  • sour cream (low-fat) - 6-7 tbsp. spoons

  • ground paprika - 1-1.5 tsp,
  • ground black pepper to taste.

  • natural yogurt (sour cream) - 5-6 tbsp. spoons

How to cook chicken stew in sour cream

Having previously defrosted the chicken fillet, wash it and proceed to processing. Cut off excess fat and any bones and veins, and then cut the meat into small pieces of your choice.

After the expiration date, put the chicken pieces on the tomatoes,

Wash the chicken breast and remove the fat. Cut the chicken into small cubes, this way it will soak the sauce best.

Peel the tomatoes and cut into cubes. For easy skinning of tomatoes, make a cruciform cut at the top of each tomato and pour boiling water over the tomatoes for 5 minutes. In the absence of fresh tomatoes, you can use tomatoes in your own juice, it is these tomatoes that I added to the dish.

Peel the garlic and cut into small cubes. It is not necessary to cut especially finely, since it can burn in a frying pan.

Heat some vegetable oil in a skillet and add the chopped garlic. Cook the garlic for 2-3 minutes to add flavor to the oil. Never overdo the garlic, otherwise it will burn and give an unpleasant aftertaste to the dish.

Put the chopped chicken over the garlic and fry the chicken fillet over high heat for 5 minutes with constant stirring. The fillet should change color from pink to white so that all juices are sealed inside.

Put the chopped tomatoes to the whitened chicken, stir and leave to simmer under a closed lid over low heat for 10 minutes.

At this time, combine sour cream with 1/3 cup of hot boiled water and stir. This is done so that when added to hot chicken, sour cream does not curl. After 10 minutes, add sour cream to the chicken and tomatoes. Add salt, pepper and dried basil immediately. Mix everything gently and leave on the stove for another 5 minutes under a closed lid.

Tomatoes need to be kept in boiling water for 3 minutes, after which they will be easily peeled from the skin. Now they need to be cut into pieces, about 3 by 3 centimeters in size. The onions need to be peeled and cut into small pieces.

When all the food has been prepared, it's time to turn on the stove and heat it up with vegetable oil. The thighs need to be slightly squeezed and lowered into the pan. The meat should be fried until half cooked, more precisely, until golden brown, the fire should be reduced, put tomatoes and onions on the chicken. Now it's time to cover the pan and the hostess is free for the next 40 minutes.

It is necessary to simmer until tender, that is, until the moment when the meat will lag behind the bones. The finished chicken pieces should not float in the gravy, they should be covered with it. If the meat is already ready, and there is still a lot of liquid, you just need to leave the pan on the fire without a lid for a few minutes and evaporate the excess moisture. During cooking, the onion will completely dissolve, giving its sharpness to the tomato sauce. Before serving, the cooked meat should be sprinkled with chopped herbs.
