.. For many people such a phenomenon as Marilyn Monroe -
this is the real personification of femininity and sexuality,
which it remains timeless...

An inimitable diva - she is the absolute embodiment American dream,
and her life is still the same, beloved by millions, the story of Cinderella:
little girl from poor family turned into an instant
into a successful Hollywood star.

This girl lived in New York and Los Angeles,
I adored Russian classics and made the whole world fall in love with me!

It is perhaps difficult to find a movie star who has such a huge number of fans and imitators. However, no one has yet been able to completely replicate the image, and most importantly, the energy of Marilyn Monroe. We will not try to do this, but will just get to know the style and image of this amazing woman..!!!

Marilyn's favorite colors are beige, red, black, cream and white,
and these are the colors she wears in most of the photos from photo shoots different years.

Few people know that Marilyn was inspired by
Greta Garbo, and borrowed her eye makeup technique.

Marilyn made a special eyeliner on the lower eyelid, like a shadow from eyelashes,
and white kajal on the mucous membrane.

She also usually sculpted her nose with blush,
and used highlighter.

Monroe created plump lips using three shades of red lipstick:
- light,
- medium and dark
(Max Factor, Elizabeth Arden and Guerlain),
- and also - with the help of highlighter and glitter.

Marilyn drew a line along the outer edge of her lips with a burgundy pencil.
(not too dark).

I applied three red lipsticks one at a time.
(Max Factor, Elizabeth Arden and Guerlain) - and that's just the basics!

The medium tone covered the entire surface of the lips,
applied more dark shade closer to the pencil line,
lighter - towards the middle of the lips.
And between the layers of lipstick there are layers of gloss:
- first medium in tone Red lipstick,
- then shine,
- then a darker one closer to the pencil line,
- then shine again,
then light - to the middle,
after which - highlighter and... - glitter.
She applied white highlighter to the middle of her lower and upper lips.
Moreover, it is unknown what kind of shine she used,
since she said it was her own invention! ;)

Authentic Marilyn Monroe dresses - fairly regular cut,
from multi-colored jersey:

Quite simple and elegant things:

For her seductive figure, by the way, Marilyn did not disdain dumbbells,

And good underwear with special effects.

By the way, Marilyn Monroe loved the pencil skirt,

Combining it with blouses, shirts, turtlenecks;

As soon as it got cool, Marilyn Monroe wore
light trench coat or simple knitted coat:

Another favorite thing in Everyday life
there were cropped trousers paired with shirts;

And almost always Marilyn Monroe chose shoes with heels:
sandals or classic pumps:

Pay attention to Monroe's shoes in all the photos:
- the heel is high, but not too high,
- the block is stable.
All shoes are elegant.
Femininity that does not spoil the health of your feet!

These shoes are from the movie "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes";

But Monroe preferred this silhouette and heel in life.

In addition to dresses and skirts, Monroe also wore trousers.
Capris look especially cute on her,
and ordinary, no-frills jumpers:

As for evening dresses, there was no trace of everyday modesty and restraint. Only luxury and shine!

Long low-cut dresses with long satin gloves
and a fur coat and diamonds - this is the favorite image of the movie star.

One cannot help but recall the famous skin-tone shimmering dress in which Marilyn Monroe congratulated John Kennedy on his birthday:

... “A woman’s attractiveness is only strong when
when it is natural and spontaneous" ...

created a gentle, sensual and mischievous image of Marilyn Monroe for Nastya.

Thanks to the coordinated work of all participants in the shooting, we were able to achieve an amazing result.

On the question of “how it was,” you can watch our backstage video.

Photographer Anna Tratsevskaya

stood in front of me important task: study manners, poses, behavior of Monroe herself in order to show and explain to the model how she should be in the frame. I looked through many photographs of Marilyn, from each I emphasized and noted something for myself. A week before the shoot, I sent Nastya the material as if general principles posing, and directly in the image of Monroe: videos, pictures, her photo shoots, winning poses - we discussed all this in advance. Our model studied everything and did a great job during the shoot itself. I was sincerely surprised that Nastya was able to penetrate the spirit of Marilyn so well, get into character and show all the sensuality of this style icon.

Makeup artist Yana Taranyuk about creating the image of Marilyn Monroe:

The image of Marilyn Monroe is the image of a sexy, but feminine, mysterious and charming woman. Makeup and hairstyle play a big role important role in her image. I always carefully prepare for each photo project, which is why we fundamentally do not call it a photo shoot. This is a project for which a concept is developed, everything is carefully thought out and discussed. I read a biographical book about Marilyn. I looked through a lot of her photographs, almost under a microscope. Where is the light, where is the shadow. This is all very important. To make this squint, you need all the lines to be directed slightly to the side and down. These are special arrows, these are necessarily glued eyelashes, her expressive eyebrows. We can talk about lips for hours. To be honest, I dreamed about her. In fact, there are secrets in Marilyn Monroe's makeup that relate to competently changing the shape of the face with the help of certain makeup products. If you look at photographs of Marilyn without makeup, you can see that she does not have any supernatural facial features, this is all the work of her makeup artist and herself. Thus, the usual appearance of absolutely any woman can be significantly changed. And even the length of the hair does not matter here. Nastya, a participant in the project, has hair length almost to her waist. Using a curling iron and bobby pins, you can easily pin your hair up. Create legendary image For me it is always very interesting and a little exciting.

As Monroe said: “We women have only two weapons: mascara and tears. But we can’t use both at the same time.”

Stylist Maria Orlova about creating the image of Marilyn Monroe:

Our participant Nastya quickly managed to get used to the image of Marilyn Monroe, she easily conveyed her poses, smile and mood. When Nastya froze in yet another pose, it seemed to me from the outside that I was looking at a poster with Marilyn Monroe hanging on the wall!

Plus, we brought the perfect red dress, especially for our photo projects! A floor-length red dress made of thick fabric, with a corset base, will suit any figure! You'll look great in it! It also suits different images, be it cheerful and chic Marilyn Monroe, or arrogant, cold elegance, or maybe you feel like a passionate and fatal beauty!? Our team will help you realize any image and feel relaxed! ! ! Looking forward to more photo shoots!

An object of admiration, imitation, inspiration, a real style icon - this is all about her, the main blonde of all time, the great Marilyn Monroe. From the very beginning of her dizzying career to this day, her seductive image and style are copied by thousands of women, her height and weight are considered the standard, and this is not surprising, because Marilyn is the very embodiment of femininity.

On June 1, 1926, Norma Jeane Mortenson (who later took her mother's surname Baker) was born in Los Angeles - the future Hollywood star Marilyn Monroe. A difficult childhood spent in orphanages and foster families, youth at the factory - it would seem that nothing foreshadowed a dizzying career for Norma. However, her natural beauty noted photographer David Conover, who was reporting on the plant workers. It was he who advised the future star to try himself as a model. The girl’s rather tall height for those times (163 cm) and weight (about 55 - 60 kg) made her proportions ideal for photos.

In 1945, Norma Baker began collaborating with the Blue Book modeling agency: it was during this period that the naturally brown-haired woman decided to radically change her hair color and style. This is how Marilyn Monroe's famous hairstyle came about - platinum fluffy shoulder-length curls. Then Norma takes on a more sonorous pseudonym, under which millions recognize her.

Monroe's film career, which began rapidly in the 1950s, became an incentive for the actress to create her own recognizable, unique style. Marilyn shows herself in public and on screens in seductive, sometimes even provocative, feminine outfits, which were instantly copied by numerous fashionistas of that time.

Iconic makeup: Marilyn Monroe's Hollywood look

Perfect porcelain skin, lush eyelashes, neat eyeliner and bright red lipstick (pictured below) - this is a recognizable image that has become a true classic. Makeup in the style of Marilyn Monroe is still relevant today, because it emphasizes beauty in the most advantageous way female face without overshadowing its natural features.

And, of course, the famous makeup in the style of Marilyn Monroe is unthinkable without the famous “spot” (in the next photo) - the actress made the mole on her cheek her “highlight” and certainly emphasized it with a brown pencil.

All facets of temptation: Marilyn Monroe's style on screen and in life

The actress's ideal parameters, height and weight allowed her to wear almost any outfit - Marilyn looked incredibly feminine even in wide men's shirts and short trousers. However, the actress gave her preference to emphatically feminine, seductive outfits that hug her figure.

Dresses

The main item in the actress's wardrobe has always been dresses.

Throughout her life, the actress's weight fluctuated slightly, but her proportions remained unchanged - and Marilyn skillfully emphasized her seductive curves with tight-fitting styles.

Many of Marilyn Monroe's dresses have become iconic and recognizable: a snow-white dress with a deep neckline and a flowing pleated skirt, so impressively captured in the photo fluttering in the wind. A translucent, tight-fitting, flesh-colored dress, decorated with rhinestones, in which the actress congratulated the president on his birthday (despite its apparent lightness, its weight was several kilograms). Cyclamen bustier dress with a bow and matching gloves from the movie “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” (in the next photo). Black dress with a white bow on the chest - they all became some of the most recognizable wardrobe items in the history of fashion.

Stills from the film "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes"

In the film star’s wardrobe, there are two favorite styles of dresses: a tight-fitting sheath that fits like a second skin and a fitted dress with a flared skirt (pictured below).

Many of Marilyn's dresses had a very deep neckline and exposed her shoulders and arms. To wear such revealing dresses with dignity and control her weight, Marilyn performed exercises with dumbbells every day.

Skirts and trousers

IN ordinary life preferred a discreet style: one of the actress’s favorite outfits was a simple sweater or turtleneck combined with a tight-fitting knee-length pencil skirt.

Marilyn chose smooth fabrics and preferred simple basic colors - black, gray, white or beige. Flared, flowing skirts were also present in the star's wardrobe - she combined them with shirts or cropped tops.

The actress's height allowed her to wear cropped trousers - many photos have been preserved in which the star is captured in her favorite plaid trousers.

Tops, blouses and jackets

Jackets were a favorite item in the star's everyday wardrobe - she preferred narrow, fitted models, often trimmed with fur.

The actress's wardrobe included many sweaters, turtlenecks and tops that today we would call crop tops - cropped models that end under the bust. However, with the exception of photos from resorts, the star did not expose her belly and combined such tops with high-waisted skirts and trousers. This style visually increased height and emphasized feminine proportions.

Another favorite item of the film star’s wardrobe is white shirts in men's style. Marilyn tied them under her breasts, tucked them into her trousers, or wore them to graduation. Ideal height and the weight of the actress allowed her to look seductive even in loose clothes.

Outerwear

In public, Marilyn often appeared in luxurious or capes.

The actress's favorite was a white ermine fur coat. were also present in the diva’s wardrobe: draping it over her shoulders, Marilyn even descended from the plane like a real diva. The next photo shows the actress’s favorite black and white coat.

Shoes

“Give a woman a pair of high-heeled shoes and she will conquer the whole world,” said the great Monroe. Marilyn knew what she was talking about - she owes her famous exhilarating gait partly to her shoes. high heels. Pumps and open-toe sandals with thin heels are the actress’s favorite models. To visually increase her height and make her legs even longer, Marilyn often chose nude models.

Beauty secrets of the great blonde

The actress’s ideal parameters and weight are not so much a gift of nature as the result of the star’s continuous work on herself. Every morning the actress began with physical exercise with small dumbbells - they were the ones who helped the actress strengthen pectoral muscles and be proud of your seductive bust, and also maintain thin waist. Swimming helped the actress quickly lose weight before filming.

The actress's height required her to maintain a weight of 53 - 55 kg, and at the beginning of her acting career, the actress's menu consisted mainly of fast food (hamburgers and peanut butter). Subsequently, Hollywood nutritionists developed a special diet for Marilyn that would help her quickly get into shape before filming. The actress maintained her weight by eating mostly proteins and avoiding complex carbohydrates.

The phenomenon of Marilyn Monroe has many components: it is not only beauty, but also a unique style, naturalness, the ability to reveal one’s femininity with the help of clothes, and also confidence in one’s irresistibility and self-love.

Marilyn Monroe is the very embodiment of attractiveness, charm and elegance. One can admire endlessly the ease and naturalness with which she could show off in sexy outfits and seduce with a languid smile. Today we again admire Marilyn Monroe’s clothing style, which corresponds to the canons of true beauty and femininity.

Norma Jean Baker (well, you know, that's the real name of the legendary blonde), like any professional, started climbing from the bottom rung, not realizing what lay ahead of her. And unimaginable success awaited her. Photo shoots for leading glossy magazines, constant filming and endless parties... Therefore, it does not seem strange to us that Marilyn Monroe recovered entirely alone. We’ll leave the conversation about what books the actress enjoyed reading until better times, but now let’s enjoy her exceptional appearances.

Beauty, according to Marilyn Monroe, requires time and leisure. Living in hectic times, she could be late for meetings or filming, but she always arrived on time. perfect shape(it’s worth learning from her desire for perfection and harmony). On the red carpet and in the movies, Marilyn was the epitome of Hollywood glamor. The legendary style icon completed her fitted dresses with sexy cutouts with fur coats, capes or fur coats, leather gloves and precious accessories. By the way, although she sang that diamonds are best friends girls, however, focused attention not on jewelry, but on luxurious dresses.

Marilyn Monroe's evening style is predominantly elegant silhouettes with an accentuated waist and accents on the bust line. The actress's wardrobe included dresses that are still preferred by Instagram divas and Hollywood hill dwellers today - models made of velvet and satin, dresses made of pleated fabrics, options with a metallic effect and a deep V-neck.

The effect of a bomb exploding at the party in honor of John F. Kennedy's birthday was created by her sexy dress made of thin silk in a nude shade, studded with stones (Marilyn left the lingerie in the closet that evening). By the way, the actress was “sewn” into the dress right before going on stage.

Elegance, laconicism and attractiveness characterize Casual style Marilyn Monroe. The actress preferred classic shirts, stylish skirts high-waisted, oversized coat. Wearing a dress with a floral print, stripes or polka dots, she looked like she had just stepped off the cover of a fashion magazine. Monochrome sweaters in tandem with classic trousers and two-piece wool business suits.

How about this one great woman smiled! Let us take an example from her, because in life there are many reasons to smile.

There are people for whom their work is not just a means of making money, it is the meaning of their life. And Nicholas Murray was one of those lucky ones. “Fortunately, for me photography is far from just a profession - it is a way to establish contact between people, a way to understand the very nature of man and, if possible, record it with all respect for the individuality of everyone,” said Nicholas.

Nicholas Murray(Nickolas Muray) was born in 1892 in Hungary, and arrived in America as an adult, when he was 21 years old. He didn't know at all then in English, a maximum of 50 words learned along the way, but he had an international engraving certificate, and it was in this field that young Nicholas was going to make a name for himself.

Nicholas settled in New York, quickly found work as an engraver for a company in Brooklyn, and four years later he was working as a color technician, processing color negatives for Vanity Fair. All this was very close to working as a photographer, but still not quite it. Nicholas learned to work with images, learned to see which photographs attract attention and which ones are not remembered. Perhaps it was this experience that allowed a miracle to happen one day - in just one night, Nicholas turned from an unknown technician into a famous photographer.

In 1920, Nicholas photographed actress Florence Reed for Harper's Bazaar magazine, and it was his photograph that caught the attention of the magazine's manager and appeared in the next issue. So Nicholas got new job and in the next ten years he took more than ten thousand portraits of artists, writers, musicians, actors, politicians - a wide variety of famous people that time.

In subsequent years, Nicholas Murray had many more contracts with various publications, including Vogue, but the most famous photographs that Nicholas took can be considered portraits of Frida Kahlo and Marilyn Monroe.
