Today, inflammatory diseases of the female genital area account for an impressive percentage of gynecological pathology (65 percent). In many countries, the rapid rise in inflammatory diseases is a consequence of urbanization, population migration, and changes in sexual behavior. These factors can be attributed to Russia as well.

Inflammatory diseases of the female genital tract: classification

Inflammatory diseases are divided into chronic and acute, and at the site of localization into: endometritis, vaginitis, and oophoritis.

Endometritis is an inflammatory process in the uterine cavity.

Salpingitis is an inflammatory process in the tube.

Vaginitis is an inflammation of the vaginal mucosa.

Oophoritis is an inflammation of the ovary.

Inflammatory diseases of the female genital tract: causes

The main reasons are all kinds of infections. This is often a group of genital infections that are sexually transmitted - mycoplasma, chlamydia, Trichomonas, uroplasma, herpes viruses, gonorrhea and others.

The penetration of infection into the female upper genital tract (uterine cavity, tubes) occurs with the help of Trichomonas, spermatozoa, passive transport of microorganisms is possible with a decrease in the protective function in the cervix of the "mucous plug". In addition, it is possible for microbes to enter through the lymph and blood.

So, for example, it has been established that up to forty gonococci can adhere to one sperm cell - and the more chlamydiae, the more sperm cells they are fixed, while reaching the uterine cavity, fallopian tubes, and sometimes the peritoneum. It should also be noted that the process of infection of the internal genital organs can be facilitated by intrauterine procedures, as well as artificial termination of pregnancy.

In recent years, there have been many reports of the appearance of inflammatory diseases in women using intrauterine devices. The risk of inflammatory processes of the fallopian tubes is increased fourfold, especially in nulliparous women.

Symptoms of inflammatory diseases of the female genital area

Today, in women, inflammatory processes have a slightly different course. There is a tendency to a latent course of the disease, that is, less pronounced. The patient is worried about: discomfort, moderate pain in the lower abdomen, scanty discharge from the genitals. Then these phenomena disappear even without a course of treatment. After a while, everything repeats itself. The woman reads that she is not so seriously ill to be diagnosed and treated. But in reality, the infection continues to do its job. It provokes lesions of the uterine cavity, fallopian tubes, a decrease in ovarian function. All this provokes the transition of inflammation to a chronic form, obstruction of the fallopian tubes, menstrual irregularities, decreased libido, infertility, and the occurrence of fibroids.

Effects

Inflammatory diseases are dangerous because they are one of the main causes of ectopic pregnancy, infertility, menstrual dysfunctions, tumors, sexual dysfunction, endometriosis and many other complications.

They also seriously increase the likelihood of developing such dangerous complications as premature birth, spontaneous miscarriage, premature discharge of amniotic fluid, intrauterine infection of the fetus with infections that provoked inflammation.

Some forms of human papillomavirus are the cause of most cases of cervical cancer. In infection with cytomegalovirus, there is a risk of developing various deformities in the fetus.

It is impossible to underestimate inflammatory diseases of the female genital area, since they can be transmitted in utero and during childbirth to a child. The underestimation of the importance of infections is obvious when analyzing the nature of diseases in newborns. Herpes, chlamydia and mycoplasmosis today occupy a leading position in the list of inflammatory and infectious diseases in newborns.

It is dangerous if the process continues for a long time, but the woman does not go to the gynecologist. Chronic inflammation is extremely difficult to cure and often cause infertility, but it must be treated - since the consequences are much worse than treatment!

Diagnostics and treatment

Determination of inflammatory diseases is possible only with a gynecological examination, as well as an in-depth competent examination, using modern techniques for detecting infections. Methods such as immunofluorescence analysis, PCR, determination of antibodies to an infectious agent in the blood, cultures from the cervix and vagina for flora, as well as antibiotic sensitivity are used.

Treatment of patients suffering from inflammatory diseases is carried out in several stages.

At the beginning of therapy, the infectious agent is eradicated. Treatment is selected on a strictly individual basis, taking into account the type of infection, the state of the woman's immunity, whether she has concomitant diseases.

The second stage of the treatment course is rehabilitation, that is, recovery. The infectious agent provoked an inflammation reaction of the affected organ, a certain change in its functions. If the treatment is stopped, after the infection has been eliminated, the inflammatory process will have a chronic course and will continue, provoking adhesions, persistent pelvic pain, discomfort during intercourse and other unpleasant symptoms.

For this reason, it is necessary to continue anti-inflammatory resorption treatment using physiotherapeutic techniques (ultrasound, electrophoresis of drugs), gynecological massage, use antihomotoxic therapy until final recovery.

Only such an approach to the treatment of inflammatory processes will give women the opportunity not to become sick with chronic diseases, and will not deprive them of the happiness of motherhood.

Female genital organs (Anatomy) - video

Algomenorrhea

This condition is characterized by painful periods. Algomenorrhea is functional and organic. In addition, algomenorrhea can be primary (with infantilism or malformations of the genital organs) and secondary (with endometriosis and inflammatory processes of the genital organs).

Causes

Diseases of the nervous system lead to functional algomenorrhea. In addition, the disease can develop against the background of infantilism.

Organic algomenorrhea occurs with malformations of the genital organs, endometriosis, inflammatory processes of the uterus and its appendages.

Symptoms

Algomenorrhea is accompanied by severe pains, which, in the functional form of the disease, appear on the eve or on the first day of menstruation, and in the organic form, they are present throughout menstruation and are stronger.

Treatment of diseases of the female genital organs

In the treatment of algomenorrhea, juice from berries is very helpful. For its preparation, the berries are squeezed through a dense linen cloth and mixed with sugar. For 1 liter of juice, take 2 kg of sugar. The juice should be taken in 2-3 tbsp. l. 3-4 times a day with a little water.

It is also helpful to drink peppermint tea with juice several times a day. In this case, it is recommended to lie more, and lubricate the lower abdomen with ichthyol ointment in half with petroleum jelly. In the evening, it is recommended to drink a cup of strong hot broth of ginger with sugar.

With very heavy menstruation, it is recommended to take an infusion of berries and leaves of wild strawberry: 1 tbsp. l. berries and leaves, taken in equal proportions, pour 2 cups of cold boiled water and leave for 6-8 hours, then filter.

Take an infusion of 0.5 tbsp. l. daily.

Inflammatory diseases

Inflammatory gynecological diseases in women occur more often than other diseases of the genital organs. The causative agents, as a rule, are bacteria such as staphylococcus, streptococcus, intestinal Escherichia, gonococcus, tubercle bacillus, Trichomonas, fungi, anaerobic bacteria, etc. The nature and course of the disease depends on the pathogen and the body's defenses. If the immune system is compromised, sepsis may develop.

Inflammatory diseases of the female genital organs can lead to menstrual irregularities, infertility, spontaneous abortion, etc.

There are the following inflammatory diseases of the female genital organs:

· vulvitis(inflammation of the vulva and vaginal opening);

· vulvovaginitis(inflammation of the vulva and vagina);

· vaginitis, or colpitis(inflammation of the vaginal mucosa);

· genital warts(multiple benign growths on the surface of the external genital organs and the entrance to the vagina);

· trichomoniasis(vaginal inflammation);

· endocervicitis(inflammation of the mucous membrane of the cervical canal);

· cervical erosion;

· endometritis(inflammation of the mucous membranes and muscle membranes of the uterus);

· metritis(inflammation of all the membranes of the uterus);

· parametritis(inflammation of the peri-uterine tissue);

· pelvioperitonitis(inflammation of the pelvic peritoneum);

· saulpingoophoritis, or adnexi t (inflammation of the uterine appendages).

Causes

Primary vulvitis is the result of uncleanliness or trauma to the genitals.

Diseases of the genital area include pathologies of a different nature and origin. Due to the anatomical features, these ailments in women and men will have their own specifics. Diseases of the genital organs in most cases are closely related to disorders of the urinary system. The etiology of disorders can be associated with congenital anomalies, the development of an inflammatory process, trauma, the introduction of infectious agents, tumors, hormonal disruptions.

Common male genital diseases include, for example, varicocele, prostatitis, adenoma, and erectile dysfunction. Typically female pathologies are uterine fibroids, cervical erosion, menstrual irregularities, polycystic ovaries, colpitis, endometriosis.

Diseases of the reproductive system require a timely and correct response from a man or woman. Dangerous complications will not only lead to infertility, but can also threaten a person's life.
