We cut the canvas around the embroidery... not along the very edge, but slightly backing away from the edge - this will be the front wall of our toy. From any fabric we cut out a piece of the same shape (this will be the back wall of the toy...)
Sew the front and back parts of the toy together. You need to sew by attaching the front and back pieces WITH THE RIGHT SIDE INSIDE... We sew along the seam, around all the edges - BUT LEAVE a hole through which we will turn our toy right side out.

To begin with, we find the pattern we like for a round New Year’s motif (in our case, a snowman), and embroider the motif. We wash the finished workpiece, dry it, and iron it with steam.

Now you need to cut out the blanks for sewing the Christmas ball. The pattern is designed for an insert with a diameter of 8 cm.

From the fabric we cut out 3 wedges for the back of the ball, 2 parts of the middle wedge for the front of the ball along the bias. Along the contour of all parts, be sure to make seam allowances of 1 cm. We make a pattern from cardboard for the embroidered insert.

We sew together the details of the back and front parts. We cover the round cardboard blank with embroidery, securing the canvas from the inside with glue.

We sew the back and front parts together, leaving a small hole open on one of the tops for stuffing the ball. Turn the ball onto its face and fill it tightly with padding material. Using a blind stitch, carefully sew on the embroidered insert with the image of a snowman.

We sew the embroidered insert with fancy yarn. We sew the hole for stuffing manually with a hidden seam. To hang it on a Christmas tree branch, take a piece of braid 20 cm long and sew it to the upper pole of the ball, tucking the ends inward.

If a plain fabric was used to sew the ball, then the toy can be decorated with sequins, brocade threads, beads or painted with shiny paints. We make small bows from braid and ribbons. Sew them to the ball.

We cut the embroidered elements in the form of various geometric shapes: a candle in the form of a diamond, a Christmas tree in the form of an oval, bells in the form of a circle.

We cut out the corresponding patterns from brocade and fleece. We fold them into a “sandwich” facing inward (embroidery, fleece, brocade).

We lay a basting along the contour and sew it on a sewing machine, leaving a small section of seam.

Having made the notches, we cut off the excess lining fabric so as not to deform the product.

Through the unsewn section of the seam, we turn the toy inside out, carefully sewing up the hole left with a blind stitch.

For decoration we twist three ropes of white iris and shiny thread. Using a homemade rope, we manually sew the edges of the products along the seams, making loops in the upper part of the toy. At the base of the loop we sew bows from satin ribbons or braid.

So our Christmas tree decorations are ready.

A bright colorful toy will not go unnoticed on a beautiful New Year's tree. Following this example and turning on your imagination, you can decorate an ordinary plastic ball as you wish.

To work you will need:

Plastic ball (diameter 10 cm);
A fragment of any New Year-themed embroidery (9x6 cm);
1.5 m of satin ribbon 4 cm wide;
1.5 lace braid;
Quick fix adhesive;
Scissors;
Crochet hook;
Decorative elements (powder, brush, beads, accessories);

Work process

Having stretched the canvas onto the hoop, we embroider the New Year's motif. We wash the finished element and iron it from the inside out, but not dry. We apply the slightly damp workpiece to the ball, placing it on a stable base. Carefully stretch the embroidery in the directions we need, secure with ribbons, and leave until completely dry. Thus, we will give the embroidered element a rounded shape, and the surface of the toy will be neat and smooth.

From satin ribbons and a border with a motif, we cut out fragments in the form of orange slices. To make the blanks even, you can first cut out a pattern from paper, adjusting it to the size of the plastic ball. We will need 6 ribbon parts and one with embroidery.

We coat the surface of the ball with glue and glue the fragments next to each other. If there are small gaps between the parts, this is not a problem, because... then we will decorate all the joints with wide braid.

If the edges do not stick in several places, then carefully apply glue to the desired areas using a hook and carefully press the edges of the parts with a clean cloth until they set. We cover the entire ball in this way; the width of the last part can be adjusted so that there are no too wide seams that will not be covered by the braid. We glue decorative tape along the seams.

Now let's move on to decorating the ball. Places on the embroidery that are not cross-stitched, i.e. Spread the clean border with shiny powder. We decorate the upper and lower poles of the ball with tassels with beads, which will hide the unsightly joints of the glued decorative tape.

We insert a cap with thread into the ball and admire the result.
