Aeroflot allowable weight of baggage and carry-on baggage. What are the basic baggage rules for Aeroflot? Conditions of carriage: what can and cannot be carried in hand luggage on the plane? Free transportation conditions

MOSCOW, 22 Feb - RIA Novosti, Svetlana Baeva. Laptop, camera - only in allowed carry-on baggage or in luggage - strict rules for the transportation of personal belongings of Aeroflot again caused active controversy among passengers.

The national carrier has once again clarified the rules for carrying hand luggage on board.

The first is dimensions: no more than 55 centimeters in length, 40 in width, 20 in height. Second, the maximum weight for economy class is 10 kilograms, for business - 15 kilograms.

The parameters should fit both professional equipment, for example, video and photo cameras, and children's umbrellas, which previously could be transported in excess of the norm. About what you can take with you to the cabin of the plane - in the material of RIA Novosti.

Above normal

"In excess of the established norm and without additional payment, you can take in the cabin: a backpack weighing no more than 5 kg and measuring no more than 80 cm in the sum of three dimensions, or a handbag," Aeroflot reports. You can also take a bouquet of flowers, outerwear, a suit in a garment bag for free.

Baby food and baby transfer devices (weighing no more than 7 kg and dimensions no more than 42x50x20 cm) do not fall under the restriction. As well as medicines and supplies necessary for passengers with disabilities (crutches, canes, walkers, rollators, folding wheelchairs). You can also take a package with goods from Duty Free, but only one.

In the case of transporting a musical instrument as carry-on luggage, the carriage of other carry-on luggage (in addition to items transported in excess of the established norm without charging an additional fee) is not allowed.

Aeroflot published information about these rules on its pages in social networks. Facebook , In contact with, and on the official website.

"Knowing the airline's rules will make your trip even more comfortable," writes Aeroflot.

Pass through the cordon

The Travel.ru portal clarified that the list of things "in excess of the established norm and without additional payment" was reduced by three times. Cell phones, laptops, cameras, camcorders, umbrellas, folders for papers and prints for reading in flight have disappeared from it. All this should fit either in 10-15 kg and the proposed dimensions, or in an oversized backpack and handbag.

The portal even writes about the control cordons set up by Aeroflot in the customs control zone at Sheremetyevo: “Employees at these cordons require passengers whose hand luggage even slightly exceeds 55x40x20 centimeters to return and check it in.” By the way, if the baggage allowance has already been exhausted, then such a change will be paid - 2500 rubles in Russia, $ 50 on short-distance international routes and $ 100 on long-distance routes.

To this, the carrier clarified that "it does not introduce additional restrictions and does not change the norms for carrying hand luggage, but only strengthens control over their observance and brings the company's standards in line with the federal aviation rules, which were amended."

"A camera, telephone and other electronic devices," reports the Aeroflot press service, "are accepted for carriage if packed in hand luggage, the quantity, dimensions and weight of which meet the airline's rules."

In case of exceeding the established norms, they are transported according to the general rules for the carriage of checked free and excess baggage in the baggage compartment of the aircraft in special protective cases.

Logic and bureaucracy

In the comments to message passengers recall what it was like: “It’s just that they didn’t check their hand luggage at check-in. Now it’s probably going to be monitored,” says Dmitry Gladyshev.

"The problem is not in the dimensions, everything is fine. The question is that the laptop, the tablet, and the camera, according to the new rules, are INCLUDED in 10 kilograms. Previously, they were over," writes Anastasia Bakhmutova.

The new rules have already come as an unpleasant surprise for many passengers. "Thank you Aeroflot for the innovations," says Anton Gladyshev. "It is clear that the people who drag everything on board got sick and tired, but, for example, our company has a problem with the transportation of television equipment. Our camera with a bag does not pass through dimensions ".

Aeroflot offered the only option - check in luggage. But there, according to the passenger, no one will be responsible for it. "No exceptions were offered. Even if there are six of us, and there are three bags in all of our personal luggage, two of which pass according to the norms," he continues.

“As a result, we take up less space than the average passenger, but even that does not help. Logic and bureaucracy are incompatible!” - this is Anton's conclusion.

The only thing they could offer him was a Fragile ribbon (fragile luggage). However, according to the stories of passengers, it is not a panacea: "The Samsonite suitcase, on which you can sit, arrived cracked," the discussion continues.

A common question of passengers - according to the sum of three dimensions, carry-on baggage passes, but does not fit in size - is this allowed?

“My carry-on baggage didn't fit by two millimeters in size, and I was forced to hand it in. It’s not clear to whom these two millimeters will win the place,” Veronika Andreeva wonders.

Strictly according to the regulations

People who booked tickets on the airline's website on February 21 and 22 claim that there are no declared restrictions on equipment in excess of the norm: “I need to tick the box that I have read and agree with all the terms and conditions. transportation of passengers and baggage (the link leads to the file, and there in the paragraph

It is recommended to carry especially valuable and fragile cargo in carry-on baggage or in the cargo hold in high-quality packaging marked “fragile” or “valuable”. You can familiarize yourself with the rules for the carriage of large and fragile baggage in Aeroflot.
  9. Luggage allowances for adult passengers apply to children if the child travels on a separate ticket in an individual passenger seat. We also suggest that you familiarize yourself with -.

According to Aeroflot's rules, a passenger is entitled to compensation for lost, delayed or damaged baggage during the flight. To receive money for the damage caused, it is necessary to collect a set of documents and write a personal claim. You can read more about this.

Permitted size and weight of baggage

Aeroflot airline allows free transportation of baggage according to local parameters. The number of places for suitcases is regulated by the rules of the tariff plan.

You can take hand luggage up to 10 kg into the aircraft cabin. Limiting dimensions - 55x40x20 cm.

For passengers traveling on Economy Premium tickets, there are two places for general luggage (23 kg for each suitcase) and one place for carry-on luggage (10 kg).

Travelers with economy class tickets who plan to take excess baggage on board must first coordinate this issue with the carrier. If there are free places for loading on the plane, the company will approve the request and calculate the amount to be paid.

Comfort

The following parameters have been set for passengers' luggage: 2 pieces of 23 kg for baggage transported in the cargo hold, and 1 piece for hand luggage weighing up to 10 kg.

Business Class

For travelers flying to, the airline has set maximum baggage allowances. In hand luggage, a passenger can take one bag weighing up to 15 kg. For shared luggage, there are 2 free pieces with a permissible weight of 32 kg for each suitcase.

Extra baggage cost

Passenger baggage is subject to mandatory inspection and weighing before being sent to the cargo hold. If a specialist determines that the norms for weight, dimensions or number of bags are exceeded, the passenger is issued a receipt for payment for excess baggage.

The cost of the surcharge is ambiguous and depends on various parameters that classify baggage as excess, as well as on the direction of the flight.

On international flights

When flying on international flights, you will have to pay 3325-6650 rubles for the second additional piece of baggage. For the third place - 9,975-13,300 rubles (the cost depends on the specific direction).

For excess baggage carried at a rate of up to 23 kg, the tariff is 6650-8315 rubles. For this surcharge, a passenger can carry a suitcase weighing up to 32 kg. If the weight of the baggage is 32-50 kg, payment is made at a different rate - 9975-13 300 rubles.

The specific amount to be paid will be announced by the specialist who accepts luggage at the airport.

Across Russia

When flying in Russia, travelers also have to pay extra for excess baggage.

Rates for excess baggage on domestic routes:

  • for one additional place in the aircraft cargo hold - 2500 rubles;
  • for the third and subsequent places - 7500 rubles;
  • for exceeding the weight norms within 32 kg - 2500 rubles, for baggage weighing 32-50 kg - 5000 rubles;
  • for exceeding dimensions up to 203 cm - 5000 rubles, over this parameter - 7500 rubles.

Baggage designations on an Aeroflot ticket

Aeroflot air tickets contain many Latin letters and numeric symbols that contain important information for the passenger.

You can determine the allowance for free baggage on the plane by carefully examining the purchased ticket. The local parameter is determined by Latin letters - P / PC / N, next to it there will be a number - 1 or 2. For example, P1 - one place for free transportation of personal belongings, P2 - two free places in the cargo hold are reserved for the passenger's luggage.

When planning to take excess baggage on air travel, coordinate this issue with the carrier in advance so that during pre-flight procedures you will not have any difficulties with the registration of excess cargo that is not provided for in the tariff plan.

Baggage rules Aeroflot was forced to change. At the same time, these changes were only for the benefit of passengers. The fact is that before that, the airline's norms did not allow summing up the baggage carried. Thus, for example, a family of two with one overweight suitcase for one person had to pay extra or share things. And this was contrary to the Federal Aviation Regulations. The transport prosecutor's office of Moscow decided to intercede for passengers and the law, which successfully protested the actions Aeroflot.

Now the rules for the carriage of baggage on Aeroflot aircraft have become fully compliant with the law, and passengers flying together can add their luggage.

    Hello friends. Big news today. After November 5, 2017, new rules for the carriage of baggage and hand luggage on flights of Russian airlines come into force. If earlier each carrier had its own requirements, now the rules will be the same for all Russian airlines (except for the low-cost airline Pobeda).

    Attention! Once again: the law is only for Russian airlines. All other airlines have their own rules in accordance with the laws of their state.

    The rules to which airlines and we, passengers of aircraft are subject, are called "General rules for air transportation of passengers, baggage, cargo and requirements for servicing passengers, consignors, consignees." They were adopted on June 28, 2007 by order of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation. Since then, the rules have been amended. But the norms were very different and vague. For some carriers, they were generally too tough.

    On October 5, 2017, a new law No. 409 was issued on amending the document. The changes affect everyone who uses air transport, i.e. and you and me.

    It is clear that there are many interesting details in the law, which we will not talk about. Today we will tell you about the most important thing, about what everyone who wants to take advantage of a flight with the help of a Russian airline will face.

    Let's agree on terms

    1. Baggage - suitcases, bags or boxes that we weigh at check-in and check in as baggage.
    2. Carry-on luggage - things put in a bag, briefcase, backpack or a bag that we take with us into the aircraft cabin and on which a “carry-on” tag was hung.
    3. Things that we take on the plane and that didn't have a tag. (Laptops, cameras, gadgets, clothes, flowers, baby food, crutches, walking sticks, etc.)

    There are many interesting details in the law, which we will not talk about. And we will tell you only about the most important thing, about what an ordinary tourist who wants to take advantage of a flight with the help of a Russian airline will face.

    The law comes into force on November 5, 2017. This means that everyone who buys air tickets after November 5 is subject to these amendments.

    Those who have already bought tickets in advance (before November 5) are not covered by the law. So it is written in the same rules.

    The most important thing about the new flight rules

    General requirements that are important to us as travelers relate to baggage allowance and the carriage of things in the aircraft cabin. Let's try to lucidly explain these rules so that you don't have any questions, and understand what pluses and minuses we have.

    Baggage requirements

    Earlier: the maximum weight of one piece of baggage was not to exceed 32 kg.

    Now: a new requirement has been introduced - the weight norm of 1 piece of baggage is 30 kg for all air carriers. Less is possible, more is impossible.

    1 piece of luggage is one suitcase. If you rent a large backpack, then this is 1 backpack, if you are a bag, then this is 1 bag.

    But! This does not mean that now you can take 30 kg of luggage with any ticket. There is an important point here, it depends on the fare you bought. Simply put, an economy class ticket has fewer options than those who took, for example, a business class ticket.

    All baggage can be broken down by weight:

    • Up to 10 kg, from 10 kg to 30 kg, over 30 kg
    • Luggage up to 10 kg - free

    Previously, the weight allowance for free baggage was different for different companies, now it is the same for everyone.

    This means that no company can write in its rules: "It is allowed to carry baggage weighing no more than 3 kg (or 6 kg or 7 kg)." The norm is 10 kg for everyone! You yourself are not obliged to gain exactly 10 kg, you can take less, at your discretion, but the company cannot set you a lower limit on the weight of your luggage.

    Baggage weighing from 10 to 30 kg

    There are some nuances here. As before, you need to go to the carrier's website and read its rules - how much weight should your baggage be in accordance with the fare of your ticket. This means that “the upper limit can be 23 kg, 25, 27 to 30 kg. the scales showed more of your suitcase at the registration, then you either need to take out something and leave it, or pay extra for the excess.

    Excess baggage

    Baggage that is not included in your fare ticket is considered excess baggage.

    Example: you bought a ticket Moscow-Vladivostok tariff "Economy flexible". The ticket price includes baggage up to 23 kg. If your baggage weighs more than 23 kg, but does not exceed 30 kg, then this weight is considered overweight and you will have to pay extra for it.

    Find out how much it will cost on the airline's website.

    Baggage weighing 30 kg

    Usually, this amount can be carried free of charge by a passenger who has bought a business class ticket. At this rate, the passenger has more options.

    Baggage over 30 kg - Heavy luggage

    Anything over 30 kg and not suitable for standard dimensions is considered a heavy load. The surcharge for each kilogram is subject to a special “heavy load” tariff. Each company has its own tariffs. Read the rules on the company's website (section "Baggage allowance"). This information is required.

    Perhaps this is the main thing.

    Bagless ticket

    I will add that many companies still have baggage-free tariffs. This is when you do not take luggage at all and fly only with hand luggage. Tickets for it are cheap, but there are inconvenient nuances. The main one is that such a ticket is non-refundable.

    Joint baggage

    There was also an opportunity to combine the belongings of two or more travelers into one luggage (put all things in one suitcase - 1 luggage space). The weight of such baggage should also not exceed the same 30 kg.

    What are the pros and cons have appeared in connection with the introduction of the amendments?

    Pros: There were standards for everyone. The main one is that you can take free baggage weighing up to 10 kg. Here the rate has increased and we feel better.

    Minuses: limiting the weight of baggage to the maximum: instead of 32 kg, you can now take baggage weighing no more than 30 kg

    Friends, now we are in Telegram: our channel about Europe, our channel about Asia... Welcome)

    Carry-on baggage - new standards

    Earlier: different air carriers had their own requirements. For example, for some: you can take no more than 3 kg in hand luggage, for others - no more than 4, for others - no more than 5 kg, and for some up to 10 kg.

    Now: The allowance for hand luggage for all passengers is at least 5 kg per passenger. For us, this means: we can take less than 5 kg, but carry-on baggage is prohibited above this weight. At the same time, the carrier can change this figure upwards at its own discretion. Those. you still need to read the rules, because some companies can deliver as a limit of 6, 7 kg per person or even 10 kg, which, of course, will please us.

    Also, remember the dimensions! Those. your carry-on baggage must fit not only in terms of weight, but also in size (length, width, height). Dimensions norms, as before, need to be found on the carrier's website. There are no changes here.

    Earlier: we could check in our carry-on baggage, plus we could bring laptops, cameras and cameras with us on the plane for free.

    Now: all this is included in the carry-on baggage.

    In other words, you cannot carry separately:

    • telephones;
    • laptops;
    • cameras;
    • documents in folders;

    We'll have to put them in bags. Their weight is also taken into account when calculating the weight of carry-on baggage.

    Is the laptop in your bag or suitcase? You don't need to pay anything extra. Do you want to carry it separately? You owe it.

    If earlier carry-on baggage was weighed only at check-in, now it can be weighed before boarding itself (apparently in cases where the bag is suspicious). This is important for those who took few things with them, checked them out as hand luggage, and bought “bagless” tickets.

    Attention! Your carry-on baggage can also be weighed at the port of arrival!

    Minuses of this innovation: now, even at home, you will have to carefully weigh your carry-on baggage and make sure that there is no overweight.

    Pros: The aircraft cabin will be less busy. All your carry-on luggage will go into the luggage compartment in the aircraft cabin and you don't have to worry if there is enough shelf space for your belongings or not.

    Updated 02.19. 2018: Due to the increasing frequency of passenger complaints about the lack of space for storing carry-on luggage in the aircraft cabin, Aeroflot tightened control over the carriage of carry-on luggage. You can read about it here.

    What things can be taken into the aircraft cabin and not checked in as carry-on luggage

    Both before and now you can take with you the things you need during the flight or immediately after landing. They are not checked in as carry-on baggage and do not require additional payment.

    Here is a list of them. The list will be supplemented, but they will definitely not be able to cut it:

    • handbag, knapsack, briefcase;
    • bouquet of flowers;
    • your clothes (jacket, coat); If we fly from a country where +27 degrees in our winter, where -27. Or, on the contrary, such an additional package with things is very relevant.
    • special children's food; But no more than is necessary for the flight.
    • specially packaged suit;
    • cane or crutch;
    • baby stroller or carrycot, which, when folded, fits under the seat in front of the chair;
    • a walker that, when folded, fits under the seat in front of the chair;
    • a medical chair for those who find it difficult to move.

    Familiar positions? They were allowed for free transportation before. Now the list has been expanded:

    • sealed package from dutyfree;
    • medicines, everything necessary for medical reasons for the passenger.

    And again, what is now forbidden to carry separately:

    • telephone, laptop;
    • an umbrella, even a small one;
    • paper in a folder;
    • newspapers, books, magazines;
    • camera, camera.

    What are the pros and cons of all this?

    Pros: the minimum allowance for the weight of hand luggage has increased - 5 kg.

    Minuses: The maximum carry-on baggage requirements have been reduced from 10 kg to 5 kg. Laptops, cameras, documents will have to be considered as carry-on luggage.

    I think we'll get used to the new norms and come up with something. Other countries already have experience, you can use their life hacks.

    Video - How the Scots put things in a special vest

    There are people who figure out how to carry more things on the plane and not pay for it. One of the options is a vest for an air passenger. Interesting idea.

    Common questions

    What happens if I refuse to pay?

    Refusing to pay for something that can no longer be transported for free? For example, a laptop. It's simple - you may not be allowed on board. You will, of course, be told about this. And they'll give you a second chance to pay. But, we do not advise you to risk it - you will simply have your ticket canceled if you insist.

    We paid more than you are lucky. What to do?

    Only if there is an overpayment for the number of seats, the money will be returned to you. If you paid for 2 seats, and used only one, you will be refunded.

    Carry-on baggage weighs more than allowed. Is there a surcharge?

    No! This is the issue of passenger safety. If it does not fit in terms of weight and dimensions, they will not be allowed to carry it with you.

    If the carrier does not follow the new rules

    These innovations are relevant for everyone. If you see that they are being violated, you can contact Rospotrebnadzor. To do this, you need to keep all the tickets and receipts that you receive. Don't pay extra without a check! You can get compensation, and the carrier will be fined.

    The rules have changed, perhaps something has become less convenient for us. But, if you think about it, you can find the right "luggage combination"!

    This is perhaps all of the main thing. If you still have questions regarding the nuances (oversized cargo, luggage consolidation, refund, etc.), we highly recommend that you familiarize yourself with the rules(study changes in the order "General rules for air transportation of passengers, baggage, cargo and requirements for servicing passengers, consignors, consignees") and deal with your specific case. There are a lot of errors and misleading information on the websites and even in the video of the CT. Use the original!

    Our "Victory"

    Pobeda Airlines is a subsidiary of Aeroflot and positions itself as low-cost.

    On the territory of Russia, today, this is the only low-cost company, so its requirements are slightly different towards minimalism.

    Proceed from the fact that the essence of low-cost is to reduce the price for a ticket as much as possible, i.e. to make it cheap, then the rules of Victory will become clearer to you.

    Low-cost airlines (from the English "low-cost" (low-cost) - low costs) - a type of airlines that operate on an unconventional transportation model, involving the provision of very cheap air tickets.
