On May 9, the country will celebrate the 74th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War Patriotic War. According to tradition, this day will end with festive fireworks. In St. Petersburg, artillery salvoes will be fired from the guns located near the walls of the Peter and Paul Fortress. Starts at 22:00. Where to watch fireworks in St. Petersburg with children so that they can be clearly seen and without fear of a crush? Littlevan has prepared a list of such places.

Public spaces

1. Pirogovskaya embankment.

You need a small section of this embankment, between Sampsonevsky and Liteiny bridges. It is good because the festive fireworks are clearly visible, and much fewer people gather here than on the Palace or Kronverkskaya embankments. If you are driving, focus on the St. Petersburg Hotel (Pirogovskaya embankment, 5/2).

Parking: Finlyandsky Avenue, Bolshoy Sampsonyevsky Avenue.

Nearest metro:“Lenin Square”, 10 minutes walk.

2. Field of Mars.

The great advantage of this place is that it is just a minute’s walk from the crowded Trinity Bridge and Palace Embankment. Spectators will also gather here, but there will not be so many of them, and the fireworks will be visible as clearly as from the water.

Palace Embankment is traditionally one of the most popular areas. Always gathers here a large number of people, so it’s better to take a place in advance and immediately think about your escape routes. But the fireworks are clearly visible from here. If you want less crowded company, take a closer look at the English, University and Kronverkskaya embankments.

Spit of Vasilyevsky Island 0+

Exchange Square is decorated festively for the New Year, so waiting for fireworks here is a pleasure. If you don’t like watching the fireworks from the ground level, then you should climb the steps of the Exchange or, conversely, go down to the water. Just don’t go out on the ice, it’s dangerous.

Palace Bridge

Another great location with a good view is the bridges. The closest places to the event are Dvortsovy, Birzhevoy and Troitsky, and it’s also convenient to get here from the festive site near the Hermitage. Blagoveshchensky, Tuchkov and Liteiny bridges are located a little far from the Peter and Paul Fortress, but the pyrotechnic show from them can be seen in all details.

Anyone who is unlucky enough to live in one of the high-rise buildings is probably familiar with the annual fireworks story - only reflections are visible from the balcony, and there are crowds of people on the bridges and embankments. We chose places where you can come with children - and the views are excellent, and they definitely won’t be trampled, and in some places you can even eat ice cream.

Observation deck of the Russian Academy of Sciences

Chamber platform at the foot of the Academy of Sciences building on Leninsky Prospekt. Few people know about her - usually here, while admiring the sunset, they hug local residents. From here you cannot see the whole of Moscow, in this sense the site is inferior to the Sparrow Hills, but here a completely unfamiliar view of the city opens up. If this is not enough for you, go up to the top floors of the Russian Academy of Sciences, there is a SkyLounge with a panoramic view of the city, but also with exorbitant prices.

Sparrow Hills

An important place for the history of Moscow, one of the seven city hills, located on the right bank of the river. During the fireworks there is a crowd here, but if you are lucky enough to arrive early and take a place right above the cliff, you will be able to see the Moscow River, high-rise buildings, and Ostankino Tower. The fireworks here are one of the most spectacular in the city. We advise you to plan your day in such a way as to arrive at Sparrow Hills three hours before the fireworks, walk along the ecological trails of the park and study all the birds and mice.

Central children's store on Lubyanka

Seventh floor Children's world. It’s not high here, but you can see the sky, the roofs, and the people, and the city turns into a detailed model, which cannot be achieved, for example, on Sparrow Hills. From here you can partially see the Kremlin, Pashkov House, Polytechnical Institute, which is now in the forests, Shukhov Tower. The site is equipped with binoculars, but there are always terrible queues for them.

Every day, from 10:00 to 22:00

Museum-observation Moscow City

You will have to climb to the 56th floor of the Empire Tower. They just don’t let you in there, you have to to buy tickets. It's worth it, because the view of Moscow from 215 meters is a rare pleasure. Sometimes you can't see much due to the clouds, but it's still a great attraction. The Cathedral of Christ the Savior, Moscow State University and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with “Ukraine” are clearly visible.

A table by the window should be reserved several days in advance. The cheapest dessert is a scoop of ice cream for 190 rubles, the most expensive is mille-feuille with berries for 750.

The tenth floor of the bar of the Ararat Park Hayatt hotel, on Neglinnaya. Grand Theatre, the Kremlin and Red Square are in full view, fireworks before your eyes. O2 Lounge

One of the most expensive and pompous restaurants in the city, on the veranda of which Hollywood film actors usually take photographs. If all this doesn’t scare you, then be sure to come here to watch the fireworks.
