Monopoly game rules

Introduction

The description and rules of the game are written for the classic version of Monopoly. If you don’t know the rules of the game, or don’t remember well, we recommend starting with the classic version for convenience and ease of understanding. Other versions of the game follow the same rules, but the names of the playing fields and cards may be different from those described in the rules.

Brief description of the game

Monopoly is a classic game where you can buy, rent and sell your property! At the beginning of the game, participants place their chips on the “Forward” field, then move them around the playing field depending on the number of points rolled on the dice.

If you find yourself on a Real Estate Plot that does not yet belong to anyone, then you can buy this Real Estate from the Bank. If you decide not to buy it, it can be sold at the Auction House to the highest bidder. Players who have Real Estate can charge rent from players who enter their Lot. When building Houses and Hotels, the rent increases significantly, so you should build on as many Lots as possible.

If you need money, you can mortgage your Property.

During the game, you should always follow the instructions written on the Community Chest and Chance cards. But don't relax - in some cases you may be sent to prison.

Target

Remain the only non-bankrupt player.

Beginning of the game

The chips of all players are lined up on the “Forward” field, after which each player takes his turn in turn.

Progress of the game

When it's your turn, roll the dice. Your piece will move forward along the board in a clockwise direction. The field you land on determines what you need to do. Several chips can be on one field at the same time. Depending on what field you find yourself on, you will have to:

buy plots for construction or other real estate

pay rent if you find yourself on property owned by other players

    pay taxes

draw a “Chances” or “Public Treasury” card

    end up in jail

    relax in the “Free parking”

    receive a salary of $200,000

Same number on both dice

If you roll the dice and both get same number points (double), your piece will move as usual and you will act in accordance with the requirements of the field on which you find yourself. You then have the right to roll the dice again. If you get the same number of points on both dice three times in a row, you immediately go to prison.

Passing the “Forward” field

Whenever you stop or pass the "Forward" space while moving clockwise, the Bank pays you a salary of 200,000. This amount can be received twice in the same turn if, for example, you end up on the "Chance" or " Public Treasury" immediately after the field "Forward" and pulled out a card with the inscription "Move to the field forward."

Buying a property

If you land on a space that represents unoccupied Real Estate (that is, on a building site not occupied by any players), you will have the first buyer's right to purchase it. If you decide to buy real estate, pay the Bank the money in the amount indicated on the playing field. In exchange, you will receive ownership of this property (the playing field will be colored in the color of your chip).

If you decide not to purchase the Property, it will be put up for auction immediately. In this case, it is purchased by the player who offers the highest price for it. A player who refuses to purchase Real Estate does not take part in the auction.

If, as a result of the auction, none of the players bought (or were unable to buy) the Real Estate, then it remains free.

Real estate ownership

Owning a property gives you the right to collect rent from any tenants who stay in the space that marks it. It is very profitable to own the real estate of the entire color group - in other words, own a monopoly. If you own an entire color group, you can build houses on any piece of Property in that color.

Stopping at someone else's property

If you stop at someone else's Property that was previously purchased by another player, you may be required to pay rent for that stop. The amount of real estate rent may vary depending on the houses and hotels built on the property. If all the Properties of one color group are owned by one player, the rent charged to you for stopping on any lot of that group is doubled, provided that there are no buildings on the lots of the group. However, if the owner of an entire color group has at least one portion of the Property in that group mortgaged, he cannot charge you double rent. If Houses and Hotels have been built on the Real Estate plots, the rent from these plots increases. No rent will be charged for staying on the mortgaged Property.

Stop at a utility field

If you land on one of these fields, you can buy that Utility if no one has already bought it. As with the purchase of other real estate, in this case you will have to pay the Bank the amount indicated in this field.

If you decide not to purchase the Property, the Utility is put up for auction and sold to the highest bidder. You cannot take part in the auction.

If, as a result of the auction, none of the players bought (or was unable to buy) the Utility Enterprise, then it remains free.

If this Utility has already been purchased by another player, he may demand rent from you. The rent for such a business will be four times the number of points rolled on the dice (you roll the dice again to determine the amount rent). If a player owns both Utilities, you will have to pay him an amount equal to ten times the number of points rolled.

Stop at the station

If you are the first to land on such a field, you will have the opportunity to buy this station. If you do not want to purchase the Station, it goes to auction and is sold to the player who offered the highest amount for it. You cannot take part in the auction.

If, as a result of the auction, none of the players bought (or were unable to buy) the Station, then it remains free.

If the Station already has an owner, the person who ends up there must pay rent. This fee depends on the number of stations the player who owns the station you are staying at has. The more stations the owner has, the higher the fee.

Stop at the "Chance" and "Public Treasury" field

Stopping on such a field means that you get one of the cards from the corresponding group. These cards may require you to:

    moved your chip

    paid money, for example, taxes

    got money

    went to prison

released from prison free of charge

You must immediately follow the instructions on the card. If you pick up a card that says “get out of jail free,” you can keep it until you need it, or you can sell it to another player for a negotiated price.

Note: The card may say that you must move the piece to another space. If you cross the Forward field clockwise while driving, you will receive $200,000. If you are sent to Prison, then you do not cross the “Forward” field.

Stop at the tax field

If you have settled on such a field, you just need to pay the appropriate amount to the bank.

Free parking

If you stop on such a field, then simply rest until your next move. You are here for free and are not subject to any penalties.

Jail

You are sent to Prison if:

You landed on the "Go to Jail" box, or

You picked up a "Chance" or "Public Chest" card that said "Go to Jail" or

You got it the same number points on both dice three times in a row in one turn.

Your turn ends when you are sent to Jail. If you go to Prison on a card, the $200,000 salary will not be paid to you, no matter where you were previously.

To get out of Prison you need:

pay a fine of $50,000 and continue playing, or

buy a “Get Out of Jail Free” card from another player and use it to free yourself, or

use the card if you already have one, or

stay here, skipping three of your moves, but every time it comes to your turn, roll the dice, and if you get a double on both dice in one of these moves, you can get out of prison and go through the number of fields that fell on cubes.

After you have missed three turns while in Jail, you must leave the Jail and pay $50,000 before you can move your pawn to the number of spaces rolled on the dice.

While in Prison you have the right to collect rent for your Property if it is not mortgaged. If you were not sent to the Prison, but simply stopped at the Prison space during the game, you do not pay a penalty, since you "just visited" it. On your next turn, you can move on as usual.

At home

Once you have collected all the Property lots of the same color group, you can buy Houses to place on any of the lots you have. This increases the rent you can charge tenants staying at your Property. You can buy houses during your turn before rolling the die. The cost of a home varies depending on the line to which the Real Estate color groups belong. In one turn, you can build no more than one house on fields belonging to the same color group.

The maximum number of houses on one site is four.

You can also sell houses back to the bank if necessary. The cost of the house in this case will be the same for what you purchased it for.

You cannot build houses if at least one plot of this color group is laid out.

Hotels

Before you can buy hotels, you need to have four houses on the site where you want to build a hotel. Hotels are bought in the same way as houses, at the same price. When a hotel is erected, four houses from this site are returned to the bank. Only one hotel can be built on each site.

Property For Sale

You can sell undeveloped plots, train stations and utility companies to any player by entering into a private deal with him, for an amount agreed upon between you. If there are houses or hotels on the plots you are selling, then you cannot sell such real estate. First, you need to sell the houses and hotels located in all areas of this color group to the bank, and only after that offer the deal to another player.

In a transaction, both sides may be offered for exchange both plots of Real Estate, money and prison release cards. Exchange combinations can be very diverse at the discretion of the players. If the player is not interested in the proposed deal, he can refuse it.

Neither houses nor hotels can be sold to other players. They can only be sold to a bank. Making deals with other players is only possible during the first stage of your turn, i.e. before you roll the dice.

If necessary, in order for you to receive money, hotels can be replaced with houses again. To do this, you need to sell the hotel to the bank and receive four houses in return, plus the cost of the hotel itself.

Pledge

If you have no money left, but may have debts, you can get money by mortgaging some Real Estate or selling houses or hotels. In order to mortgage real estate, you must first sell all the houses and hotels built on the plots of the color group being mortgaged. When pledging, you receive from the bank an amount equal to half the cost of the plot being pledged. If you later want to buy out the mortgaged Property, you will have to pay the bank its full value, plus 10% on top.

If you mortgage any Property, it still belongs to you. No player has the right to buy it back from the bank instead of you.

Mortgaged Properties cannot be charged rent, although rent may still flow to you for other Properties in the same color group.

You cannot sell pledged Property to other players.

The opportunity to build houses on plots appears only after purchasing all plots of one color group without exception.

Bankruptcy

If you owe the bank or other players more money than you can collect from your gaming assets, you are declared bankrupt and out of the game.

If you owe the bank, the bank gets all your money and all your Real Estate. The property returned to the bank goes on free sale. Also, get-out-of-jail cards are returned to the bank.

If you go bankrupt due to debts to another player, all your assets are sent to the bank. The property returned to the bank goes on free sale. And the Bank pays your debtor the amount of the debt.

You can also become bankrupt if you do not have time to complete any game action within the allotted time.

Game Notes

Money can be given as a loan to the player only by the Bank and only on the security of Real Estate.

No player can borrow money from another player or lend money to another player.

Winner

The last participant remaining in the game is the winner.

What is Monopoly and what does it develop?

The game was first introduced in 1934 by unemployed American Charles Darrow. The project was rejected due to huge amount errors in the design of the game. Darrow was not upset and independently made 5 thousand copies, which he sold in one of the department stores. After some time, the game became so popular that its inventor could no longer cope with the volume. In 1936, the economic game Monopoly was named the best-selling board game in America.

Initially, Monopoly looked like a board game, but now there are online version, mobile applications and various variations of the ever-popular desktop version. Such variations are offered, for example, by the creators of board games HASBRO in the online store www.moyo.ua. The game is created in the genre of economic strategy, which can be played by two or more players.

The main goal of any Monopoly participant is to preserve his capital until the end of the game and ruin his opponents.

"Monopoly" looks like a large field with squares that are divided into different enterprises, valuable gifts and certain events. Players throw a dice and, in accordance with the number that appears, move a chip of their color in a circle, performing certain manipulations: buying businesses, bargaining, paying a fine or taxes, playing in a casino. The rules may vary slightly depending on the type of game.

People begin to play Monopoly at about 6-7 years of age. Play allows a child to develop strategic thinking, learn to count money, use it rationally, the child masters the concept of business, learns to make deals, negotiate. The game develops math skills, logic of thinking, leadership skills, teaches perseverance and thoughtfulness. Moreover, the game is quite addictive and a great time pass.

Rules of the game "Monopoly"

How to play Monopoly? For an economic game you need at least two people, and preferably 5-6. Each player chooses a chip a certain color, which will be used throughout the game. In addition, a banker is selected from among the players who will monitor finances and manage the bank, issue incentives, collect taxes, and issue loans.

Chips are placed at the start. The first player rolls the dice and moves the chip to the number of squares indicated on the dice. Once on an asset, the player has the right to buy it, and if the asset is occupied, he must pay for his stay on this field. Prices are indicated on the asset card. A player may enter the field with a specific event in which he must participate. For example, a participant may receive a monetary reward, a fine, have to go back a few squares, get another turn, or skip the next one.

It is when a player fails that all his strategic and logical abilities are activated to regain his previous position.

Like any other game, Monopoly has so-called house or unspoken rules that are not officially stated. For example:

  • if the player is in prison, then he cannot receive money for renting his enterprises;
  • only after the first round the participant can acquire assets;
  • taxes and fines collected from participants are added to a certain sector;
  • a participant who is in the “free parking” sector can take away a monetary asset;
  • players can lend money to each other if they do not want to go to the bank;
  • sometimes even a bankrupt participant is left in the game to give him the opportunity to rehabilitate himself and implement his strategy: often such players manage to regain their assets and even beat the other participants.

It is believed that such loyal, unspoken rules with money make the game somewhat drawn out and it can last literally forever.

The banker keeps not only the money, but also the Owner, House and Hotel cards until they are purchased by the players. In addition, the Banker pays players' salaries and bonuses, advances money when arranging mortgages, and collects all taxes, penalties, loans, and interest. When conducting auctions, the Banker takes on the role of presenter.

The bank cannot go bankrupt. If all the money in the Bank has run out, then you can make the required amount of money yourself from ordinary paper in the form of promissory notes.

5. To determine who will go first, each player rolls both dice before starting the game. The player with the most points goes first, and then the turn goes to the player to his left.

Rules of the game

When it comes to your turn, roll both dice and move your piece clockwise around the playing field. The field you land on will determine your further actions. Two or more chips can be on the same field at the same time. Depending on the field you are on, you can do one of the following:

§ buy Possession or other property

§ pay rent (if you entered a field that is already someone else’s property)

§ pay taxes

§ pull out the “Chance” or “Total Treasury” card

§ go to Prison

§ stop at the “Free Parking” field

§ receive a salary of 200 units.

§ go to the Prison only “as a visitor”

Dropping out takes

If you have the same number of points on two dice (a double), then you must move your piece and make your move as usual. Then roll the dice again and take another extra turn. If you get three doubles in a row, you will go to Prison.

Passing through the “Go” field

Every time you stop at the “Go” field or pass by it in the direction of the arrow, the Bank pays you a salary of 200 units. You can get 200 units twice. in one move. For example, this will happen if you get to the “Chance” or “Total Treasury” field immediately after the “Go” field and take a card that says “Advance to Go” (“Move to the “Go” field).

Purchasing property

If you land on a field with property that does not belong to anyone (that is, property for which no player has an Owner card), you have the right to be the first to buy it. There are three types of property in the game - Ownership, Utility Enterprise and Railway Station. If you decide to buy a property, deposit the amount of money indicated on the field into the Bank. For this you will receive an Owner's card. You must place this document face up in front of you. If you decide not to buy the property, the Banker must immediately put it up for auction and sell it to the highest bidder. Bidding begins with any starting price that one or another player agrees to pay. Even if you decide not to buy this property at the original price shown on the box, you can also participate in the bidding.

Ownership of property

Owning a property gives you the right to collect rent from all players whose chips end up on the corresponding field. A big advantage over other players is having all the Domains of the same color, i.e. owning a monopoly. You can build on any Property that is part of a group of a certain color that you own.

Stop at Possession

If you are staying on a Property that has already been purchased by another player, you may be asked to pay rent for staying on that Property. The owner can only demand rent from you before the next player behind you rolls the dice. The rent for staying on a Hold is shown on the Owner's card and may vary depending on the number of buildings built on the Hold. If all the Domains of the same color are owned by the same player, then the rent for staying on any of the Domains of that group that has not yet built buildings is doubled.

However, if any Possession is mortgaged, then the owner of the entire group of Possessions of the same color cannot collect double payment. If Houses or a Hotel are built on the Property, the rent will be increased in accordance with the amount indicated on the Owner's card for this Property. There is no charge for being on the mortgaged Property.

Stop at Utilities

If you land on a field with a Utility Company that has not yet been purchased by other players, you can buy it. As with other types of property, you must pay the Bank the price indicated in the Utility Company field. If the Utility is already owned by another player, you may be asked to pay rent. This fee is determined by the number of points on the die that landed you on the Utility board.

If the owner has only one Utility, then the fee will be four times more quantity points rolled on the dice. If both Utilities are owned by the same player, then you must pay ten times the number of points on the die.

If you decide not to purchase the Utility, the Banker will hold an auction and the Utility will go to the highest bidder. You can also take part in the auction.

Stop at Railway Stations

If you got to the Railway Station first, then you have the opportunity to buy it. Otherwise, the Banker will organize an auction. Although you refused to buy the Railway Station at the original price, you can participate in the auction along with other players. If the Railway Station you find yourself in is already the property of another player, then you must pay him the amount indicated on the Owner card. The size of the fee is determined by how many other Railway stations the owner of the Railway station you are in has.

Stop at the fields “Chance” or “Total Treasury”

If you land on one of these fields, then you must take the top card from the corresponding pile. These cards may include the following:

§ Move the piece

§ Pay money, for example in the form of taxes

§ Get money

§ Go to Prison

§ Leave Prison for free

You must perform the action written on the card and then place that card at the very bottom of the pile. If you drew a “Get Out of Jail Free” card, you can keep it until you want to use it. You can also sell this card at a price that you agree on with other participants.

Note: The card may give instructions to move the chip to another field. If at the same time you pass the “Go” field, then you receive a sum of money in the amount of 200 units. If you are sent to Jail or ordered to move a piece back, then you are considered to have failed the “Go” square.

Stop at the “Tax Spaces” field

If you find yourself in such a field, then you must pay the appropriate amount of money to the Bank.

Stopping at the “Free Parking” field

If you land on this field, then you can remain on it until your next turn. You don’t need to pay anything for being on this field, and you can carry out any operations (collect rent, build buildings on your Possessions, etc.)

Jail

You will be sent to Prison in the following cases:

§ If you stop at the “Go to Jail” field

§ If you take a “Chance” or “General Treasury” card that says “Go directly to Jail”

§ If you get three doubles in a row

When you are sent to Prison, your turn ends. You also cannot receive a salary of 200 units. no matter which field you choose.

You can leave the Prison as follows:

§ Pay a fine of 50 units. and continue the game from the next turn

§ Buy a “Get Out of Jail Free” card from another player at a negotiated price and use it to free yourself

§ Use your own “Leave Jail Free” card, if you have one

§ Stay in the Prison for three turns, rolling the dice each time in the hope of getting a double. If on your turn you get a double, then you can leave the Prison and make a move according to the number of points rolled

After you have spent three turns in the Prison, you must leave the Prison by paying a fine of 50 units. before you move your chip according to the number of points rolled.

While in the Prison, you can charge other players rent for the use of your property, if it is not mortgaged.

If you were not sent to Prison, but during the game you stopped on the “Prison” field, then it is considered that you simply enter the Prison “as a visitor” and do not pay any fines. When the next move comes to you, you can continue the game.

At home

After you buy up all the Domains of the same color, you can buy Houses and install them on any of these Domains. At the same time, the rent that you charge from players staying on the Properties you own increases.

The price of the House is indicated in the corresponding Owner's card. You can buy a House on your turn or between other players' turns. Remember that you must build evenly, i.e. you cannot build a second House on any Property of the same color group until you have built one House on each Property of that group. This rule applies to any number of Houses up to the maximum possible: four Houses on one Property. The sale of the House must also be carried out evenly in accordance with the above rule.

You can buy and sell Houses at any time and in any quantity, as far as your financial condition. You cannot build a House on a Property if any Property from the same color group is mortgaged. If you own all the Domains of one color group, and you have built a House on only one or two of the Domains, then you can still receive double payment from other players staying on your Domains from that color group (even if there is nothing on them not built).

Hotel

Before you can buy a Hotel, you must build four Houses on each Property of that color group. A hotel is bought in the same way as a house. For one Hotel you must pay four Houses, which are returned to the Bank, and the price indicated on the Owner's card for the Hotel. Only one Hotel can be built on one Property.

Shortage of Houses

If there are no more Houses left in the Bank, then before you buy a House, you must wait until other players return their Houses to the Bank. Likewise, you cannot receive Houses instead of a Hotel if there are none left in the Bank.

If there are a limited number of Houses or Hotels left in the Bank, and two or more players want to buy more of them than are left in the Bank, then the Banker will hold an auction and these buildings will go to the highest bidder.

The starting price at the auction is the price indicated in the corresponding card of the Owner.

Selling property

You can sell a Property without buildings, a Railway Station and a Utility Plant to any player, receiving a pre-agreed amount of money from him. However, you cannot sell a Possession to another player if there is a building on at least one Possession of the same color group. If you want to sell a Possession that is part of a certain color group, then first you must sell to the Bank all the buildings on all the Possessions of this group.

Houses should be sold evenly, similar to the buying rule (see the “Houses” section). You cannot sell Houses and Hotel to other players. They must be sold to the Bank for half the price indicated on the relevant Owner's card. You can sell your House or Hotel at any time.

For the Hotel, the Bank will pay you half the cost of the Hotel plus half the cost of the Houses that you handed over to the Bank when purchasing this Hotel. All Hotels from the same color group can be sold at the same time. If necessary, the Hotel can be divided again into Houses. To do this, you need to sell the Hotel to the Bank and receive in return four Houses, as well as money for the Hotel (i.e., half of their cost). You cannot sell pledged property to the Bank, but you can sell it to other players.

Pledge

If you have no money left, but you need to pay debts, then you can get a certain amount of money by mortgaging the property. If you mortgage a Property, you must first sell all the buildings to the Bank. When mortgaging property, turn the Owner's card face down and receive from the Bank the amount of money indicated on back side cards. If you want to buy back your property, you will have to pay this amount plus 10%.

If you mortgage the property, it remains in your possession. Other players cannot buy this property by paying the mortgage price to the Bank.

You cannot receive rent on a mortgaged property. However, you may still receive payment for other properties in the same color group. You can sell the mortgaged property to other players at a pre-agreed price.

The player can then redeem the mortgage by paying the Bank the mortgage amount plus 10%. If this is not done, the player must pay the Bank 10% when purchasing this property, and later, when he decides to buy out the mortgage, he will have to pay the Bank the cost

mortgage and an additional 10%.

When all the Properties of one color group are no longer mortgaged, the owner can begin to buy Houses again at the appropriate price.

Bankruptcy

If you owe the Bank or another player an amount exceeding overall size funds that you can get by selling your property, you are declared bankrupt and leave the game.

If you owe money to the Bank, then the Bank receives all your cash and all the Owner's cards. The Bank then sells all this property piece by piece at auction.

If you are declared bankrupt, you must return the Get Out of Jail Free cards, placing them at the bottom of the appropriate pile.

If you become bankrupt in debt to another player, then your Houses and Hotels are sold to the Bank for half their original value, and that player receives your cash, Owner cards and “Get Out of Jail Free” cards. If you have any mortgaged property left, you must also transfer it to this player. In this case, he must pay 10% of its value, and then decide whether he wants to keep the mortgage or buy the property.

Notes on the game

If you do not have enough cash to pay the rent, you can pay your lender part of the amount in cash and part of the amount in the property you own (provided there are no buildings on the property). In this case, a creditor may accept a certain property (even if it is mortgaged) for a price significantly higher than that shown on the Owner card in order to obtain additional property or prevent another player from gaining control of it.

Control over the collection of rent should be exercised directly by the property owner himself.

The player can borrow money only from the Bank and only on the security of his property. Players cannot lend each other money.

Winner

The last participant remaining in the game is the winner.

Short game rules

There are three differences in the rules of the short game compared to the rules of the regular game:

1. During preparation for the game, the Banker shuffles the Owner's cards. Then the player sitting to the left of the Banker removes the deck, and the latter distributes one Owner card twice in a circle to the players. If the Banker is also an ordinary player, then he deals the Owner’s cards to himself. Players who receive Owner cards must immediately pay the Bank the stated price for both Owner cards received.

2. In the shortened game, you must build only three Houses (instead of four) on each Property of the color group before you can buy a Hotel.

The rent remains the same as in the standard game.

When you sell a Hotel, the proceeds are half the original cost, which is one less House in this version of the game than in the normal game.

3. Game over. The first player to go bankrupt is out of the game, just like in a standard game. When the second player also goes bankrupt, the game ends. A player who becomes bankrupt transfers everything he owns to his creditor (the Bank or another player), including buildings and other property.

Then each of the remaining participants in the game adds up the following:

1. Cash on hand.

2. The player's Possessions, Utilities and Railway Stations at the price indicated on the playing field.

3. Mortgaged property in the amount of half the price indicated on the playing field.

4. Homes valued at purchase price.

5. Hotels valued at purchase price, including the value of the three Houses for which the Hotel was exchanged.

The richest player wins!

Game with time limit

Before starting this version of the game, you need to agree on the end time of the game. The richest participant at the end of the game will win. Before starting the game, you need to shuffle the deck of Owner cards and remove them. The Banker then deals two cards to each player, one card per round. Participants immediately deposit the value of the property issued to them into the Bank, and the game continues according to standard rules.

The board game Monopoly was created by American Charles Darrow more than 80 years ago. A large company refused to release his project, so he produced and sold several thousand copies on his own. The game was soon noticed, and sales became enormous, making him an incredibly rich man.

But what is Monopoly? In it, you buy, rent and sell property, trying to get rich by beating your competitors. It is designed for two or more players: the battle will continue until there is only one lucky person left who has not gone bankrupt. It's really fun to play with the whole family - the rules of the classic version are designed for ages 8 years and older, not to mention the simplified versions designed specifically for children younger age. But there are many subtleties and conditions in card Monopoly that you should know about in order to get true pleasure from gameplay. That's why it's so important to first look at the description of the Monopoly game.

Game description

In the classic version, you need 2-6 players: each must have their own chip. The rules of the Monopoly game should be studied in detail before starting: look at the values of the various squares along which participants move depending on the value of the number rolled on the die. Economic board game is tied to the profitable purchase and sale of real estate, in which the funds available to the participants are invested. At first, everyone is given the same amount, so at first everyone has equal opportunities. Money for playing Monopoly is used not only for the purchase and sale of real estate, but also for paying taxes or rent if the player enters the territory of a competitor.

But, although a lot depends on the player’s actions, luck greatly influences further move events: the roll of the dice largely determines whether he gets rich or fails. The Monopoly game field consists of cells on which various properties with a specified value are located, sectors “”, “ Jail" and others. Monopoly and its rules may seem complicated even for adults, but after reading the details and getting practical experience, everything becomes extremely clear.

Preparing for the game

The number of players affects the number of chips on the field: everyone must choose one for themselves and place it at the start. It is also necessary to determine among the participants banker, on whose shoulders will fall auctions, surveillance of bank funds and, in special cases, "printing money". Players receive salaries and bonuses from the bank, and it also collects taxes and fines from them. With its help, property is traded in Monopoly. Next are the shuffled cards "" and " Public treasury» are laid out on the appropriate areas of the playing field. The basic preparations for the game are completed: next you need to learn the rules in order to have a good time with your friends.
