I love playing on the computer. Especially in shooting games. Shooters / FPS / Action - whatever they are called, the meaning is the same and the buzz too :) And this passion for shooters is shared by my girlfriend (yes, I was lucky with her =)). Recently, we have two computers and naturally there was a desire to chop together. And not just in "death match", etc., but in a cooperative mode for passing. We had the only difficulty at the very beginning: we set the hardest level of the game and we couldn’t survive the first mess anyway. it cannot be changed on the fly. We didn’t reach the end, because a glitch was formed: when it was necessary to defeat and save Redfield’s former partner, the battle became endless.

Gears of War (2007)

The bots are more or less rummaging around, do not bunch up, as is the case in other games, scatter across the battlefield, hold positions and crush the enemy with fire. In general, the mechanics of the game itself is great: you can hide behind covers and shoot from behind them; run across / somersault to other shelters; while moving and fighting, the camera shakes creating a real effect of participation; partners can be saved (no one dies completely); opponents do not sit still, besides, you can’t just kill them so easily. With a two guns, a pistol, Grena + hand-to-hand techniques. All the conditions for a tough uncompromising war!

The laptop more or less copes with the high quality settings of the game. There are not many of them, you can experimentally select the ones you need in combination with Fraps. Achievements are saved in GfWL, so if you have a pirate - only a local profile and LAN. In addition, the game has a special requirement: it strongly recommends installing AMD Processor Driver 1.3.2.16. And there is no driver for this version! You can download another version (the real version of the driver is 1.3.2.0, despite what is written on the site). After installation, the game still recommends installing the required driver, but there is no way out - we skip the message and cut ourselves at our own risk.

I have not fully understood why this driver is needed. It seems like it was specially written for dual-core AMD processors for automatic power management and overclocking if necessary. On the forums I found an explanation like "without it, the game will be stupid and hang in places." The message from the game says that it can crash without saving. Now this already looks like the truth, I checked it for myself: without a driver, the game crashed after 10 minutes, and after installation, we calmly lost more than an hour.

Lost Planet 2 (2010)

The brain clings desperately to a barely noticeable storyline, while the hands take out the enemies one by one. The second part of the game is made in the spirit of its predecessor: combat vehicles, huge weapons in the hands of fighters, armor, the struggle for energy on an alien planet and the local aggressive fauna. Even the degrees of freedom of movement are the same - jumps, harpoon, sharp turn, etc. The game was a success.

The differences are as follows: we fight mainly with people armed with the same set of lethality that we have. Now you can even pass the company in the company%). To do this, you can take 2-3 bots or people with you, if any. Moreover, the game is sharpened specifically for network gameplay: you won’t understand how to set up the passage for only one. The developers generally overdid it with a set of menus and confirmation dialogs. Annoying factors include jamming of the sight (it moves jerkily) and a huge preponderance of forces in battles with bosses.

You need to play with someone together :) Combat situations and difficulty in the game are clearly designed for people, not bots. AI in some places gives out such that you rejoice at the possibility of lethal fire on your own. The very passage of the company resembles an ordinary death match: you cut yourself on the map before the X event occurs. Respawn right there at some captured data post (BattleField reminds you), the probable loss of the team is the loss of N-th number of points for respawns. It seems there is even a plot, but I caught it in fragments. Yes, and it’s not particularly important when such fights go for a “place in the sun” :)

When launched with a local GfWL profile, only LAN is available from the connection types. The quality of the game for a laptop should be no higher than average at the maximum screen resolution (the first test was kept at 10 fps). Unfortunately, we didn't manage to finish the game. I couldn't figure out how to make the "scooter" fly vertically up %(

There is one subtlety of the co-op passage at the beginning of the game. According to the scenario, the creating player finds himself in a snowy desert with three bots, while the second player is marinating in arcade mode in some kind of gorge (!), Shooting flying reptiles from a helicopter to infinity. And it's so intended. The shooting range for the wingman will end when the "commander" with the bots gets to point X. Only there, real players will meet in battle against a huge arachnid or whatever .. In short, don't be surprised when you start co-op.

Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter (2006)

Played pirate game with patch v1.35. In the multiplayer menu, select " cooperative", then it will turn out to be a game for passing. About the patch on the forums it is written that the network game does not work because of it. It looked like this for us: I created a server, and on another computer the list of available servers was empty. After restarting the game, everything worked The server should appear in the list almost immediately after the creation of the game, i.e. even before loading the map and choosing a weapon.

I didn't like the game at all. Movement is slow, even running. Switching weapons is also slow: reloading is faster than switching weapons. Changing the position of the body works crookedly: sat down - lay down - got up. The only way! You can’t, for example, sit down - get up, lie down - sit down, etc. The assignment of the control keys is not controlled, i.e. you can assign one button to several actions (in this case, it will not work at all).

Bots. Either they are stupid, or I: I give the command "Follow", and they remain in place. You have to constantly move them with the "Go" or "Cover" commands. Even at the average level of difficulty, they kill quickly and irrevocably. In the event of death, a human player occupies one of the surviving bots, and who exactly cannot be chosen. This changes the weapon / position, i.e. you can start the game with a pistol and an assault rifle, and end with a sniper %) You can't take weapons from the dead.

On the laptop, the game slowed down, maybe you need to set the settings easier. Moreover, the graphics correspond to the year the game was released. I think we won't even try the second part (Advanced Warfighter 2).

Hidden & Dangerous 2 (2003)

This is not a shooter, this is a quest! =) Riddles are everywhere, from how to start co-op mode to finding the right control button. Let's go " Network game - local network". Create a new server. Select the type of game" Joint", add cards for the game, set the parameters of the cooperative mode. Then you still need to dress and equip your fighter. Co-op play not really "on the way". There is no script, there are only a few maps with different tasks to be completed by a group of up to six fighters.

It's boring to play together. If there are not enough players, then bots are not added. Respawn on captured points. Limitation on time and number of lives. Quests/difficulty not balanced. I set the penultimate difficulty level on the map "Libya1" and it turned out to be a game of hide and seek - "two against an army of snipers". On some maps, fully armed infantry and even tanks were deployed against us! These tanks are not only grena, a landmine is not terrible. On the other hand, some tasks require a long, dull running around, without any hints or tips on what to do. Playing on cooperative maps can be equally successful in any number of players, even alone. You can generally scatter to different ends of the map and wage your own war. Of the joint chips, I liked the opportunity to heal each other. However, you can't swap weapons or ammo.

The count is ugly, so there is little pleasure here either. Almost all events take place at night, you have to fire at the moving "cubes" at random. And what to expect from such an old game. I'm sure a single scenario in it is much more interesting. We played pirates with the same CD-key. The addon "Saber Squadron" was sewn into the repack.

Serious Sam 2 (2005)

Starter toy! :)) It's a lot of fun to run together to shoot multi-colored crowds of enemies. There is probably even some kind of scenario, because. in between the meat grinders, some blue little men obsessively stick to us =). The network game is organized without special problems, especially since you can only play on the passage. Pleased with the developed system of setting the complexity. It can be placed on every map, but in doing so, you will have to interrupt the Purge in the Name of Good and exit to the menu. After a few maps, we found a suitable level of difficulty for us.

You can lose after n-tsati lives for each. At the same time, the surviving players (up to 16 people can play in total!) Can continue the fight and avenge the fallen. Tactical actions are unlikely to be applied, if only because the respawn brings to the control point, and there is no time to coordinate the attack again. A couple of times we managed to act in a coordinated manner, which also caused great delight: D A very serious thing "Team fire" (aka "Fire on friendly"). The damage is not bad, you really need to watch where you shoot / throw a grenade.

The graphics are square, but you notice it before the first bullet, then there is no time to be distracted by trifles :). The sound was somehow strangely buggy, namely the music and the voice of our presenter. Although the glitch did not apply to the effects of shooting and explosions. Once a bug was formed: at the beginning of the level, they took out all the enemies, but we can’t go further. Restarting the level helped.

Delta Force Xtreme 2 (2009)

Of the entire Delta Force series, I downloaded this one, believing that it would be more or less modern game. M-yes .. How to put it this way, so as not to hurt the fans of the series in the best feelings? It's a paragraph! The graphics are not in one place, despite the message received at startup like " ABOUT! You have a cool video card! Supports vertex and pixel shaders. I will use as much as possible..". It seems that the opportunity did not come up. Moreover, after the next respawn, the picture was suddenly overgrown with textures ala LSD%), which out of place masked angular enemies behind alphanumeric bushes.

Okay, figs with her with the graph, the main thing is that the game is sincere. This didn't work out either. There is no script for the passage, there are several maps for the coop mode. There is nothing tricky in the network mode settings. At first, I didn’t understand why we are on the map with knives, while the bots are with machine guns o_O. It turned out that it was necessary to select the weapons available for missions in the settings of the multiplayer game (the last tab).

Despite the clear indication in the settings " 2 players", 3 more bots appeared on the map with us. They are stupid so that there is nothing to even compare with. They don’t go anywhere beyond the first place of the fight, they don’t hide, they don’t change their firing position, they just talk on the air. Is it possible to command them, I don’t I didn't find anything similar in the long list of the Directorate. Sobsssno help of bots was not needed, because enemies are killed indecently quickly and easily.

What I didn’t like the most: the respawn occurs at the entry point of the map, despite the passed checkpoints. Moreover, they need to be re-passed so that the direction to the target is updated on the radar. You can't switch weapons while reloading. A thrown grenade lasts so long before the explosion that I almost stepped on it (I thought it was broken%)). Enemy weapons cannot be picked up.

Note: you can play on a local network only by rolling a special patch - DFX2 LANPATCH from RadonX19. Search the internet, it's easy. If you install it, I warn you: when unpacking, you do not need to replace files language.pff And localres.pff otherwise you will get a broken game with a bunch of swearing.

Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter (2009)

Now the picturesque landscapes are complemented by walls smeared with blood, pieces of flesh, like real ones, fly in all directions, a realistic fountain of death beats in flashes of fire from a 6-barreled machine gun. All this under the change of day and night + weather. Here she is, usual life an ordinary paratrooper .. Yes, it's worth playing it again at least for the sake of this update :)

Since the natural craving for free again prevailed over conscience, I downloaded a pirate (Morozov's repack) and a patch for a network game, TeknoSam 1.0. The game did not work over the network: (I downloaded the patch of the second version. It's useless. Another repack .. Zero. In short, after going through all the combinations of two repacks and two versions of the patch, I found a working option: I need a repack of hell-knows-who with a sewn-in pill Skidrow PROPER. There will be an English version of the game with a decoupling from Skidrow. The repack itself turned out to be not working, despite the "Proper": if there is no Steam on the machine, then the launch ends in nothing. If there is, then pirate for some reason the game launches a steam connection o_O.

Don't care, close the whole thing, demolish steam (just in case). Downloading the network patch from Tehnogods. Full title " TeknoSam2.0+SamHD-TFE_Update__7+movement_fix". I did not master all the details, what they have there for seven and how the first version of the patch differs from the second. By unpacking the archive file into a directory with non-working game get everything at once! The game starts up, the network mode works, you can hang a tambourine on the wall :)

Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 (2008)

We got away with it! :D Delivers everything: no problems with lan-connection, quick-witted bots, a normal team management system and your fighter, fair damage to the enemy. The graphics are decent, no frills. Flying bullets, fragments, smoke - everything is as it should be. The picture slowed down a little on too dynamic scenes (fire, grenade explosion), but this maximum settings! There was a jamb on the laptop with sound: the microphone "hears" the speakers, and a multiple echo is obtained. This is a laptop disease, they did not play. By the way, this problem is solved in it by disabling voice chat.

This game must be played in a company :) Scenario for the passage: corridor war of special forces with terrorists of the type " fighting in the city". Verbal communication with a partner helps a lot (of course, we are sitting in the same room, so as not to communicate =)). We will coordinate the position and actions and .. go ahead! Bots, of course, get confused in places, not without it, but sometimes very successfully are in the right place at the right time.

"Saves" walkthrough network company written to all machines. This is very convenient, because the request " Let me command!"It is enough to exit the game on checkpoint, and log in again with the creation of the server on another machine. Who is the server, he is the captain. In this case, the character remains assigned to the player's computer. Very convenient :) Another plus: in case of loss of connection with the server, for example, "Minimized the window", the game world freezes, but the disconnection does not occur. Communication returned - the battle continues.

Conflict: Denied Ops (2008)

I have two feelings about this game. I'll post everything I noticed, and arrange the pros / cons yourself :). Graphics .. well, there is some kind of picture, very simple without subtle details. The Russian translation cuts the ear with the teenage voice of one of the fighters and the lack of emotions. The game on the local network is configured without problems, the main thing is to jump in the right direction through the menu. There are a lot of menus, be patient. Management is also configurable, but somehow kosyachno.

The game has two characters. One is a sniper, the other is an attack aircraft with a machine gun. You can change before starting the next mission. There is a walkthrough for two, but there is no script as such. All tasks like "fly there, make a rustle", "need sabotage there", "rescue operation at the end of the world", etc.

In the course of completing tasks, ridiculous bells and whistles are added to the current weapon. For example, on sniper rifle clings underbarrel shotgun(WTF?!), and on the machine gun - an underbarrel grenade launcher. A certain camera is also hung on the sniper, allowing you to fire from around the corner, simply sticking out the rifle on your bent arm! Aimed shooting from a rifle, a pistol with a silencer and a machine gun has the same accuracy. Switching between weapons is slow, but there is usually nowhere to rush.

By controlling a fighter, you can crouch, lie down or move while standing. You can also shoot by sticking your head around the corner. In the event of a critical wound, the partner must save the wounded comrade for certain time. If one or both fighters died, the mission failed, we start again. The enemy can be shot in different parts of the body, the hits add up to the overall picture of the defeat. In close combat, you can move the enemy with the butt. There are some enemies that can withstand a double headshot!

Inversion (2012)

I can't get over this creation. Scenario for two, I played with a bot, because The laptop didn't run the game. What we have according to the scenario: a frank zakos under Gears of War! And this is for the best, I tell you :) The same cover system, similar weapons, hand-to-hand combat, throwing grenades, crowds of enemies in ambushes .. Even the heroes in size resemble those same fighters. In short, everything is the same, only the script is more dramatic and the opponents are people too.

There is, of course, its own zest - gravity control, but this is not for everyone. Without using it, the game cannot be completed, but personally I rarely used gravilinka chips. In my opinion, this game is inferior to GoW in terms of graphics and I didn’t like the Russian voice acting. However, Inversion is worth attention and hours of life spent on it;)

Everything else is in theory. There is a local network connection, somehow the players must find each other (I did not find any explicit settings in the script). In theory, coordinated actions with a real partner will be more reasonable than a bot sticking out of place. And maybe then tricks with gravity will open up new tactical moves for both players. And it will also be possible to treat each other .. theoretically :)

It turns out that the game is full of bugs, and on the Internet there is a lure for an existing patch, which cannot be downloaded. There are also various recommendations, including the one written on the game's website, on how to deal with graphics bugs. Tried everything - without success.

Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 (2007)

1. The laptop did not pull the game. Even on the lowest settings of everything that is possible, it turned out to squeeze out 24fps at the training level. At the same time, it was not the picture that slowed down, but the game reaction to my actions. For example, I press shooting, it starts in ~0.8 sec. Specially compared with the reaction on the computer - everything is in order there.

2. As in the previous part, everything is slow. The fighter mostly walks, now you can change the stance arbitrarily, but it's still somehow inconvenient. You can’t quickly switch weapons, since the number keys are assigned to command control. You have to press the button and scroll the mice in the list of weapons. The selection of team management orders is just as slow - by scrolling the mouse. Maybe the game is conceived like that, like there are no dynamic moments, you can blunt, spread your strength, but I don’t like such slow paces.

3. It was not possible to test on the grid. There was a pirate v1.05 available and on the slave machine it crashed with an error when connecting to the server. Given points 1 and 2, I did not delve into why the error.

Painkiller Hell & Damnation (2012)

A remake of the notorious 2004 game. The game partially remained the same, the textures were updated somewhere, the soundtrack was slightly changed, in my opinion for the worse, perhaps some enemies were redrawn. But all this is on the side, the main thing is now it can be passed together. At medium settings, the laptop pulled the game (of course, it is so old!), And the span was formed when trying to connect to the network. The computers do not see each other: (There is an official update1 for the game, which in particular should fix the LAN connection problem, but it did not help me.

It's time to take stock of the past 2016. Especially for Coop-Land users, our editors, as it happens from year to year, have prepared top cooperative games focused on . Plus a couple of bonus games for our taste.

10th place

Opens our golden parade, leaving behind a lot of equally high-quality games. Created by an American indie studio and inspired by the hardcore series, the game offers an original take on genres.

From the outside, minimalist and even light, the game is overly complex, which is revealed during the gameplay. Enemies have a lot of health, and the hero knows how to lose all the accumulated items when he dies. The proposed co-op for four people paints the game, which tends to complicate the gameplay with an increase in the squad.

For a pleasant visual style and a deceptive look, it receives a well-deserved tenth place among the best co-op games of 2016.

9th place

Received the lion's share of votes in and well appreciated by our editors, unfortunately, did not show the players a new cooperative or multiplayer experience, even despite the high-quality gameplay transformations and fundamental changes in the plot.

The cooperative mode seems to be created for show and does not carry any individual features along with it. It is presented in the form of a joint passage of minor missions such as capture or hacking, and this is only for two people. It is worth noting that in such a rich setting it would be possible to make an interesting and versatile cooperative mode corresponding to the big name, but this opportunity was simply ignored.

The genre of post-apocalyptic survival with a harsh zombie theme has not gone out of fashion, and this is a clear confirmation of this. After going through a tough year-long beta test, the game reached its release with a bunch of new nice features: full co-op, updated locations, and a new crafting system.

The implemented cooperative mode will allow players to work together to build bases, study the game map and survive in a real zombie apocalypse. Despite the declared convenience, the network aspect has one unpleasant property: the promised maximum amount players - these are 16 people - can only be reached through connecting four groups that are in the mode to a common host.

But even with such conventions, it is a good cooperative game, for which it gets eighth place our rating.

The best farming simulation game in existence has proven to be highly acclaimed in the series, with a growing fan base and a much sought-after gameplay for the genre. So, he confidently entered our top cooperative games, leaving behind a dozen boring shooters and sandboxes.

A specific multiplayer mode, which is not based on any competitive nature, will allow ten players to create a working collective farm: rent land together, engage in plowing and construction, and get carried away with crop and animal husbandry. It would seem that such a passive gameplay only leads to discouragement, but in fact, massiveness different functions gives the player great interest and motivation.

For the variety of in-game elements and some originality, seventh place our cooperative chart.

Both modes are tied to the team interaction of five people and are set to complicate the gameplay: the larger the squad, the smarter the enemy becomes.

2016 did not do without fantasy Rogue-RPGs, gameplay similar to or. Fortunately, the presented game turned out to be of really high quality and even adored by fans of this genre: starting from the very release, it gets good marks from the players and the press.

The proposed co-op for four people fits perfectly with the storyline, revealing the characters and their characteristics in detail - this creates motivation to conquer the cruel game world in the company of friends. Also of interest is the division of characters into classes, in the basic state there are six of them. Customizable skills and long development branches provide the ability to customize your profile, which greatly hones cooperative interaction.

4th place

The Spanish stealth action game created by a small group of enthusiasts from Lince Works gave the player a pleasant atmosphere of an oriental fairy tale, mixing bright red blood, black night and Japanese folklore in its setting. Such a palette put it among the most colorful cooperative games of the outgoing year.

The visual style, characterized by prominent lines and contrasts, perfectly complements the co-op for two people. The gameplay mode does not offer anything new: players remain with the same range of abilities, and enemies do not become smarter. But in the process, ways of collaborative interaction that are implicit and hidden in the single player mode are revealed - they give the game variety and interest.

According to our editors, the title of the best cooperative game of 2016 deserves a small, simple, but painfully eye-catching game that offers a joint story walkthrough for four people in mode .

Architecturally, the game does not have any complex elements, its principle is simple and clear. But the gameplay process is hardcore and even hostile towards the player, which is not at all a minus in a cooperative passage. High speed, tons of tasks and lack of time - all this together makes the gameplay fun and even funny.

All the running around is harmoniously complemented by locations and conditions for their passage. On a large story map, the main places looming from which even goosebumps run: the vents of volcanoes, pirate ships, lost islands, long highways, ice blocks - each location causes a certain number of conditions. So, the sea is pretty rocking, and the ice is really slippery.

With many hours of play, our editorial team confidently declares that it is the dominant but underestimated contender for the best co-op game of the past 2016.

3rd place

Bald Lo Wang, diligently copying the image of a charismatic and brutal hero, judging by the high marks of our gaming community, nevertheless fell in love and was accepted. Its bloody brutality, cold skill and caustic remarks placed it in the top three co-op games.

The sequel to the comparatively disastrous 2013 Shadow Warrior, the game has literally broken into first-class ratings through some gameplay and story transformations. So, the locations, the arsenal, the enemies and the character himself got under a minor alteration: the map became bigger and brighter, the weapons got new trashy devices, the infernal creatures clearly diversified and bred, and the hero learned new tricks, became more precise and honed his black humor.

2nd place

The plot of Tom Clancy, as usual full of ideas about political conspiracies and overflowing with the author's thought about a difficult alternative reality, placed players in a snowy and dead New York, broken by a severe pandemic. The players liked this post-apocalyptic setting and ended up appearing in our top.

The game world, locally divided into PvE and PvP zones, provides players with a huge springboard for cooperative and competitive gameplay. Actors - agents - regularly receive different kind tasks, but often it all comes down to a punitive sweep certain place. Entire factions of bandits, the so-called cleaners, mercenaries and similar killers of various stripes act as enemies.

But the gameplay, boring in words, turns into a fun joint company with friends. With a small group, you can make raids, explore locations, complete quests and, most fun, conquer the Dark Zone, which is dominated by PvP. In such multiplayer operations, you can achieve maximum team cohesion, using not only high-tech gadgets, but also joint interaction tactics to defeat other players.

| Dark Souls 3 featured a fat, unquestioning and bitter point in the plot for the fan Dark Souls.

The gameplay has undergone some qualitative changes, to which the fans of the series have responded positively. The game has become more dynamic - this was facilitated by the introduction of new dexterous classes, an increase in attack and movement speed, and the development of an even greater dependence of the combat on the location. So, along with the dynamics, the complexity increased: the bosses became tougher, their weapons sharpened, and main character on the contrary weakened.

But there is a way out of such a seemingly hopeless situation, and it lies in the usual co-op for the series. Dark dungeons are illuminated with fiery clues, and the souls of the dead run from time to time in strange and dubious alleys, warning of impending danger. The idyll is complemented by phantoms, who, at the call of an artifact, come to the rescue in an unequal battle with some bloodthirsty dragon. Such a multiplayer experience remains symbolic and enjoyable for any Dark Souls fan.

Bonus: ugly duckling

In 2016, a game was released that had great potential in the implementation of a cooperative company, but, unfortunately, sadly failed due to the lack of some promised aspects and an outrageously small number of story and cooperative missions.
