How to get to the clockwork city. ESO: What is the Clockwork City. New Battlegrounds Mode: Mad King

Get ready to discover the Clockwork City! Before you explore the mechanical realm of Sotha Sil, read about what awaits you in the creation of the greatest mechanic god.

In Tamriel, his very existence is a closely guarded secret. The entrance to this hidden city is hidden in a secret underground vault and its location is known only to a few outside Sotha Sil's personal circle. However, later this year, intrepid explorers will be able to brave the mastery of the Clockwork God for themselves in the new expansion for The Elder Scrolls: Clockwork City.

"You chose the Clockwork City as the next expansion for The Elder Scrolls Online because it is a unique place that no one has explored yet," said creative director Rich Lambert. "This is the realm of Sotha Sil. His interpretation of what the world should look like, and what laws should work in it. The whole realm is made of mechanisms, so it's different from what we've done before - it's really cool. And of course, it's Sotha Sil, and Elder Scrolls fans love Sotha Sil. He's a mad genius."

Mechanical mysteries

Of course, given the hidden and mysterious nature of the Clockwork God, much about the Clockwork City remains a mystery.

The first thing you should know about Sotha Force is that no one knows anything about Sotha Force!” says Lemon Tuttle, head writer for the zone. “Mystery is fundamental to this character. He could have created the Clockwork City for any number of reasons, and whether this is good or bad for Tamriel remains to be seen."

It’s difficult to even describe the Clockwork City. Legend has it that the city is a miniature representation of Tamriel, built in a glass dome, and guests are said to be enchanted to shrink in size to enter it. Even more remarkable is the fact that the word “Clockwork” in the title should be taken literally. Structures, vegetation, living creatures - these are all mechanical structures created by Sotha Sil himself. This makes the Clockwork City a particularly surreal area for players.

"The Clockwork City is the most mysterious zone we've ever made," Tuttle said. “This is partly due to the fact that there was not enough material to work with in the initial stages of creation, and also because it must be understood that this is the domain of Sotha Sil, and no one knows the true intentions of his strange experiments or their results.”

Workshop of the Clockwork God

As you explore Clock Town, you'll discover that it is both a workshop and a testing ground for Sotha Sil's mechanical creations. These fantastic and dangerous living machines include the twisted fabricators, a vicious fusion of flesh and metal that can be found in the wastelands around the city.

"Although the fabricators remain one of Sotha Sil's greatest technological achievements, no one knows how or why they were made," says Tuttle. “Some of Sotha Sil's followers, the Clockwork Apostles, suggest that they may be the first steps towards a future where the line between flesh and machine will disappear. No one knows why there are giant mechanical lizard monsters in this future!”

Are the fabricators part of Sotha Sil's ongoing experiments, or were they simply discarded by the Clockwork God and left to wander the wastes? Regardless, it is clear that Sotha Sil exercises the highest level of control over the created realm. It remains to be seen how your presence will affect this experiment. Will you be a surprise, or will your moves be part of his grand plan?

Clockwork Society

The inhabitants of the Clockwork City, like their mechanical nature, have unique social strata that reflect the design of Sotha Sil.

“The thing about the Clockwork City is that it is in a hidden location that has been hidden from the rest of Tamriel for millennia, and is very isolated as a result,” Lambert explains. “This means that the population that lives there is a little different from what you are used to, and as you begin to progress through the storyline and complete quests, you will begin to understand the nature of this peculiar society.”

This evolving society is divided into two groups: the Apostles, who are part of the Clockwork God's plan, and the Tarnished, who live without the protection of the fortress. For the Apostles, every resident of the Brass Fortress - the central district of the city - must have a specific goal. This goal could be scientific research into Sotha Sil's work, the continuation of his endless experiments, or the goal could be the maintenance of the city's machinery. Those who do not participate in the maintenance of this grandiose project are not welcome in the Brass fortress.

“Fortress Brass is an area with strict orders, where the population performs some function or is expelled. Like any machine, if there's a gear, it has to do its job," explains Tuttle. "But if that gear is broken, then it's thrown away. These are the Tarnished. People who, for some reason, have failed to find their role in society, so society got rid of them.”

You will encounter both of these groups as you explore the realms of Sotha Sil, and you may even find your own role as a cog in this great machine.

Discover Sotha Sil

In the Clockwork City expansion, you'll need to uncover a Daedric plot, but this entire realm is a mystery in itself, and its true nature and purpose can be a big puzzle.

"Ultimately," Lambert said, "with this new zone we're trying to give players the same experience as ESO: Morrowind or Orsinium. They'll have a new zone to explore and a fantastic, immersive story to learn a little more about." Clockwork City."

Welcome to The Elder Scrolls Online v3.2.0 and Clockwork City, where you can step into the legendary creation of Sotha Sil and explore its delightful mechanical world. Among all the innovations, two new bosses, two sorties, and a new Trial will become available to you: Asylum Sanctorium. Clockwork City

To visit Clockwork City, you can use the quest from the Collections/Stories menu, or by visiting the Mournhold Mages Guild.

The Brass Fortress

Your journey to Clockwork City will begin at the Brass Fortress, the center of the city, and the only place where the Apostles of the Clockwork God train and conduct research.

The Tarnished: Not everyone in Clockwork City is a follower of Sotha Sil. Being, in his own way, a good-natured god, he allows you to stay here regardless of the degree of devotion. A social group of such individuals is known as the Tarnished, and they are a valuable part of society, sometimes despite the disapproval of the Apostles. Razgurug, the “mayor” of this forgotten people, provides all possible support to the community, doing what the Apostles cannot do.

New bosses and attacks

The Sanctuary of Verification: Sotha Sil is an aloof ruler whose experiments often last hundreds of years until he is struck by a fresh idea. For this reason, the war machine known as Imperfection was imprisoned by God himself in a secure storage facility to continue upgrading and tuning the dangerous mechanism. It’s scary to think what the purpose of its creation was, and even more so, how many of them there actually are.

The Exarchs’ Egress: unprecedented forces of the Daedra penetrate the shadows of the city, among them new creatures - the Phantom Ravens. Through the mystical gates, you can get into the Daedra dimension, the homeland of these creatures.

The Halls of Regulation: Because Clockwork City is a man-made habitat, it requires a constant supply of breathable air, bottled water, and constant waste recycling. All this is ensured by the activities of the Halls of Regulation, which employs human machines known as Factotums located in the eastern part of Clockwork City. For some time now, this object has ceased to function, perhaps this is a failure of the Factorums, or perhaps sabotage.

The Shadow Cleft: Another dark artery winding its way into Clockwork City can be found in the Another dark artery of the Clockwork City can be found in the Shadow Cleft, which is located in the western half of the zone. This is where all the nightmarish creatures hide, causing night terrors. Several enterprising Clockwork Apostles have already disappeared here, trying to uncover the secret of their real masters.

Recurring Rewards: The Clockwork Facilitator and Novice Holli, located in the eastern part of Brass Fortress, contain daily exploration and clearing quests.

New places to explore

Two full-scale missions are available for you in Clockwork City.

The Everwound Wellspring: Since Clockwork City is made of metal, oil, and wires, finding a place to grow food in this artificial environment was a project of Sotha Sil's, which he unfortunately aborted several years ago. But the enterprising Apostles restored the mechanisms and began growing food again. It looks too good to be true, but the Lecturer in charge of Wellspring still continues to recruit students every year. Perhaps if you are selected, you could be next.

The Mnemonic Planisphere: Being a god means being constantly distracted by a lot of things, but Sotha Sil is smart and resourceful. To free his mind from distracting knowledge and memories, he created the Planisphere, a celestial planetarium and observatory in which he could temporarily store things he no longer needed. this moment, thoughts and ideas. One single astronomer protects the Planisphere, and it will be in great danger if anyone tries to harm the priceless memories.

New trial: Asylum Sanctorium

Sotha Sil used the souls of three Dunmer Saints in his early experiments with immortality. Using the power of the Soul Stones, Sotha Sil created a mechanical container to store the souls of the Saints trapped within them. While the experiment continued, the Saints involved in it were insane. Asylum Sanctorium was created to isolate the Saints so that they would not disturb the rest of the city's residents. During their imprisonment, they have become stronger, and now threaten to break out of their makeshift prison. It's time to put an end to this threat. Asylum Sanctorium is a 12-player Trial located in the Brass Fortress in Clockwork City.

The trial is available in regular and Veteran modes. Here new Asylum weapons with special rocks, similar to Master and Maelstorm weapons, will appear for you.

Also, among the rewards, unique achievements await you, including:

  • Unique skin
  • Multiple titles
  • Unique furnishings
Weapons Asylum and Perfect Asylum

By analogy with Master's and Maelstrom's weapons obtained earlier, it changes and improves the effect of one of the skills from the skill tree of the corresponding weapon. Perfect weapons have the same characteristics, but with higher stats. Perfect weapons will be awarded only to those fearless heroes who can win the most difficult battle available in the Asylum Sanctorium - with Saint Olms and both of his allies.

In Asylum Sanctorium, you can receive rewards based not only on the difficulty level (Normal or Veteran), but also on how many allies will fight alongside St. Olms.

Having defeated Saint Losis or Saint Felms in their secluded hideouts, you will receive a green quality reward ( Normal mode) or blue quality (Veteran mode) items of equipment from one of the new sets: Mad Tinkerer, Unfathomable Darkness, or Livewire. But in this case, they will not be able to join St. Olms in battle against you, which means that the difficulty of the final battle will be lower, but so will the reward.

Defeating Saint Olms, if he is not joined by allies, will provide you with a blue quality (Normal) or purple quality (Veteran) Asylum Weapon as a reward.

In addition to the above, if you defeat Saint Olms, who is joined by one of his allies, you will be rewarded with blue quality (Normal) or purple quality (Veteran) pieces of equipment and jewelry from the Clockwork City sets.

If you defeat Saint Olms and his two allies who have joined in last battle, in normal mode you will receive a blue quality Asylum weapon, two pieces of equipment from blue quality Clockwork City sets, and purple jewelry from one of the Clockwork City sets.

In a similar battle in Veteran mode - the most difficult possible in the Trial - you will be rewarded with a purple-quality Perfect Asylum weapon (with more high performance than regular Asylum weapons) You will also receive two pieces of purple quality equipment from the Clockwork City sets, as well as gold quality jewelry from the same sets. In addition, there is a small chance you can get a box of Clockwork Reliquary Polymorph.

A place on the Asylum Sanctorium Leaderboard will provide you with a reward - a Perfect Asylum weapon of gold quality.

Once a week, completing Asylum Sanctorium on Veteran mode and defeating all three Saints will reward you with a Radiance Resonator, worth 10,000g when selling to NPCs.

Later this year, intrepid explorers will venture into the workshop of the Mechanical Deity of the Tribunal thanks to the latest game expansion for The Elder Scrolls Online- Clockwork City ( Clockwork City DLC). Before you dive headfirst into exploring the mechanical realm of Sotha Sil, sit down by the fire and listen to us talk about the great workshop of the Mechanical God.

In the world of Tamriel, the very existence of the Clockwork City is a closely guarded secret. The entrance to this secret city is hidden in a secret underground vault, and its location is known only to a select few outside Sotha Sil's inner circle.

"We have chosen Clockwork City as the next new zone for The Elder Scrolls Online, because this is a unique place that we have not yet explored in its entirety,” says the game’s creative director, Rich Lambert. - “This is the dimension of Sotha Sil. It is his vision of how the world looks, how it functions, or rather how he would like it to look. His kingdom is completely mechanized, so it's very different from anything we've done before - it's really amazing. And of course, this is the realm of Sotha Sil, and Elder Scrolls fans love Sotha Sil. He's a mad genius."

Mechanical mystery

Of course, given the hidden and mysterious nature of the Mechanical God, hidden in the Clockwork City great amount secrets.
“The first thing that comes to mind when you mention Sotha Sil is that almost nothing is known about Sotha Sil!” - says Lyman Tuttle, head writer of the DLC. - “The secret is that. what the whole character is based on. He could have built the Clockwork City for any of the possible reasons, but whether this is good or bad for Tamriel remains to be seen."

The clockwork city is difficult to describe. Legend has it that the city is a miniature model of Tamriel, hidden under a glass dome, and its visitors magically shrink in size upon entering. Even more remarkable is the fact that the decoding of the name of the city, Clock-work City, is quite literal - everything here is part of a single “clockwork”. City houses, vegetation and even surrounding wild nature- these are all mechanical structures created by the genius Sotha Sil. All this leads to the fact that the exploration of the Clockwork City and its surroundings leaves players with a feeling of surrealism surrounding them everywhere.

“The Clockwork City is the most mysterious zone we've ever made,” explains Tuttle. “Part of the reason for this is that virtually nothing was known about the place when it was first developed, since it is Sotha Sil's own domain, and no one can really fathom the true intentions of his strange experiments or their results.”

Workshop of the Mechanical God

As you explore the Clockwork City, you'll discover that it is both a workshop and testing ground for Sotha Sil's mechanical creations. These fantastic and menacing living machines include, for example, the deadly Fabricators, a vicious amalgamation of flesh and metal that prowl the landscapes outside the city walls.

"While fabricators remain one of Sotha Sil's greatest technological achievements, no one knows how or why they were created," says Tuttle. “Some of Sotha Sil's followers, the Apostles of the Clockwork City, suggest that they are the first step towards a fully integrated future where the distinctions between flesh and machine will be erased. I wonder why a future like this might require giant mechanical lizard-like monsters?”

Are the Fabricators part of Sotha Sil's ongoing experiments, or have they simply been abandoned by the Mechanical God and left to wander the wastes? Be that as it may, it is clear that, even invisibly, Sotha Sil still manifests high level control over the kingdom he created.

Watch society

The inhabitants of the Clockwork City, responding to the mechanical nature of their environment, have unique social strata that reflect the way of thinking of Sotha Sil.

“The peculiarity of the Clockwork City is that it is located in secret place, which has been hidden from the rest of Tamriel for millennia, and as a result its society is extremely isolated,” explains Lambert. “This means that the people who live here are very different, little like the rest of Tamriel, and only as you progress through the story and complete quests will you begin to understand the nature of their peculiar community.”

This growing society is completely divided into two different groups: Apostles, directly involved in the intrigues of the Mechanical God and Tarnished who live outside the safe walls of the Fortress. For the Apostles, every resident of the Copper Fortress - the central mechanism of the Clockwork City - must have a specific goal. This purpose could be scientific research into the work of Sotha Sil, the continuation of his endless experiments, or the important task of maintenance that ensures the functionality of the mechanisms of the City itself. Those who have no role in this grand scheme cannot expect a warm welcome at the Copper Fortress.

« Copper Fortress- a highly regulated area where people either perform a specific function or are expelled. Like any machine, it has its own “parts,” and each of them has a specific function,” explains Tuttle. - “But if a part ceases to perform its intended function, then it is thrown away - this is Tarnished. People who, for some reason, could not find a role in society, thus dug themselves a hole.”

You will encounter both of these groups as you explore the realm of Sotha Sil, and may even discover your own function as a cog in this great mechanism.

Meet Sotha Sil

In game add-on Clockwork City DLC You will be asked to uncover a Daedric conspiracy, but this dimension itself is an unsolvable mystery, and its true nature and purpose is an even greater mystery.

“Ultimately,” says Lambert, “with this new zone we're trying to give people the same gaming experience as in ESO: Morrowind or Orsinium DLC. They get a new area to explore, a new interesting story as well as the opportunity to learn a little more about the mysterious Clockwork City.”

You can access the content DLC Clockwork City being a member ESO Plus or by purchasing it for game currency in Crown Store this autumn.

How will you influence this grand experiment? Will your appearance in the Clockwork City be unexpected or will all your steps turn out to be part of the Divine’s grand plan? Are you ready to plunge into the mysteries of Sotha Sil?

Hi all. Today I want to talk a little about the DLC in The Elder Scrolls Online. The reason for this desire was that my favorite MMORPG has a lot of these same DLCs and another one should arrive one of these days.

I want to say right away that not all of them are interesting, useful and worth the money. If you miss a couple, you will lose practically nothing, so don’t rush to take out your wallets and buy the game with all the extras.

Imperial City DLC or Imperial City

Official description: " Daedric forces have occupied the Imperial City, and all three alliances are fighting to retake it. Experience new PVP and PVE gameplay and two new dungeons. New monsters, crafting kits and much more await you«.

What is included:

  • New dungeons;
  • New rewards;
  • PvP in PvE area;
  • New story content.

Perhaps one of the most useful DLC in TESO. Cyrodiil itself is available to all owners of the standard edition of the game, but if you want to do PvP inside the imperial capital, then you can’t do without the Imperial City.

The White Gold Tower and Imperial City Prison dungeons are, of course, good, but even without the add-on, the game has plenty of interesting instances with good loot.

And, of course, there was a new storyline. If you love The Elder Scrolls series, first of all, due to the well-developed universe and excellent lore, then Imperial City will tell you a lot of interesting things.

I would also like to say something about the location. In addition to the city itself, which is very similar to what we already saw in TES 4: Oblivion, here players will find a huge underground location inhabited by Daedra and the undead. We must not forget about players of other factions, who will constantly interfere with you and force you to participate in PvP battles along with PvE battles.

Of the little things, it’s worth adding about craft motifs, sets, masks and a new currency that can only be obtained in the capital of Tamriel, for which unique rewards are available.

Is it worth buying or not? As I said, the Imperial City is one of the best DLC for TESO. It will appeal to both PvE and PvP fans and fans of the game's lore. If you stopped by online version Tamriel seriously and for a long time, then the Imperial city is a must-have.

Issue price: 2500 CZK.

Horns of the Rich DLC or Horns of the Reach

Official description: " The Reachmen from the Dreadhorn clan are planning evil in the southwest of Skyrim, and it is up to you to thwart their plans in the dungeons of the Bloodroot Forge and the Falkreath domain«.

What is included:

  • New regular and veteran dungeons;
  • New collectibles and paints;
  • Bloodroot Forge Deep Dungeon;
  • Battle with the Reachmen and Minotaurs;
  • New items and achievements.

I can say much less here than about the past DLC. We will get 2 dungeons and, by and large, that's it. Among the useful things there are 2 new monster sets and 7 regular sets.

The addition includes a couple of dozen achievements, for which new appearances, colors and titles are provided.

Should I buy or not? Well, I don’t even know... On the one hand, if you are a fan of PvE content and want to go through all the dungeons of the game or you need one of the new sets, then yes, buy it. On the other hand, in my opinion, the add-on brings too little to the game and you can do without it just fine.

In short, you can get a new gaming experience and valuable items from the purchase, but even without this DLC you will not be disadvantaged.

I almost forgot! The guys from Zenimax also made a collector's edition of Horns of the Rich, for the purchase of which, in addition to the DLS content, you will add 5 crown scrolls of experience, a riding wolf and a pet wolf.

Price: 1500 CZK and 3500 for the collector's edition.

Shadows of the Hist DLC or Shadows of the Hist

Official description: " Includes two new Argonian dungeons: the Cradle of Shadows and the Ruins of Mazzatun«.

What is included:

  • Dungeon: Ruins of Mazzatun;
  • Dungeon: Cradle of Shadows.

Everything here is the same as with the Horns of the Limit. The DLC will welcome TESO players with new dungeons, items, paints, masks and titles.

The only thing I can say about this is that in terms of mechanics and style, the dungeons from Shadow of the Hist are better than those in the Horns of the Reach.

Should I buy or not? As in the previous case - if you are a PvE fan and don’t want to miss a single piece of content, then yes. If you think the game already has enough dungeons without these two, then don't.

Price: 1500 CZK. There is no collector's edition.

Orsinium DLC or Orsinium

Official description: " Journey to the homeland of the orcs in ESO's first expansion focused on story-driven PvE content! Help King Kurog defend the city of Orsinium and watch as the walls and towers grow thanks to your deeds. Includes new armor, weapons, single player arena and more«.

What is included:

  • New pets and armor;
  • New group bosses;
  • An area full of new tasks;
  • Exciting new public dungeons;
  • Single Challenge: Vortex Arena.

Oh... I don't even know where to start. There is really a lot of content in Orsinium and we can talk about it for a long time.

First of all, Orsinium welcomes players with a new location with its own plot, a rather interesting and fascinating plot.

Secondly, Orsinium will delight fans of PvE content with public dungeons and world bosses, from which you can get unique pieces of equipment.

The Vortex Arena is a kind of solo dungeon where a variety of inhabitants of Tamriel and Oblivion will go against you. For passing the test, of course, there are unique and valuable prizes.

Orsinium can offer casual players new paints, titles, 3 new craft motifs and, of course, a couple of dozen achievements.

Should I buy or not? A must for lovers of lore, interesting story quests, PvE content and collectors of motifs (they are really beautiful here). If playing TESO comes down to PvP battles for you, then without Orsinium you will not lose anything.

Issue price: 3000 CZK.

Dark Brotherhood DLC or Dark Brotherhood

Official description: " Your killer talents have been noticed and the invitation is already in front of you - join the Dark Brotherhood! Travel to the Gold Coast, the western region of the old Empire, where you will experience intrigue and conspiracies... and murder! If that's your thing, this is the supplement for you.«.

What is included:

  • Explore the Gold Coast;
  • Join the famous guild of assassins;
  • Repetitive liquidation tasks;
  • New passive abilities for assassins.

The main actions of the DLC take place in the cities of Anvil and Kvatch familiar to us from TES 4: Oblivion (admit it, you wanted to see Kvatch before its destruction by the Daedra).

You can join the Dark Brotherhood at best tradition The Elder Scrolls series - through the murder of an innocent person. In the guild itself, the player will find a small storyline and many daily tasks to eliminate NPCs in all corners of TESO.

Separately, it is worth mentioning the Sacraments - special orders that must be fulfilled according to the best canons of stealth games. Here you will have to hide in the shadows and sneak past guards in a location closed from other players in order to deal a fatal blow to your victim.

Remember how in the past games The Elder Scrolls, was it possible to get an additional reward for the “clean” elimination of a target without witnesses? This mechanics also moved to TESO. Each Sacrament, in addition to the main goal, has conditions for fulfilling the contract and, if you want to receive a bonus, these conditions must be met.

Of course, the Dark Brotherhood could not do without its own skill line. She is represented by quite useful passive skills, including the Blade of Woe, which allows you to kill a victim in one hit by sneaking up on her from behind. Unfortunately, this ability does not work on players or bosses.

On a small note, Dark Brotherhood adds a new crafting motif, title, paints, and souvenirs.

Should I buy or not? For fans of TES lore, fans of stealth games and simply those who liked the Dark Brotherhood in previous parts of the series - yes.

Issue price: 2000 CZK.

Thieves Guild DLC or Thieves Guild

Official description: " Join the Thieves Guild in Hugh's Bane, a never-before-seen area of Hammerfell! Explore Aba's Wharf, a decadent port ruled by corrupt merchant lords who battle the Thieves Guild for power. New stories, raids, group bosses and much more await you».

What is included:

  • New Challenge: Maw of Lorkhaj;
  • New area and new challenges;
  • New zone with tasks: Aba's Pier;
  • Thief, robbery and infiltration abilities;
  • New items, sets and costumes.

The DLC is very similar to the Dark Brotherhood. Here players will also find a new location, a new guild with its own storyline and a set of dailies, additional motives, and cosmetic items.

Fans of PVE content should enjoy the new trial for 12 people: The Maw of Lorkhaj. PvP players don't get anything new.

Should I buy or not? If you are interested in a new guild or prefer to earn in-game currency by stealing, then yes - passive guild branches are very useful in this matter. Also a must-have DLC for tough raiders.

Issue price: 2000 CZK.

Clockwork City DLC or Clockwork City

Official description: " Reports of mysterious shadow assassins draw you to the Clockwork City of Sotha Sil to investigate a new Daedric threat. Uncover the mysteries of this extraordinary new zone, complete a new 12-player challenge, conquer powerful new armor sets, items, and more.».

What is included:

  • New challenge;
  • New zone: Clockwork City;
  • New items and equipment;
  • Exciting storyline.

Those who played TES 3: Morrowind and completed the Tribunal expansion may remember the Clockwork City, which was represented there only by a small dungeon. This time players will be able to see with their own eyes greatest creation Sotha Sil in its entirety.

In fact, the DLC is only valuable for PVE players who cannot live without trials. For the rest, only a fascinating story and the opportunity to get acquainted with Sotha Sil himself awaits here.

Fans of the Dwemer theme may also like the DLC. Although Clockwork City was not built by them, Sotha Sil was definitely inspired by the technology of the missing race.

There is also a collector's edition, in which the developers traditionally included 5 scrolls for experience, a non-combat pet and a mechanical mount.

Should I buy or not? Must-have only for PVE players for the sake of the new trial. The rest - at will.

Price: 2000 CZK for the regular edition and 4000 for the Collector's Edition.

That's all the DLC currently featured in The Elder Scrolls Online. Of course, there is also the global add-on Morrowind, but it is not considered DLC as such, and it would take too many words to describe it, so we will look at TESO: Morrowind in a separate article.

Bye everyone, good luck and see you soon, my friends.

Get ready to discover the Clockwork City! Before you go exploring the mechanical kingdom of Sotha Sil, read about what awaits you in the creation of the greatest mechanical god.

In Tamriel, his very existence is a painstakingly guarded secret. The entrance to this secret city is hidden in a secret underground hideout and its location is known only to a few outside Sotha Sil's personal circle. But later this year, intrepid explorers will be able to test the mastery of the Clockwork God for themselves in the new expansion for The Elder Scrolls: Clockwork City.

"You chose the Clockwork City as the next destination for The Elder Scrolls Online because it's a unique space that certainly hasn't been explored yet," said creative director Rich Lambert. “This is the realm of Sotha Sil. His interpretation of how the world should look and what laws should work in it. In general, the entire kingdom is made of devices, so it's different from what we did before - it's really cool. And, of course, it's Sotha Sil, and Elder Scrolls fans love Sotha Sil. He's a reckless genius"

Mechanical secrets

Of course, considering the hidden and mysterious nature of the Clockwork God, much in Clockwork Town remains a mystery.

The first thing you should know about Sotha Force is that no one understands anything about Sotha Force! - says Lemon Tuttle, head writer of the zone. “Mystery is fundamental to this character. He could have made the Clockwork City for any number of reasons, and whether this is good or bad for Tamriel, of course, remains to be seen.”

It’s difficult to even describe the Clockwork City. Legend says that the city is a small representation of Tamriel, built in a glass dome, and guests are said to be enchanted to shrink in size to enter it. Of course, even more noticeable is the fact that the word “Clockwork” in the title should be taken literally. Structures, vegetation, living creatures - these are generally all mechanical structures made by Sotha Sil himself. This makes the Clockwork City a particularly surreal area for gamers.

"The Clockwork City is the most mysterious zone we've ever made," Tuttle said. “This is partly explained by the fact that at the initial stage of creation there was not enough material to work with it, and you also need to understand that this is the domain of Sotha Sil, and no one understands the true goals of his strange experiments or their results.”

Workshop of the Clockwork God

As you explore Clock Town, you'll discover that it is both a workshop and a testing ground for Sotha Sil's mechanical creations. These mind-boggling and dangerous living machines include, for example, the twisted fabricators, a sinful fusion of flesh and metal that can be found in the wastelands around the town.

"While the fabricators remain one of Sotha Sil's greatest technological achievements, no one understands how or why they were made," says Tuttle. “Some of Sotha Sil's followers, the Clockwork Apostles, imply that they may be the first steps towards a future where the line between flesh and machine disappears. No one understands why there are huge mechanical lizard monsters in this future!”

Are the fabricators part of Sotha Sil's ongoing tests, or were they simply discarded by the Clockwork Lord and left to wander the wastes? Regardless, it is clear that Sotha Sil exercises a high level of control over the made realm. It remains to be seen how your presence affects this experiment. Will you be a surprise, or will your steps be part of his amazing plan?

Clockwork Society

The inhabitants of Clockwork Town, like their own mechanical nature, have unique social strata that reflect the plane of Sotha Sil.

“The thing about Clockwork Town is that it is in a hidden location that has been hidden from the rest of Tamriel for 1,000 years, and as a result is quite isolated,” explains Lambert. “This means that the population that lives there is not much different from your normal one, and as you begin to progress through the storyline and complete the missions, you will begin to realize the nature of this typical society.”

This evolving society is divided into two groups: the Apostles, who are part of the Clockwork God's plan, and the Tarnished, who live without the protection of the fortress. For the Apostles, every resident of Brass Fortress - the central area of \u200b\u200bthe town - must have a specific goal. This goal could be a scientific study of Sotha Sil's work, a continuation of his long experiments, or the goal could be the service of the town's mechanisms. Those who are not involved in maintaining this amazing project are not welcome in Brass Fortress.

“Fortress Brass is an area with strict orders, where the population performs some function or is expelled. Like any machine, if there is a gear, it has to do its job,” explains Tuttle. “But if that gear is broken, it’s thrown away. That and of course there are the Tarnished. People who, for some reason, could not find their role in society, so society got rid of them.”

You will encounter both of these groups as you explore the realms of Sotha Sil, and you may even discover your role as a cog in this magnificent machine.

Discover Sotha Sil

In the Clockwork City expansion, you will need to uncover the Daedra plot, but in general this entire kingdom is a mystery in itself, and its true nature and purpose can become quite a puzzle.

“Ultimately,” said Lambert, “with this new zone we are trying to give players the same experience as in ESO: Morrowind or Orsinium. They will get a brand-new research area and a fantastic, exciting story that will help them learn a little more about the Clockwork City."
