Reading prayers connects a person with their creators: psalmists and ascetics. It helps to find spirituality akin to their heartfelt burning. In praying in other people's words, the example for us is the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. His prayer cries during the suffering of the Cross are lines from the Psalms (Psalm 21: 2; 30: 6).

There are three basic prayer rules:
