Vasileostrovskaya after renovation. Vasileostrovskaya station opened without a visor St m Vasileostrovskaya opened

Today, May 27, 2016, after a major overhaul that lasted eleven months, the Vasileostrovskaya station is being opened.

I propose to take an excursion to Vaska to evaluate the work CJSC SMU-11 Metrostroy.

Vasileostrovskaya is a station of the Petersburg metro. Located on the Nevsko-Vasileostrovskaya line between the stations "Primorskaya" and "Gostiny Dvor".

Initially, the station was opened on November 3, 1967 as part of the Vasileostrovskaya - Alexander Nevsky Square section.

Before looking at a station after renovation, let's go over the main stages of renovation:

Since the station is the only one on the entire Vasilievsky Island, it was very popular with passengers.

This is how the station looked on the eve of closing for repairs.

Visualization of the renovated ground lobby from the LMGT.

The beginning of the renovation. The old lobby cladding has been dismantled.

The outer walls of the lobby with windows, stained-glass windows and door panels were dismantled.

Dismantling the old visor and the metal supports that supported it.

After the new canopy was installed, work began on the construction of the outer walls of the lobby.

Naked structures of an inclined course.

The central hall has not undergone any changes.

The walls in the stretch chamber turned black and the lights disappeared from them!

Where are these wonderful lamps now?

For eleven months, work was carried out to restorewaterproofing of an inclined course.

Destroyed by time and outdated drainage umbrellas were replaced with modern ones.Escalators have also been renovated. Single-lamp lamps located on the balustrade were replaced with modern energy-saving ones withlamps SOFT 1500-1, 40W, ~ 220V by "Candela"and transferred them to the arch of the inclined passage.

A security checkpoint was built in the checkout room, and everything else was the same as before, even the old-style turnstiles.

The station lobby has undergone a more extensive renovation, during which the old windows, stained-glass windows and entrance areas were reconstructed.

Now the front doors have become wider and now, at rush hour, the crowd that used to stand outside the station will stand inside - at the turnstiles and escalators.

Also, work was carried out to strengthen the structures of the visor, which made it possible to remove the metal supports, which greatly disfigured the already not pretty lobby.

Vasileostrovskaya station is one of the oldest stations of the Leningrad-Petersburg metro. The station was opened on November 3, 1967 as part of the first section of the Nevsko-Vasileostrovskaya line (M3). The station was built during the period of Khrushchev's total economy, which makes itself felt well at the present time and creates a number of problems. Firstly, the not the best quality of construction work, combined with difficult engineering and geological conditions, led to the need to repair and restore the waterproofing of the inclined passage, similar to how it was done at the stations Alexandra Nevskogo-1, Pushkinskaya, Gostiny Dvor "and others. Secondly, the cramped ground lobby with worn-out structures, which has not been able to cope with the colossal passenger traffic at the station for a long time (at rush hour, the entrance queue starts 20 meters before the outer stairs to the lobby). All this led to the need to organize a major overhaul of the inclined passage and the vestibule, which they started talking about a few years ago. At that time, the closure of the station was not possible, because it would have led to a transport collapse, since Vasileostrovskaya was very overloaded. It was decided to close the station for major repairs immediately after the opening of the second exit from the Sportivnaya station to Vasilyevsky Island. The latter was opened on May 27, 2015, and Vasileostrovskaya closed for major repairs on July 11.

Initially, it was planned to rebuild and expand the ground lobby by integrating it into the new building of a shopping or business center. But in early 2015, Deputy Governor Igor Albin decided to abandon such construction. Thus, the ground lobby will not be expanded, and the problem of crowding and queues at the entrance during peak hours will not be solved. In addition, having built a shopping center at the corner of Sredny Prospekt and 6-7 lines, it would have been possible to achieve the geometric completion of the streets, since against the background of the pre-revolutionary multi-storey urban development, the one-story Khrushchev lobby, for the sake of which the same multi-storey building was once demolished, looks out of place. The shopping center, in turn, was planned to be built in the Stalinist Empire style, which would more or less successfully fit into the surrounding buildings.

The major renovation works of the lobby (which will retain its original appearance and area) and the inclined passage are planned for 11 months. Works are performed by SMU-11 of JSC "Metrostroy". The exact date of the opening has not yet been announced.

1. A room under the cash register of the station. Hermetic door.

2. Upper machine room.

3. Upper machine room. Escalator belts run from above.

4. Spare steps for escalators. The escalators themselves will not be changed by tradition, they will be limited only to major repairs of the belts.

5. Inclined course. Top-down view. Technological passage along the chute between the belts. At the top is the escalator balustrade.

6. We go down the slope tray.

7. Room in the bottom tensioner.

8. Turbine room of escalators in the lower tension.

9. Let's go up from the lower tension to the escalators. While the workers are engaged in waterproofing, the underground workers in charge of the escalators are engaged in their repair, running-in and adjustment. The passenger platform of the station is fenced off with a temporary metal mesh. Her appearance will not change.

10. Inclined travel with umbrellas removed. Cast iron tubing lining.

11. Scaffolding from which workers carry out waterproofing repairs. At this stage, the tubing bolts are being replaced.

12. Inclined course. Top view. The bolts have not yet been replaced in this area. After replacing the bolts, grout will be injected behind the lining.

13. An inclined course and its head. Above are the structures of the lobby.

14. Cashier in the lobby. Here they will be limited to only cosmetic repairs.

15. Lobby outside. Dismantling of a concrete canopy similar to the one that fell in 1999 from the vestibule of the Senaaya Ploshchid station is underway. Then, as a result of the tragedy, several people died. After those events, metal supports were installed on all Khrushchev lobbies with similar visors, including the Vasileostrovskaya. During the overhaul of the lobby, the ill-fated canopies will be completely dismantled.

16. Unrealized project of a shopping center with the integration and expansion of the metro lobby.

17. The photo shows how the new building would harmoniously complement the geometry of the surrounding buildings, resulting in a vacant lot at the corner of Sredny Prospekt and 6-7 lines of V.O. with a one-story lobby "box" would have been eliminated.

18. Existing reconstruction project. The lobby will hardly change its appearance and will not be expanded.

19. Only a ramp will be added for lifting people with wheelchairs and people with disabilities.

It's hard to believe that such strict minimalism was in fashion 50 years ago. Now stations do not do without candelabra.

Nothing has changed on the platform (in an architectural sense). But everything was washed very well, everything glitters and sparkles.

Doors mat. For some reason, in the USSR, floors were often decorated with broken tiles. Do you remember there was still broken marble in the stores?

Info and postcard

The arch is a portal to the escalator chamber (or what is the correct name of this hall?)

The wall cladding was changed in the cell. There used to be white yellowed marble.

The reason for closing for repairs is a ramp problem. The peculiarity of the St. Petersburg metro is that the escalator passage passes through a swamp (sandy slurry). This is the weak point of the subway, the water always flows.
Here it was overhauled - they made new waterproofing, changed the drainage umbrellas (we just can see them), moved the lamps from the balustrade to the vault.

Entrance lobby. Quite tiny, nevertheless they pushed the forgiving checkpoint here.

The checkout window was brought out to the facade

Labyrinth for the disabled

On May 27, 2016 at 9 am, the grand opening of the Vasileostrovskaya metro station in St. Petersburg took place. After a major overhaul that lasted about a year, the station changed its appearance.

The facing tiles on the pavilion façade and in the lobby were replaced with beige tiles (previously the flooring was dirty gray), and the lobby was expanded. The iron supports that supported the building's canopy were dismantled, and the restrictive barriers at the entrance were also removed. The structures of the visor itself have been significantly reinforced during the overhaul.

During the overhaul, the specialists completely replaced the structures of the station's inclined course, installing modern ones made of composite materials instead of outdated asbestos-cement drainage umbrellas. The leaks formed during operation were eliminated, the waterproofing of the inclined course was restored.

New turnstiles were installed in the station's ground lobby, a modern checkout hall was built, a KSOB cabin was installed, new windows and cornice lighting were installed.

The station has become more convenient for passengers with disabilities. There is now a special tactile tile on the floor, which serves for more confident orientation of visually impaired townspeople. There are ramps at the entrance and exit from the lobby. For the first time in Russia, widened wheelchair doors are equipped with an automatic mechanism. This technology was developed in St. Petersburg and in the future, automatic doors will appear at all stations of the St. Petersburg subway.
