Gymnast Svetlana Khorkina - biography, sporting achievements, photographs. Svetlana Khorkina - biography, information, personal life

Soon, the autobiographical book of Olympic champion Svetlana Khorkina, “Somersaults in Heels,” will be published. In it, the gymnast did not beat the most the main mystery her life - from whom she gave birth to a son, Svyatoslav. Express Newspaper wrote that Svetlana had a child after an affair with the famous businessman Kirill SHUBSKY, the husband of actress Vera GLAGOLEVA. The couple immediately sued the newspaper for interference in their personal lives. And now the athlete herself is telling how this melodrama began.

Elena ARONOVA

Svetlana and Kirill were brought together by sport. Khorkina shone on the gymnastics platform, and Shubsky, president of the large Soglasie-Alliance holding company, was very wealthy man, was a member of the National Olympic Committee.

A young successful businessman took a liking to a pretty Russian sports star. An affair began between them. Express Newspaper wrote about this in the publication “Svetlana Khorkina gave birth to Vera Glagoleva’s husband” (see article “Svetlana Khorkina gave birth to Vera Glagoleva’s husband”). The artist sued our publication for almost two years. For some reason, Glagoleva was offended not by her husband’s betrayal, but by the fact that the press reported about his close relationship with Svetlana. In the lawsuit, the artist did not dispute the facts stated in the publication - she could not completely deny the fact that Kirill Shubsky knew the gymnast Glagoleva, and in an interview with one of the publications she admitted:

My husband was associated with the Olympic Committee through work and knew Khorkina. And I know it. We attended various sports events together. Svetlana did not interfere in the litigation. And when journalists directly asked whether it was true that the father of her child was Kirill Shubsky, she never refuted the assumption, but only said that she gave birth to a son for herself.

Generous friend

Stars are indignant when journalists write about their personal lives. But for the sake of high fees, they reveal all the ins and outs, confessing in spirit to a readership of millions.

It seems that Khorkina was holding a pause for the same reasons. Before the book went on sale, the publishers released intriguing excerpts from its chapters to the press as a primer. In one of them, Svetlana describes in detail her acquaintance with a businessman named Kirill. Fate brought them together Swiss Lausanne in the spring of 1997, where they arrived as part of the delegation of the National Olympic Committee. And NTV presenter Yulia Bordovskikh introduced them. The girls gathered to have dinner at an expensive restaurant. Julia invited her old friend Kirill to join them. In the book, Svetlana fondly recalls that memorable evening in detail.

Kirill turned out to be not only a pleasant companion, but also a gallant gentleman: as soon as we were at the lake, he threw his light cashmere coat over my chilled shoulders. At the restaurant, we immediately ordered some warming mulled wine and began to lively discuss the upcoming presentation. After dinner, flushed, full and satisfied, we returned to the hotel... - the athlete intriguingly breaks off her story at the most interesting moment.

Unfortunately, in Lausanne we had to part ways with my new acquaintance. He flew away, - he laments the fate of the Light.

How close the first acquaintance turned out to be is unknown until the book is published. But we can assume that dinner alone was not enough. According to the gymnast, Kirill then, after just a few hours of communication, gave her mobile phone to be able to hear her voice whenever you want.

So that at any moment when I need his help or just moral participation, I can contact him,” the gymnast clarifies. - Crazy gift for those times! In the opinion of a girl who is not very spoiled by male attention, probably yes.

But for millionaire Kirill it was a mere trifle. However, this gift is evidence that this meeting was not a success for him either. He tried to make an impression, and he succeeded.

I had never seen such noble courtship in my life before,” Svetlana writes enthusiastically. The acquaintance that began so romantically in Lausanne grew into a close relationship that lasted several years. In the above excerpt, Svetlana writes about this period schematically, but still emphasizes: Kirill surrounded her with tender attention. - We often called each other, whenever possible he flew to Moscow to support me at the Russian Championships and Cups, was in the support group at the European Championships in St. Petersburg and Moscow, and then in treacherous Sydney. He was always there, both in the most difficult and in the happiest moments of my life. sports life“, she admits. From these lines it becomes clear: the businessman and the gymnast were hardly connected only common love to sports. In published excerpts from the book, Svetlana does not mention her friend’s last name. But both the mysterious Kirill and Shubsky were members of the Olympic Committee, both wealthy businessmen, both familiar with Khorkina. There are too many coincidences. Most likely, this is one person. And then it turns out that Kirill and Svetlana met not only at ceremonial receptions, as Vera Glagoleva assures.

The time has come

The continuation of the beautifully started novel was more like a Brazilian series. As soon as the athlete’s tummy became round, she began to pretend to be a tender friendship with Levani Uchaneishvili. He played along quite professionally. That is why many assumed that the Georgian actor living in America is the father of the child. In addition, the gymnast went to give birth not just anywhere, but to Los Angeles. Both Levani and Sveta were congratulated on the birth of their little son. They answered with restraint and somewhat evasively. Everyone noticed this strangeness in their behavior. It soon became clear that the affair with Uchaneishvili was just a dramatization, and the real father was different. Knowledgeable people told Express Newspaper about the closeness of the gymnast with businessman Kirill Shubsky, the husband of artist Vera Glagoleva. Many thought that for the sake of new love he will separate from his wife. But the businessman did not dare to erase 15 years of marriage, especially since he and the actress have a daughter, Nastya.

Svyatoslav, Svetlana’s son, will soon turn three years old. The boy grows up and, of course, asks where his dad is. Perhaps Khorkina broke the silence to encourage her secret friend to take a decisive step. Answering journalists' questions about her son's father, Khorkina once said that he good man and takes care of her and the baby, but it’s just not time to call his name yet. This moment has probably arrived.

Svetlana Khorkina is one of those who glorified Russia with her sporting achievements. Outstanding gymnast, among other things, an example of perseverance and a dream come true. Born in simple times, one might even say poor family, she was able only with the help of her own work and talent to reach heights that only a few can rise to.

Difficult childhood in Belgorod

Sveta Khorkina was born on January 19, 1979 in the ancient Russian city of Belgorod. Today and in Russian Federation, and all over the world they talk about her as an unsurpassed athlete, who was called the “queen of the uneven bars.” And in the late 70s, hardly anyone could have imagined that a little girl had such a great future. Svetlana won all her titles and awards through pain, tears, injuries, thanks to her internal rod, strong character.

Her mother and father are from Mordovia, but for improvement material well-being moved to Belgorod and decided to settle there. The gymnast's parents are simple, not very educated working people - her mother was a nurse in kindergarten, and my father worked at a construction site. Sveta is not the only child in the family; she has Native sister Yulia Vasilievna Khorkina.

The Khorkins led a modest life and did not spoil their children, but nevertheless Sveta and her sister had everything they needed. In her book, the gymnast wrote that their family knows from their own experience how hard it is to earn money, and they understand the value of it.

When Svetlana was five years old, her father received a room at 11 square meters in dorm. The family received the premises in an unsanitary condition, along with insects and other living creatures. Most of all there were bedbugs.

The parents brought the tiny room into a habitable state. It was divided into two “rooms” by a wardrobe.

In one of them there was a huge bed for parents and Sveta’s chair-bed, and in the second there was dinner table. Father took care of physical culture for my daughters and built a small sports corner right above the table. He hung a trapeze and a rope from the ceiling. In this first makeshift gym, little Sveta learned the basics of gymnastics.

Sveta was a very playful child: she climbed like a monkey from a rope onto a trapeze, then onto a closet and from there onto her parents’ large bed. Couldn't sit still for a second. The girl’s sporting destiny was influenced by her neighbor, who suggested to her parents how to use Sveta’s irrepressible energy for her own benefit.

A gymnast rushes onto the podium

And then one day a mother and daughter came to the entrance to the Spartak Sports Palace. Sveta was only four years old. Thus, since 1983, Sveta began her career in gymnastics. And the future queen of the beam was trained by Boris Pilkin. From the very first training sessions, the coach noticed that Khorkina was a very hardworking and capable girl, focused on results.

The result of hard training was not long in coming:

She took part in all major competitions: the World Team Championship and the Goodwill Games. In 1995, Sveta won the all-around competition for the first time at the European Cup.

The athlete also received medals:

  • on uneven bars;
  • in a jump;
  • in floor exercises.

That same year, she was the main contender for gold at the World All-Around Championships.

However, everything seemed to be ruined by an unfortunate mistake. Instead of a triple turn in the floor exercise, she only did two turns, and as a result she received low marks in the program.

But thanks to perfectly executed fantastic exercises on the uneven bars and pure performances on the vault and beam, Khorkina comes out in second place. And in the final, beating the athlete from China Mo Huilan with the highest score of 9.90, Sveta scored for Russia in the uneven bars exercises gold medal.

Failures, defeats and victories

The following year, 1996, as a member of the Russian national team, Svetlana won silver at Europe, and won bronze in the vault. The fiasco in the all-around ended all chances for a medal; as a result of losing contact with the balance beam and falling from the apparatus, our athlete did not even make it into the top five and took sixth place. Nevertheless, at the Olympics in Atlanta, Svetlana was considered the most important contender for the gold medal.

These Olympic Games unexpectedly became sad for the entire Russian team. Having worked well on the beam exercises, floor exercises and vault, Svetlana could not cope with nervous tension and fell off her favorite bars. The athlete ends up only in 15th place.

But in the individual competitions, she was still able to win on the uneven bars. Thanks to this clear victory Svetlana Khorkina was first called the “queen of parallel bars”.

After this, the uneven bars became the girl’s favorite type of exercise in gymnastics, where she was always the best. It seemed to 17-year-old Svetlana that she had achieved her dream, having received a gold medal at the Olympics, and that now she could do something else, more necessary for her life. future fate. After all, the life of an athlete is short-lived.

Therefore, after returning from the USA to her hometown, the girl applies to the university. But the “queen of the parallel bars” quickly became bored with the measured activities in the temple of science.

She has already tasted the poison of sports fame. The girl felt that she constantly needed to go towards the goal, fight and win.

Without hesitation, Svetlana returned to Moscow. In 2000, the Russian gymnast team, led by the “queen of the uneven bars,” flies to Sydney for the Olympics. Svetlana is already 21 years old. She trained hard to win, but troubles awaited her in Australia. Khorkina injured her knees due to a poorly placed projectile.

But the Russian woman cannot be broken so easily. Failures have strengthened her, and it even seems that Sveta simply needs failure at the beginning in order to pull herself together. She passes all stages of the competition and confirms her Olympic championship on the uneven bars.

After this, Svetlana firmly decided to go to the next Olympics. At the World Championships in 2001, Khorkina single-handedly won the championship. From 1995 to 2001 inclusive, Svetlana Khorkina constantly wins all world championships on her favorite uneven bars.

A talented person is talented in everything

It seems that the girl devoted herself entirely to sports. But along with this, she also achieves other goals that are no less important for herself. In 2002, Svetlana was awarded the scientific title of Candidate of Biological Sciences.

This year she tries herself as an actress in the play “Venus”, staged at the theater company of Sergei Vinogradov, where she played the main female role. This somewhat unexpected debut turned out to be quite successful.

In Anaheim in 2003, at the World Championships, Svetlana snatches victory and becomes the all-around champion for the third time. Not a single woman could win as many titles as the Russian “queen of the uneven bars” won! The last Olympics for Khorkina were the games in Athens in 2004. The outstanding Russian athlete reached the finals both on uneven bars and in the all-around and was considered the main competitor in the fight for the champion title. As a result, she took silver in the all-around.

Life with a clean slate

After the Olympics, Svetlana decides to end her career in sports and start life with clean slate. Although it was quite difficult for the sports legend to do this. After all, in honor of the “queen of bars” in hometown A monument was even erected in Belgorod in 2007. True, there is more important object: V small town The Svetlana Khorkina Sports Center was built, where there is everything for training future champions.

Having completed sports career, Svetlana did not go into the shadows. On the contrary, her irrepressible energy demanded more and more wide field activities.

She was often seen on television, including the famous shows:

  • "Circus with the Stars";
  • "Dancing with the Stars".

Among other things, the “queen of parallel bars” tried herself in a photo shoot for Playboy magazine.

Having paid attention to television, in 2007 Svetlana got into politics. She is elected to the State Duma as a deputy of the 5th convocation. Information about this, in particular, appeared on the party’s website “ United Russia».

But this is not enough, Svetlana holds the position of Vice President of the Federation artistic gymnastics. In 2014, at the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Khorkina was elected ambassador of the Olympic Games. Attention to her person has not diminished to this day. Svetlana Vasilyevna has the rank of lieutenant colonel in the reserve, in 2016 she was appointed to the position of first deputy chief of the Central Sports Club Army (CSKA).

The most expensive "gold"

Birth only son- Svyatoslav Khorkin, whom Svetlana loves more life, the athlete considers the main and most expensive “gold” that only she could get.

Svetlana said goodbye to world sports in the fall of 2004; in the same year she took part in demonstration performances in Mexico City. Due to a sharp deterioration in Khorkina’s health, she had to turn to doctors. The athlete was very surprised to hear that the cause of her health problems was pregnancy at 2-3 months. Svetlana cried and rejoiced at the same time. She had no idea before that maximum emotions can be obtained not only by winning champion titles in sports.

In Los Angeles, Svetlana gives birth to her son Svyatoslav in July 2005. Like any baby born in the United States, the boy received citizenship of this country. All the journalists wrote and talked about this stunning news. At first, the artist Levan Uchaneishvili was considered the boy’s father.

After some time, rumors appeared that true father Svetlana's son is businessman Kirill Shubsky, husband of actress Vera Glagoleva. Active debate about this version took place in in social networks, where Svetlana Khorkina was discussed, - Instagram and VKontakte. However, the people involved in the rumors themselves did not comment on them.

Khorkina recently wrote a biography with interesting name"Somersaults in stiletto heels." In this book, she names the name of her son's father - Kirill, but does not reveal his last name.

2011 brought major changes to Svetlana Khorkina’s personal life. The athlete’s husband becomes Oleg Kochnov, a reserve general who served in various federal structures, in particular the Federal Customs Service and the Federal Drug Control Service.

As usual, ill-wishers found disadvantages in this too, reproaching Khorkina for marrying an old man (Kochnov is indeed older than his wife). Svetlana responded simply to these reproaches: “Now I felt peace of mind and real happiness! He found mutual language with my son". At Svetlana's and Oleg's great relationship, despite the 23-year age difference and the absence of common children. Svyatoslav and his stepfather get along well.

Upon completion of his service, Oleg Anatolyevich Kochnov was invited to the position of assistant to the governor of the Amur region. And a few years later, the former officer received the position of authorized representative of the Amur region under the President of Russia. It would seem that Svetlana Vasilievna Khorkina and her husband live calmly and happily.

And it was somewhat unexpected that in her second book, entitled “The Magic of Victories,” Svetlana again remembered Svyatoslav’s father. She honestly told how her son’s future father, Kirill Shubsky, deceived her throughout the entire time they were in a relationship. Was not shy about promises of a happy family life, O eternal love and marriage. But as soon as he found out about Svetlana’s pregnancy, everything immediately changed.

Everything had to be kept secret and not tell anyone about the pregnancy and their relationship. It was incomprehensible to her and very offensive to hear from the person she loved about the need to hide. Then Kirill began to avoid her, trying in every possible way to disown his child.

True, now, after several years, the father has recognized his son, from time to time he communicates with him and helps him financially.

Career

Khorkina began playing sports in 1983. She trained under the guidance of Boris Pilkin. Since 1992, Khorkina has been a member of the Russian national artistic gymnastics team.

1994-1995

Khorkina won her first senior international medal in 1994 at the World Championships in Brisbane: a silver medal on vault and another silver on uneven bars. She performed even more successfully at the European Championships that same year. Here she won silver in the all-around behind teammate Dina Kochetkova and gold on the uneven bars. Khorkina also competed in the Goodwill Games and the World Team Championships this year. Her first all-around victory came in 1995 at the European Cup, where she also won medals in the vault, uneven bars and floor exercise. She was the top contender for all-around gold at the World Championships that year. She does a double twist on the floor exercise instead of a triple. This led to a low score for the program, but flawless executions on beam and vault and a stellar performance on uneven bars helped her take second place behind Ukrainian Liliya Podkopaeva. In the uneven bars final, Khorkina won the gold medal with an incredible score of 9.90, ahead of Mo Huilan of China.

1996

2001-2003

Khorkina decided to compete at the next Olympics. At the 2001 World Championships, she won the title of overall champion, as well as gold in the vault and uneven bars. With 5 world champion titles and 2 Olympic champion titles, Khorkina becomes the most titled gymnast on one apparatus. From 1995 to 2001, she won every World Championship and Olympic uneven bars title. In 2002, Khorkina won the all-around at the European Championships; it is believed that she won only due to the judges' favor. In 2003, Svetlana admitted that gymnastics had taken a toll on her body and that she began to “feel her age,” but she promised to compete at the Olympics. At the World Championships in Anaheim, she became the absolute champion for the third time, which no woman had ever achieved before.

2004

Khorkina was again the favorite of the Games; this was her last Olympics. She reached the finals only in the all-around and uneven bars. In the team competition, her strong performances helped Russia win bronze, which was judged favorably, in stark contrast to the reaction to silver in 2000 (the team was significantly weaker in 2004).

Finally wins an all-around medal Olympic Games, but only silver. At a press conference after the performance, Khorkina stated that the victory was given to the American even before the start of the competition, essentially accusing the judges of bias.

Gymnastic elements of Khorkina

Khorkina Svetlana Vasilievna - a legend rhythmic gymnastics. She won Olympic gold twice. She managed to become world champion nine times. And that’s not all - the biography of Svetlana Khorkina is filled with a series of bright, significant and very important events for the country.

Childhood

The biography of Svetlana Khorkina dates back to 1979. The girl Sveta was born in Belgorod. Mordovian blood flows in her, since both her father and mother were from Mordovian families. At one time, the parents of the future gymnast moved to Belgorod to earn extra money, but in the end they stayed here forever. Svetlana’s father worked as a construction worker, while her mother managed to get a job as a nurse in a local kindergarten.

Introduction to gymnastics

When Khorkina was 4 years old, a neighbor next door suggested that her mother send the girl to gymnastics. The section was very good in the city. Mom got excited about this idea, and so a little gymnast appeared in the family - Svetlana Khorkina.

The girl really liked the classes and attended them with pleasure. It is worth noting that Svetlana did not have any special physical characteristics at that time. Despite this, gymnastics coach Boris Pilkin saw great determination and hard work in the little girl. It was these human qualities that helped the young gymnast become great. The little gymnast Svetlana Khorkina trained with great diligence, she repeated all the exercises a hundred times. And even if the girl didn’t succeed at all, she went to the end and always achieved a fantastic result.

Her sports career took off very quickly. Once in the capital, the girl set her sights on the USSR youth team. She was suitable both in age and technical equipment. But because of her provincial origin, everyone looked down on the talented gymnast. But this did not break Svetlana. So, in 1992, in the biography of Svetlana Khorkina, new chapter- she became a member of the Russian rhythmic gymnastics team.

First victories

IN sports biography Svetlana Khorkina was great amount victories different levels. But there were also many falls. According to the eminent gymnast, it was these failures that strengthened her character and gave a kick to new, more powerful achievements.

One of these failures was a fall during training. This happened two weeks before the championship in Japan. The gymnast seriously injured her back. She had difficulty moving, and it was even difficult to talk about exercise. The girl could not do without painkillers. As a result, the doctor said that she should forget about the championship for which she had been preparing so hard. Sveta, at sixteen years old, was already very independent and decisive. She agreed to go full course treatment, but did not give up training, despite the enormous risk. Gathering her will into a fist, Khorkina performed well in the control training. The championship also gave way under the pressure of a strong-willed Russian girl. She became a champion and took several more important medals.

The Champion's Path

The Olympics for Svetlana Khorkina became new goal. After intensive treatment, she began to train and prepare to climb Olympus. In 1996, Atlanta welcomed her. This Olympics became extremely successful for the gymnast, as Khorkina received a gold medal in the uneven bars category. She also brought home a silver medal for her performance in the team championship. So, already at the age of seventeen, the biography of Svetlana Khorkina contained a record of victory in the Olympic Games.

It would seem that having reached the most high goal, the girl could have stopped and taken a break. But rest is not for Khorkina. Although she tried to return to her homeland and start studying at a university, she quickly became bored with such a life, and the gymnast again went to the capital.

After a long time of working on herself, Khorkina decides to conquer the Olympics again. This time she goes to Sydney. By the 2000 Olympic Games, the girl was twenty-one years old and her level of training was the highest. It would seem that victory was already in Khorkina’s pocket, but all optimism dissipated after the gymnast seriously hurt her knee during one of the training sessions. The cause of this trouble was an incorrectly installed projectile. Despite all the problems, Khorkina still performed well and retained her championship in the uneven bars category. After the victory, the girl immediately announced that she was absolutely going to take Olympic gold for the third time.

The year 2001 became significant in the biography of Svetlana Khorkina. This year the gymnast achieved the title of absolute champion at the World Championships. It is worth noting that in the period from 1995 to 2001, Khorkina won absolutely all the championships in which she took part. During these years, Svetlana Khorkina simply did not have a personal life. All her strength was directed towards sports and achieving results.

In 2003, Khorkina again became the winner of the World Cup, making her the world's first three-time champion. Then Khorkina performed at the Olympics in Athens. This time she failed to take gold. Perhaps the reason was excessive self-confidence, or maybe age. The gymnast was able to reach the finals and decided to end her sports career forever.

Leaving the sport

After leaving gymnastics, the former athlete appeared on television several times. With her participation, such shows as “Dancing with the Stars” and “Circus with the Stars” were released. Also in the biography of Svetlana Khorkina, experience of filming for glossy magazine. And not a simple one, but one designed for the male audience of Playboy. Here the Russian athlete appeared naked before fans.

Political career

Khorkina first appeared in the political arena in 2007. In the fifth convocation, Khorkina was elected to the State Duma. This information can be seen on the official website of United Russia. The post of vice-president of artistic gymnastics is of particular importance for Khorkina. In this position, Svetlana tries in every possible way to contribute to the development of gymnastics in her country.

In 2014, another important title was added to the biography of Svetlana Khorkina. She is appointed ambassador of the Sochi Olympics.

Personal life

The personal life of Svetlana Khorkina has always been under close attention journalists. For a long time they did not know what to cling to. And suddenly, in 2005, the whole world learned about the birth of her first child, Svyatoslav.

The media immediately spread the news that the former athlete gave birth to a son in America. There was no information about the boy's father, so the journalists decided that he was Levan Uchaneishvili.

Later, new rumors appeared about a boy with American citizenship. According to data from funds mass media, the baby was born as a result of the union of Svetlana Khorkina and Kirill Shubsky. The man was the official husband of Vera Glagoleva, so many took this assumption as a rumor. Svetlana Khorkina and Kirill Shubsky, in turn, refuse to comment on this situation. It is worth noting that in her book “Somersaults in Heels,” Khorkina absolutely accurately spells out the name of her son’s father and calls him Kirill. Now conversations on this topic have faded significantly. The fact is that in 2011, Svetlana Khorkina’s personal life became much more defined. The former athlete married General Oleg Kochnov. Svetlana Khorkina would like to have two children, but so far she only has a son.
