What kind of smartphone is le 2. Communication between devices in mobile networks is carried out through technologies that provide different data rates

Introducing the LeEco Le 2 in Gray with 32GB of internal memory.

LeEco Le 2 is a powerful and stylish smartphone at an attractive price from one of the largest and fastest growing holdings in China LeEco, for which product quality is not in the last place.

Features of LeEco Le 2

The first thing that catches your eye is the incredible design for a smartphone in this price range. Perhaps the top flagships can be envied. The device with a huge beautiful screen and a durable metal super-thin (only 7.5 mm) body looks very elegant. Due to the beveled corners at the ends of the Le 2 and the relatively small size, the smartphone is not only ergonomic, but also conveniently operated with one hand. At the back, under the main camera module, there is a "smart" fingerprint scanner, which looks like a mirror, thanks to its coating. It can tell the difference if you're trying to unlock your device or just taking a selfie. The phone has technical stuffing at the level of the flagships of 2015, which allows you to work with Android Marshmallow in the EUI 5.8 shell with comfort without "brakes".

Display

One of the main controls of Le 2 is a 5.5 "touchscreen display with a pixel density of 403. It has good brightness and a high-quality oleophobic (grease-repellent) coating. The sensitive screen complements the pleasant sensation when working with the gadget. A clear colorful natural picture allows you to enjoy games as well as when watching videos and photos.

Main and front cameras LeEco Le 2 32Gb LTE Dual sim Gray

The main camera in Le 2 (X527) is a 16 megapixel module with an F / 2.0 aperture and a pixel size increased to 1.4 microns and an 8 megapixel front camera. According to the manufacturer, the rear camera is capable of taking high-quality images with a maximum resolution of 4608 × 3456 even in low light conditions. It also allows you to shoot Full HD video at 30 fps and slow-motion HD video at 120 frames per second.

LeEco Le 2 Audio Play

In its device, LeEco abandoned the 3.5 mm jack and the ability to connect headphones remained only via USB Type C. By the way, through it, you can also charge a 3000 mAh battery in 90 minutes. CDLA technology is used to play sound through headphones with a USB Type C connector. This technology allows lossless transmission of audio signals from a smartphone to a headset. Le 2 boasts a loud sound without wheezing, even at maximum volume. For music lovers, the standard audio player provides an equalizer with an impressive number of settings.

Performance

The "heart" of LeEco Le 2 with part number X527 is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 MSM8976, a 64-bit octa-core processor (4x Cortex-A53 1.4 GHz + 4x Cortex-A72 1.8 GHz). Responsible for graphics processing GPU Qualcomm Adreno 510. 3 GB of RAM ensure fast and smooth operation of multiple applications at once.

Connection

The device is available two alternately working Nano-sim. LeEco Le 2 supports 4G technology with a maximum data transfer rate of up to 300Mbps. Of course, no smartphone is complete without Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and LeEko Le 2 is no exception. GPS and GLONASS satellite navigation modules are responsible for position control.

LeEco Le 2 32Gb LTE Dual sim Gray is a prime example of value for money.

Hello everybody. Today I want to tell you about Leeco Le 2 X527 - one of the first smartphones from LeTV officially sold for Russia, and perhaps soon it will appear in the salons of MTS and other Svyaznykh. The campaign on the start of sales was promoted very steeply, and the main PR man of last year's hysteria from JD.com was in charge of the action. So I was expecting a deception in the delivery time or the absence of a real product, but everything went more or less bearable. The catch turned out to be in the quality of the product itself. details in the review:
The smartphone cost me $ 149 due to a discount of $ 76 (minus the cashback $ 14.9 - generally super)

Although my opinion is the real price of such a smartphone. Leeco Cool1 is on sale at a price of only $ 25 ($ 170) - we get + 30% battery, headphone jack and a dual camera (it's not clear about it yet, I'll check it out the other day). Focusing on the price of Cool1 - we understand that $ 149 is quite an adequate price for Le2! Especially considering the price drop for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro. And new Xiaomi is on the way, most likely on Snapdregon 625/652 ...

Bought on September 19, delivery by SPSR. The delivery service received the order only on the 27th, and with the promised 15 days of delivery, the total time was 14. I received a smartphone on October 3.

Now my personal opinion on each item:
Screen: It has a mediocre quality - at small angles there is fading and loss of brightness / contrast (much worse than XRN3Pro, for example, and will continue to compare with it).

The photo is not transmitted, on the video everything is very clearly visible. The screen is not IPS, most likely, but a high-quality TFT TN - at the corners there is a darkening of large areas of the picture and an inversion of gray tones. The usual for IPS leaving in purple or light when viewed diagonally is not.

There is enough brightness in the sun (although October, maybe there will be difficulties on the beach)

Additional Information

Minimum brightness slightly higher than XRN3Pro

Additional Information

Automatic brightness works well.
You can customize the color gamut of the screen, as in all modern mid-range smartphones:
There is a setting for scaling, font size and other things - there are a lot of settings:

Additional Information

CPU: Has two clusters - 4 powerful Cortex A72 cores, and 4 Cortex A53 cores. Really very fast, 82,000 in anttu and 18,800 of them in the 3D test - it's very cool. At the level of the Galaxy S6 approximately.

Adreno 510 video accelerator: it is also more than enough for top games, and even screen recording does not fail performance as in X20 media libraries (with their Mali), for example.
Throttling: (FIXED) there is no strong overheating, although the smartphone is hot to the touch - the performance drop is about 7% - and it did not get lower even after another 30 minutes of the test.

Throttling

Operative: fairly fast 3Gb - still enough for everything with a margin.

Additional Information

Storage device determined from Toshiba, produced in May 2016. Quite fast, but not champion.

Additional Information

There is nothing to add here - see the test results.

Performance tests

WiFi speed(connecting to my 300 megabit router) showed 150 megabits. According to the tariff, the speed is 70 (it does not show on the wire below) the smart is not bad in this - almost the maximum.

Range (reception sensitivity) WiFi normal

A meter from the router

Five meters behind 2 walls

In the corridor - 8 meters to the router and three brick walls

Navigation: like all modern smarts, he sees both gps and glonass and Chinese beidou. The accuracy and stability are excellent.

Charger Produced by Hui Zhou Dong Young:
12V-5V / 3-2A It's cool - it charges up to 70% in half an hour:

But fast charging works strange:
Turning fast charging on / off does not affect ANYTHING.

And it turned out that only half of it was flooded during this time!

No less interesting and meter cable for charging and synchronizing with a PC. At one end
standard Type-C, on the second there is a double-sided big USB - a Chinese invention

External review showed a high quality fit of the parts, the entire back panel is made of metal. Metal inserts at the top and bottom - the body is not unibad like the iPhone. The chamfers around the screen have microscopic irregularities.
The flash is two-tone, as a flashlight is not very bright, but as a flash - I liked it.

Main camera: Complete disappointment... Almost all photos come out blurry. What's stock, what's other cameras. Only in bright sunlight can you get a more or less detailed picture. At a distance of more than 2 meters, there is sometimes detail. True, all the pictures are darkish, and there is nothing in the shadows - the FS will not correct it.
if you have at hand for comparison Galaxy S5, Nubia Z9, Xiaomi Redmi 3s / Note 3 Pro - then you understand, we are cool to ... cheated!
on the left XRN3Pro - on the right Le 2 - can you see the DIFFERENCE?

Here are the originals (shot with flash)

In many photos, there are many areas of blurry. It seems to be software. I tried to measure it by the world, the camera takes 1 out of 10 pictures clearly and then with a resolution it looks more like 6-7 megapixels.
FROM ONE FRAME areas:

Sample photos (compressed):

With flash

Night

The originals of photos and videos are here:
The video shoots in 4K resolution. Bit rate is low. I shoot Snap camera with a bit rate of 62mbps, the result is better (100mbps speed of the CPU and the built-in storage is also possible), but still a bit dark. As if the contrast is lifted up.

ADDED 06.10
Cameras checked many (apps) and their settings:
Found some oddities- When photographing macro, the focus is actually a quarter deeper than tapped on the screen!
When photographing with a zoom, it is VISIBLE that the picture is blurred after the PICTURE. Those. when you hover on the screen, a clear picture, and after a snapshot, it is already shown as soapy.
Image SIZE any camera produces 3-4 megabytes, the same image on XRN3Pro - 7-8 megabytes!

Front-camera... Shoots 8MP, 1080p video. There is no autofocus, there is a face improvement. Surprisingly not bad. Suitable for selfies. You can shoot a video for her, but at a distance of no more than a meter, then everything is very muddy.

Camera app interface very simple - minimum settings:

Additional Information

Receive gsm / 3g / lte basement / elevator - better than average
The quality of the transmitted sound during the conversation is good.
Dialer has Cyrillic in quick search both on the keyboard and in the contact list

Additional Information

:

There are interesting items in the settings ... but they are not active - we apply until they are done and inserted.

Additional Information

Speaker multimedia quite loud, not squeaky, trying to convey a rich sound.
The spoken speaker does not wheeze, you can hear it perfectly, there is a volume margin.

The smartphone plays video anyone without straining, also easily knows how to work in a VR helmet, thanks to the presence of a heap of dastchiks. There are a huge number of them here:
Gyroscope, accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, magnetometer, rotation sensor, hall sensor, linear acceleration, rotation, step detector, proximity and lighting course

Fingerprint sensor: works a little slower than that of XRN3Pro, it seemed to me that the number of recognitions is two times lower, but then I got used to it. 7 out of 10 attempts will recognize.

Infrared port, it works, the app is preinstalled. But the music center does not know as a class.

Shell: LeeCo's add-on over Android 6.0.1 is called EUI, here it is version 5.8 at the moment. I will not talk about it, because you can write a book on it)) briefly, we can say - it's like MIUI from Xiaomi only in a slightly different way.
There is a "Dual Application" - to run two copies of one application at the same time - but so far it has one application and that is Chinese.

Additional Information

Battery at 3000mAh, not enough for gaming on the road (you can suddenly be left without connection), but in principle, average activity will be enough for a day. Up to 6 hours of the screen at full brightness and 3g (people with 4pd reported) is not very bad. With my load it will be enough for 2 days for sure.
Difficulties with cables for power banks - you need adapters for Type-C.
I also noticed that the computer does not want to charge from USB! Charged by 15% in 2 hours
It also takes a long time to charge from a regular 2A charge - it takes only 1000mAh.

Peculiarities
The unusualness of this smartphone in the promised warranty on the territory of Russia, even on a broken screen (I am almost sure that a fake and it will be written in the warranty that mechanical damage cannot be a warranty case)
Fast free shipping.
Large Chinese manufacturer looking to build an ecosystem all the way to an electric vehicle
In the kit, you can get free subscriptions to all kinds of services as a gift: be careful, when registering, you are asked to enter credit card details, and a promise to automatically withdraw money after the end of the free period!
Powerful platform, high-quality metal body.

Video review,

Sample video with swans:

On video without YouTube recompression, the quality is much better, the link to the cloud with the files is higher.

Minuses:
- The camera is noticeably worse than that of the XRN3Pro (soapy and dark). Bully ISO, flash mows.
- The screen is worse (angles are inversion of dark tones) than XRN3Pro

ADD: yesterday another glitch was discovered: when talking for more than half an hour, or recording with a dictaphone or camera, the sound starts gurgling, disappears randomly for half a second and recovers. On 4pda, too, have already noticed - I met several references.
Download audio file >>
The camera is worse than even that of the cheap Xiaomi Redmi 3S (on manual settings - almost equal)
Potentially, it is good in Le2, but its control is buggy - ISO rolls over to 4000, autofocus misses in depth (experiments have confirmed), Compresses jpeg excessively to 2-4MB, Xiaomi 16MP - 7-8MB. The flash takes too long to analyze something, and the camera still misses and sets the ISO / shutter speed incorrectly!
Well, the screen loses gray shades at not large angles - sometimes completely!

I would very much like to hope that at least the camera will be fixed with firmware.

Many people hear a PISK from the Type-C connector, it even interferes with video recording on a smartphone camera. I can barely hear it, it is not on the records. I checked the graph with the SpecScope program, the microphone of the Sony tablet hears background noise, light with peaks.

Expected features and minor / subjective cons.
- Fingerprint sensor works worse than XRN3Pro
- There is no possibility of installing MicroSD (unlike XRN3Pro)
- Black mourning frames around the screen
- No headphone jack
- Heats up a little more than XRN3Pro
pros
- Performance is slightly higher than XRN3Pro
- Fast charging
- The case looks more interesting
- Warranty in Russia
- Cheaper ($ 145 stock) than XRN3Pro 3/32
I hope the camera will be corrected by software, the sensor is not so bad. And for games and the rest, the smartphone is wonderful. Claims to the screen arise only if you recently had some kind of high-quality smart in your hands, or if you are a photographer)) it is better for them to bypass this product of Chinese marketing for a kilometer.

P.S. Fixed bug about TROTTLING, added video review. Added cons

Smartphones from the Chinese company LeEco, which previously bore the name LeTV, have already appeared in our reviews (LeTV 1s X500, LeTV One X600), but then this manufacturer was little known in Russia. Now, after the noisy entry of the brand into the Russian market, it is worth telling a little more about LeEco. In general terms, LeEco is a popular electronics manufacturer and video content provider in its homeland. His assortment includes not only TVs and smartphones, but even models of smart bicycles and smart cars. When it comes to video content, by 2010 the company had become the leading online video platform in China with a monthly audience of over 800 million users. She owns thousands of cinemas, the rights to hundreds of films and TV series, and even her own film studio, Le Vision Pictures (LeVP).

As a result, LeEco was able to create a unique vertically integrated ecosystem that combines an online platform, content, devices for viewing it (TVs and smartphones, virtual reality helmets) and mobile applications. Now she intends to conquer the Russian market as well: LeRee President Viktor Xu announced plans to invest from $ 0.5 billion to $ 1 billion in the Russian economy over three years. LeRee (LeEco Russia and Eastern Europe) is a subsidiary of the LeEco holding, specially created in 2016 to do business in Russia and Eastern Europe, as well as in the CIS countries.

It is clear that in this context smartphones are not the main product for LeEco, but just a platform for consuming paid content. A kind of your own "console", which is not a sin to implement at a cheaper price, but with great coverage, in the hope of profit from the monetization of their services. True, they are not yet optimized for Russia, so for the first time, domestic LeClub subscribers will receive partner content from Amediateka, Liters, ivi, Megogo and Zvooq. It is difficult to say whether such a subscription business model will be successful in Russia, time will tell. In our review, we traditionally turn to the technical capabilities and consider in all details the most massive of the models of current smartphones presented in the LeEco range - Le 2.

Contents of delivery

The LeEco Le 2 smartphone is sold in a large rectangular box made of matte cardboard with a laconic design. On a black background, only the silvery company logo and a sticker with the main characteristics flaunt.

The kit consists of a powerful AC adapter with variable output current (2/3 A; 3.6 / 8/12 V), a USB Type-C connecting cable, a needle for ejecting cards, and a headphone adapter.

Appearance and usability

LeEco Le 2 received a large 5.5-inch screen and a metal body with an aluminum casing that covers everything except the front panel. Wide flat side edges and a slightly sloping rear wall have a matte rough surface. Two plastic inserts on the top and bottom of the back side of the case, which cover the antennas of the communication modules, received a texture similar in color.

The LeEco Le 2 has a metal case, but everything here suggests that the manufacturer tried to minimize production costs as much as possible. Nobody bothered to give metal surfaces any distinctive feature, such as a sanding effect. The same applies to the front part: the screen is covered with ordinary flat and transparent glass, there are no sloping edges like modern 2.5D glasses, there is no tint. Because of this, as well as the fact that the painted frame under the glass has no pattern, the front panel as a whole looks rustic.

The body is rather large and thick, but due to its low weight, strongly rounded corners in plan and good shape, the device does not feel massive in the hand. It fits comfortably in clothing pockets, fits comfortably in the palm of your hand, does not slip out, and does not leave fingerprints on its matte surfaces. There are no complaints about the assembly: all parts are clearly fitted, no cracks or deflections were noticed.

The back panel, as usual, is given over to the main camera module, flash and fingerprint scanner. The camera module does not stick out beyond the surface of the body, so using a smartphone lying on the table is quite comfortable. The camera is equipped with an LED flash made of two multi-colored LEDs, the flash is quite bright. For some reason, the pad of the fingerprint sensor is made mirrored, and, of course, there are traces of any touch on it. This mirror, instantly covered with fingerprints, always looks sloppy and does not decorate the overall look, but only spoils it.

The slot for cards is located on the left side, you can install two Nano-SIM cards in it, but for a microSD memory card there is neither a separate place, nor the ability to install it instead of one of the SIM cards (that is, the slot is not hybrid). Hot swapping of cards is supported.

The front panel has an LED event indicator in the upper part above the screen, and a full set of necessary sensors installed right there, next to the earpiece grill, and a bright backlighting of the bottom row of touch buttons below the screen. Control buttons can be quickly locked and unlocked by simultaneously pressing the volume and power buttons. This is convenient: not everyone likes the touch buttons on the case, which are triggered by the slightest accidental touch, but here this issue is solved simply.

The side buttons on the right side are pretty stiff and take some getting used to. But in general, their location and size do not cause irritation, this is a complete order.

At the top, there is only a small dot of the infrared transmitter used to emulate the remote control. Without it, of course, there is nowhere in LeTV products, since all of them are positioned primarily as members of the LeEco ecosystem, where the first place is now the consumption of video content by subscription. Soon, TVs of this brand will begin to be sold in Russia, and it will be even easier to interact with them using such a smartphone. However, even for an old Philips TV, our LeEco Le 2 could become a remote control without any problems.

The USB Type-C connector is installed in the middle of the bottom end; it supports connecting other devices and flash drives in USB OTG mode. On both sides of it, holes are symmetrically cut in the body, supposedly letting in sound from the speakers, but in reality, as usual, the speaker is hidden only behind one of these groups, the second is a props (perhaps there is a spoken microphone behind it).

The 3.5 mm audio jack was removed from the device altogether, standard headphones can only be connected to the USB Type-C connector using the supplied adapter. But headphones connected directly to the USB Type-C connector were not found in the kit, although the company has already presented such headphones with an active noise cancellation system and support for its own CDLA standard, certified by the Chinese Musicians Association. The USB port allows uncompressed audio to be streamed to a decoder inside these headphones, and these headphones do not require a separate power supply.

In Russia, the device can be purchased in a golden case, as well as in a dark gray version, but in other markets there are other color options.

Screen

LeEco Le 2 is equipped with an IPS touchscreen display with dimensions of 68 × 121 mm. Diagonal - 5.5 inches, resolution - 1920 × 1080 pixels, dot density is approximately 401 ppi. The screen here is not "frameless", the width of the frame on the sides is about 3 mm.

The brightness of the display can be adjusted manually or by automatic adjustment based on the operation of the ambient light sensor. The AnTuTu test diagnoses support for 10 simultaneous multitouch clicks. When you bring the smartphone to your ear, the screen is adequately locked and unlocked using the proximity sensor. There are no functions to turn on and off the screen by tapping on the glass, but you can wake up the smartphone by touching the fingerprint scanner.

A detailed examination using measuring instruments was carried out by the editor of the "Monitors" and "Projectors and TV" sections Alexey Kudryavtsev... Here is his expert opinion on the screen of the test sample.

The front surface of the screen is made in the form of a glass plate with a mirror-smooth surface, resistant to scratches. Judging by the reflection of objects, the anti-glare properties of the screen are no worse than those of the Google Nexus 7 (2013) (below, just Nexus 7). For clarity, here is a photo in which a white surface is reflected in the turned off screens (on the left - Nexus 7, on the right - LeEco Le 2, then they can be distinguished by their size):

The screen of the LeEco Le 2 is slightly darker (brightness in the photos is 105 versus 112 in the Nexus 7). The doubling of reflected objects in the LeEco Le 2 screen is very weak, which indicates that there is no air gap between the layers of the screen (more specifically, between the outer glass and the surface of the LCD matrix) (OGS type screen - One Glass Solution). Due to the smaller number of boundaries (such as glass / air) with very different refractive indices, such screens look better in conditions of intense ambient light, but their repair in the case of cracked outer glass is much more expensive, since the entire screen has to be changed. On the outer surface of the screen, there is a special oleophobic (grease-repellent) coating, which is noticeably better in efficiency than that of the Nexus 7. Therefore, fingerprints are removed much easier, and appear at a slower rate than in the case of ordinary glass.

With manual brightness control and with the display of the white field on the whole screen, the maximum brightness value was about 440 cd / m², the minimum - 4 cd / m². The maximum brightness is quite high, and given the excellent anti-glare properties, readability even on a sunny day outdoors should be at an acceptable level. In complete darkness, the brightness can be lowered to a comfortable value. In the presence of automatic brightness control by the light sensor (it is located to the left of the front speaker slot). In automatic mode, when the ambient light conditions change, the screen brightness both increases and decreases. The operation of this function depends on the position of the brightness adjustment. If it is 100%, then in complete darkness the auto-brightness function reduces the brightness to 40 cd / m2 (normal), in an office illuminated with artificial light (about 550 lx) sets it to 340 cd / m2 (bright), in a very bright environment (corresponds to illumination on a clear day outdoors, but without direct sunlight - 20,000 lux or slightly more), the brightness rises to 440 cd / m² (to the maximum, which is needed); if the slider is about 50%, then the values are as follows: 7, 260 and 440 cd / m² (the first value is low, the second is high), the control for 0% is 4, 150 and 440 cd / m² (only the first value is low). It turns out that the automatic brightness control function works more or less adequately, and to some extent allows the user to customize his work for individual requirements, although we did not get a completely satisfactory option. At any brightness level, there is no significant backlight modulation, so there is no screen flickering either.

This smartphone uses an IPS-type matrix. The micrographs show the typical IPS subpixel structure:

For comparison, you can see the gallery of photomicrographs of screens used in mobile technology.

The screen has good viewing angles without a significant color shift even with large gaze deviations from the perpendicular to the screen and without inverting (except for the darkest when deviating along one diagonal) shades. For comparison, here are photographs in which the same images are displayed on the screens of LeEco Le 2 and Nexus 7, while the brightness of the screens was initially set to about 200 cd / m2, and the color balance on the camera was forcibly switched to 6500 K.

White field perpendicular to screens:

Note the good uniformity of brightness and color tone of the white field.

And the test picture:

Colors on the screen of LeEco Le 2 have close to natural saturation, but the color balance is noticeably shifted towards the blue, "cold" area.

Now at an angle of approximately 45 degrees to the plane and to the side of the screen:

It can be seen that the colors did not change much on both screens, but on the LeEco Le 2 the contrast decreased to a greater extent due to the strong black lightening.

And a white box:

The brightness at an angle at the screens decreased (at least 5 times, based on the difference in exposure), but in the case of LeEco Le 2, the drop in brightness is greater. When deviated diagonally, the black field is lightened strongly and acquires a slight reddish tint. The photos below demonstrate this (the brightness of the white areas in the direction perpendicular to the plane of the screens is the same!):

And from a different angle:

With a perpendicular view, the uniformity of the black field is average:

The contrast (approximately in the center of the screen) is high - about 1100: 1. The response time for the transition black-white-black is 26 ms (14 ms on + 12 ms off). The transition between gray tones of 25% and 75% (based on the numerical value of the color) and back takes 41 ms in total. The gamma curve, plotted using 32 points with equal intervals in terms of the numerical value of the shade of gray, did not reveal a blockage in either the highlights or the shadows. The exponent of the approximating power function is 2.41, which is higher than the standard value of 2.2. In this case, the real gamma curve significantly deviates from the power dependence:

This device has a dynamic adjustment of the backlight brightness in accordance with the nature of the displayed image - the brightness of the backlight decreases on dark images in the middle. As a result, the obtained dependence of brightness on the hue (gamma curve) does not correspond to the gamma curve of a static image, since the measurements were carried out with sequential output of gray shades on almost the entire screen. For this reason, a number of tests - determining the contrast and response time, comparing the black illumination at angles - we carried out (however, as always) when displaying special templates with a constant average brightness, and not single-color fields across the entire screen. In general, such a non-switchable brightness correction does nothing but harm, since a constant change in the brightness of the screen can at least cause some discomfort, reduce the visibility of gradations in the shadows in the case of dark images and the readability of the screen in bright light, since in not the lightest average images, the brightness illumination is underestimated, and its already not an excess.

The color gamut is slightly wider than sRGB:

The spectra show that the matrix filters moderately mix the components together:

However, the deviations of the coordinates of the primary colors from the vertices of the sRGB triangle are small, so visually the colors on this screen practically do not differ from the natural ones. In this device, in the screen settings, it is possible to choose one of four profiles.

All photos above are taken with the default profile selected - Letv... When choosing a profile Bright the coverage triangle is distorted:

And in the profile Estest. coverage is compressed to the sRGB borders:

In profile Soft the coverage does not change, but the color balance is corrected - excessive cyanosis is reduced, the image becomes more pleasant for the eyes:

Let's see how this affects the values of the color temperature and deviation from the spectrum of a black body (ΔE) in different shades of gray:

In the case of the default profile, the color temperature is significantly higher than the standard 6500 K and the ΔE varies greatly from hue to hue - this negatively affects the visual assessment of the color balance. In case of a profile Soft the color temperature is closer to 6500 K, but ΔE increases, although it still remains below 10 in most shades, which is considered an acceptable indicator for a consumer device. The second option is probably better.

To summarize: the screen has a fairly high maximum brightness and has excellent anti-reflective properties, so the device can be used outdoors without any problems even on a sunny summer day. In complete darkness, the brightness can be lowered to a comfortable level. It is also permissible to use a mode with automatic brightness adjustment, which works more or less adequately. The advantages of the screen include an effective oleophobic coating, no air gap in the layers of the screen and no flicker, as well as high contrast. The disadvantages are the low stability of black to deviation of the gaze from the perpendicular to the plane of the screen, as well as non-switchable dynamic adjustment of the backlight brightness. Nevertheless, given the importance of characteristics for this particular class of devices, the screen quality can be considered high.

Sound

The smartphone sounds with high quality, the sound both in the headphones and from the speaker pleases with the breadth of the frequency range, saturation, purity and brightness of the sound. The volume reserve is not excessive, but at any volume level the sound is free from noise impurities and distortions. Dolby Atmos technology, which is gaining popularity among smartphone manufacturers, is also responsible for the sound quality.

In the conversational dynamics, the voice of the familiar interlocutor remains recognizable, the interlocutors on the other side also do not notice any noticeable distortions. The dictaphone records sound with high quality, a noise reduction system is present, and in general it copes with its tasks adequately. There is no FM radio in the device. The vibrating alert is above average in terms of power, it is well felt.

Camera

The smartphone is equipped with two digital camera modules with a resolution of 16 and 8 megapixels - "24 megapixels for two cameras", as LeEco writes about this on its website, which looks funny. The front module here has a sensor with a resolution of 8 megapixels and a pixel size of 1.4 microns, a wide-angle lens (76.5 °) with an aperture of f / 2.2. The focus is fixed, there is no own flash. The quality of shooting for the level of selfies is average, sharpness and detail are sometimes lame, as well as the white balance. Such a smartphone could have a better selfie camera.

The main camera received a 16-megapixel sensor and a lens with an f / 2.0 aperture, fast phase detection autofocus and dual bright LED flash. The only thing missing is the stabilization function.

The control menu here is its own, it is clear and easy to use, everything you need is always in front of your eyes. You can manually adjust and set exposure, ISO, white balance, brightness, contrast, you can choose additional shooting scenarios such as night, HDR or beautification mode. You cannot transfer control of camera settings to third-party applications using the Camera2 API, there is no possibility of recording in RAW either.

The camera can shoot video at maximum 4K resolution, but does not support 60 fps. There is a possibility of slow-motion recording at a speed of 120 fps, but in a low resolution of 720p, which does not make much sense, but manufacturers persistently insert such a mode. Apart from the absence of the stabilization function, which makes shooting on the go jerky, as well as not very high-quality recorded sound, otherwise there are no complaints about shooting video at maximum resolution. The picture is clear, rich, detailed and juicy, there are no artifacts or slowdowns. The sound, unfortunately, is not perfect, there is a familiar echo effect, more like the sound of water in a tank.

The camera is not very good at shooting indoors.

Foliage begins to merge already in the middle plan.

Strong sharpening on wires and relatively good detailing in the background.

The numbers of the nearest cars are distinguishable.

The foregrounds work well.

The camera copes well with macro photography.

The camera works well, but is unstable. From time to time, it unpleasantly lathers the frame almost over the entire field, and this is not connected with exposure. Perhaps the program is periodically "lost" when it comes to small, non-contrasting details. However, in most cases, the result is clearly above average, even if we do not make allowances for the low light of the test shots. Despite the fact that there are quite a few typical problems here that are worth working on, the camera makes a good impression, and it will cope with documentary shooting accurately, and sometimes even with artistic.

Telephone part and communications

The network capabilities of LeEco Le 2 meet modern requirements: 11 LTE bands are supported, including three used in Russia, as well as two Wi-Fi bands, Bluetooth version 4.1, and all three satellite navigation systems - GPS, Glonass and Beidou ... There is only NFC. The connection speed in 4G networks and work with cellular networks do not cause any complaints: the smartphone instantly reconnects after a break, does not lose connection in areas of uncertain reception, and delivers high speeds in 4G. VoLTE calls over 4G network are supported.

There are no complaints about the operation of the navigation module, the first satellites during a cold start are detected within the first tens of seconds. The smartphone is equipped with a magnetic field sensor, on the basis of which the digital compass of navigation programs usually functions.

The smartphone supports dual SIM. The standard interface allows you to select a specific card for each of the functions in advance or right during the connection. Working with two SIM cards is organized according to the usual Dual SIM Dual Standby standard, when both cards can be in active standby mode, but cannot work at the same time - there is only one radio module here.

OS and software

The device uses 64-bit software platform Google Android version 6.0.1 with its own EUI 5.8 shell with the ability to update over the air.

The original Google interface has been completely redesigned, everything that can be changed here. The menu for installed applications has been removed, the notification menu has been improved, the reboot menu has been modified, the quick access menu has been significantly expanded (it opens here by pressing the extreme left button and is combined with the menu of the last open programs). It is possible to change the themes, completely disable the touch buttons under the screen, sort and distribute the application icons on the home screens at will.

In addition to the usual enlargement of fonts, you can choose the entire enlarged interface scale, as in the iPhone Plus series. The fingerprint sensor can be used not only to authorize the user when unlocking the screen, but also to control the camera, players, as well as to unlock individual applications and photo galleries.

As for third-party applications, there are literally a few of them preinstalled here, all of them are useful. The main ones are the Phone Manager system utility, which optimizes work with memory, allows you to cleanly uninstall applications, monitors power consumption, etc., as well as a file manager. In addition, there is a weather widget and the aforementioned application for controlling TV and other household appliances. For some functions, you may need authorization and an account in the LeEco system, which, by the way, supports its own cloud storage.

Performance

The hardware platform of the smartphone is based on the 8-core SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 652, produced using 28-nanometer technology. It includes four powerful 64-bit ARM Cortex-A72 cores up to 1.8 GHz, complemented by four simpler 64-bit Cortex-A53 cores up to 1.4 GHz. For graphics processing in the SoC, the Adreno 510 video accelerator with an operating frequency of up to 600 MHz is responsible.

The amount of RAM of the smartphone is 3 GB, the amount of built-in flash memory is 32 GB (the user of which has about 23 GB of free space). The allocated memory capacity in LeEco Le 2 cannot be increased by microSD cards, there is simply no slot for them. But it is possible to connect external flash drives to the USB port in OTG mode.

We are already familiar with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 platform, we had to meet it, say, in the LG G5 se, and the test results of the reviewer are similar. This SoC has established itself as a fairly powerful advanced platform - not top-end, but noticeably above average. Compared to competitors, it is not only twice ahead of the mid-level MediaTek Helio P10, but also in no way inferior to the flagship MediaTek X20.

In complex tests, the results turned out to be very impressive, about the level of the top solutions of last season, such as Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 or Mediatek MT6795T. At the same time, Snapdragon 652, in general, is not positioned as a flagship. Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 has confidently taken its place in the middle-upper segment, its capabilities are currently more than enough for any purpose, including for demanding games. Unassuming "Tanks" run at maximum fps, heavy games with high graphics settings also do not slow down, do not crash or throttled the processor. The performance margin of this SoC should be quite enough for several future updates, in this regard, there are no complaints about LeEco Le 2.

Testing with the latest AnTuTu and GeekBench benchmarks:

All the results obtained by us when testing the smartphone in the most recent versions of popular benchmarks, we have summarized in tables for convenience. Several other devices from various segments are usually added to the table, also tested on similar latest versions of benchmarks (this is done only for a visual assessment of the obtained dry numbers). Unfortunately, within the framework of one comparison, it is impossible to present the results from different versions of benchmarks, so many worthy and relevant models remain "behind the scenes" - due to the fact that they once passed the "obstacle course" on previous versions of test programs.

Testing the graphics subsystem in gaming tests 3DMark, GFXBenchmark, and Bonsai Benchmark:

When testing in 3DMark for the most productive smartphones, it is now possible to run the application in Unlimited mode, where the rendering resolution is fixed at 720p and VSync is disabled (which can cause the speed to rise above 60 fps).

Browser cross-platform tests:

As for benchmarks for evaluating the speed of the javascript engine, you should always make allowances for the fact that the results in them significantly depend on the browser in which they are launched, so that the comparison can be truly correct only on the same OS and browsers, and this possibility is available when testing not always. In the case of Android OS, we always try to use Google Chrome.

To test the "omnivorous" video playback (including support for various codecs, containers and special features, such as subtitles), we used the most common formats that make up the bulk of the content available on the Web. Note that it is important for mobile devices to have support for hardware video decoding at the chip level, since it is often impossible to process modern versions using processor cores alone. Also, do not expect a mobile device to decode everything, since the leadership in flexibility belongs to the PC, and no one is going to challenge it. All results are tabulated.

According to the test results, the subject, to his delight, was equipped with all the necessary decoders that are needed to fully play most of the most common multimedia files on the network, including audio files. To play them successfully, you do not have to resort to using a third-party player - for example, MX Player. Although the AC3 audio format can be played without problems in it, this is a rather rare case for a modern smartphone.

Further video playback testing was done by Alexey Kudryavtsev.

Theoretically, we could not check the possible support for adapters for outputting images to an external device due to the lack of an adapter option that connects to the USB Type-C port, so we had to limit ourselves to testing the output of video files on the screen of the device itself. To do this, we used a set of test files with an arrow and a rectangle moving one division per frame (see "Methodology for testing video playback and display devices. Version 1 (for mobile devices) 720 / 24p Great No

Note: If both columns Uniformity and Skips green ratings are set, this means that, most likely, when watching movies, artifacts caused by uneven alternation and skipping of frames will either not be visible at all, or their number and visibility will not affect the viewing comfort. Red marks indicate possible problems with the playback of the respective files.

According to the criterion for outputting frames, the quality of video files playback on the screen of the smartphone itself is very good, since frames (or groups of frames) can (but are not required) to be displayed with uniform intervals of intervals and without frame drops. When playing video files with a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels (1080p) on a smartphone screen, the image of the video file itself is displayed exactly along the edge of the screen, one to one pixel by pixel, that is, in its original resolution. The brightness range displayed on the screen corresponds to the standard range of 16-235: all shades are displayed in shadows and highlights.

Battery life

The non-removable rechargeable battery installed in LeEco Le 2 has a capacity of 3000 mAh. According to the test results, the smartphone showed a confident average level in terms of battery life. In real scenarios of use, the device calmly lives an eventful day without recharging, and with economical operation it can last even more.

Testing has traditionally been carried out at the usual power consumption level, but the smartphone also has a standard power saving mode.

Continuous reading in the Moon + Reader program (with a standard, light theme) at the minimum comfortable brightness level (the brightness was set to 100 cd / m2) with auto-scrolling lasted more than 13 hours until the battery was fully discharged, and with continuous viewing of high quality video (720p) with the same brightness level through a home Wi-Fi network, the device can withstand 10 hours. In 3D games mode, the smartphone worked for about 5 hours.

The smartphone is charged quite quickly from the standard network adapter, the proprietary Qualcomm QuickCharge charging, here called Le SuperCharge, is supported. As a result, the device is fully charged from a standard mains adapter for 2 hours with a current of 0.6 A at a voltage of 9 V.

Outcome

As for the price of LeEco Le 2, everything is not easy here. The recommended price for the device is 15 thousand rubles, and a two-year guarantee (1 + 1 year for club members), free screen repair within three months and courier delivery are supposedly promised. However, in fact, LeMall still offers mandatory registration of an account with the expectation of a pre-order, or transfer it to AliExpress. If you manage to get a gift coupon, then such a smartphone will cost the lucky ones 10 thousand. In the future, they promise to open a branded offline store LeEco in the Atrium shopping center in Moscow.

In the end, the smartphone left a pleasant impression, but this is far from the level of top manufacturers like Apple and Samsung, with which the company representatives so self-confidently compared themselves during the Russian presentation. Le 2 is the level of solutions from Xiaomi, Meizu and Lenovo, and these companies certainly have something to offer for 15 thousand. In general, LeEco Le 2 has an average hardware platform in terms of performance, a good screen, sound system and a set of communication modules, quite satisfactory autonomy. The smartphone is very good in terms of its capabilities, no frank marriage, imperfections and shortcomings have been identified. For 10 thousand, this is already quite an interesting option to purchase, but at this price you still have to try to get it.

In conclusion, we suggest watching our video review of the LeEco Le 2 (X527) smartphone:

It has a wonderful bright and high quality, powerful hardware component, enough memory and a fairly strong processor.

It supports almost all types of networks and all types of communication and navigation.

This is not a phone with a narrow focus, but a device that can work in all the necessary areas - from Internet surfing to, from calls in networks at any frequency to games and playback of multimedia files.

How good it is and whether it meets the stated requirements, as well as what tests and user reviews say about it - all this is worth talking about in more detail.

Main characteristics and parameters

This is a sleek 5.5-inch smartphone.

The body is metal (possibly aluminum), usually silver, gold or bronze, with small plastic inserts.

The smartphone itself is quite thin and light, weighing about 150 grams. The phone has support for 3G and 4G networks, two SIM cards.

The problem with the lack of internal memory, which arises due to the inability to install applications on a flash card in this model, is solved by the fact that there is no slot for a flash card at all, and the internal memory of the phone is 32 GB.

The main 16-megapixel camera is equipped with a dual flash.

The front camera is also quite high quality - 8 megapixels. Rechargeable battery - 3000 mAh.

Appearance and representativeness

The phone looks quite expensive and tasteful, there are no design excesses and pretentiousness, but at the same time it cannot be said that it is made too simple and austere.

Thanks to the metal body and the calm color of the gadget, it acquires solidity and external quality.

The rear corners are slightly rounded, so in the hand it lies like a glove.

It is pleasant to use such a phone yourself, and in public it is not a shame.

The smartphone itself is slim and sleek.

The SIM card slot is located on the left side.

Infrared port directly on the front panel.

On / off buttons and volume control are on the right side of the panel.

Accordingly, the USB connector is located at the bottom end of the panel, and the speakers of the left and right sound channels are also located on it.

Everything is quite convenient and practical.

However, the design, appearance, and the table of characteristics (which he has quite good) are one thing, and the work of a smartphone in practice, sometimes it is a completely different matter.

And although it cannot be said that 3 GB is something outstanding, nevertheless, it is quite enough for any work with any programs, games, etc.

As for the read-only memory, a somewhat non-standard solution is used here.

Attention! The phone has no memory card slot!

On the one hand, the lack of a memory card is scary, because it is impossible to increase the memory, what if it runs out, and then what?

However, you should not be intimidated, because the built-in memory of the smartphone in our case is 32 GB, which is not so little.

And besides, there is an undeniable advantage over smartphones that leave up to 8 GB for the main memory, with the expectation that most of the information will be stored on removable media.

However, it is often the lack of internal memory that creates problems for the user, since it is the programs and games that occupy the entire internal memory, and these types of information cannot be transferred to, so this feature of the phone can be considered an advantage.

Battery

Of course, everything that is beautiful and cool that is in our smartphones works only due to the fact that it has a constant current source in the form of a rechargeable battery.

And no matter how cool the gadget itself is, if its battery is weak and weak, discharges very quickly and, moreover, at the most crucial moment, then a penny is the price of all the other cool bells and whistles.

What is the LeEco Le 2 equipped with as a power source?

This is a rechargeable battery, standard for this class of phones, with a capacity of 3000 mAh.

And this battery makes it possible to use the smartphone in about this rhythm.

This is 2-3 hours of surfing the web, about 30-40 minutes of playing, about half an hour of calls in addition, and if all this is stretched out for one day, then in the evening you may find that after all this you have 15-20% of the charge left.

So, in principle, it is quite functional and practical. Not a nuclear reactor, of course, but not too bad either.

Which, in principle, is confirmed (AnTuTu).

Cameras

The fact that the phone can take photos and videos at all is nonsense!

After all, if, for example, in the early 80s you said “I took a picture of all this on my phone,” then at best someone would add - "And I went to the store on the washing machine", in the worst case, you would be advised to see a psychiatrist.

We mean that no matter how cool the camera is on your smartphone, and the LeEco Le 2 has two cameras of 16 and 8 megapixels, any decent camera will still take a hundred steps forward.

Therefore, those cameras with which our smartphone is equipped can be called very worthy for a smartphone, of course.

Since any smartphone remains the size of a button, it still cannot absorb a sufficiently large amount of light.

Therefore, those photos that are taken under intense lighting, for example, outdoors or with a good flash, are quite sharp and clear.

In turn, those that are made in the room, with insufficient illumination, are more "blurry" or "noisy".

Nevertheless, they also cannot be called poor quality or defective. Quite decent legible and clear pictures.

Operating system and interface

LeEco Le 2 runs on 64-bit operating system Google Android 6.0.1 with a special shell EUI 5.8

The interface is very different from both the visualization and the application installation menu and the shortcut menu - everything has been redesigned, expanded and updated.

  • The inability to use an additional memory card.
  • The need to use an adapter from USB to 3.5 for headphones.
  • There are (according to user reviews) problems with the firmware.
  • So, overall, the picture is still pretty good.
