hood in a film, so I have not felt this problem yet).
The car is far from racing! If you start driving on it in the "ring" mode, then you will quickly feel that with all its essence it will ask you not to do this :) And the brakes and suspension and transmission do not like active driving. For example, after a sharp (emergency) braking, either the engine or the variator starts to slow down. It seems like such a protection, but personally I think that this is not very good. Also, the electronic speed limit at 210 km / h suggests that the chassis there does not reach the good Germans.
low ground clearance. Yes, I will upset you - this is true. If in Moscow this is not particularly felt (although it is still felt!), Then with suburban or regional operation this may force you to collective farm spacers or change springs. For example, I have to carefully drive through tall speed bumps, because a swinging car can catch it with its belly.
Oddities in the configuration. I said above that the car is well equipped and it really is. But why then did the developers omit such trifles as a rain sensor, steering column adjustment for reach, a glass washer fluid level sensor ...
Ergonomic miscalculations. Alas, there are also them: the most famous is the location of the buttons for turning on the ventilation and heating of the front seats in the armrest. In general, I'm used to it and already do it blindly, but of course it's not convenient. I also think that the “knife” is not convenient (Teana’s parking brake is turned on by the pedal to the left of the service brake), I probably don’t have to use it often (or rather, I used it only when I got a technical inspection - there is a P mode!), But all- handbrake or button is more convenient.
Delicate CD drive. Maybe this is my private problem, but I read about similar problems on the forums. The radio tape recorder may refuse to accept or give away CDR blanks. In Nissan on Taganka, I was told that this is not a warranty case, because you should only feed it with branded disks :)

So to take or not to take?
If you prioritize comfort, space in the cabin, equipment for not too much money - this car is definitely for you!
If you like to squeak tires, Teana may disappoint you. Shoot in a straight line - please (even even acceleration may seem boring, although it is very, very fast).

How to choose?
For your peace of mind, I would certainly recommend looking for a car that still under warranty(thanks to Nissan, the warranty on them is 3 years). But even after the guarantee, I am sure that a car that is not too dead will please you for a long time.
I'd NOT recommended buy used car in the showroom. The main thing is that they are unlikely to let you check the car in a third-party service (they simply don’t need it, they will buy it from them anyway), also keep in mind that this is a business and salons also need to earn money, so potentially there are 50 thousand will be more expensive.
One. If you liked the car on the ad - call and find out something like the following: is he the owner (in order to dismiss the sellers / outbids), is everything in order with the documents (but this does not mean that they do not need to be checked later, it just allows you to dismiss obviously problematic options, and maybe theft and loan car ...), ask to talk about the problems of the car. If the answers to the questions do not alert you and there is prior trust, you can try to arrange a meeting to view the car. I don't recommend trading over the phone. It is best to bargain after diagnosing the car in the service. At the meeting, ask the owner to take the documents for the car with you, including the title. Also, do not be afraid of cars already deregistered - this in itself is normal.
Two. When you see the car yourself, you need to first check what will not be checked in the service:
- worn interior(literally, every chair, every glove box and lid)
- complete set: there should be an instruction in Russian, a service book, two chip keys, a spare wheel with a repair kit (jack, wheel wrench), an emergency stop sign, a fire extinguisher, a pump in the trunk ...
- the documents: check the TCP, see who, when and how much owned this car, if the last owner sells the car after several months of ownership - this should alert (although anything can happen in life, you need money, you move abroad ...), a diagnostic card (this A4 paper, which is now issued during technical inspection), scroll through the service book for what, when and where it was serviced. Keep in mind that MOT 60000, for example, MAY be done with less mileage. This is not because the mileage was twisted, but because maintenance is done not only by mileage, but also at least once a year (or even six months, I don’t remember exactly).
- the operation of the electrical equipment of the cabin: the sunroof opens and closes, the seats move, the windows open and close, the ventilation of the seats works (it is slightly audible), that the radio plays, receives and gives out discs, if you still don’t know how something works, ask make it the owner. This is all very important, because the service usually does not check this. But by the way, it rarely fails. Nissan electrics are good and reliable.
- carefully inspect the body (do I need to say that the car should be washed?), Slowly and unhurriedly walk around the car looking along the body (with such a look, the dents are especially noticeable)
- it is desirable, of course, to look at what they will then check in the service: look under the hood and listen to the engine (it should work very quietly and smoothly), see that all the headlights are on, the turn signals work, the distant one works
Three. Be sure to ask ride you "with a breeze" of the owner (it's not worth it yourself - you never know!) and be sure ride yourself behind the wheel. The car should accelerate smoothly and also brake smoothly. Any knocks and jerks should be very alert - this should not be so!
Four. In no case don't jump on the first car you see, especially if you had a car of a different class or a very different state before. There is a high probability that the car will seem simply fabulous to you and in euphoria you will buy far from the best copy. Even if a good option leaves, there will be others, but you will already know exactly what is in the car and how it should work, and you will no longer be deceived that, they say, it should be so ...
Five. if everything suits you or suits you with a reservation for bargaining, you can already bargain. You may well say that "you see such and such a reasonable price for yourself." At the same time, it is advisable to back up the bargaining with arguments like “it’s not like this here and it’s not like that,” otherwise it turns out that you came to see the car, knowing that its price is, say, 800 thousand, you liked everything, but you still ask for a discount. The seller can then reasonably ask you "what didn't suit you?". Personally, I might even be offended if my time was wasted. In any case, keep in mind that the seller is unlikely to throw off more than 7% somewhere. Even if he hides some serious problems. Rather, he will look for someone who will not notice it.
Six. Now is the time to agree on diagnostics in the service. I believe that this is a very important point, because you will almost certainly "beat off" the cost of diagnostics in the subsequent auction. For a reason for bargaining is likely to appear. If you decide not to buy a car after that, this is also a big plus, because otherwise you would have spent a lot of money and nerves on unforeseen repairs. In the place of the seller, it is quite reasonable to agree only to diagnostics in a company service. But if you have another in mind, of course try to offer it. It is important that the service check the main components and assemblies (with reading codes), the levels and condition of lubricating fluids (you should especially pay attention to variator and to its liquid!), traces of impacts, the condition of the suspension and running gear, fluid leaks from the units ... As a rule, everything becomes clear after lifting the car on a lift.
Seven. Bargain. For bargaining, you will probably have the following reasons: tarnished chrome on the body, chips or even rust on the front edge of the hood, also look at the wiper leashes (there is a high probability of corrosion on them), chips and scratches on the rims (even with careful operation, they are likely to appear ). If during the diagnostics something is revealed, also feel free to "show" it to the seller for bargaining.

Another good move is to leave the seller with thoughts after the diagnosis, saying "I need to think, I'll call you tomorrow" (well, or you can say, for example, "in the evening"). The car is unlikely to leave so quickly, and the seller will spiritually struggle with the toad all this time and by the time you call, he will already be "warm".
During the conversation, offer your price, just be sure to justify it. Like, I’m ready to buy your car, but I see the price for such and such and such and such ... No need to put pressure on the fact that he deceived you there, otherwise it will be morally easier for him to refuse to cooperate with you (after all you still have the procedure of transferring money and registration of PrEP, who wants to listen to whining and insults?).

That's the whole story!
I would be grateful for comments (I will discuss with pleasure), likes and reposts: it’s not difficult for you, but I’m pleased :)

Motorists were able to see the second generation Nissan Tiana on the Nissan podium at the Beijing Auto Show in April 2008. The novelty inherits the image of the Nissan Intima concept car. Already in May of the same 2008, sales of the new Nissan Teana J32 started in Japan and Russia. As part of the review, we will try to evaluate all the positive changes that Japanese designers and engineers have made to their offspring.

The appearance of the second generation Nissan Teana echoes its predecessor Teana J31, but Nissan designers managed to rid the novelty of the heaviness and stiffness inherent in the appearance of the first generation model. The front triangular headlights, with their sharp corners directed towards the center, tend to merge with a neat false radiator grille with horizontal chrome strips, and in the opposite direction go sharply to the front fenders.

The front bumper with a lower air duct, foglight rounds and stylish chrome moldings looks light and airy. The profile of the second Nissan Tiana in general terms repeats the image of the previous generation, the same large wheel arches (wheels from 205/65 R16 to 215/55 R17) and doorways, large side windows, a familiar sloping roof line, an abundance of chrome elements. According to the requirements of the time, repeaters of turns appeared in the side mirrors.

The back of the Nissan Teana J32 is monumental. Lighting fixtures with LED lamps fit beautifully and harmoniously into the stern. The rear embossed bumper with chrome moldings looks light and sporty. The large trunk lid looks lean. From any angle, the 2nd generation Nissan Teana is handsome, fresh and sporty. At the same time, the car looks expensive and evokes the idea of a close relationship with Infiniti.
The overall dimensions of the new Nissan Tiana have slightly increased and now they are 4850 mm long, 1795 mm wide, 1495 mm high, the wheelbase has remained the same - 2775 mm. Increased ground clearance up to 150 mm. It would seem that an increase of 15 mm compared to the first generation of Tiana is insignificant, but body and suspension elements will suffer less on our roads (by the way, protection of components and assemblies has appeared in some places). And later, the Nissan Teana J32 received an All Mode 4 × 4 all-wheel drive system - Nissan Teana J32 4WD. The torsional and bending rigidity of the body has increased, and the already excellent noise and sound insulation of the cabin of the new Teana has improved.

Inside, the 2nd generation Nissan Teana has become truly luxurious. The interior of the second-generation Tiana is completely new, from the front dashboard with smooth lines and curves, the Fine Vision dashboard, climate control units and Infinity-style multimedia system, to the seats and door cards.
Filling the cabin is worth it to consider it in as much detail as possible. A laconic dashboard with wooden inserts, on the center console there are: a 7-inch display (monochrome in the base, depending on the price increase, a color VGA or Touch Screen), music from a simple CD MP3 RDS with six speakers to an advanced Bose 5.1 Digital Surround with 11 speakers and a 9.3 GB music server, DVD, Nissan Connect Premium navigator (Russian maps) and a rear view camera, dual-zone climate control. Stylish steering wheel - with a combined finish (wood and leather) and an archaic steering column adjustment only in height, the instruments are informative and readable. The front seats give a royal level of comfort, especially in the top configuration (electric drive with position memory, heating, ventilation, massage), and the passenger seat also has an Ottoman seat footrest.
Passengers in the second row are given no less attention, there is enough space in all directions. At the back there are air ducts, heated and ventilated seats (music and climate control in the armrest of the second row - in the expensive Premium configuration). Seat trim velor and, of course, leather of various colors.
The presence of light and rain sensors, electric and heated mirrors, cruise control, power windows, keyless entry and engine start with a button are taken for granted. The selection of materials, the level of assembly and equipment of the new Nissan Teana J32 correspond to the premium segment of the European business class. The trunk volume of the second generation Nissan Tiana has increased in comparison with the luggage compartment of the Teana J31 and is 488 liters, there is a hatch for long loads in the back of the rear seats.

Specifications- for the second generation Nissan Teana, only six-cylinder gasoline engines are now available - VQ25DE V6 2.5 (182 hp) and VQ35DE V6 3.5 (249 hp), paired with an Xtronic-CVT stepless variator. The older V6 3.5 is practically a copy of the engine installed on the Nissan 350Z sports coupe. Front suspension independent with MacPherson struts, rear independent multi-link. Front and rear disc brakes with ABS and EBD, as well as Brake Assist (brake assist) are available as standard, ESP (exchange stability) and TSC (traction control) systems are present in more expensive versions of the Nissan Teana J32. The power steering is electro-hydraulic with variable effort (the force depends on the speed).

Test Drive demonstrates the result of the technical filling of the second generation Nissan Teana - its comfortable driving characteristics. The company's engineers changed the characteristics of the suspension, the car began to roll even less in corners, and its behavior became even more predictable, information content on the steering wheel was added. At the same time, Nissan Tiana has not lost its signature softness and complete indifference to poor quality road surfaces. Nissan Teana J32, like its predecessor J31, treats its passengers with care and is able to give them a lot of positive emotions from the trip.
Both motors willingly consume 92nd gasoline. Tandem V6 2.5 (182 hp) with a CVT will suit an economical driver, the average fuel consumption is 9-10 liters. Dynamics to "hundreds" - 9.6 seconds, at a maximum speed of 200 km / h. The motor has enough power, the engine imperceptibly accelerates the car through the variator and at the same time there is almost absolute silence in the cabin.
Sports inclinations V6 3.5 (249 hp) are rushing out, as if the engine wants to work at high speeds all the time, provoking the driver to violate the speed limit. When accelerating to the first “hundred” in 7.2 seconds, the growl of the engine strains, the “maximum speed” reaches 210 km / h (electronically limited), the average fuel consumption declared by the manufacturer is 10.5-11 liters (in real conditions 13-14 liters).

Options and prices. In the Russian market Nissan Teana J32 in 2012 is offered in nine trim levels. For Russian motorists, the second generation Nissan Teana (J32) is produced in St. Petersburg.

The article presents an overview of the second generation Nissan Teana J32 business class sedan (2008-2014). Issues of configurations, characteristics, performance are touched upon, a separate subsection is devoted to owner reviews.

Since the 2nd generation Nissan Teana in the J32 body has not been collected in Russia since 2015, the article will be especially useful for those who want to purchase this car in the secondary market.

Nissan Teana - how many generations are there?

The Nissan Teana model has been produced by the Japanese concern since 2003; in some automotive markets, this brand is known under the Maxima, Cefiro or Altima brands.

As of 2016, a total of three generations have been produced, the bodies have been assigned the indices J31, J32 and L33.

The name for a premium car is associated with the area, the name Teana in Italy is a small village.

Nissan Teana second generation

The Nissan Teana J32 is based on the Nissan D platform, the main production years of the 2nd generation are 2008-2014.

The car was assembled in such countries as:

  • China;
  • India;
  • Angola;
  • Japan;
  • Thailand;
  • Malaysia;
  • Iran;
  • Russia (since summer 2009).

In India and Taiwan, cars are still being produced, for economic reasons, Teana production in St. Petersburg was curtailed in the fall of 2015.

But on the roads of Russia, such a car can often be found, and in the secondary market the car is in deserved demand.

Nissan Teana J32 is a comfortable large D-class sedan, in the cabin of which five passengers are freely accommodated.

There are not only front-wheel drive versions, but also 4x4 cars, but diesel engines are not provided in the model range, only gasoline engines are present.

Of the gearboxes, only a continuously variable variator is available, but another transmission is not needed here, the gearbox copes well with the tasks.

Teana-2 is a purely urban “resident”, it is unlikely to pass along bumpy country roads due to low ground clearance.

Soft suspension and rich equipment make the car very comfortable, and passengers enjoy a trip in a premium car.

Engines

The Russian-assembled Teana-2 model is equipped with three types of engines - V6 2.5 and 3.5 liter gasoline power units, as well as a 2.5-liter gasoline “four”.

A four-cylinder MR20DE 2.0 l engine is also available for the Chinese market, but a car with such an internal combustion engine was not delivered to Russia.

The most common Nissan Teana engine is a 6-cylinder V-shaped power unit 2.5 with a capacity of 182 hp. from. models VQ25DE. This ICE is only on cars with front wheel drive.

Another fairly popular engine with the same volume is the 4-cylinder QR25DE, its power is 167 horsepower, and it was installed on Russian and Japanese 4x4 Teana Four cars.

And the most powerful power unit is the VQ35DE six-cylinder engine with 248 hp. from. 3.5 l, it is present in the 4x2 version.

Transmission

In any configuration of a flagship car, only a continuously variable CVT transmission is installed, and this type of gearbox has a number of undeniable advantages:

  • the driver does not need to be distracted by gear shifting; when accelerating with such a box, the car picks up speed smoothly, without jumps and jerks;
  • the dynamics with are very good, and here the variator has a clear advantage over other types of gearboxes;
  • the continuously variable transmission does not create unnecessary noise, while the engine runs in a fairly economical mode.

CVT also has a big minus - the Nissan Teana variator is not very reliable, even with the most careful operation, its resource does not exceed 170 thousand kilometers.

But the gearbox usually fails earlier, and when repairs may be needed depends on the operating conditions.

Quite often, it is necessary to repair the Teana box on the first “lap”, in some cases, breakdowns occur even at 30-50 thousand kilometers.

Salon and trunk

Externally, the Nissan Teana interior resembles the interior of Infiniti, but this is not surprising - the Nissan and Infiniti brands are produced by the same company.

Fabric upholstery on the seats is available only on a car in the simplest basic configuration of Elegance 2WD, in all other versions a leather interior is provided.

The instrument panel, console and door trim are decorated with wooden inserts, the steering wheel is sheathed in leather, and in general, high-quality expensive materials are used.

The richness of the interior is the hallmark of Nissan's flagship cars, and this is the brand's advantage over competitors.

Starting the engine on Teane J32 is carried out by a button, a driver's seat with an electric drive, there is a seat position memory function (2 settings).

In the interior of the car, everything is thought out to the smallest detail:

  • a comfortable seat allows the driver not to get tired behind the wheel for many hours;
  • the control element is ergonomic, all buttons and handles are in their places;
  • the dashboard is informative, and the soft backlight allows you to read all the information from the devices without stress.

Sitting on the back seat, the 1.8 m tall passenger has ample headroom and front knee room in front of the front seat.

The armrest at the back is not easy, it is a real multifunctional device and is equipped with:

  • two coasters;
  • buttons for ventilation and seat heating;
  • audio control panel;
  • rear curtain control buttons.

There is more than enough space for the front passenger.

The trunk lid on the sedan opens from the passenger compartment, on the driver's side, the volume of the luggage compartment is declared by the manufacturer to be 488 liters.

Inside, the trunk is trimmed with pile material, the interior space for transporting goods does not stand out in anything special.
