Papier-mâché balloon. Master Class. DIY New Year's balloon using papier-mâché technique. Master class with step-by-step photos How to make a ball out of papier mache paper

How to make a real papier-mâché balloon with your own hands so that it can then fly? What is required for such a craft, how complicated is the process? In reality, most products of this type do not require a long time or special knowledge.

Thanks to the detailed master class, any beginner can handle it. But the finished craft will amaze everyone around you. You can make bright colorful balls, put them in baskets or paint them to make laughing faces. Whatever you want, you are limited only by your imagination.

Step-by-step master class

To make a papier-mâché ball into an inflatable balloon, you will need the following materials:

  • a stack of unnecessary newspapers;
  • liquid paste;
  • ordinary rubber ball;
  • several brushes.

Detailed instructions:

  1. Prepare the paste by diluting it in some unnecessary container of decent size.
  2. Tear the newspaper sheets into strips 2.5 cm wide each.
  3. Inflate the balloon, making sure that it does not exceed the dimensions of the finished craft.
  4. Carefully cover the finished ball with paper strips previously soaked in paste.
  5. Important: after wetting the paper, immediately remove all excess liquid by rubbing it with your fingers. This should be done in advance, before gluing.
  6. When gluing the strips, carefully straighten the folds with your fingertips. It is more convenient to do this with a brush. Proceed step by step, then the toy ball will turn out beautiful and smooth.
  7. When finished, leave the product to dry. Now carefully pierce the ball inside the newspaper strips and remove it through the small remaining hole at the bottom (this must be left in advance, even before gluing the newspaper).

If you need a white ball, simply paint the dried workpiece with paint of the required color.

Globe or moon made of papier-mâché

How to make a ball - a planet from papier-mâché? I want to create something special. For example, planet Earth or the Moon. Here the basic principle of making a ball will remain unchanged.

Step-by-step instruction:

  1. Make a newspaper ball, trying to make it as smooth as possible (without wrinkles) and medium in size. Inflate a regular rubber ball, then gradually cover it with strips of newspaper soaked in glue. Wait until the product is dry, then deflate the balloon. The preparatory part is finished.
  2. Now for the example you will need a real globe. It is more convenient than flat pictures. To make the globe look as realistic as possible, you need to redraw the outlines of the continents, individual islands and oceans of the Earth onto a finished paper ball. To do this, arm yourself with acrylic paints.
  3. Is it convenient to color a newspaper or is it worth additionally covering the top of the ball with white paper? You can paint it first with white paint and then apply the outline of the Earth onto it. Or cover it with A4 paper, cutting it into strips as well. The technology seems more complicated, but in practice everyone can cope, even beginners.

In this way, you can create any planet from the solar system and then hang them together, creating a composition. It is important to maintain the dimensions, remembering that Jupiter is large, Mars is small, and Earth is medium.

Balloon with basket - master class

Here you can choose the manufacturing technique.

Option number 1. Beautiful ball. If you need to create a craft quickly, then look for a beautiful small colored ball. Preferably round in shape. Weave it from a thick thread or take a ready-made mesh. Make sure that the ball fits comfortably inside and that the edges of the mesh remain free. Trim carefully if necessary.

Creating a cart. You can cut it from a regular plastic cup and paste it on the outside. Or glue it from a sheet of cardboard. If you have a ready-made basket, even better. Tie it using the loose ends of the threads to the ball. Ready.

Option No. 2. Volumetric balloon with a fabric basket. A great New Year's surprise that even a child can make if given some prompting.

Required:

  • unnecessary newspapers;
  • ordinary rubber ball;
  • diluted paste;
  • brush;
  • pieces of multi-colored fabric (preferably one type);
  • cardboard;
  • a ball of rope or braid.

Step-by-step instructions:

Such a papier-mâché balloon will turn out beautiful, large and can then be hung from the ceiling.

  1. Making a paper (newspaper) ball. Following the instructions described above, inflate the ball, then sequentially cover it with thin strips of newspaper, dipping them into the paste. Do not tape the space below, around the tail. Leave a hole.
  2. While the workpiece is drying, you can make a basket. To do this, take cardboard and glue a small basket step by step, focusing on the ball.
  3. Carefully make 4 small identical holes in the top of the finished basket. Make sure they are symmetrical.
  4. Decoupage ball. It has dried, now deflate and remove the rubber base (inflated ball). Cover it with strips of fabric/colored paper (whichever is preferable). Carefully make 2 holes on top, placing them close. The papier-mâché ball is ready.
  5. Measure 2 pieces of rope. You take one, put the tip through one of those holes at the top of the ball, then pull it out through the second. Center so that two identical ends hang down. Tie them by securing them in two opposite holes in the basket. Do the same with the second remaining rope. Tie the ends alternately to two of the four holes (see picture).
  6. At the top of the children's toy you can make an additional loop through which it can then be hung from the ceiling.

The creativity will be completed with a small doll or man with Lego, ready to fly.

Balloon - Smesharik made of papier mache

It's easy to do. To create a cute Smesharik you will need:

  • dye;
  • several brushes;
  • sheet of cardboard;
  • scissors;
  • finished picture.

The first step is to make a regular paper ball, pasting it with newspaper strips. Then, when it dries, decorate the product by painting it like a Smesharik. Draw a smiling face in front, and attach the missing parts like ears, arms and legs separately.

Cut them out of a sheet of cardboard or “blind” them using a napkin soaked in glue. Some people take plasticine. The paper ball is quite dense, so you can attach various parts without fear of its destruction.

DIY papier-mâché balls

Base ball for DIY crafts. Photo

If you're all about creating with your own hands, why not make a craft ball base. These papier-mâché balls can be used to create Christmas tree balls, decorating them with newspaper tubes, or used to create a tree.

To create a papier-mâché base ball you will need:

A round base, for example, a foam ball or a ball of the desired diameter,

Newspapers + PVA glue

Polyethylene,

Stationery knife

Masking tape

To create a Christmas tree decoration: golden paint, hot glue, bows and ribbon

Papier-mâché balls step by step:

First, take a foam ball and wrap it in plastic wrap.

Tear the newspaper into small pieces, dip them in glue and begin gluing them one by one to the ball, overlapping each other. Apply the first layer without using glue (newspaper + water). This will make it easier to remove it from the base. You need to make several layers of newspaper, then wait until they are completely dry.

After the ball has completely dried, you need to make a cut using a stationery knife and pull out the foam base.

Crumple newspapers and fill the ball with them. The joints must be sealed with masking tape. On top you need to put a few more layers of pieces of newspaper dipped in PVA glue. Leave the ball to dry completely.

The papier-mâché ball base is ready! All you have to do is decide what you will use it for.

You can make a Christmas tree toy out of it, for which you will need to decorate it with something. For example, you can twist tubes from newspapers, which are usually used for weaving baskets.

Screw the tube onto a pencil and glue it to the ball using hot glue. Continue twisting the ball, building up tubes. Paint with gold spray paint and top with varnish.

Decorate the finished ball at your discretion with ribbons, ribbon and bows.

New Year's ball – papier-mâché(For decoration groups)

To make these balls, to you will be needed:

Material:

newsprint, thin white paper, a balloon (thick, water, paste, a set of colored paper, colored foil (you can use candy), scissors, thread, a set of colored paper, foil.

Move work:

We tear the white paper into strips, and then into squares (about 2x2, if the pieces of paper are large, then gluing is not very convenient. Place the torn paper in a container.

We do the same with newsprint, put it in another container (for comfort).

We inflate the balloon to the size you need, tie it very well so that it does not deflate.

We place the ball on a stand (you can put it on a glass, you can glue it hanging, as is convenient for you.

We put pieces of newsprint in water, you can dip one piece at a time and put it on the ball, try not to make gaps. The entire ball was covered with paper, creating the first layer.

On the first layer we will apply a second layer, only on the paste and white pieces, then again a layer of newspaper, alternate, and glue everything onto the paste (I glue about 8-10 layers)

We leave the ball to dry, where it does not interfere, for three days.

The ball is dry, let's start decorating. Everyone can decorate in their own way. I decorated balls multi-colored triangles, which I cut in advance.

I glued smaller triangles made of foil onto the large triangles (so that the ball was beautiful, New Year's, it is better to glue the foil with glue "Moment".

The ball is ready! To hang it, you need to tie a thread where you tied the ball.

Hello readers of “Craft Master”!

Almost any thing from papier mache can be made in several ways. Ball is no exception. 2 main ways to form a papier-mâché ball:

Method one. Pasting.

This method is used when you take something in the shape of a ball as a basis and cover this thing with paper, increasing it in size and changing the texture. This method is appropriate if you have an extra ball (for example, for ping pong). If you don’t have the base of the ball, then meet:
Method two. Pasting the temporary base.

This is where there is room for flight of fancy. Roll up a ball of plasticine, take as a base a foam, wooden, plastic ball, a light bulb or an old New Year's toy and cover it with 2-4 layers of paper, holding it together only with water, without adding glue. Then let the paper dry slightly. Apply +-4 more layers, but using a standard mixture of water and PVA.

Then leave the craft until completely dry. Apply at least 3 more times +-4 layers, each time leaving the paper to dry. When the desired thickness has been pasted and the paper is completely dry, take a blade or sharp stationery knife and cut the ball into 2 halves.

Remove both halves from the base. Then glue both halves together as required. The more layers of paper there are, the thicker the walls of the ball will be, and the easier it will be to glue it together. Immediately after applying the glue, cover the freshly bonded ball with 2 more layers of paper.

If you used a lamp as a base, then a small hole in the ball is inevitable, but in some cases this is quite useful.

Now you know the secrets of creating volumetric ball using papier mache technique. Creative ideas to you!

For Russian children

Yes, yes, yes... On home, kindergarten and school New Year trees, everything grows: New Year's cones and balls, figurines and pendants created by children's hands! I suggest making a New Year's souvenir that you can hang on the tree and give to your loved ones!

Step-by-step process for completing the work:
Everything we need can be easily found in any kindergarten group: inflatable balls, printer paper, newspapers, napkins (colored and white), PVA glue, gouache, water, colored packaging tape, brushes, sippy cups, mixing container liquids, scissors.

We inflate small balloons, tear newspapers and copier paper into small pieces, dilute PVA glue with water in a 1/1 ratio in a container.

First, we glue the ball with a layer of newspaper pieces soaked in adhesive liquid.

Then a layer of paper.

We repeat the procedure several times and place it on the radiator to dry.

We form “tails” from pieces of a white napkin moistened with adhesive liquid (glue the rubber ties of the balloons with several layers of napkin) and dry again.

Add a little white gouache to the glue and prime our crafts.

We cut out New Year's elements from napkins: snowmen in multi-colored hats, Christmas trees, snowflakes. We place the parts on the “ball” and carefully, directly on top of the drawing, with a brush dipped in glue, apply the napkin to the craft.

A few minutes on the battery and you can tie the ribbons.

New Year's gifts for parents are ready! “Balls” will look great on your home Christmas tree among other toys.

And I primed one souvenir blue.

When I glued the snowmen on, it became clear that they were somehow “lost” against the blue background. Then the idea arose to paint on the details directly on the napkin with white gouache, and at the same time highlight the top of the craft.

This souvenir will hang on my Christmas tree! When the holidays are over, it will go into storage in a box along with other Christmas tree decorations. Next year, the kids in kindergarten and I will come up with another interesting and useful gift for parents! I wish everyone creative success in the New Year!
