Elements of Gorodets painting for preschoolers coloring book. Gorodets painting: how to learn. Gorodets rose. Step by step drawing

Gorodets painting is one of the traditional Russian folk crafts. It is difficult to confuse this wonderful painting with another. The colors of Gorodets painting are bright, rich, cheerful - and everything about it is symbolic. Black horses with steep necks and thin legs are a symbol of wealth, unprecedented birds are a symbol of happiness, and flowers are a symbol of health and success in business. Let's try to draw the simplest pattern - flowers and buds. Here it is.

For this we will need: brushes of different sizes, gouache or acrylic paints.

Using a wide brush, we tint the circle to resemble a “tree.”

Mix white gouache with red and blue to get shades of pink and blue. Hold the brush vertically. We draw circles, the so-called “underpaintings”

Using blue and red gouache we draw smaller “underpaintings”, slightly extending onto the main circle.

We decorate our rose with petals and draw arcs on the buds.

Now let's start depicting the leaves and twigs. Applying a brush, we make symmetrical imprints of leaves.

And finally, the most important thing. Our pattern needs to be revived. We take the thinnest brush and, with a light touch, apply “revivals” with white paint in the form of dots, arcs, droplets, and strokes. Do not overdo it. The main thing here is to comply

knowing of limits.

As you can see, nothing complicated. Good luck everyone!

Master class “Gorodets painting”

To familiarize older preschoolers with Gorodets painting, I painted a wooden board myself (my eldest son helped me in cutting out the board, which I used and will use in the future as a visual material in teaching preschoolers how to paint Gorodets masters.

For work we will need:

1. Wooden or plywood board of the sizes you want.

2. Tempera or gouache paints, PVA glue (add to gouache)

After mixing with PVA, gouache becomes more durable, fits well on canvas or other surface, does not crumble, and also holds volume. And all this - for many years

3. Large flat brush, round brushes No. 2, 1, .

4. Water, napkins, palette.

Here are the stages of my Gorodets wood painting master class:

Step 1. Place various cutting boards or any other flat products on a sheet of thick plywood, outline them with a pencil and cut out wooden blanks with a jigsaw. Our workpiece turned out to be in the shape of an apple.

Step 2. Sand the sawn blanks with sandpaper.

Step 3. Cover the product with plain paint

Step 4. We make sketches of Gorodets painting on sheets of paper - future templates.

We transfer our painting templates onto wooden products using tracing paper.

I copied without tracing paper. Whichever is convenient for you.

Step 5. We outline the wooden product around the office with gouache paint

Gorodets painting can be easily divided into three stages, since each of them has its own brushes and paints, and a break is also necessary after each, since the previous layer of paint must dry well.

And so we paint the Gorodets painting templates in stages: first, we highlight the dark-colored elements.

Step 6. Draw a bird.

After preparing the surface of the product for painting, if a colored background is not intended. The main elements and colors of the future ornament are applied. This stage is called painting or underpainting; in different sources, the names of the stages of Gorodets painting may differ.

So, for example, the second stage can also be called shading, shading, or painting. It consists in applying a contrasting pattern to the color spots, most often with dark paint on a light background.

And the last stage: Receiving animation using white color

The third stage is livening or reviving. When highlights and small details, usually white, are added to the ornament, as if enlivening the design.

second stage shading

And the third stage of revival

Step 8. Draw the leaves and stems in green.

Step 9 Let it dry completely.

Step 10. We cover our products with colorless varnish. (I used parquet varnish, it takes a long time to dry, but it gives the product an unusual gloss.)

This is the kind of CITY BEAUTY I got! I wish the same for you!

Now paint everything with white paint. Which color was more difficult to paint? Would you like the world around you to be black and white?

That's right, you are surrounded by a beautiful, colorful world, beautiful things.

Children, who can tell me where beautiful, rare things are kept?

That's right, in a museum.

Guys, this morning when I came to work, I saw an envelope in my place. The address of our kindergarten is written on it and it says “Children of group No. 7” from the director of the museum. Since the letter was addressed to all of you, I did not open it, I waited until we all gathered in the group. Want to see what's in this letter?

"Hello children! Museum staff are writing to you. In our museum we want to organize an exhibition of folk products. Hope you can put it together. »

TOPIC: “UKRAESHKA AND FRAMES”

TARGET. Mastering traditional Gorodets ornaments

ORGANIZATION OF THE CLASS. Children carefully examine the presented patterns of ornaments and listen to the teacher’s story about the features of their construction on the strip. It is advisable to recall that the words ornament, decor and decoration are synonymous and that ornament does not exist without the object that it decorates. Children are invited to find patterns on various objects. It is necessary to tell the features of the construction of the ornament in Gorodets painting and recall the laws of symmetry.

COMPLETING THE TASK.

Sample reproduction exercise. Children continue the started pattern on the strip, copying the proposed option as accurately as possible

TOPIC: “RAV HORSE”

TARGET. Acquaintance with the traditional motif of Gorodets painting - “horse”.

ORGANIZATION OF THE CLASS. You should consider with your children plots in which there is an image of a horse. The majesty and grace of the horse are expressed in the smoothness and rhythm of the form, in which beauty and strength are organically balanced. Children examine and remember the sequence of painting. There are several ways to draw - only one of them is shown here. The Gorodets horse is usually painted with black paint. First, an image similar to a large drop is drawn - this is the chest and neck, then an image of a smaller inverted drop is drawn - this is the croup and hind leg of the Gorodets horse. After this, the legs, head are added and, at the final stage of working on the outline, the mane and tail are drawn. After this, the head is added and, at the final stage of working on the outline, the mane and tail are drawn. After this, they begin to revive, which consists of drawing the harness and saddle. If the horse is without a rider, then the bridle is depicted tied to the raised front leg, and the harness on the chest is made in the shape of a flower.

COMPLETING THE TASK.

Children independently complete the symmetrical composition by inscribing the Gorodets horse into the right side of the panel.

THEME: “FAIRY-TALE PALACE”

Develop imagination when creating a fairy-tale image; teach to see the beauty, grace, originality of the form and details of palaces, expand children’s ideas about fairy-tale palaces, castles and houses; to form an aesthetic taste when familiarizing themselves with the environment and to cultivate children’s interest in Russian culture, to improve technical skills and brushwork skills: to paint the space correctly, to apply a pattern with the end of a thin brush; consolidate children's knowledge about works of oral folklore.

PRELIMINARY WORK: Reading Russian folk tales and looking at illustrations for them; conversations on illustrations and content of fairy tales; compiling descriptive stories based on illustrations, highlighting individual fairy-tale images (in this case, palaces, towers, castles, etc.); acquaintance with the elements of paintings of folk arts and crafts; drawing houses for various fairy-tale characters, getting to know the work of illustrators based on works of oral folklore.

METHODS OF CONDUCTING THE CLASS: The teacher reminds the children that they have become acquainted with the work of illustrators for works of oral folklore: fairy tales, nursery rhymes, proverbs, etc. Invites the children to remember how they drew fairy-tale houses: - How does a fairy-tale house differ from an ordinary one? - How does a fairy-tale house differ from a fairy-tale palace? After the children’s answers, the teacher offers to look at an exhibition of illustrations that depict various houses, towers, palaces and castles in which fairy-tale characters live. The teacher draws the children's attention to how different artists created illustrations for the same fairy tale and how they decorated the fairytale palaces in them differently.

– What elements of folk paintings did the artists use to decorate these palaces?

What other elements can be used to paint fairytale palaces? Then the teacher invites the children to draw a fairy-tale palace for a character from a Russian folk tale.

– Think about how your palace will differ from other palaces and how best to decorate it.

– For which hero will you draw your palace? At the end of the lesson, we build a fairy-tale city with the children, in which various heroes of Russian folk tales live.

-Is it possible to guess, looking at your drawing, who lives in this palace?

MATERIALS FOR THE CLASS: Paper size 12, gouache, brushes No. 2 and No. 6, pencil, jars of water, napkins. Illustrations for fairy tales depicting various fairy-tale palaces. “Come here - I don’t know where” “At the command of the pike” (artist T. A. Mavrina); “At the command of the pike” (artist V.V. Kulkov and N. Kochergin); “Magic ring “Sivka-Burka” (art. A. Azemshi); “Sivka-Burka” (art. S. Yarovaya); “Ivan the Tsarevich and the Gray Wolf” (art. P. Bagina and Y. Methodology for studying Gorodets painting

The main goal of general education is the formation of a versatile, spiritually rich, highly moral and educated personality who respects the artistic heritage, traditions and culture of the peoples of Russia. Folk arts and crafts are an effective means of personal development. The comprehensive school is designed to introduce children to the artistic traditions of decorative and applied arts, thereby contributing to the preservation of these traditions. A special role is given to decorative drawing classes, in which preschoolers master certain work skills and get the opportunity to join the culture and aesthetic values of the people. Folk arts and crafts carefully preserve and creatively develop traditions that have come from ancient times. Its basis is the creative manual labor of the master. Beautiful artistic products made by folk craftsmen help instill in children a love for their native land, teach them to see and understand nature, and respect the work of people. Works of folk decorative and applied art testify to the spiritual greatness and enormous creative and constructive capabilities of the people.

There are quite a lot of folk crafts in Russia. Each of them is unique and preserves the roots of the technological process. Mastering the art of fishing is a complex and long-term task. Folk painted crafts have existed for centuries and preserve the original motifs, colors and painting techniques. All painted crafts are united by generally accepted brush painting techniques that preschool children can master. Gorodets painting is an accessible type of folk decorative and applied art. And it is in Gorodets painting classes that you can develop brush painting skills, which are an integral part of the learning process for preschoolers. The formation of such skills develops fine motor skills of the hands, which allows you to more successfully master writing and visual skills; promotes the development of thinking, as well as the development of aesthetic taste.

Therefore, the study of Gorodets painting by preschoolers is a relevant topic.

GORODETSKAYA PAINTING

Technology for making Gorodets products

Scenes of tea drinking, troika riding, and festive festivities are traditional for Gorodets painting. A lush ornament of baths, roses, and leaves frames plot pictures arranged in tiers. The old masters painted fantastic flowers, the likes of which you cannot find in nature, but this is only at first glance. If you look closely, you can recognize flowers, daisies, berries, and in the middle of the fabulous bouquet - a lush rose. The center of the rose coincides with the center of the rosette of petals. In kupavka, the center of the flower is shifted to the left or right. A beautiful Gorodets thin-legged horse with a strong neck is a poetic image-mystery. Proud horses are painted on cabinet doors, the backs of children's chairs, tables, and plates on the wall. The horses are surrounded by fabulous flowers, and sometimes strange birds and animals are depicted here. It seems that horses are galloping through magical gardens.

Gorodets masters paint both on a colored background and on unpainted wood. Most often they use the beautiful texture of pine. The palette of Gorodets painting is colorful and varied. Gold, green, yellow, blue, blue, brown, pink and red colors are combined with black and white. However, each master has his own favorite color palette. The elegant “revival” done with white paint gives Gorodets painting a special expressiveness. Strokes, lines, dots, arcs decorate flowers and figures.

The order of painting:

A) Painting is done directly on a wooden base or the base is primed with yellow, red, black colors.

B) On the cutting board or surface of another object chosen for painting, the composition of the future pattern is outlined with thin lines in pencil. The main thing is to outline the location and size of the main, brightest spots - for example, flowers. These are the nodes of the composition. Medium details - unopened buds - connect large parts between

by yourself; small ones - twigs, leaves - complement the theme.

C) At the nodes of the composition, as a rule, spots of a regular round shape are applied with a wide brush - the base of the flower.

D) Thin strokes are applied over the light spots with a second, darker color of the same shade, for example, blue over blue - a stroke. The outline of the stroke is a drawing one, depicting the contours of the petals of a flower. At the same stage, leaves are depicted between the large elements, the shape of which is obtained with two or three brush strokes.

The entire painting consists of elements: circles - underpaintings, brackets, drops, dots, arcs, spirals, strokes.

E) The final stage of painting is applying strokes and dots with black and white paint. This technique is called “revival” and gives the work a finished look. Done with the thinnest brush.

E) After the tempera has dried, the product can be coated with colorless varnish.

Painting techniques.

The process of Gorodets painting is divided into several stages: painting colored backgrounds, applying the main parts of the design using gunpowder, applying underpainting of the main color spots with a large brush, applying shades with small brushes or modeling shapes with shading and, finally, reviving the motifs with whitewash or other color tones. The painting is completed by graphic elements in the form of frames and lines that limit the composition.

A careful study of the sequence of paint application when performing the most common motifs, such as a horse and a bird, will allow you to paint them yourself. But before you start painting complex images, you learn to paint simple motifs. By changing individual elements in them, you can achieve a wide variety of shapes. For example, by simulating a circle using different techniques, numerous variants of the main Gorodets flower are obtained - a fantastic rose-bush, buds.

Flowers - a sight for sore eyes

To everyone's surprise.

Beautiful boards? Look how the patterns are arranged differently on them. Here there is a branch from the corner up and down, and here the center of the board and the top and bottom are decorated.

There are decorations everywhere. And here I have another surprise for you - individual parts of the pattern - puzzles. They will help us create a beautiful pattern.

Do you know what elements the masters of Gorodets painting use? (Children find them among the puzzles and call them leaves, roses, buds).

And here are the boards for you. I have already prepared them: I cleaned them with sandpaper and soaked them in starch glue. Want to decorate?

And for whom will we make such beauty? (as a gift for mom and dad for New Year)

To make the pattern as beautiful as possible, I suggest laying out the puzzle patterns on the boards first. Remember how to position it: you can shoot a branch up and to the side from a corner; you can decorate the center and top and bottom; maybe in the form of a pyramid. (Children place the elements of the pattern on the board)

Now you need to outline them with a pencil and you can get to work.

Remind me which color combinations are the most successful? (pink brown, beige, green, blue)

(During work, the teacher reminds that first the shading is done, and then the shading is done with white gouache. Helps the children, encourages them, reminds them of the position of the hand when drawing).

(The teacher varnishes the boards in the absence of children)

Goal: Continue to get acquainted with Gorodets painting. With the help of an adult, teach how to select a pattern on different shapes: salt shaker, balalaika, hanger board.

Learn on your own, select the shape and composition of the pattern. Develop artistic taste.

PROGRESS OF THE CLASS

Educator: “Hello, I’m a tour guide. Have you booked an excursion to the city of Gorodets? I invite you to the tourist bus.

So, we arrived in the ancient city of Gorodets and look at how the platbands on the windows of this old street are painted (photo). Do you know how patterns ended up on windows, then on dishes and toys?

In ancient times, wooden ships - rooks - were built in Gorodets and painted with cheerful, bright patterns. Then the wooden ships were replaced by iron ones and the craftsmen who painted the boats were left idle.

They went to the villages and offered their skills, began to paint platbands, gates, rocking toys for children, spinning wheels for girls. And the beauty of Gorodets went for a walk around the world. They founded a Gorodets painting factory.

Here we are approaching it (photo).

How many masters are there! Everyone sits at long tables, in front of them there are preparations - “linen” (photo). Let's imagine that we are also masters of this factory. Choose the item you want to paint.

To make the pattern beautiful, I suggest first taking puzzles, making a pattern out of them, then tracing it and coloring it. The craftsmen of the Gorodets factory apply the pattern immediately, without a pencil sketch. Those of you who are confident in yourself and can complete the painting without a pencil sketch can begin immediately.”

(The teacher individually helps the children choose a compositional solution and color.)

At the end of the lesson, the children go home on the bus and take the crafts as souvenirs.

"Magic patterns". Gorodets painting

Teacher: Look carefully at these flowers and tell me: what are the similarities between them?

Student: Round shape. Petals with arches. White animation.

Teacher: What is their difference?

Student: In the kupavka the center of the flower is shifted, but in the rose it is in the middle.

There are three types of composition in Gorodets painting

1. Flower painting.

Student: Flower painting.

This type is most often used and is the easiest to perform. In a less complex version, the work may depict a single flower with leaves radiating from it. In floral patterns, the following most common types of patterns can be distinguished:

  • "Bouquet" - depicted symmetrically. Usually written on cutting boards or dishes.
  • A “garland” is a type of “bouquet” when one or two large flowers are located in the center, with smaller flowers with leaves spreading out from them.

2. Floral painting with the inclusion of the “horse” and “bird” motif;

Student: Just like in flower painting, in products with images of a horse and a bird, the motifs can be symmetrical. They are located on the sides of a flowering tree or inside a flower garland.

Sometimes, among a symmetrically written floral pattern, there are two birds, sometimes of different colors. The images “rooster” and “horse” are symbols of the sun, wishes for happiness. The images of a “rooster” and “hen” symbolize family well-being and a wish for the family to have many children.

3. Subject painting

Student: Performed on large items: panels, chests and large boxes, cutting boards and dishes. Painting in two or three tiers (in the upper part the main plot is written with a feast, date, walk, departure, etc., in the lower part the plots help to reveal this topic). The middle part separating the tiers is presented in the form of a floral stripe. Another option is also possible: the main plot is depicted, surrounded by a floral stripe.

People's faces are always turned towards the viewer. It is very rare to find images rotated in three quarters.

Crossword puzzle (Each child is given a separate card with a crossword puzzle on the tables. After the children answer the questions, they exchange cards and the answers are revealed on the board. Students check each other’s answers.)

Basic techniques of Gorodets painting

The first and most important thing is to learn how to hold the brush correctly. The brush must be held perpendicular to the surface to be painted. The elbow is fixed, and the hand is completely free.

You can lean lightly on your little finger, which barely touches the surface.

Gorodets painting is performed without preliminary pencil drawing.

To get an arc of a beautiful shape, you need to start painting with the tip of the brush, lightly touching the surface. Towards the middle of the arc, we gradually increase the pressure and finish drawing again without pressure.

Gorodets painting is performed in a certain sequence:

  • Underpainting (flake or squirrel No. 3 or No. 4) - making a colored spot.
  • Shade (brush No. 2) – application of brackets, i.e. detailed development of the ornament.
  • Reviving (brush No. 1) - drawing numerous details (as usual, this is done with whitewash).

To master Gorodets painting you need to paint flowers.

The main varieties of Gorodets flowers: buds, kupavka, rosan, chamomile, rose.

Gorodets leaves various in shape, size and color. Leaves are depicted in two stages: underpainting and animation. If Gorodets green paint is used for underpainting, then the revival is done with black paint.

If you take Gorodets dark green paint, then add white to the black color.

Gorodets birds of the magic garden: rooster, peacock, dove, swan, cuckoo. The writing of birds begins with the head and ends with the tail. First, the curve of the neck and chest is depicted using a smooth line. Then a line is drawn defining the shape of the head and back.

They finish by defining the line of the wing, making a thread-like beak and legs. Most often, the body of the bird is painted black. The revivals are done with whitewash.

Gorodets horse.

There are several ways to draw a horse.

The underpainting is usually done in black. First, they draw the chest and neck in the form of a large black drop, then they draw an image of a smaller inverted drop - this is the croup and hind leg of the Gorodets horse. Then the legs, head, mane and tail are added.

After this, they begin to revive, which consists of drawing the harness and saddle. If the horse is without a rider, then the bridle is depicted tied to the raised front leg, and the harness on the chest is made in the shape of a flower.

Basics of composition in Gorodets painting.

Studying composition takes place in 3 stages:

  • Studying compositional techniques
  • Developing a sketch
  • We make a sketch in full size.

In the center of the composition is the main image: a bird, a horse, a person, a group of people or a plant motif. By the end of the 19th century, a characteristic form of floral ornament had developed. The main elements are buds, roses, and flowers, which are endlessly repeated in different versions.

There are traditional patterns for arranging a pattern in a rectangular shape: with one large flower and several small ones (scheme 1, 2, 3); with two large (scheme 4) and three large flowers (scheme 5 and 6) in combination with a different number of small flowers. After determining the location and type of ornament, you need to find a color solution.

The sequence of work on the composition is shown using the example of making a garland: first, the largest flower is drawn, then smaller flowers, then leaves, and at the end the shading and revitalization of the entire composition is done. The development of the product composition ends with the design of the frame.

The sketches are taken from a workbook on the basics of folk art by Yu. G. Dorozhin “Gorodets Painting”, where you can read a detailed description of the painting lessons.

Kits for children's creativity: painting on wood. Gorodets

Drawing Gorodets painting

Drawing and painting

Gorodets painting is known throughout the world as a great achievement of Russian folk art. In many drawing schools, and necessarily in all schools and specialized schools in fine arts, they study this amazing and colorful drawing technique.

Drawing Gorodets painting from all other directions with its bright, unusual image of black horses, birds with incredible tails, in which such magical images as firebirds can be seen. Animals are depicted in profile, but people, on the contrary, are depicted only in full face. And all these exciting characters are surrounded by lovely flowers and their garlands.

Drawing Gorodets painting

All Gorodets painting is symbolic. For example, a horse in it appears as a symbol of wealth, a bird means happiness, and flowers - as an image of health and prosperity in all undertakings.

The artists mainly chose such subjects as riders on brave horses, colorful weddings and feasts, family and quiet tea parties and many other scenes of celebration from the ordinary life of people. But because the artists were ordinary peasants, a unique style was created in which strict and elegant urban features were mixed with peasant innocence, the sincerity of the common people of those times. Now, Gorodets painting is adapted for both preschoolers and adults.

What's worth buying

Initially, in the world, Gorodets painting was like the art of depicting on wood, but in our time, technology has improved, and therefore it is now possible to paint in this style on plain paper. Even in schools, Gorodets painting lessons are actively taught, introducing the history and technique of Gorodets masters.

You will need:

  1. Paper or board. The first is good for beginners and children, the second is for painting household items - a plate, board and other natural wooden blanks.
  2. Dye. Masters prefer oil paints, but gouache is also suitable for beginners. A regular set of 12 will do.
  3. Brushes. Like any artist, different sizes are required. Better with natural bristles. Three brushes are suitable for Gorodets painting: flute, “squirrel” and core.
  4. Varnish. If the design is applied on top of wood, it must be secured with a special protective layer.

Where to start drawing

To fully integrate into this type of art, it is important not only to simply desire to draw and prepare all the materials, but also to study the drawing technique. After all, writing “in Gorodets” is almost worth a separate article: how to hold the brush, how to move the brush, what movements to use in certain details.

All Gorodets painting is done in two stages. But before we start with them, a photo is applied to the surface, which is also a primer.

Stage 1 – “underpainting”. This is a kind of application of large color spots. It all looks so easy that even a five-year-old child can do it.

After all, the whole point is to first apply the paint in a thin, even layer so that there are no gaps or sagging anywhere. At this stage, use flat and wide brushes - flutes. Suitable for painting all large shapes of the product.

Stage 2 – “revivals”. This is a technique when a drawing using black and white paint is combined into one whole. At this stage, artistic brushes are used. This stage is very difficult and will require a lot of effort and concentration from the artist.

The whole point of reviving is to apply many small dots of white or black paint over the underpaintings. The main thing is not to overdo it and predict the number of revivals, because otherwise you can ruin the work of art.

Many of us learned in drawing lessons about the existence of this naive, but so sunny and kind - Gorodets painting. Young ladies walk on painted boards, thin-legged horses gallop, unprecedented flowers grow... I would like you to find it interesting to read this lesson, at least that’s what I strived for (from the author)

PREFACE Gorodets is a city in the Nizhny Novgorod Trans-Volga region, on the left bank of the Volga. It is one of the oldest Russian fortified cities. Gorodets is the birthplace of a wide variety of crafts.

It was famous for its wood carving (“blind” house carving), the production of spinning wheels inlaid with bog oak (the plank on which the spinner sits), Gorodets painting, and carved gingerbread boards. The dominant color of Gorodets paintings is either bright yellow chrome or cinnabar.

They are usually the dominant color, the background of the entire painting as a whole; blue, green and sometimes “whitened” tones (pink, blue) are used to write patterns, black and white - to work out details. Gorodets painting as such appeared around the middle of the 19th century, when a transition took place from inlaying the bottom (the wide part of the spinning wheel that served as a seat) to their painting. At the same time, the tradition arose of signing proverbs and sayings on works (which is also typical for popular prints) or indicating their authorship.

TECHNIQUES OF CITY PAINTING Materials: Tempera. You can use gouache with the addition of PVA glue. Each primary color is made up of two shades: one bleached, the other more saturated.

The procedure for painting: A) Painting is done directly on a wooden base or the base is primed with yellow, red, black colors. B) On the cutting board or surface of another object chosen for painting, the composition of the future pattern is outlined with thin lines in pencil.

The main thing is to outline the location and size of the main, brightest spots - for example, flowers. These are the nodes of the composition. The middle parts - unopened buds - connect the large parts with each other; small ones - twigs, leaves - complement the theme and have little effect on the overall composition.

C) At the nodes of the composition, as a rule, spots of a regular round shape are applied with a wide brush - the base of the flower. D) Thin strokes are applied over the light spots with a second, darker color of the same shade, for example, blue on blue - a stroke.

The outline of the stroke is a drawing one, depicting the contours of the petals of a flower. At the same stage, leaves are depicted between the large elements, the shape of which is obtained with two or three brush strokes.

The entire painting consists of elements: underpainting circles, brackets, drops, dots, arcs, spirals, strokes. E) The final stage of painting is applying strokes and dots with black and white paint. This technique is called “revival” and gives the work a finished look.

Done with the thinnest brush. E) After the tempera has dried, the product can be coated with colorless varnish.

MOTIVES OF GORODETS PAINTING.

flowers - roses, roses with symmetrical leaves:

animals - horse, bird.

“The Tree of Life” is a traditional plot that personifies nature. On both sides of the “tree”, horses or birds can be depicted.

Horsemen, carriages, ladies, soldiers, gentlemen, dogs are traditional for the Gorodets story painting. COMPOSITION There are three types of composition in Gorodets painting: flower painting; flower painting with the inclusion of the “horse” and “bird” motif; subject painting.

This division is conditional, since plot painting is not complete without floral motifs; it is varied in construction schemes. And even if products with Gorodets painting are made on the basis of the same composition, but in different colors, you may not immediately notice the similarity.

So, Flower painting This type is most often used, it is the easiest to perform. In a less complex version, the work may depict a single flower with leaves radiating from it.

In a more complex version, for example, a stripe of floral patterns is often depicted on the side walls, and the lid is decorated with flowers inscribed in a circle. On the lids of bread boxes, flowers are usually arranged in a rectangle or diamond shape.

In floral patterns, the following most common types of patterns can be distinguished: “Bouquet” - depicted symmetrically. Usually written on cutting boards or dishes. “Garland” is a type of “bouquet” when one or two large flowers are located in the center, with smaller flowers with leaves spreading out from them. They can fit into a circle, a stripe, or be positioned in a crescent shape (on corner screens). This type of floral design composition is most often used when painting cutting boards, bread bins, boxes, dishes, and children's furniture.

“Rhombus” is one of the variants of the “garland”, when one or more flowers are written in the center, forming the center, and buds and leaves, gradually decreasing towards the tops of the diamond, are located along its imaginary edges. This floral arrangement can most often be seen on rectangular cutting boards, chests, benches, cabinet doors, and bread bins.

“Flower stripe” has been preserved in the Gorodets craft since painted spinning wheels, where it separated the upper and lower tiers. Depending on what product it is written on, it can represent a repeating ribbon composition of flowers of the same size, separated by pairs of leaves, or the same composition in which alternate: flowers of the same size, but different in design; flowers of the same size, but different in color; flowers, different in design, color and size.

Such ornamental stripes are usually used when painting three-dimensional items, such as round boxes. A narrow ornamental strip encircles the plot compositions. The wider strip is the middle tier in a three-tier composition.

“Wreath” - resembles a “flower strip”, but only closed along the edge of a dish or box lid. Floral arrangements are usually symmetrical in the arrangement of motifs and color distribution.

Floral arrangement including the “horse” and “bird” motifs. Just like in flower painting, in products depicting a horse and a bird, the motifs can be symmetrical. They are located on the sides of a flowering tree or inside a flower garland.

Sometimes, among a symmetrically written floral pattern, there are two birds, asymmetrical in design, sometimes different in color. Sometimes, when a master makes a composition from several objects (for example, cutting boards), symmetry manifests itself in the composition of the two extreme ones. On the outer boards, various flower motifs can be depicted, or when writing birds, two motifs will be used: “rooster” and “hen”.

Note: The images “rooster” and “horse” are symbols of the sun, wishes for happiness. The images of a “rooster” and “hen” symbolize family well-being and a wish for the family to have many children.

Subject painting Performed on large items: panels, chests and large boxes, cutting boards and dishes. The composition is similar to the composition of gift spinning wheels, such as: painting in two or three tiers (in the upper part the main plot is written with a feast, date, walk, departure, etc., in the lower part the plots help to reveal this topic). The middle part separating the tiers is presented in the form of a floral stripe. Another option is also possible: the main plot is depicted, surrounded by a floral stripe.

Interior: scenes of feasts, tea parties, weddings are performed against the background of a window with the obligatory inclusion of a table. The table is filled with cups, a samovar or a vase of flowers (a symbol of wealth and prosperity). The composition can include curtains and clocks.

People's faces are always turned towards the viewer. It is very rare to find images rotated in three quarters. Exterior: houses with carved shutters and trim, chimneys decorated with carved roosters, wells with roofs decorated with horse heads.

Most often, scenes of walking, going out and dating are not divided into parts. The panels reproduce entire streets with houses, fences, churches, and plant motifs in the form of trees.

Often next to the main characters you can find images of animals - dogs, cats, roosters, chickens. With this plot structure, the main characters are depicted in the foreground, larger than the secondary ones, and they are often highlighted in color.

Gorodets painting is symbolic. Flowers in it are a symbol of health and prosperity in business.

Flowers of Gorodets painting:

Bud

Chamomile

Rosan

Kupavka

Rose

Gorodets masters love color and shade, and therefore they use red (cherry) and pink paint, blue and cyan, as well as brown, black and white to spice things up.

Making flowers using the Gorodets painting technique is divided into three stages.

Stage I of painting - Underpainting- This is a colored circle that will serve as the basis of any Gorodets flower.

Stage II of painting - Tenevka- pointing the petals. When we have painted circles of different colors we need (underpainting), we give the gouache time to dry. Then we begin to draw the petals depending on the colors that we want to depict. On a pink underpainting, the petals can be painted red, on a blue one - blue. In general, painting the petals is always done with a darker contrasting paint.

III stage of painting – Ozhivka– decorating flowers with white dots and strokes. The pattern comes to life. Done with the thinnest brush. For this we will need art brushes No. 2 or No. 3, as well as white gouache.

Rosan. Step by step drawing.

1. Using a simple pencil, draw circles on a sheet of paper.

2. Using a thick brush, draw and fill in an orange circle.

3. In the middle of the orange circle, draw a small red circle.

4. Draw a petal at the top and bottom of the large circle.

5. We continue to draw rounded petals along the edge of the circle.

6. Let's make it come alive. Carefully dip the tip of the brush into white gouache and decorate the rose with dots. First of all, we put a white dot in the center of the circle, and then around the circle.

Gorodets rose. Step by step drawing.

1. Draw the middle (bud) and petals with a simple pencil.

2. Paint the middle and petals of the rose red.

3. Using black paint, add a circle and an arc on top, and with a thin brush we outline the rose petals with black paint. We begin to draw an arc at first by only lightly touching the paper with the tip of the brush, then we apply strong pressure on the brush (while the brush leaves a wide, smooth mark) and complete the arc again with a thin line.

4-5. Animation of a rose: dots, petals.

Kupavka. A sample of step-by-step drawing.

3. At the top of the large pink circle is a small red circle, then draw an arc, and below, in the center, a red petal.

4. Draw red rounded petals towards the top, decreasing in size.

5. Animation of the bath: a dot in the center of a small circle, an arc and petals, dots in red petals.

Chamomile. A sample of step-by-step drawing.

1. Draw circles with a simple pencil.

2. Draw and paint the circle with pink paint.

3. In the center of the pink circle is a small red circle.

4. Draw one petal at the top and bottom symmetrically (dipping method.

5. Add petals.

6. Revitalization with white paint: a dot in the center of the daisy, dots in a circle, white petals between red ones.

Bud. Example of step-by-step drawing

1. Draw a small circle with blue paint.

2. Add a small blue circle at the top.

3. Using a thin brush, draw a blue arc in the shape of a month.

4. Draw white arcs - below and above.

5. Draw a blue arc in the middle of the bud.

Gorodets painting is one of the ancient Russian artistic crafts. These flower coloring stencils allow you to create incredibly beautiful patterns and ornaments. Thanks to decorative drawing, you can create flowers, a peacock, a horse, a bird, a rose, a cockerel and much more.

Gorodets painting is one of the ancient Russian artistic crafts

Gorodets painting begins with cutting spinning wheels. Various figures were cut out of wood and inserted into the recesses according to the appropriate shape. Later, craftsmen began to paint wooden figurines, gradually adding more new colors.

In the 19th century, craftsmen produced beautiful wooden figures in green, red, blue and other colors. They decorated houses and courtyards. The figures were pleasing to the eye, they were loved to be made, and children admired them. The painted rooster turned out to be very beautiful.

What could Gorodets spinning wheels be decorated with?

  • Sled.
  • Chests.
  • Caskets.
  • Furniture.
  • Household items, etc.

Usually, the painting was symbolic. Genre drawings were valued. For example, a merchant and his horse or cockerel were depicted on the board. Elements of such painting have been preserved to this day.

Floral motifs were given special preference in this craft. Animals were also drawn, such as lions or bulls.

The favorite backgrounds in Gorodets painting for the masters of the 19th century were blue, green, in a word, bright and multi-colored. A black background was used less often.

How is painting done? And then and now the work is painted step by step with a brush. Step-by-step craft does not involve drawing from a finished layout. The blow of the hand on the board should be tight and strong. All the work of the master is quite painstaking, but at the same time, fast. By the nature of the technique, the work is not difficult.

For children in the kindergarten, preparatory group and preschoolers, there are many ways to start with simple Gorodets painting schemes, which you can print on the Internet, for example, depict it on the asphalt.

Gorodets painting: lesson (video)

Gorodets painting: basic elements step by step

For such painting, special paints are required. They are called "tempera". Tempera paints are made from dry powders or their analogues. An alternative to such paints can be ordinary gouache, to which PVA glue has been added. If the master’s choice fell on gouache, then he should know that when painting in Gorodets, before painting the second layer of the drawing, you need to wait until the first layer has completely dried, otherwise the work will have a whitish tint.

All brushes must be dry, otherwise they will deteriorate after use.

The specificity of Gorodets painting is painting without a model, that is, the artist smoothly moves the brush over the surface. What artistic techniques can be used when painting? There are many of them, for example:

  • Broad brush strokes.
  • Fine lines with a fine brush.
  • Masterly strokes with a medium brush.

This type of painting requires special paints.

On what surface is Gorodets painting performed? Usually wood is taken as the basis. If desired, you can create a colored background on it by painting the surface red, yellow or another color.

The work flow is as follows:

  1. To begin with, the master marks the approximate dimensions of the composition on the surface. You can use a pencil for this. At the same time, he does not draw the layout! This is necessary in order to outline the future size of all painting patterns.
  2. Many masters advise to outline the outline of the pattern not with a pencil, but with paints. In their opinion, this is the technology that is considered correct.
  3. The knots of the design are made with a thin brush and light paint. This makes the work look neater.
  4. Darker ones are placed on top of the light spots. This is the peculiarity of this craft.
  5. Before starting work, you should collect several different brushes, since it is convenient to draw different details in your own way. For example, thin lines will turn out beautiful only if you draw them with a thin brush.
  6. The main elements of Gorodets painting are the so-called “revivals”. These include points, circles, spirals, strokes and arcs.

Step-by-step decorative drawing based on Gorodets painting for children

  1. The beginning of the drawing is a life-size sketch of the diagram on wood. The size of the future work and its main elements should be outlined.
  2. To simplify the task, you can draw the size of the composition on paper, and only then transfer the image to a wooden surface.
  3. When the size of the ornament is applied to the wooden surface, you need to highlight the main center of the composition. After this, you can think about the color scheme.
  4. When the question of the composition and color scheme of the composition has been decided, you can begin to draw the ornament in detail.
  5. For children, it is recommended to choose simple drawings. For example, you can depict the sun. A red circle is drawn in the center, and rays next to it. The radial stitches should be the same size.
  6. At the end of the work, the wooden surface is varnished. A cutting board is perfect for this type of work.

It will be easier for your child to draw simple elements

Gorodets painting patterns for the older group

In the middle and senior groups in kindergarten, there is no need to choose too complex elements of painting, because if the child cannot cope with it, then he will be bored. To begin with, you can get acquainted with this drawing technique and write down a summary. The presentation will not take much time, but the child will know all the basics. You can opt for a simple ornament and draw a beautiful flower. Thanks to this little town painting you can create a bookmark for a book. This is a fascinating activity; appliqué always quickly interested children.

Drawing method:

  1. The work will use white, red, brown and green paints. Children should draw either on wooden boards or on shallow wooden plates.
  2. Use a pencil to mark the center of the composition and its size.
  3. Then you can start drawing the flower. A small red circle is drawn in the center. Red paint is then mixed with white to create pink. Another circle is drawn in pink, larger than the first. After that, the circle is red again and pink again. Thus, the flower has a multi-colored middle.
  4. The petals are made with green and brown paints. It’s better to alternate them, so the work will be more beautiful.
  5. You can combine green paint with white to get a lighter greenish color. They can be used to draw the petals from the inside. This drawing is done with a thin brush.

In the middle and senior groups in kindergarten there is no need to choose too complex elements of painting

The work is completed by varnishing the surface.

Gorodets painting: how to draw flowers?

Master Class:

  1. To begin with, select the surface and material with which the work will be performed. The more colorful it is, the better.
  2. The centers of the colors are marked on the surface with a pencil. A bright circle is drawn. Then petals are drawn in each circle. To do this, use a color darker than the core of the flower.
  3. Every flower must have a petal. Light green petals can be painted on the inside with a thin brush. You can also draw the outlines of petals and flowers with darker paint, but not black.
  4. The composition will be complemented by blue berries drawn next to the flowers.

a flower can be either complex or easy - it’s up to the master to choose

Gorodets painting: how to draw a horse?

  1. To do this you need to use black or brown paint. But for the horse to stand out, the background of the work must be light.
  2. The horse's body is drawn with a medium brush. First you can draw an outline for it, and then paint it. The limbs, tail and neck are drawn with a thinner brush. The animal's hooves are drawn separately.
  3. The horse's mane can be painted red.
  4. A beautiful ornament will decorate and complement the composition. You can make a picture frame for it. You can also draw a horse running towards the sun.
