Anatoly Nagiyev was born in Siberia in the city of Angarsk, and soon moved with his parents to Kursk region. Detention and escapes
The killer was detained thanks to his friend, to whom Nagiyev gave a ring taken from the hand of one of his victims. He put the woman's jewelry on his finger and could no longer take it off. For help, the man went to a jeweler, who, suspecting something was wrong, immediately called the police.
Nagiyev was captured at the beginning of September 1980. However, the maniac did not intend to give up. One day, thanks to his physical strength, he broke the handcuffs and jumped out of the window of the pre-trial detention center. He probably would have walked free for a long time if six employees of the same pre-trial detention center had not been on the street at that moment. They quickly captured the fugitive.
In 1981, Anatoly Nagiyev was sentenced to death. But the Madman, who took so many human lives, was himself terribly afraid of death. To carry out the punishment, it was decided to transport the criminal to the Novocherkassk prison. Having got off the train along with other prisoners, Nagiyev suddenly rushed across the passing train and disappeared in an unknown direction.

Pugachev was saved by a miracle

Escape from the other world
On the night of August 19, 1981, the train arrived at the Khotunok station (outskirts of Novocherkassk) with a great delay. The prisoners were moved from the carriage to the platform. The guards handed over the convoy from hand to hand to the employees of the Novocherkassk prison. The carriage was driven to a siding. A freight train rumbled along the vacated branch, picking up speed. And then Nagiyev, rushing off the platform, jumped in front of the train! Either the eternal Russian sloppiness lulled the vigilance of the guards, or the guardian demon helped Nagiyev - one way or another, he had a chance to escape. Upon arrival in Novocherkassk, no one bothered to look into his escort: Inclined to escape. Prone to attack. Nagiyev's hands were handcuffed in front, and not behind his back. They gave three days to catch the fugitive. Operation Siren began in the Rostov region and surrounding areas. The outskirts of Novocherkassk were combed especially carefully. A lot of leaflets were posted around the city, and train stations were cordoned off. Disguised operatives were on duty on the trains. But the maniac disappeared into thin air. Almost a month has passed, many suggested stopping the search, says Ivan Zatsepin, deputy head of the regional criminal investigation department. - The search dog, which was used to comb the fields near the escape site, died from the heat. The people's strength was also running out. The headquarters that led the search for Nagiyev was located in the regional department of the Industrial District of Novocherkassk. At half past eight in the morning on September 29, the headquarters received a call from the Yanovo farm near the city. The vigilante called.
Driving past Yanov on a motorcycle, he was stopped by a local resident. A peasant noticed smoke coming from a haystack near his house. I decided: the boys are playing around. But no - a hole was dug in the haystack. Someone equipped a home for themselves. Inside are dishes, meager provisions, men's and women's clothing, and a homemade calendar. A piece of roofing felt on which someone marked the days. It began on August 19, the day of the escape. Zatsepin immediately contacted the prison and Rostov: he demanded that 10 dog handlers be sent immediately. The order was: carefully check every house, every barn. They were even ordered to look into the cesspools. People with weapons in their hands turned around in front of one and a half kilometers and began to descend from the mountain to the farm. And in Yanov they had a wedding, they walked like Cossacks - wide, noisy, drunk. And this wedding, oddly enough, helped the search. The tipsy men went outside to smoke and saw a gypsy woman walking towards them. Yes, it’s kind of strange: the shoulders are wide, the legs are strong, hairy. And it must be said that in the last month things have begun to disappear from farmers, which was not the case before. Either someone is rummaging in the cellars, or someone is stealing laundry from the line.
One of the smokers became enraged when he saw the gypsy: Oh, you!.. Picking up the hem, she began to run away in a completely unladylike manner. Things in the farmstead, as it later turned out, disappeared with Nagiyev’s light hand. And it was he who disguised himself as a gypsy, trying to get out of the encirclement in this guise. But, to my misfortune, I met with a wedding. The police caught up with Nagiyev at a pigsty on the outskirts of the farm. Seeing the sawn-off shotgun in the hands of the fugitive, they opened fire...
Zatsepin says: I’ll be honest, I was a little scared: was he shot? But I remembered Nagiyev’s special sign: Finding himself in an extreme situation, he becomes lost, his eyeballs begin to rotate. In prison, a prison doctor was working on the body of a particularly dangerous repeat offender. And a couple of days later he was transferred from the ward to a cell, where he again began his training. The sentence remained the same - capital punishment. He was carried out. Nagiyev was buried in a grave with an inventory number - there are no tombstones or nameplates on these. There was no such prisoner in Novocherkassk either before or after Nagiyev,” says Zatsepin. “Even experienced jailers considered him almost a fiend from hell.” One of his guards told me: I can’t be near him. But somehow the documentary makers did not bother to ask the operatives of Novocherkassk investigative prison No. 3, who took part in the capture of the criminal, for details. Meanwhile, their version differs in many ways from the official, “police” one. It’s a pity, you can’t ask Nagiyev himself... Although, we found something to regret...
Who is Anatoly Guseinovich Nagiyev, who at the age of twenty-three received a prison sentence for the brutal murder of four people? By the standards of “decent prisoners” - “nobody, not even a name.” From the point of view of the zone - scum, an animal. From Dagestan, born in poor family, father, it seems, is Ingush, mother is Kazakh. Tolya’s height barely reached 157 centimeters and, like many short teenagers, he sought to compensate for the lack of heights with other qualities that would give him authority among his friends. Such a “compensator” for Nagiyev was physical strength. The boy fanatically went in for sports, achieved success in athletic gymnastics, and had remarkable strength. He graduated from school with ease, and by the age of sixteen he had trained as a projectionist.
But in 1975, his free life suddenly ended. 17-year-old Nagiyev received six years in prison under one of the most shameful articles of the Criminal Code - Article 117 (rape). Perhaps Anatoly did not enjoy success with the weaker sex, and on this basis he developed a complex of sexual inferiority. The girl refused his advances, and the guy lost his temper, considering such an act an act of contempt for the “dwarf.” But the fact remains: the Dagestan guy “roared” in the Komi Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. Among prisoners, these zones are considered especially harsh, and going there from 117 is dangerous for health and sexual innocence. As a rule, a “hot boy” was turned into a camp “girl.” And no amount of physical strength could help protect oneself from the force of “prisoner justice.” It is possible that the same thing happened to Nagiyev and completely damaged his psyche. He told this story to the Kursk investigators who detained him in 1981, and later to the Rostov police officers and the “operators” from the Novocherkassk prison. How close the story is to reality - who knows... In the verdict of the Kursk court of July 2, 1981, there is not a word about the “hunt for Pugacheva.” But even without that, twenty-three-year-old Nagiyev Anatoly Guseinovich got himself into trouble: he was sentenced to an exceptional punishment - execution.

Few people want to die at 23. Nagiyev was definitely not one of those people. Nagiyev received the nickname Borzoy from the duty officers. And in the Caucasian’s personal file there was an entry: “Prone to escape and attack administration employees.” With such a nice description, the maniac was taken to the Novocherkassk “execution” prison.
In Stolypin, medical devices occupy single compartment cells, separated from the corridor by a strong lattice with 5x5 cells. The convoy watched Nagiyev especially vigilantly: they don’t like Caucasian criminals at all, let alone “suicide bombers” with such an “escort”...
The “passengers” were received by an oncoming prison convoy at Khotunok station near Novocherkassk (not far from maximum security prison No. 14). Next to the station building there is an exchange office - a trailer lined with brick. Here prisoners are distributed among paddy wagons. Some are traveling in a convoy to the other end of Mother Russia, others are going for re-investigation. And someone is in last way. There is a special attitude towards such people. No less than three of them enter the carriage cell, always the chief of the military guard and the chief of the prison guard. Those "executed" are supposed to lock the handcuffs behind their backs and be escorted, isolated from everyone else, to a separate "funnel". That's what was planned this time too.
But the Stolypin, which arrived late at night on August 19, 1981 at Khotunok, was seriously behind schedule. Both chiefs of the guard - the military one and the prison guard - were in a hurry to complete the unpleasant procedure. The bulk of the prisoners were driven onto the platform and made to squat. Nagiyev was the last to be taken out. There was a hitch in the cell with the replacement of handcuffs. The military convoy has its own handcuffs, strong, such “pieces of iron” cannot be removed without a key. The jailers have simpler “bracelets”, for use inside the “thorn”; an experienced prisoner will open it with a nail.

And then the unexpected happened...
The fact is that the train arrived on the middle line; several inactive tracks separated it from the station building, and on the other side of the carriage there were active tracks. Behind them is a field, a residential area, in the distance is the village of Donskoy, next to it is the floodplain of the Tuzlovka River, then a bridge.
It is at this point in the story that the first legend about the daring “runner” arises. A veteran of the Don investigation, police colonel Amir Sabitov, during the events described - the deputy head of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Rostov Region, stated it as follows:

Several clarifications will have to be made to this tale about the prison “Karenin”. Neither Sabitov nor other police officers were eyewitnesses to the escape, and over the years, apparently, the past was shrouded in a romantic aura for them. Meanwhile, eyewitnesses and documents indicate otherwise. Everything was much simpler - although no less daring. They didn’t have time to drive the carriage anywhere. Nagiyev, who was squatting with his back to the train, with his heightened hearing, caught a train approaching Khotunk along the track that followed the stationary train. Lights flashed in the distance. The roar of the trains is getting closer... And then the suicide bomber, calculating when the train has come very close, dives under the standing carriage, and then runs across the track right in front of the rushing electric locomotive! And he rushed into the field, behind a residential area. They only saw him...
***Gypsy with a pitchfork, the road is long
The escape of a suicide bomber from under escort in those years is scarier than the movie horror story “I lost my membership card.” The case was taken under personal control by the Minister of Internal Affairs Nikolai Shchelokov. “I give you three days to catch him!” - ordered the stern minister. The then deputy head of the regional criminal investigation department, Ivan Zatsepin, recalled that the search dog, which was used to comb the fields near the escape site, died from the heat. By the beginning of the second month, some suggested curtailing the search: the “runner” was put on the all-Union wanted list - and okay. There were rumors that Nagiyev had already reached distant Turkey... But it turned out that Tolik the maniac did not swim to Turetchina, but set up a rookery nearby. And here another misunderstanding with police stories begins.
According to Sabitov, on the morning of September 29, information was received from a vigilante from the Yanovka village. One of the local residents showed him a cache in a haystack: with dishes, meager provisions, men's and women's clothing and a homemade calendar on a piece of tar paper. It began on August 19 - the day of the escape. The farmers also reported that several times they saw nearby either a short Caucasian man in a torn tracksuit or a suspicious gypsy woman with crooked hair. hairy legs. In addition, in the village someone began to tear clothes off the lines and climb into the cellars.
Further, according to the memoirs of police officer Ivan Zatsepin, he contacted the prison and Rostov and demanded a dozen dog handlers with dogs. We decided to check everything, even cesspools. People with weapons in their hands turned around in front of one and a half kilometers and began to descend from the mountain into the farm (according to another version, the police surrounded the farm and began to tighten the ring). And in Yanovka there was a Cossack wedding. The tipsy men allegedly saw and scared away the mysterious bandy-legged gypsy, and the police chased Nagiyev, who was trying to “get out of encirclement” in such a cunning way, to a pigsty on the outskirts of the farm, where they shot him point-blank, seeing a sawed-off shotgun in his hands. Zatsepin claims that the criminal, who had received mortal wounds, lay unconscious in front of him, but with his eyes open - terrible, crawling out of their sockets...
Veteran Amir Sabitov (who himself was not present at the arrest) tells a slightly different story. In his version, the wedding disappears, but a police lieutenant, platoon commander of the patrol service Nikolai Efremenko from Novocherkassk appears. When his carriage was approaching Yanovka, they were stopped by the driver of a white Volga coming towards him and announced that a suspicious guy in women’s clothing was hiding in the bushes nearby. Efremenko’s group allegedly discovered Nagiyev in thorny bushes. He started to run, despite numerous warnings from the policeman: “Stop, I’ll shoot without warning!” However, the disciplined lieutenant did not shoot, but ran in pursuit, overtook the prisoner and again began to convince him that if something happened, he could shoot. To which Nagiyev first took out a cleaver and began to threaten the brave Efremenko, and when he fired into the air, the urkagan pulled out a sawn-off shotgun from his belt. That’s when the lieutenant accurately hit Nagiyev’s forearm with three bullets. But even after this, the wounded maniac fought with frenzy, scattering Nikolai Goncharov, head of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Industrial District of Novocherkassk, and Igor Isaev, an employee of the Criminal Internal Affairs Directorate of the Rostov Region, who jumped to the aid. Only five of them managed to subdue the villain. This is how Sabirov describes it: “With difficulty, the operatives twisted his hands behind his back. A screaming, desperately squirming criminal was squeezed into a patrol car..."
So what really is: was Nogiev lying unconscious or fighting and performing Caucasian dances?
But there is a third party: operatives of the Novocherkassk investigative prison ST-3 and the opera of the Rostov UITU (Department of Correctional Labor Institutions, now the Federal Penitentiary Service). The brave police somehow completely forget that the “jailers” participated in the search and capture of Nagiyev along with the “colored”...
And absolutely wonderful details emerged.
– In fact, we took Nagiyev! - said prison operatives. “Information has arrived that someone unknown is hiding in the haystack—either a man or a woman.” A capture group headed by Nikolai Vinnikov, the then chief of the regime and security of ST-3, immediately left. At that time he was 35–36 years old. It was necessary to act immediately. They slammed this freak not far from the haystack. He was definitely wearing some kind of woman's rags. He jumped out himself when the group had already approached almost closely. What kind of sawn-off shotgun is there, where did it come from?! Zechara rushed straight at Vinnikov with either a pitchfork or a shovel. Well, with something worker-peasant. Kolya, without thinking twice, loaded the entire clip of PM into it. They thought it was a suicide bomber. The sentence was carried out a little earlier than expected. It’s a pity, not a single bullet hit the head...

The jailers' version largely coincides with the story of opera Ivan Zatsepin, who participated in the detention of Nagiyev. Zatsepin also clearly states that the fugitive was unconscious. And in an essay about Nagiyev’s escape, journalist Andrei Berezhnoy (also from the words of eyewitnesses) writes that “in prison, a prison doctor worked over the body of a particularly dangerous repeat offender. He worked lazily, because with all the soul of a good man who had seen a lot, he wished this body a speedy death. Suffice it to say that the doctor scooped out the blood from Nagiyev’s stomach with an ordinary cut glass.” It’s somehow hard to imagine that you can use a cut glass to scoop out blood from the forearm that the brave policeman Efremenko allegedly struck.
Workers of the prison system also recall: the “suicide bomber” was in in serious condition, and no one believed that he would survive. However, after a week Nagiyev began to rise. And soon I felt almost cheerful.
This man (if you can call him that) had a violent thirst to live. And at the same time there was a wild fear of death. Nagiyev was constantly tuned to new escape: he will definitely come up with something - if only there is enough time! But there wasn't enough time.
They say that on the night when he was taken from the cell “for execution,” a twisted Caucasian man managed to attack one of the controllers and bit off his knuckle! I hoped that this would be counted as a new crime, that they would take him to trial, and then fate would give him a chance. And this time the main thing is not to miss it!
...The controller's finger was quickly bandaged.
“Well, load the bitch,” the stern officer with evil eyes muttered, pointing his finger at Nagiyev. - “Voronok” is waiting. Some will smear green paint on their finger, and some on their forehead,” he joked gloomily.
“Smearing your forehead with brilliant green” means shooting. Why lubricate? And so that the bullet does not cause infection...
And the maniac realized: this is the finish line. And that was really the finish.

Criminals managed to escape at all times. But there was always a real hunt for them. Especially if we were talking about dangerous and brutal killers, like that time in 1981.
One August night in 1981, the criminal investigation department of our police department was put on alert. Its entire staff gathered in the office of chief Ivan Bikhert. Usually this alarm is raised only in exceptional cases. Entering the office, we realized that this was a serious matter.
Bichert was smoking a pipe and was noticeably nervous. One of the best young detectives, Anatoly Tochenny, asked: “Ivan Ivanovich, what happened?” He replied: “The entire police force of the Soviet Union, internal troops and even some army units have been put on alert.”
Everyone was stunned, because this was the first time in our memory. Even detective veterans Nikolai Avtushin, Vladimir Tsyganov, and the head of the search himself had not encountered such an extreme situation.

We were informed: a certain Anatoly Nagiyev escaped, serial maniac, sentenced by the Kursk Regional Court to death for the murders of six women. And he fled when he was transferred to the Rostov region to carry out his death sentence. At that time, there were no shortage of execution prisons with personnel trained to carry out sentences: one of them was the investigative prison in Novocherkassk.
From Bikhert’s words, we learned that Anatoly Nagiyev was convicted and served a sentence on the territory of the Komi Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. He had extensive connections in the republic, including in the capital, Syktyvkar.
Then we all realized that these addresses had to be blocked, and as we later found out, if my memory serves me correctly, there were four of them: in Lesozavod, two on Kataev Street and one on Karl Marx, in standard two-story wooden buildings.

Famous maniac Tolya Nagiyev
Born in 1958 into a family of a Dagestani man and a Kazakh woman, Anatoly lived a short and full of hardships. Perhaps it was the wretchedness of life, the lack of parental care, love and affection that contributed to the fact that a true devil in the flesh was formed from a child richly endowed with various talents. The kind that his own mother feared.
Anatoly Nagiyev, who early discovered a penchant for droromania (vagrancy), loved roads, moving, he did not worry about where he would spend the night and what he would eat. Nagiyev hated a calm, measured life and dreamed of entering a circus school - a rather unexpected desire for a teenager of those times.
But it was precisely the desire to make a career in the circus that encouraged him to do a lot of sports - gymnastics and weightlifting - thanks to which by the age of 15 he became very strong physically.
Already in adolescence Nagiyev discovered a strong sexual feeling and the need to realize it through gross physical aggression. Subsequently, he himself explained this by saying that such were the customs of the life around him, they say, everyone did it. According to him, “at the age of 14 there were no more girls.”
First arrest. 1975
In May 1975, Nagiyev raped a laboratory assistant at the local SGPTU. The girl didn’t report it to the police and the rapist got away with it. In June there was another rape, again without consequences, and then a third.
And here the algorithm was broken - the victim (Nagiyev’s classmate rural school) did not want to be a “victim” and reported rape to the police. So Nagiyev himself found himself in the role of a victim. He was imprisoned for 6 years, although he was a minor. Nowadays, a minor serial rapist would receive a suspended sentence for such a thing.
According to the customs and morals of that time, Nagiyev should have fallen into the category of “lowered” “mashas” and “natashkas” - his youth, short stature and shameful article turned him into an ideal object for rape, but the almost incredible happened - Nagiyev managed to repel all the attacks of adults criminals.
The irrepressible thirst for blood and the readiness to escalate the conflict amazed even people who are quite difficult to surprise with such things. During his stay “in the zone” Nagiyev received the nickname “Mad”.
However, he was a good boy before the administration of the colony and the administration believed that Anatoly Guseinovich “successfully embarked on the path of correction.” In January 1979, he was released “to settlement.” He got a job in the village. Chikshino is 32 km away. southwest of Pechora, where I constantly went to visit friends and girlfriends.
Nagiyev was almost free, and freedom awakened the long-dormant need for sexual violence. On January 30, literally two weeks after leaving the settlement, he killed Demyanenko and was afraid of what he had done. Nagiyev was sure that he would be quickly “figured out,” but as the days and weeks passed, it became clear to the killer that he had gotten away with everything.

The next murder turned out to be much more sophisticated. On May 28, 1979, Nagiyev boarded the Ukhta-Pechora train without a ticket, paying the conductor a ruble. The train at the end of the route was already almost empty; the duration of the trip barely exceeded 40 minutes.
However, this time was enough for Nagiyev to meet Daria Kravchenko, an accountant at the Sosnogorsk construction and installation department, who was heading to the city of Pechora on a business trip, and... invite her to have sex.
Quickly and without any fuss. The woman, of course, felt insulted and refused the cynically expressed proposal. Nagiyev, in a rage, first stabbed her in the chest twice with a knife, and then strangled her with a silk muffler thrown over her shoulders. And after that he had coitus with the corpse.
After this, the killer robbed the corpse - he took three gold rings and earrings with pearls. Then Nagiyev hid the body in the luggage compartment under the seat and moved to the next carriage. Upon arrival in Pechora, he calmly got off the train.
The killer safely got rid of the things taken from Daria Kravchenko’s body and calmly continued to live in Chikshino until his release in November 1979. He was released early as a criminal who had taken the path of reform. Instead of the 6 years imposed by the sentence, Nagiyev served 4.5 years in prison and returned to the Kursk region to his family.
In the period from mid-November 1979 to mid-September 1980 (i.e. 10 months), Nagiyev committed a large number of- more than 30 attacks on women for the purpose of robbery and rape. The greatest furor was caused by the mass murder on the Kharkov-Moscow train, committed by Nagiyev on the night of July 4, 1980. Then the victims of the killer were 4 women who, by chance, found themselves in carriage No. 7 of this train. The criminal threw the bodies of the murdered women from the train in the Orel area between the Steel Horse and Stanovoy Well stations over a distance of 29 km.
Initially, the criminal had no intention of attacking women at all - he planned to get to Moscow without attracting attention to himself. For this, by the way, he did not buy a ticket at the box office, but paid the conductor. Moscow in those days was preparing to receive Olympic Games and the city was being “cleaned” with all its might by law enforcement agencies.
The former prisoner had no chance to legally travel to the capital and stay in it for several days. Nagiyev really wanted to see Alla Pugacheva and, if the opportunity presented itself, to rape or kidnap the singer. However, one of the conductors of carriage No. 7 reminded him of Pugachev to such an extent that Nagiyev could not restrain his sexual impulse - he invited her to have sex and, having received a refusal, attacked her with a knife.
Having started killing, Nagiyev could not stop and killed the second conductor. The criminal then walked through the carriage, killing possible witnesses. In compartment No. 2 he found Tatyana Kolesnik, and in compartment No. 6 - Maria Lopatkina; the women did not even suspect what happened in the conductors' compartment, but this did not make their fate easier.

In compartment No. 7 he saw a man - train crew electrician Alexander Prilutsky, who had come to empty carriage to sleep through the night. The meeting with the man unexpectedly cooled the killer. Although Nagiyev was clutching a knife in his hand and it would not have been difficult for him special problems to deal with Prilutsky, the killer graciously assured the witness that he need not be afraid.
Then he turned and left. The shocked electrician locked the compartment door and lay there without sleeping a wink until the morning. Subsequently, he admitted that he did not believe in salvation and was waiting for the reappearance of the criminal.
Nagiyev calmly got off the train, and poor Prilutsky, discovered by transport police in Kursk, became the main suspect in the murder. The “cops,” who were trying to quickly report that the mass murder had been solved, were not too lazy to falsify evidence - they stained the electrician’s shoes with the blood of the murdered women to make it seem as if Prilutsky was walking on a blood-stained carriage.
Prilutsky, seriously frightened, immediately reported that not only he, but also two other people from the brigade that served the train, saw the mysterious killer, incl. foreman It turned out that on railway there was a whole system of transporting illegal passengers and distributing the income from this " small business": the conductors "unfastened" part of the "leftist money" to the foreman, and he turned a blind eye to their little tricks and even redistributed the "leftists" between the cars in case of high occupancy of the train. All this, of course, was done in secret from the OBKhSS.

Nagiyev left the witness alive not without intent. He decided to lead the investigation on a false trail and came up with a rather elegant combination for this. He removed a total of 17 gold jewelry from the women he killed, and one of them was very unusual and easily recognizable.
He gave this ring to his friend Grigory Dugin, with whom he was serving his camp “sentence.” Dugin outwardly resembled Nagiyev - he was short, thin, young, had no beard or mustache. Nagiyev assumed that after some time Dugin with this ring would somehow be exposed and the “cops” would pin the murders on him.
The plan was good, but it was derailed by unforeseen developments. The idiot Grisha did not give the ring as a gift, but put it on his finger and went for a walk. Soon the finger swelled so much that the ring was impossible to remove. Dugin rushed to the jeweler, and he, quickly realizing that in front of him was a criminal with a woman’s ring on his finger, called the police without hesitation.
In general, Grigory Dugin, unexpectedly for himself, stopped by the Kursk criminal investigation department, where there was already a “focus” on this decoration. Realizing that he was really facing responsibility for the murder of four women, Dugin immediately “surrendered” Nagiyev.
Nagiyev’s mother was extremely frightened by the pressure that was exerted on family members by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and ultimately reported that, in her opinion, her son was hiding with one of his “girlfriends” in Dnepropetrovsk. Nagiyev was arrested on September 12.

Nagiyev played a lot of tricks after this arrest. Being placed in a "press hut" (normal for Soviet era investigative technique!), he knocked out the eye of one of the “pressers”. And in another “press hut” he caused grievous bodily harm to the offender.
During his stay in the Oryol pre-trial detention center, where he was taken for investigative experiments, the killer noticed a window without bars (on the second floor, by the way!) and during the escort he jumped into it, having previously broken the handcuffs and pushed the heads of the inspectors accompanying him.
The window, however, looked out onto one of the courtyards, where six pre-trial detention center employees were resting during their lunch break. Nagiyev literally fell on their heads, injuring his lower back and buttocks during the fall, with which he landed on the pieces placed on the chessboard.
In July 1981, Nagiyev was sentenced to capital punishment, but while being transferred to the Novocherkassk prison, where he was to remain until the sentence was carried out, he made his fantastic escape.
The “surrendering” group of guards took several dozen prisoners out of the carriage at once, which was strictly prohibited by the rules. A more serious violation was that the guards, despite the information they knew about Nagiyev’s tendency to escape, cuffed his hands in front of him and not behind his back.
The criminal sat on the platform for quite a long time, waiting for the right moment, and when he saw the approaching train, he simply rushed in front of the diesel locomotive. In fact, only three people chased after Nagiyev, from whom he, thanks to his excellent physical shape, broke away without much difficulty."
“The meeting ended. Under a strong impression, we began to leave Bichert’s office. And he either gave us a joke or seriously said: “When blocking apartments in Syktyvkar, in which the appearance of a hidden maniac is not excluded, when you go into ambushes, say goodbye to thoughts with parents and children. You never know what could happen."
In response, one of the most experienced operas, Viktor Zlenko, says: “Ivan Ivanovich, what a dark sense of humor you have. Look, you’ll scoff!” But immediately the head of the search changed his tone to a serious one: “I’m sure that everything will turn out fine. But if anything happens, don’t take this beast alive! He has already been sentenced to death. If someone is lucky, then carry it out.”
We dispersed into ambushes, of course, without much excitement, and then the department duty officer, Vladimir Ponomarev, joked when handing out weapons: “Perhaps you should put on bulletproof vests?” But to his flat joke, the seasoned detective Valery Ripa replied: “The bulletproof vest will not help in this case. Maybe you will come with us?” Ponomarev immediately hesitated awkwardly, realizing that he had made a bad joke.
As a result, for almost a month we sat in ambush at houses where Nagiyev could appear. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief when they learned of his arrest and execution of the death sentence. I already learned the details from Selivanov himself.
The reader will ask: what else is the merit of our police officers? Is it really just that they sat in ambushes to no avail? No, not only.
Immediately after Nagiyev was put on the wanted list, Vladimir Selivanov, Vitaly Ivanov, Nikolai Semenchin once again thoroughly studied Nagiyev’s personal affairs during the period when he was serving his sentence in the Komi Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. And they noticed that he especially often wrote letters to a correspondence student from the Yanovo village in the Rostov region, near the city of Novocherkassk.
They immediately informed the Main Directorate of Criminal Investigation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR, where they listened to the information from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Komi Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. Special attention was given to blocking this particular area, which was indicated by the detectives. There the lair of the escaped killer was discovered.
He was taken dressed in women's clothing and pretending to be a gypsy: wearing a white bra and a colorful skirt. During his arrest, he resisted and was found to have 15 gunshot wounds! However, thanks to the efforts of doctors, Nagiyev managed to survive. In the Novocherkassk prison, he was locked in a prison box, barely alive. The inspectors entered the cell in groups of three. The seriously wounded prisoner rushed at them like a wild animal. Once he almost strangled an ensign.
And on the last night of his life, when he was being taken out to carry out his sentence, Nagiyev started a brawl. He attacked two officers accompanying him and bit one of the guards on the finger. And in a rage he bit off an entire phalanx.
Most likely, he expected that he would be taken to new trial, since he has already committed a new crime against a representative of the authorities. Well, there, quite possibly, there will be another chance to escape. But that was not the case: the staff of the Novocherkassk prison, having seen everything, did not intend to delay the execution procedure."

From behind a tree, almost invisible in the glare of light and thickets of rose hips, a piece of colored fabric could be seen. In all likelihood, someone was hiding behind the tree, hidden by weeds and spreading branches. Nikolai took out a pistol and pulled the bolt. He approached carefully. 25... 15... 10 meters.

Efremenko’s hand did not tremble. Three bullets pierced the criminal's right forearm. The cleaver fell from the weakening palm. The sawn-off shotgun remained behind the belt.

The young lieutenant had never shot a person before. He felt uneasy for a moment. As if in a fog, he suddenly saw the swift figures of Goncharov and Isaev rushing at the criminal.
They did not know what Nagiyev was. It seemed that the already wounded maniac suddenly transformed into wild beast. He howled and wriggled, not allowing himself to be twisted. Thank God, Isaev managed to throw aside both the blade and the sawn-off shotgun. Lapochkin, Glazyrin and Sizov were running up from the right.
The projectionist was strong. With difficulty, the operatives twisted his hands behind his back. The handcuffs clicked. A screaming, desperately squirming criminal was squeezed into a patrol car...
During a medical and forensic examination, it was found that all three bullets fired by Efremenko were very close together. One went right through, the second, piercing the arm, pierced the lateral abdominal muscle tangentially, the third buried itself in the metal of the sawed-off shotgun, which ended up behind Nagiyev’s belt...
