The free Primitive Plus add-on brings variety to the gameplay, and the upcoming DLC called Tech Tier promises to bring weapons and gadgets straight from science fiction to the game.

Thanks to a combination of adorable design and extremely harsh gameplay, Don't Starve is an addictive adventure and one of the best survival games (and one of the few that made it out of Early Access). The crafting system is as complex as it is fun, and fits perfectly into a gameplay where busy days give way to deadly nights.
You will find fights with animals (and afterwards a meal of them), the use of science and magic, and, of course, support for mental health at the proper level (when it decreases, the character will start to go crazy). Don’t Starve Together add-on allows you to play with friends.
A real-time roguelike strategy game in which you explore creepy abandoned spaceships with drone drones.
Duskers may not feel like a full-blown survival game given that this is a strategy for managing a fleet of drones inside scary spaceships... But the reason you research them is to collect parts and fuel, and fix and upgrade your drones so that you can continue to travel through space in the hopes of finding safety and understanding the reason for the unexplained event that made the universe uninhabited (uninhabited by humans , at least).

Yes, many players are already tired of waiting for multiplayer zombie survival to finally leave Early Access, and the fact that DayZ is rooted in the military simulator ArmA sometimes confuses newcomers. But at the same time, all the features of the genre in DayZ are performed with dignity: a complex system of nutrition and maintaining health goes beyond the usual set of regular snacks and dressing wounds.
Here you will find the search for food and resources in a detailed open world, intense interactions with other players, the creation and modification of weapons, and, of course, attempts to stay alive as long as possible: after death you will have to start all over again empty-handed.

At first glance, this is one of the clones of DayZ, of which quite a few have been divorced in recent years, but Miscreated over time has turned into a high-quality multiplayer game with excellent graphics (the game is created on the Cryengine engine). At the beginning, we get only a flashlight and a couple of items of clothing, and then we are waiting for a search for weapons and supplies in empty houses and at military bases. Fearing here is not only wild animals and mutants, but also other survivors.
Terraria in space.
Starbound offers both flights to distant galaxies and the construction of your own small farm, thus combining elements of an intense survival adventure and leisurely pastime. The pixelated 2D open world is fun to explore, with peaceful alien NPCs and incredibly resilient bosses in the game.
There is a competent storyline campaign with additional quests, and you can go through it at your own pace - the game does not rush anyone. Starbound can be played with friends on separate servers, or by inviting them through Steam for your own playthrough.
Rust
Savages run through the forest and beat each other with stones.

Team up or fight other players (or try to survive alone), initially using primitive tools and weapons and eventually reaching firearms and building large bases. The enemies here are wild animals, hunger and thirst, but the game is tailored for constant interactions between people, so the main danger will come from dozens of gamers connected to the same server.
Rust is still experimenting with gameplay (we recently removed the character levels and experience system), and we are very interested in where this will lead in the end.

You may have heard of her. There are countless modes of play in Minecraft: single, "creative", cooperative (with friends or random players), exploration mode, or play in any of the thousands of mods on special servers.

Terraria took years to develop, but the game has stood the test of time in the end.

Don't be confused by bright style graphics - Hurtworld is much more serious than it sounds. If you manage to survive the first few hours of looting, battles with mutants and other players, then you will be able to build your first base and repair any car found in the area (if, of course, you collect the necessary parts).
Particular attention is paid here to weather influences - for example, during a snowfall, a piece of meat in a backpack will freeze and not rot. And it's pretty nice to see some indulgences in a game that usually does not forgive mistakes - for example, after death and revival, all weapons remain with you.

In an effort to maintain both the physical and mental health of a group of survivors, you will constantly be faced with a series of difficult choices.
Strenuous night outings await you in search of food and supplies, and no matter what you find, it will never be enough. This is not just a survival game, it is a hard and truthful look at the very essence of war.

Unturned is far from the classic conventionally free games... Its creator (a teenager) has released more than 150 updates for this survival sandbox inhabited by zombies since 2014, which is why the game is so popular - since its first appearance on Steam, it has already been downloaded several million times.
Despite the not very pleasant visual part, Unturned captivates with deeply developed systems of crafting, skills and survival; and bonuses can include a huge and variegated audience of the project.
