HWiNFO (HardWareInfo) is a free utility for viewing complete information about the computer's hardware. She will help you:

  • find out the manufacturer and model of components;
  • determine the hardware ID;
  • find out the technical characteristics of individual nodes;
  • view the temperature of the processor, video card, motherboard, hard drive, etc.;
  • test accessories.

The program comes in 32-bit and 64-bit assemblies, as well as a portable application.

Where to download HWiNFO

Download the HWiNFO utility from the official website: http://hwinfo.com/download.php

After downloading the file, install the program or unzip it to a folder if you downloaded the portable version.

Run the HWiNFO32.exe file.

Viewing System Information

Select a device on the left side of the window. After that, on the right side you will see all sorts of information about it:

  • manufacturer's brand;
  • model;
  • firmware version;
  • serial number;
  • module operation frequency;
  • device code
  • and much more:

Summary

Click the button Summary to display a summary of the system. Here is a summary of the important features of the computer. You can view:

  • motherboard model, chipset, BIOS version;
  • current processor frequency, number of cores, socket, multiplier;
  • volume and number of RAM modules;
  • the amount and type of memory of the video adapter, etc.:

Detailed sensor information

Click on the button Sensors at the top to view system sensor information:

  • temperature of the processor, video card, motherboard, hard drives;
  • CPU and RAM load;
  • information about voltage, timings, multipliers, etc.

HWiNFO is one of the best system profiler(s) for Windows®. If you need detailed information about the hardware that"s installed and present on your PC, you have to try this.

Which version to choose?

The program is available in 3 versions:

HWiNFO™ (runs only on DOS operating system and you can as we don't have this version listed on this page).

HWiNFO32™ (it will run on all 32-bit Windows® versions) is available as an installer, portable and beta files.

What does it do?

HWiNFO is a small software packed with a lot of features and an incredible amount of information about the hardware of your computer. HWiNFO is used by novice users (who look for basic info) and experienced users (for a deeper investigation) alike. Finally, it "s one of the best system utilities that I recently discovered.

HWiNFO(combined version of HWiNFO64 and HWiNFO32) shows extended information about the hardware components of the computer, such as hard disk temperature and S.M.A.R.T. and supports system tray indicators, notifications, and other tools.

It is a powerful information tool that collects important information about the state of the computer's hardware, such as S.M.A.R.T. and sensor readings.

Quick installation and user-friendly interface

The installation procedure is very quick and easy and does not require close attention. During startup, HWiNFO can be configured to display only sensor information or a general summary. In the same window, you can change the configuration settings.

Downloading data from all devices may take some time. All devices are displayed in a tree view where you can access information related to the CPU, motherboard, memory, buses, video card, monitor, audio devices, network devices and ports.

View information and create detailed reports

For example, you can view standard and advanced processor settings, BIOS version, integrated graphics card support, serial number of each memory stick and update timings, processor frequency, graphics driver information, monitor height and width, supported video modes, S.M.A.R.T. for discs, audio driver data, MAC address and maximum connection speed. The user can create reports in various formats: LOG, CSV, XML, HTML, MHTML and TXT with preselected sections of information.

Analyze sensor readings to determine computer health

HWiNFO also shows sensor-related data in order to, for example, predict the best scenario for updating individual components. The program monitors the temperature of hard drives to prevent overheating. Sensors of the processor, hard drives, video cards, RAM, etc. are supported. The user can set the unit of measurement, update rate, automatic measurement logging, system tray icon integration for preferred components and events (e.g. reaching the maximum temperature), etc.

Conclusion

HWiNFO consumes the minimum amount of system resources and has an excellent response time. The program worked quickly and stably in tests without any freezes, crashes and errors.
