You should pay attention to one more feature of the literature exam. In accordance with the rules, KIMs can include not only poems included in school curriculum. If a poet is included in the codifier, any of his poems can be offered for analysis. And this is legitimate - since mini-essays on a poetic passage should demonstrate the examinee’s ability to analyze the text independently, and not remember the corresponding paragraph of the textbook. In 2016, “non-program” poems appeared in many versions of KIMs, and, most likely, this trend will continue in 2017.

Unified State Examination in Biology - radical changes in 2017, exclusion of the test part and increase in duration

  • the total number of tasks will decrease from 40 to 28;

  • the primary score is reduced to 59 (in 2017 it was 61);

  • The time to complete the work is increased by half an hour, the duration of the exam will be 210 minutes.

Unified State Examination in a foreign language – practically unchanged

This conflicts with the purpose of this task, which tests the ability to fully and accurately describe a specific photograph.


Therefore, the task will be clarified. Thus, in the Unified State Examination in Language in 2017, the word Imagine is excluded from the wording, and the word present is changed to describe. Similar changes will be made to KIMs for other foreign languages ​​- so that it is clear that we are talking specifically about describing a picture, and not a “story based on it”.

According to the developers (their position was represented by the head Federal CommissionSergey Zinin, author and current version of the Unified State Exam), the changes are in no way revolutionary. The new model is more than successive to the old one. What changes are proposed?

1. Short answer tasks are excluded. As the developers explained, these tasks do not pose any difficulty for today’s schoolchildren; everyone is now well versed in the terms, so the tasks have lost their distinctive meaning.

By the way, literature is the first subject that proposes to abandon not only multiple-choice tests (this was done a long time ago), but also open-type tests (where the answer must be given in one word or as a sequence of numbers).

2. The number of tasks of the student's choice has been increased. Now he will be able to choose not only the topic of the “big essay” (by the way, there will be four of them instead of three), but also one of the options for the first and third tasks. For example, having received B. Okudzhava’s poem “The sentries of love on Smolenskaya stand...”, he can decide which question is more interesting for him to answer:

“What is the attitude of the lyrical hero of the poem to the “great eternal army” of lovers?” or “What role does anaphora play in the poem?”

3. Comparison tasks have been simplified. If now in one of the Unified State Exam tasks the proposed text needs to be compared with two texts (and thereby show your reading and philological horizons), now you are asked to remember only one text for comparison.

4. The length of the essay in the fifth task has been increased from 200 to 250 words. In general

the student must write 4 mini-papers of 50 words and an essay of 250 words, that is, at least 450 words.

5. The verification criteria have been clarified. It is precisely according to the new criteria that experts have the most questions (for example, is it worth introducing a mandatory citation requirement into the criteria - what then to do with voluminous epic works?). Both at the meeting and during testing, many wishes were expressed regarding the criteria - one must assume that by August the developers will take into account some of the proposals.

6. Instructions for exam takers have been improved.

But, firstly, the idea and position are far from synonymous, and secondly, there are endless scientific disputes about the author’s position in almost any work - and what point of view should the student express then? And is it known to anyone for certain? "author's position"(let alone the idea)?

Unclear and vague wording of questions.

For example, after reading a fragment of “The Inspector General,” the student must answer the question “What in the above fragment indicates the real state of affairs in the city?” This “what” question is unclear. Will it be enough to write in response to it - “ words such and such"- and list these words?

5. The migration of exam topics to the December essay also raises concerns. How are such, for example, formulations from demo versions of the Unified State Exam “Which of the characters in Tolstoy’s novel “War and Peace” is most interesting to you and why?” or "Pages of history in Russian literature"? Is it necessary to duplicate in the Unified State Exam ( profile exam) December essay (meta-subject exam for everyone)? The difference in verification criteria does not make a difference here. A representative of Moscow State University even called for the introduction of special elective tasks of increased complexity into the Unified State Examination for future philologists, which may not be completed by, say, future designers or actors - in order to burden the former and not pester the latter with unnecessary things.

At the meeting, concerns were even expressed that the bar for the exam was being lowered and that it was possible to pass it without reading the school curriculum (or having become familiar with it through brief retellings). The developers did not agree with this, although the same Sergei Zinin told a story about some 100-point Unified State Exam student who, speaking to the guys going for testing, admitted that she was preparing for the Unified State Exam based on brief retellings...

And today there are a dozen writers who are in demand, write about the here and now in a normal, understandable language - they should be read in school in parallel with the classics...

But I don’t understand how today’s schoolchildren should read Dostoevsky. I myself started reading it at the age of 25 and did not enjoy it. Monstrously sloppy in language and depressed. To read it you need a stable nervous system. Therefore, at school we can limit ourselves to a lecture on Dostoevsky, where we sketch out the outline - ideological, philosophical, artistic - and then leave it to the student for the future.” Mikhail Weller concluded his speech with words about the destructiveness of "universal dispatch educational process» (and the Unified State Exam is one of the elements of such “dispatching”) and called for questions to be posed in the exam in such a way as to “so that my head turns on.”

“Everything that works against living thought and interest is bad for literature.”

Weller's speech (and the very invitation to the meeting) was quite unexpected for such a meeting - perhaps that is why his speech was met with silence and did not raise a single question. The experts were more interested in the specifics of the demo than in discussions about the crisis of civilization and liberal arts education. Which is partly a pity, because important words the need for “real work” is somehow forgotten when we fall into the logic of the Unified State Exam. There are more and more boxes of forms, criteria points, metal detector frames, waiting for appeals...

Be that as it may, the very openness of the discussion cannot but rejoice. For this, thanks to both the developers and FIPI as a whole. Deciding on such a discussion is not easy - after all, a negative reaction to everything new is predictable, and it is not always constructive. The slowness of the movement is also pleasing - after all, there is a whole year to comprehend the proposal. It is now important to participate in the online discussion, which, we remind you, will begin in August.
