One of the pillars of strengthening ecumenism for Metropolitan Kirill is the education and training of young ecumenical cadres. In this business he became considerably more skilled and succeeded. At present, a whole galaxy of young Nikodimovites has appeared in the ROC, whom Gunlyaev is preparing to ensure the future of the ecumenical heresy in Russia. Among these chicks of Gundyaev's nest there are more and less prominent figures. However, one of them Bishop Hilarion (Alfeev) Gundyaev especially favors. Just as in his time Metropolitan Kirill became the successor of Metropolitan Nikodim (Rotov), the founder of ecumenism in Russia, who died at the feet of the Pope of Rome, so Alfeev is now, of course, the successor of Metropolitan Kirill. The head of the DECR gradually introduces him into the circle of his heretical anti-church activities.
In the meantime, Bishop Hilarion is playing the role of slaughtering all kinds of ecumenical projects of his patron on the DECR. Who is he, this Alfeev?
Let us briefly trace his biography, dwelling in more detail on some of its most significant moments. Born July 24, 1966 in Moscow in a family of baptized Jews. Since childhood, he was fond of music, studied at a music school, then at the conservatory. “At the age of fifteen,” he says in an interview with the “Steps” magazine, “I began to read and subdeacon in the Church of the Resurrection of the Word on the Assumption Vrazhek, where Metropolitan Pitirim served - a very outstanding person who raised many young church people: many of his pupils are now occupy leading positions in the Russian Orthodox Church, are bishops, abbots of monasteries, employees of synodal departments.
Leaking into the altar in January 1987, Alfeev entered the Vilna Holy Spirit Monastery as a novice. On June 19, 1987, he was tonsured a monk by Archbishop Viktorin of Vilna and Lithuania, and on June 21 of the same year he was ordained a hierodeacon. On August 19, 1987, he was ordained a hieromonk.

In parallel with the parish ministry, Illarion studies in absentia at the Moscow Theological Seminary, from which he graduated in 1989, and at the Moscow Theological Academy (graduating in 1991 with a degree in theology). At this time, Metropolitan Kirill (Gundyaev) drew attention to the Vilna hieromonk, who was distinguished by his liberal views. He was invited to teach at Moscow theological schools (1991-1993).

In 1993, Alfeev was sent for an internship at Oxford University, where, under the guidance of a well-known ecumenist, a fierce apologist for the introduction of a female priesthood in the Orthodox Church, the newest Bishop of Diokleia Kallistos (Ware), he wrote a dissertation on the topic "St. Simeon the New Theologian and Orthodox Tradition." In 1995 he graduated from the university with a Ph.D. At this time, Alfeev, who managed to become hegumen, finally mutates into a church modernist reformer. This is how he describes his studies at Oxford:
“Two years at Oxford were very important time…. all the time when I did not sleep, did not eat and did not pray, I spent either in the library, or at the computer, or in communication with interesting people- such as, for example, my supervisor Vladyka Kallistos or a professor of Syriac Sebastian Brock. I think that two years at Oxford gave me more scientifically than all my previous studies, because there I received not just some amount of knowledge: I have mastered, to the best of my ability, the scientific method, the method independent study . It seems to me that in our theological schools, students are not taught what the scientific method is. Students acquire a certain amount of knowledge, which, depending on their abilities, they can reproduce with greater or lesser accuracy, but they are not taught to work independently with sources, make scientific discoveries. The majority of theses and master's theses in our theological schools are of a compiling nature. Bishop Hilarion told the following with satisfaction about the state of ecumenical contacts in his diocese in an interview with the Stupeni magazine: “Both in Austria and in Hungary we have turned out very good, fraternal(or sisterly, if you want to) relationship with the Roman Catholic Church. "Most characteristic feature eschatology st. Isaac, - writes Alfeev, - is his faith in universal salvation ... This faith has little in common with those convicted in the VI century. Commenting on Cardinal Kasper's statement that the Vatican does not intend to retreat on the issue of four Latin dioceses in Russia, Bishop Hilarion noted that the concept of "canonical territory" does not apply to Orthodox-Protestant relations, "but is applicable to Orthodox-Catholic ones, since we have a de facto mutual recognition of hierarchies and sacraments". In this passage, Bishop Hilarion openly and impudently contradicts the Holy Fathers, who never recognized the grace of the heretical sacraments and the apostolic succession of the heretical hierarchy.

Because of this, it is quite natural that such a person should be deprived of church prayer and that grace, which only through the church, the Orthodox Church, can a person receive, and such, as the rule prescribes, should be forbidden to enter the church where this grace is given. To the question whether it is possible to perform a divine service if there is any heretic (especially an Arian) in the church, Timothy of Alexandria answered that this could be permissible only if the heretic promised to renounce heresy and believe in Orthodoxy (9 Prov. ).
