I have long wanted to cook caramelized apples on a stick for my daughter: both tasty and healthy! To make the delicacy look more elegant in plates, choose small fruits and remember that caramel is stringy, and therefore, it will still reach for an apple. But if you want to get a shiny top sweet layer on the dessert, then cook not caramel, but ordinary sugar syrup, without bringing it to a color change. You can add any dyes to such a syrup: red, green, blue and your apples will become multi-colored. With the preparation of a dish for this dessert, your apples will be rosy, caramel!

I recommend choosing sour or sweet-sour fruits so that when you combine them with sweet-salty caramel, there is an explosion of taste in your mouth. My apples tasted like pineapples - something incredible!

So, let's prepare all the ingredients and start cooking!

First of all, we rinse the apples in water and thoroughly blot them with a waffle or paper towel, getting rid of moisture, since the caramel will not stick to a wet surface!

We pierce each fruit with a wooden kebab skewer. You can also use wooden ice cream sticks.

Pour granulated sugar, salt into a cauldron or saucepan, add lemon juice or citric acid and water. Place the container on the stove and bring the contents to a boil. Lemon juice is an important ingredient, it prevents sugar crystallization, and you can be sure that your syrup will turn out exactly as you envisioned it. As soon as the syrup bubbles change their color to brownish, remove the container from the heat.

Pour in the cream and stir immediately, making sure that it is properly mixed into the syrup.

While the caramel is hot, we will dip the apples on skewers in it and put them on a stand so that the excess caramel drips off. Let us do this with all the fruits. Once we're done, start again with the first apple, dipping it in the caramel a second time. So to speak, we will apply the second layer, etc., until our sweet and salty sauce is finished. Take out the dessert in the cold for about 20-25 minutes.

As soon as the caramel hardens, becoming slightly stringy, move the apples to a dish or plate.

Serve apples in caramel on a stick for dessert. If you wish, you can sprinkle the caramel with almond or nut crumbs, grated chocolate, colored sprinkles - it all depends on your imagination!
