Even more entertainment awaits the guests of the holiday on the site in front of the Moskva Hotel (the intersection of Okhotny Ryad and Mokhovaya streets from Tverskaya).

For the first time in the capital, on the City Day, it will be possible to see a show in a motoball - a large mesh sphere, inside which professional motorcyclists will show their tricks at high speed.

On the same site, an “air trapezoid” will be installed, a metal crossbar attached to long cables. Here, in the "Flying Show", there will be performances by professional athletes, who will also hold master classes for the guests of the holiday.

There will also be a "skateboard bowl", a special structure with upward curved edges that looks like an outdoor pool. This facility, designed for performances by professional skateboarders, will also be available for free skating.

For jumping on BMX bikes, mountain bikes and scooters, a special springboard 9 meters high was built. Here you can see demonstration performances and competitions among amateurs and professionals. Shows and competitions are also planned at the Skate Park, a special structure designed for scooter jumping.

For the first time, on the Day of the City of Moscow, everyone will be able to become an expert in the club “What? Where? When?". Four teams will take part in this game at once.

The presenter, in the role of which one of the well-known experts of this club will act, will offer the players a question. After a minute of discussion, each team writes down the answer to the question on a special form, which is given to the facilitator.

For a correct answer, the team will receive one point. 12 questions will be asked. The team with the most correct answers will be the winner. To participate in this game, you must first register.

VDNKh will become the main playground for the City Day in Moscow 2017. In total, six entertainment zones dedicated to the main themes of the City Day will be created on the main street of the holiday: “Moscow Conquers”, “Moscow Builds”, “Moscow Invents”, “Moscow Opens”, “Moscow Creates” and “Moscow Sets Records”.

The space of the street from Kozitsky Lane to Maly Gnezdnikovsky will be filled with space scenery. Guests of the festival will be able to see models of the Vostok-1 spacecraft and the Salyut-7 orbital space station. Through special windows inside the station, you can see the instrument panel, living quarters and an astronaut in an orbital suit.

Part of Tverskaya from Maly Gnezdnikovsky to Voznesensky lane will be turned into a street of sights and architectural monuments. Art objects will be installed there in the form of all the Stalinist skyscrapers of Moscow, the buildings of the Riga and Yaroslavl railway stations, a model of the Shukhov tower, the Melnikov house and the sculpture “Worker and Collective Farm Girl”. An experimental construction site will open for children, where they will learn how to operate a crane and an excavator and feel like real city builders. Nearby, guests can see a model of the Crimean bridge, 15 meters long and five meters high. A real rope town will be made on its copy, where you can test your dexterity. A real scientific cluster will open between Voznesensky and Stoleshnikov lanes. There it will be possible to find out how time flows and the days and months of the year change - this will be shown by a two-meter mechanical model of a calendar with an open mechanism. Those who are interested not in man-made mechanisms, but in the exact systems that nature creates, will be curious to look at transparent panels on which you can see the circulatory system and the human skeleton.

Between Stoleshnikov and Bryusov lanes, a platform dedicated to scientists and researchers who lived and worked in Moscow will be made.

By the Day of the City, a ten-meter climbing wall in the form of Moscow City towers will be built on this site. On-site instructors will provide visitors with the necessary equipment and will conduct free climbing master classes.

For fans of strength training and outdoor activities, a huge Parkour Park with a total area of about two thousand square meters will be built. Nearby will be placed a zone for hand-to-hand combat and a boxing ring.

The second sports ground will appear on the site from Nikitsky Lane to the intersection of Tverskaya and Mokhovaya streets. On it, festival guests will be able to work out on simulators for the development of coordination, jump on trampolines and watch extreme cycling performances in the freestyle park.

And on Okhotny Ryad, from Mokhovaya Street to Teatralny Proyezd, it will be possible to play volleyball and football on the sand, practice fencing and ride hoverboards. There will also be demonstration performances by teams of cheerleaders and dancers of acrobatic rock and roll and break dance. The street will be decorated with a three-meter Olympic torch and a sculpture "Sport" with figures of a weightlifter, gymnast, biathlete. There will also be a large stage for concerts. By the 870th anniversary, Moscow will be decorated in a single corporate style. The concept was based on original textile ornaments created by Soviet artists Lyubov Popova and Varvara Stepanova in 1923-1924. In their work on ornaments, they were guided by the works of Russian avant-garde and constructivists who had won world fame.

The parks have also prepared a rich program for the celebration of the City Day. Visitors will see the fashion shows of the capital's designers, enjoy the performances of European and Russian opera singers, plunge into the atmosphere of the 1960s and 1970s, and watch their favorite films about the capital.

50 free tours prepared for Muscovites for City Day

For the 870th anniversary of the capital, 50 educational excursions along iconic routes have been prepared for Muscovites and guests of the city. They will be held daily from August 12 to September 10. Anyone can join the free walks lasting one and a half to two hours.
