How to make a transforming cube "rose" from paper. Master Class. Video / DIY toys, patterns, video, MK

Every time you see these wonderful transformations, you experience admiration, surprise and bewilderment at the same time. How?! How is this possible? What genius could come up with this? I can’t believe that all these folding and unfolding magic cubes, snakes, transformers were invented by man. What kind of spatial imagination should a designer have in order to imagine all the projections of a toy, analyze possible folding forms and make a transformable cube out of paper.

Making a rose cube

To make this magical flower you will not need anything other than colored paper. Even glue or tape can safely remain on its shelf. Prepare three red paper squares and three green ones measuring 15x15 cm. You can make the sheets of any size, but they must be square and the same. And you can choose any color, the one you like best, or which is available. Tip: When folding a magic flower for the first time, use a pencil and a ruler. You probably noticed that the first stage of work does not consist of folding the structure directly, but of marking the lines along which the paper will then be wrapped. Before forming the segment, lightly draw along the ruler with a pencil the lines that you obtained during preliminary folding. This will help you not to get confused in the actions later. The most difficult thing begins when you start trying to move from a plane into three-dimensional space, to give the figure volume. This moment will come when you dock the third green segment to the already connected two. You will need to bend the corner of the segment so that it fits into the slot, and make a three-dimensional figure, the floor of the box. Don't be afraid to wrinkle the corner. The main thing then is to straighten it in the groove. Exactly the same moment occurs in the design of the bud itself. After you have managed to do all the operations correctly, connect the modules and fold the bud, the fun begins. The newly born magical origami rose cube turns into an ordinary cube! If you find the scheme for performing this origami difficult, try making the cube and the flower separately.

Just a rose

This beautiful rose will never fall apart into modules, because it is folded from one large whole sheet of colored paper. It turns out, of course, very beautiful, lush and voluminous, but it does not have the intrigue and surprise that is in the first magical flower. And the work of creating it at some points may seem more difficult and confusing. This is where the tip of using a pencil and ruler can come in handy. Just don't press too hard.

Just a cube

From one flat sheet of paper you can make one three-dimensional cube. The video shows the whole scheme of his birth. Please note that a square cut from an A4 piece of paper produces a rather small cube. Therefore, for the rose that you have already made from a 20x20 square, you will need to take a slightly larger piece of paper for the cube. All children really like the end of this master class, when the folded flat craft needs to be inflated like a balloon. Tip: Don’t blow too hard. It has been noticed that for beginners, every second cube from strong blowing turns back into a flat leaf.

A hexahedron or cube is a polyhedron whose sides are all squares. Do you like riddles and puzzles? This article will teach you how to make a cube out of paper or cardboard. Let's consider such unusual products as the Yoshimoto cube and the transforming cube.

From the scan

Developments are called diagrams that allow you to make a three-dimensional figure from paper or cardboard. First, let's learn how to build a sweep. To make it you need paper, pencil, ruler and scissors.

All sides of the cube are squares. So, first you need to draw a square on a piece of paper. At the same time, do not forget about the rules of geometry - a square has all sides equal, and the angles are 90°. Next, let’s remember how many faces the cube has – six. That is, there should also be six of them in the gluing diagram. Draw four squares around the central square. Where should I put another one? Just draw it on the side of one of the squares. The edges are in place, there are not enough allowances for gluing. They need to be drawn on three side squares. They are 0.5-1 cm.

Do not forget to cut their corners at an angle of 45°, so they will not interfere when gluing the figure.

The scan is ready! This is what you should get:

Now you need to arm yourself with scissors and glue and assemble the figure. Cut out the development using scissors. Next, you need to bend all the edges of the cube, as well as the allowances. Lubricate the edges with glue and connect the cube together. Volumetric paper cube is ready!

Origami cube

The origami technique is very ancient. Its appearance is associated with the production of paper in Ancient China. The Japanese adopted its secret, and it was there that the art of origami originated. Previously, figures made of paper had a sacred meaning. They decorated temples, wedding and funeral ceremonies. The Japanese believed that hanging balls folded using the origami technique above the patient's head would help ward off illness and evil spirits. Later this art began to be not only religious, but also entertaining.

Most origami patterns date back to ancient times, but modern masters have also made a significant contribution to the development of this unusual type of creativity. We invite you to try folding a cube using the origami technique. To do this, you need to take a square sheet of paper and make a fold in the center, and then bend the edges towards the middle. This initial figure is called a door.

Fold the edges toward the center and tuck the top and bottom corners into the pockets:

Turn the workpiece over and bend along the lines indicated in the diagram:

The result is a module. To collect a cube of such modules you need six. Each part has pockets; it is into them that neighboring modules are inserted. Connect the parts according to the diagram:

The origami cube is ready. For beauty, you can make each side from paper of different colors.

Unusual puzzle

Do you want to please your beloved children with an unusual puzzle or make an unforgettable photo album? Then a short master class on creating a transforming cube will be useful to you. On each side of such a cube you can place a picture or photograph, and inside there are as many as six more pictures.

To make such a cube you will need:

  • 12 pictures or photographs;
  • Glue;
  • 8 cubes with 4 cm sides;
  • Scotch.

You can take the most ordinary children’s cubes or glue them yourself using this pattern:

First, look at the places where the cubes are attached:

It is important to understand! The whole secret of transformations of such a puzzle is in the correct gluing of pairs of cubes.

To make it more clear, let's look at this process step by step. First, glue two pairs of cubes together as shown by the yellow stripes in the diagram:

Place these four cubes side by side and glue them together in the places indicated in blue:

Place the cubes as shown in the diagram. In this case, the yellow glue will be on the side opposite the red one. Glue along the red lines:

The photo must be placed on the four cubes. The size of the photographs is 8 by 8 cm.

It is important to glue the photo carefully, especially if you do it with glue. Otherwise, you can inadvertently glue together those edges that are responsible for the correct transformation of the puzzle. So it's better to use hot glue or double-sided tape.

An unusual photo album from a transforming cube is ready! You can see in the photo how you can lay it out and view pictures.

The art of folding paper crafts without using scissors and glue is called origami. It came to us from Japan and quickly gained popularity. The technique of folding paper figures can be learned by both adults and young children. The most popular is the origami paper rose.

The popularity of the paper rose is associated with the widespread love for this flower. With a similar craft, you can decorate a postcard or photo frame, or make a beautiful colorful panel that will give you a good mood in the cold winter. • Office, corrugated, crepe, colored or white paper. The main requirement is the ability to keep its shape and not tear when bent.
  • Schemes (for classic origami).
  • When working in pattern technology, use ready-made diagrams and printed drawings. It is best if these drawings are printed on a color printer.
  • Pencil, scissors, PVA glue to secure the product. Wire for twigs or dry tree branches.

First models

The simplest model is a rose made using the paper rolling technique. A beautiful flower is made quickly, even a small child can assemble this craft. Let's look at how to make a rose step by step.

Step one.

Fold the corrugated paper into several layers.

Step two.

Cut off two corners on one side of the resulting ribbon. Make a cut in the shape of a petal.

Step three.

The resulting blank can be screwed onto a pencil or twisted by hand.

Step four.

Secure the rosette at the base with tape or glue.

Origami paper rose is one of the most popular crafts all over the world. It is done quickly according to the presented scheme:

Take a standard A4 sheet of paper. Cut into even strips. The width of the strip depends on the desired size of the rose. Usually, paper 1 - 1.5 cm wide is taken. Paper strips must be folded diagonally. You can create several roses from one sheet. Decorate the finished flower with rhinestones or glitter varnish.

The resulting flowers can decorate a gift box, or you can make a beautiful bouquet if the buds are connected with wire wrapped in green paper.

Origami paper rose for beginners and patterns are widely presented in a variety of master classes. The technique of folding according to a pattern, that is, a ready-made drawing, is very convenient for getting acquainted with origami. For those who are just mastering paper crafts, folding according to a pattern will help to correctly assemble the desired figure and instill the skills of folding a paper product.

Available rose models

After mastering paper rose origami step by step, novice craftswomen move on to more complex schemes for creating everyone’s favorite flower. Fresh flowers, unfortunately, are short-lived. To add individuality to the interior, they often resort to decorating with paper and flower arrangements. Such compositions look beautiful.

Creating beautiful crafts with your own hands is not only a useful leisure activity, but also an expression of creativity. The origami rose ranks first in popularity among handmade paper flowers. The colorful flowers are fairly easy to make if you follow the step-by-step instructions. The result of the work is visible after a short period of time.

The colors of roses have always impressed with their diversity, so you can use any color for crafts. Most often, paper leaves measuring 10 x 10 cm are used for roses. The result is a medium-sized flower.

You can assemble the following rose model in about 10 minutes, following the diagram:

  1. The square sheet is folded in half. Fold the resulting rectangle in half.
  2. Carefully open the upper side of the resulting square from left to right to form a triangle. Turn the workpiece over and repeat all the steps on the reverse side. There should be a triangle of workpiece in front of you.
  3. In the resulting triangle, fold the lower corners of the upper part of the workpiece towards the center line. You've got small triangles. Open them so that a square comes out.
  4. Turn the workpiece over.
  5. Bend the lower sides of the upper triangle symmetrically towards the center line.
  6. Bend the resulting upper corner towards the center point of the bottom line of the triangle, straightening it.

Now carefully follow the presented schematic instructions:

Do not take thick paper for the first attempt; it is better to take soft corrugated paper or a set of colored school paper. Until you learn how to tightly fix the folds of the craft, soft material is best suited for creativity.

The rosette is assembled according to the pattern according to the finished drawing, where the fold lines are specially marked. Solid lines are the fold of the valley, broken lines are the folds of the mountain. Print the finished diagram on a color printer or transfer it to colored paper using tracing paper.

Here is a step-by-step collection of roses using a pattern.

Step one.

Fold the diagram like an accordion, fix the lines, and then unfold the sheet.

Step two.

Fold the triangles inward along the marked lines.

Step three.

Along the folds of the mountain, the triangles must be folded down.

Step four.

Fold rows of triangles along the auxiliary lines until you have collected all the triangles.

Step five.

After the entire paper figure has been assembled, carefully open the resulting triangles using a pencil or scissors.

As a result, you will create a magnificent flower:

Rose - cube

The most unusual origami rose model. The rosette can be transformed into a cube or the cube can be transformed into a beautiful flower. A very beautiful original gift. For the craft, you need to prepare 3 square sheets of green and red flowers. The flower may be pink or yellow. This cube looks beautiful with the contrast of colors.

Usually it takes about 30 minutes to create such a gift transformer. For those who are trying to make such a craft for the first time, the main thing is to understand the scheme for creating a rose-cube. Speed will come after several assembled products. If you follow the assembly rules, you will get an excellent cube rose.

This craft is assembled from six separate modules: 3 green and 3 red. To work, you need sheets measuring 10 x 10 cm. First, we assemble the modules.

Step one.

The square sheet is folded in the middle. A line is formed. Unfold the sheet. We bend the opposite edges of the sheet towards the middle and again form a line. You will end up with something like this:

Step two.

We form new fold lines. Fold the lower right corner up to the top fold line. We do the same with the opposite corner of the sheet.

Step three.

Fold the right corner underneath, aligning the edge of the sheet with the visible vertical fold. Fold one fold to the right. Following the fold line, align the bottom of the corner.

Step four.

Turn the workpiece over. Do the same operations with the opposite direction angle.

Step five.

Turn the workpiece over again and bend the corners of the module.

Step six.

We form a square by bending the corners on both sides.

Make 2 more modules this way. Set the finished 3 red cube blanks aside.

  • Take green leaves. We repeat steps 1 to 5 inclusive without changes.
  • We bend the upper corner on the right as in the picture.
  • Turn the workpiece, then bend the corner in the same order as in the red workpiece.
  • The modules have holes where you need to insert a long corner. First, we assemble 3 modules of the same color, then the second, after which we connect the two halves of the cube.
  • To turn a neat little cube into a rose, you need to follow these steps: pull out the short green corners and unfold them. This is how rose petals are made.
  • To form a rose bud, pull out the bottom corner from the fold on three sides. The upper corners extended in the same way will add splendor and volume to the rose.

The wonderful kusudama ball made of individual modules also belongs to easy origami models. This craft is made from many simple origami roses fastened together. Many craftswomen love such products for the opportunity to show their imagination, surprise others, and decorate the interior of their home.

To assemble the modules, in addition to paper, you will need glue and 6 paper sheets. Modules can be the same color or can be combined from 2-3 harmonious shades. A kusudama ball is assembled from several roses. The flowers are carefully glued together with side leaves. Such a ball can be hung on a Christmas tree or decorated with several flower balls in a children's room.

Rose Kawasaki

A beautiful classic Kawasaki rose is assembled by experienced craftsmen without any diagrams. For beginning craftswomen, this flower is quite complicated, but the resulting result will justify the time spent.

The most difficult thing when creating this product is the formation of folds. You can find ready-made drawings and assemble a flower according to a pattern, however, many people prefer to make this model themselves. Before you start working, you need to familiarize yourself with several master classes and watch video tutorials that show you step by step the process of creating a delightful beauty.

Be sure to familiarize yourself with the folding technique. Try to form mountain folds and valley folds on separate sheets. This skill is very useful in creative origami works.

The Kawasaki rose is the closest thing to a real living flower.

This is an origami rose, which is also a transforming cube. She turns from a rose to a cube and back again. That's what I like about it - the surprise focus. It's actually not as difficult to do as it may seem! Three modules of different colors stack with a bang. It is a little troublesome to assemble, pushing the corners into the grooves. It's just a little difficult to straighten the petals.

We take paper. I have note paper - it is less dense, it is better to cut out squares from office paper - they are more elastic and dense. You need three squares of each two colors. My size is 9 x 9 cm.

Fold in half.

And each half is also halved towards the central fold.

Unfold it and get three folds.

Fold the upper right corner to the first fold on the left.

Ironing.

We do the same with the lower right corner, for which, for convenience, we rotate the workpiece so that it becomes the upper right. And we will repeat.

We got two more diagonals.

Fold the lower left corner, aligning the cut of the sheet with the intended right vertical fold, smooth the fold until it intersects with the intended left vertical fold.

We combine the top cut, press it with a finger and fill the resulting pocket as in the next photo.

Like this. Turn the part upside down.

We repeat the same with the lower left corner, only it must be slipped under the bottom of the corner made, as in the photo, with your index finger.

We iron (with our thumb) the fold until it intersects with the right vertical one, as we have already done.

We do the same as

and we get the same fold as we already did.

Turn the workpiece over.

We bend the corners.

We bend the lower right corner and the upper left one too.

We get squares with such corners.

We add the green squares in the same way up to this point.

Fold the small bottom right corner.

We bend the resulting corner upward.

Rotate the workpiece 180 degrees and repeat the same with the lower left corner.

It turns out like the pink ones, only one corner is turned up.

Fold a small corner underneath.

Turn the workpiece over. Bend the top corner like the pink ones and the bottom small corner.

It turns out like this.

Let's connect. We hold the first (left) part with the small corner up, the longer corner at the bottom. We insert the second (right) part with a longer corner into the groove.

We insert the third part with the longer corner into the groove of the second, and the long corner of the first into the groove of the third.

In general, it is easier to assemble than to describe.

Pay attention to the diagonal slots on all three parts - they form a triangle.

We collect pink ones. Again, long corners into grooves. Focus on the slits on the parts - they are clearly visible in the photo, but the corners themselves are worse.

The slots radiate from the top.

Let's connect. We insert the pink long corners into the grooves on the green ones. The green crusty corners do not need to be inserted into the grooves of the pink ones.

This is what happens.

We open the green ones.

The hardest part is opening the petals. At first I even thought that I had assembled it wrong. They hold very tightly and do not immediately pull out. I had to use something sharp.

For example, using scissors to pry and pull a petal. At first it’s a little tight to pull out, and the paper tore a little (mine is fragile).

First, we pull it a little and try to open it slightly like a pocket. Try in all directions. In one direction it suddenly opened freely for me.

When all the petals are stretched out from below, slightly straighten the center of the bud.

You see, it looks like three arched petals on each side. Ready! If the paper is elastic, all the petals are wrapped back into the grooves, the sepals (green triangles) are folded down to their original position and you get a cube with three pink and three green sides. I think it’s better to give as a gift in the form of a cube, and then unfold it into a ROSE before your eyes!!!
